I decided to stop by on my break not knowing what I wanted to get. An associate greeted me and offered suggestions and then informed me of any deals going on. During checkout we tried to get the power up $5 discount to apply and tried to even scan it through the app but it wouldn’t work. I understand there will be some bugs with the transition going on and I know the money is going to an amazing company so I’m not torn about it. Overall wonderful experience.

A decent little GameStop for what it is. my only real complaint was the selection of used games, or lack there of. However this is probably more or less a company wide problem as GameStop tries to cut down on the amount of stores and in store clutter.

Good selection of used goods without the hassle of dealing with strangers. Trade in value is low on most items but keep in mind... they are a business.

I called tonight to see if any switches were in stock and I was told that there were. I proceeded to drive from out of town to Madison. When I arrived to purchase my console I was told I could not purchase it without it being in a $500 bundle. The associate on the phone failed to mention that promotion on the phone. I wasted my time by driving an hour and was greeted by 2 employees with horrible attitudes and no recollection of a phone conversation with me that occured a little over an hour ago. There eyes were bloodshot red and appeared to be high. Then when I came back in to purchase a game they were selling a switch to a different person. What is happening at this location? I will be reaching out to coporate and district managers. Someone has to take responsibility for the complete unprofessionalism, poor customer service dishonesty, and stoned stupidity of the employees.

I drove 1.5 Hours just to buy the XBOX Duke controller. I called six stores today and this was the ONLY store that had it...super excited to get back home and use it!!

Its a Gamestop, you know what to expect. They dont order extra copies of new releases, only enough to fill the preorder count. Im not just making that up either, I was literally told that by an employee.

The prices are what they are for the average game price. Staff are not helpful as they sold me a game but then switched the box on me. I would not recommend he staff at all, when i called and asked them about this they denied it and were really unprofessional. I would recommend the down location more so.

The people that work here are so friendly and very patient with thier quests. They dont mind answering a ton of ??. And they are very knowledgeable about all of the product they sell. This is a fun store!!!

Good place to go. Great prices, awesome items, and very friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. They have Pokemon cards there for really cheap which is awesome. The Pro membership is great if your a gamer as it gives you discounts, gaming magazines, etc. even the basic accounts pretty good. I always enjoy the trip over there and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Staff is usually friendly. The prices are very comparable to other game selling businesses in the area. You can find good deals, and even get discounts for signing up for a PRO membership. Many deals as well for limited times. I recommend this place for all of your gaming needs.

Helpful staff and good selection of the kind of games I was shopping for at his prices. I was shopping for older games (Xbox 360) so prices were very good; not usually true of newer games. Nice staff, too! Sometimes women can be ignored or not taken seriously at gaming stores, but their staff was courteous, respectful, and happy to help, answer questions, or provide recommendations.

Brought in a bunch of games for trade in. The employee took about 30ish minutes to go through all the product. We ended up not trading them in, he was very kind about it. Great customer service.

We were greeted and asked if there was anything in particular we were looking for. My son answered and said DS games. We were directed to a couple areas. The first area he said these are all under $10. the second area (that were in a locked case) he said these are all over $10. My son decided to look at everything under $10. They were each individual packaged in a small envelop and priced. He found a game that he has been wanting in the under $10 area but it was priced at $17. We were both confused and thought someone made a mistake and put the wrong price on it since all of these were supposed to be under $10. My son went up to the guy that greeted us and told him about the mistake and asked him how much it was supposed to be. The guy said oh thank you so much for finding this, someone made a mistake and put it in the under $10 envelope and in the wrong area. My son said so it wasnt a mismarked price? And the employees response was NO!This is not how you run a business! If you as the business made the mistake this is not the customers fault. Your next step is to make the customer happy.We will NEVER be back to another Game Stop again!

I try to support speciality stores but the aggressive upselling attempts are getting out of hand. The only reason I chose to go to GS is I can pay a small amount of $ to hold a preorder.

Friendly staff, always helpful. In and out fast. Lots of collectibles to shop for as well as a large inventory of new and used games and peripherals. Often open for midnight releases even for less popular games.

I have bought and traded games and systems here. The trade in prices are lower than I would like, but its just so convenient. The employees here are extremely knowledgeable about games and upcoming dates. If youre looking to discover a new game, just ask one of the employees at the counter.

I just moved to Madison from out of state, and this GameStop was by far the most helpful in the area with relocating my preorders to their store so I can pick up my games at a timely hour. Definitely my choice in the region for further purchases in the future.

Save yourself the trouble and just buy from amazon. We were told we had til January 15th to return items purchased during the holiday season and then got the rug pulled out from under us. Never shopping here again.

We bought the nintendo switch when it had just come out from this location. I wanted to return it, unused and unopened, within one week from when I had bought it, but I lost my receipt. I was told that there was no way they could look up the receipt with my credit card but that I had a couple of months to look for it. I came back after 2 months to return it again, after not being able to find my receipt. It was still unopened and unused, but they told me the only way they would give back the money was on a gift card. I spoke with another person there at the time and he told me that if I had come in at least a month from when I had bought the game, they would have been able to look up my transaction and been able to return the money back onto my card. The first person I talked to and the last person, told me two completely different things. They have terrible customer service. Now I have a Game Stop gift card which I dont use because the switch had been for my brother and I dont need anything from the store. Beware.

This store refuses to return anything that I bought from them. I think this is unfair practice. I understand limiting the returns but to just to just say straight up no.

GameStop is GameStop. Ill try to reserve my feelings about GameStop as a company for this review. The store is about what youd expect for the large national chain; theres nothing particularly great or terrible about this location. There is a large selection of games across all modern platforms, and kiosks to try out demos for games for Wii U and I believe PS4.The main thing to be aware of is the demeanor of the staff of the store. I personally, as a man, have never had much of a problem. Both the male and female staff of the store have been helpful and courteous when I have visited the store. However, I have observed the male staff being rude to female gamers, with a condescending tone very obvious in their communication with such customers. This doesnt seem to happen if a female staff member is within earshot, and is amplified with multiple male staff, so this seems to be the result of the all too prevalent sexism in entertainment software with a girls dont play games attitude unfortunately shared by some of the employees. That has no place here.Guys wont notice a difference. Girls may want to look elsewhere, or brace yourself for a potentially uncomfortable interaction. My personal recommendation is to go to the nearby Best Buy at West Towne Mall instead, where they have been nothing but helpful and very respectful to guys and girls alike when it comes to video games and any related questions, and much of the staff in that area is just as knowledgeable.

Pretty much only Xbox and Playstation stuff here. Not a good selection of any other device.

Me and my girlfriend come in this location often and I just want to take some time to credit Brian who works here, he has made our experiences there, even with the waiting in the lines, more than tolerable. Its super fun talking with him and getting ideas about the next game to buy. Overall I would definitly rate this Gamestop 5 stars even amongst the other locations in the area I would definitly say this one is the best primarily because of its caring staff, its not fast but its definitly worth the wait.

Gamestop at the west Madison has some good service. They usually keep a good collection of used, pre-owned games. They are prompt in returning a bad pre-owned disk, if it didnt work for you. When you buy a pre-owned disk from them, ask them to check for scratches and damage.

Prefer best buy for many reasons. Only come here occasionally for occasional deals. Staffs are friendly.

Overall a nice place, but many things seem to be overpriced for used. Used Stardew Valley for $20 or new for $15. Ooooook. Cool to see board games here.

Most empolyees working here ( The middle aged men ) are rude and Gamestop is a scam all together how you going to sell a used game for 27 dollars ( His words ) and offer 8 dollars in cash back thats not even half what someone else will pay. I pointed this out and the man slammed my game down and refused the return.

I used to manage a game stop 10 years ago. At the time they sold games. Now its mostly overpriced merch and uniformed staff. They pay their employees garbage wages though, so you cant expect much. Sat in this one for a hour one day trying to get help buying a PS4. Left empty handed, not a single person offered to help and when I asked for help I was told they were too short staffed and I would have to wait. Amazon has no waiting and no sass, folks.

It was kind of annoying that the business didnt have the internet bandwidth to take my xbox one that I wanted traded in and update it so I had to take it home and return so that it could be updated. It is 2018, I would expect any reasonable business, especially one that deals in games, to have a good internet bandwidth.

Ask for them to hold an item for me, i asked repeatedly on the phone if the product was in good condition before i came down there otherwise i told them i didnt want it. The employee comfirmed each time that they were in excellent condition. I got down there and the two items i put on hold were in poor condition and he threw my product on the counter damaging it further. Very rude and unhelpful.
