Had the best experience at the salon with the salon manager Katie doing my haircut and color! She listened, gave suggestions, was excited about my cut/color, and you could tell she was very passionate about her job. I will definitely be back with her!

Didn’t feel comfortable in the store. I love ultas products but the workers aren’t the best and I wish it was minorities working also to help with darker skinned tone products. I wish I received better customer Service from the people working at the east ulta beauty. The west Madison always make me feel comfortable just not on my side of town.

Poor customer service. I called to see if they had the three variations of Dior Sauvage. The customer rep told me that they did. I asked if I could smell the three of them before purchasing one. In an annoyed tone, the rep said, Whatever we have out as a tester is all you can smell. Why the frock would I or anyone else drop $100-150 on a cologne if we cant even sniff that ish first? Poor policy, sassy rep. Sniff this, Ulta: FFFFFFFFFFTTTTT. Thats me farting all up on ya! Jackass!

I used to have little to no desire to go to Ulta. The staff would never acknowledge me and it was always a very cold experience. Today, I went in for a haircut and was blown away by the change in atmosphere. I was greeted the second I walked in the door by the general manager. She asked me if I had any questions and let me know her staff was there to help. I browsed a little bit before my appointment and was greeted again by another employee to ask if I had been helped or if I had any questions. She let the salon manager, Katie, know I was there for my appointment. Katie was my stylist and I can say, without doubt, that I will be returning because of her. She was pleasant, knew what she was doing, great to talk to, and made sure she did my hair the way I wanted it done. She also helped me find product for my curly hair by asking one of the employees with curly hair which products they preferred. She really took her time to make sure I was taken care of. During our talk, I mentioned I wanted to have a chick flick movie night and do some self pampering. She surprised me with a little goody bag for my night. Katie is amazing and I will be returning to her and Ulta in the future. Thank you for changing my mind about your store, Katie.

Came in here for a deep conditioning scalp treatment and I am not disappointed. I have eczema/dry scalp and my hair was stressed out. Katie is amazing and is very knowledgeable with scalp care and anything hair related. Shes awesome and highly recommend seeing her and her staff.

I am very disappointed to show up at your store at 3:55 on Wednesday, June 3rd and see the sign to call in for curbside service only. So I called in and no one answered. It went right to your automated message which said you close at 4:00 (I called at 3:55). I guess someone was in a hurry to leave. I wanted one item. The last time I called in for your curbside service it went right to sending it to me instead of curbside service. Cant we call the store and talk to a real person to put in an order? All I can say is that Im not driving in again for nothing!!

Love Ulta. People are very friendly and helpful. I find mostly everything I need there.However, I would have given Ulta 5 stars for total perfection, but I cant. Im still waiting for them to carry the DRUNK ELEPHANT line of skincare products. Other than that I Ulta is fantastic. In my opinion better than Sephora.

One staff person is always friendly and helpful when I go there. Appreciate her service. BUT (and its a big problem for me), since the store opened a perfume section, the entire place always reeks of way too much scent. I have mentioned this several times. One checkout person apologized and said she had a sister who was allergic to fragrances as well. Most of the time, though, I only get puzzled looks. I go there to buy hypoallergenic, FRAGRANCE-FREE skin care products and cosmetics. Even though I keep a hand or scarf over my nose and mouth while in the store, I still come out coughing. Will just have to go across town to a store that doesnt poison its atmosphere with perfume.

Today I went with my wife to this location because she needed a few things and the lady who helped her was fanominal! Her name was Sarah and she was energetic, informative, and extremely helpful. One of the best customer interactions Ive ever witnessed. Huge thanks to her and I would highly recommend this store to anyone who needs cosmetics!

I shop here regularly, and the customer service is very hit-or-miss. Today for instance, I went in looking for a specific lip gloss, and even though there were several staff members wandering around, nobody greeted me or asked if I needed help. The Benefit Brow Bar is the most consistent part of this store.

I never learned how to do makeup but really wanted to give it a try. Ross was incredible to work with! He picked out products for me based on my skin needs, put it on, explained what he was doing each step of the way and even wrote it out for me so I could replicate it when I got home. I have gotten many positive comments when I do the makeup myself. I guess you are never too old to learn. Thank you Ross!

In need of a quick cut so my girlfriend sets me up with an appointment at the salon for a men’s clipper cut. 2 hours later and $35 I walk out with a poor haircut.... wasn’t home 30 minutes before I booked my next hair cut at an actual barber. Long story short save yourself the time and money and get it done by someone who isn’t fresh out of “school.”Lesson Learned.

Great experience if they have items youre looking for. I was in here with a friend who was shopping so I wasnt interested in buying anything, but the service was great. She was looking for help with finding a product but ended up getting free foundation matching and a mini makeover. The prices made my jaw drop but apparently thats just how makeup is.

I’m here literally all the time . But sometimes when the older lady is working, I don’t know her name, I swear she thinks I’m stealing and follows me around . Every single time . Its frustrating and pretty much so obvious it’s rude. I can’t enjoy my time while I’m there because I’ll get anxious and then feel like I almost have to make it obvious that I’m NOT stealing . I’m 23 and I’m sure they get a lot of theft but it was she could have been a little more sneaky about it lol. I spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars here . Other than that they could work on stocking things.

Worst experience I have ever had in an ulta beauty! Went to the store with my daughters ready to spend hundreds on skin care and make up and not a single one of the 4 women working even acknowledged me! I have been a customer of ulta for years and have been to others with excellent customer service and was always able to be helped. I went to pay for my daughters hair accessories and told the cashier this was the worst experience I ever had, she told me it was because they were short staffed and ulta doesnt give them enough money for employees. I told her I found that to be untrue as I watched the employees talk to each other. The cashier said I was making her feel bad and she was going to cry. I said thats fine I will take my money elsewhere.

I had never been to an ulta before and was surprised by how disorganized the layout of the store felt. Everything was clean, but I wouldnt have found anything if it wasnt for the very helpful staff. Im not sure I would go again because they are not in the most convenient location for me but their service means I would be willing to consider it.

From their great selection of products (theres something for everyone!) to their Salon services, I have enjoyed every experience at Ulta! I highly recommend joining their Ultamate rewards program and earning points on all of your purchases, which can be redeemed for a certain dollar amount off of a future purchase that depends on the number of points youve accrued. They offer decent discounts for members and gifts with purchase for various product lines, and I have found great gifts for mom, dad, siblings and friends alike.

I had a wonderful experience with my recent appointment. The thing that struck me was that there was a wide variety of ages, ethnicities, and skin types. As someone who is not 25 anymore, this was most welcome. I felt immediately comfortable. The staff there were professional, thorough, and explained and answered all of my questions. I learned things that I had never known and now feel better equipped to manage my skin care and makeup. It is truly a wonderful store!

Just got off the phone with an employee named Emmy when I called to ask about the Morphe/Jeffree Star brush launch and she was HILARIOUS. She answered all of my questions quickly and informatively and had me laughing the whole time, she was just very genuine and funny. 10/10, will definitely call again with my dumb makeup questions.

Covid safety guidelines are not being followed. Went in yesterday and as I was going to checkout the two people in front of me had no face masks on. Not one employee said anything to them. I was very disappointed as I had my children with me, and it is unsafe and rules should apply to everyone

I hate giving reviews. Im not writing this for the multiple times theyve been out of a product I use, or said product being terrible despite rave review, or even the plethora of times Ive had to change products do to discontinuing. Im here because this is the fourth time Ive been called he, him, or sir by a staff member of this particular Ulta. As a location that has hired two separate gay men who are in full makeup every time Im there, I dont feel this level of ignorance should be a problem. Its sad, as the staff members that have avoided pronouns altogether have been wonderful, including the one today who took over my online order as she was at least apologetic in her demeanor after the other member mispronouned me. The cashier called just prior to assist at the register during this order, one of the male staff, equally said nothing. This isnt my first rodeo, both throughout my years of transition dealing with society at large or feeling like my own community has failed me. Long story short, if youre a trans woman or a ally trying to avoid these sorts of interactions I recommend going elsewhere.

The girls at this location are so so snotty!!! They don’t even ask you if you need help, I have to track the girls down every single damn time to help me with something and when I do, they’re so rude about it. Today when I went to check out I went to the register and immediately started to say “Hi how are you” and before I could get it all out “Hi how-“ she immediately says “phone number?” And then continued to give me attitude when I asked if I had points to use and she says “ya $3” and I wanted to use those points and she hands me my bag without even asking if I wanted the recent in it or with me which I wanted it with me and says “here you go”. You know it’s disheartening when women are rude to other women. We should be bringing each other up, not down. No longer coming to this location.

I was not impressed by this Ulta at all. I spend quite a bit of money at Ulta in Coon Rapids, MN. I was in Madison for work. When I walked in, 2 associates were too busy talking to greet me. After looking for the products I needed and was unable to find them, locating an associate that would even make eye contact was impossible. Not happy!

Went in looking to find a new salon. I thought Id try a bang trim 1st just to get the feel of things. A stylist asked me what I wanted, turned to another stylist & asked if she had time. Immediately she said no as she stood talking with a client as her hair was processing. Knowing the quick time it takes just for bangs I thought as I was shopping Id check back just to see really how busy she was. 25 mins later she was still standing talking personal things. She could have had my bangs taken care of AND if a trim came in she could have done that also. Then as I was trying to find products within the store no one asked me if I needed help. I was disappointed with checkout when she asked me if I found everything ok. My response was not really. She said nothing and continued to ring me out.

A sales associate followed me around and and reminded me of close about 3 times in the 5 minutes i was there.. I work in retail.. I hate being the person who comes in before closthes. Rude, judgy,and unfriendly staff. I was running errands and was wearing leggings and a sweatshirt nothing fancy. Which I didnt realize I had to dress up to pick up a some shampoo. The manager told me I had to pay for the salon services next time I wanted to get my makeup done.. she scared off her employee too when I was having them help me apply eyeliner and eyebrow product. Why would I buy a product if I couldnt sample it first? Why should I pay salon services when Im buying the products anyways? She was just greedy and rude and wanted me to pay more. Well she just lost a customer.

This ulta can be hit or miss. And by hit or miss, I mean usually bad. Until very recently they never seemed to re stock anything, or have an answer when you asked about when they would get more of a sold out product. their selection of nyx and Anastasia eyeshadows are beyond old, with out of date packaging. I have had the person ringing me up complain about their day on more than one occasion, without my asking. I accidentally dropped a $6 highlighter on the floor on one visit, and it broke. I was near the register, and picking up the pieces, and when I brought it up and explained what happened I was met with eye rolls and sighs, even while I apologized. they also can’t seem to get my ulta points account matched with my correct phone number, and are less than helpful when I’ve asked for help to fix that. I’ve been followed around as if I were shoplifitng, and actually left the store and went to the west side to buy the $100 of make up I’d picked out. The west side ulta seems better than this one, and I only come back to this location because it’s a convenient location.

I went their to get some IT cosmetics. They had a free mascara with purchase of $35. When I got back to the IT section there was a sign saying they did have the one type of mascara but they would substitute it for a full size of ITs other mascara. So I grabbed my $100+ of product and went up to check out. The consultant said they would not honor the sign bc they ran out of the GWP. She tried to give me a sample of BUXOM. I asked her why was their a sign back there.... she grabs it and asks her manager and they said no they would not honor it. Ill never step foot in there again. Not only were they rude they did not try and make it right. So Ill keep going to SEPHORA ON JC PENNEYS. Where I am greeted and given samples and told about promotions every time I am in there. They appreciate all the money I spend on make up. Never again ulta in Madison Ill make the drive to Milwaukee for an ulta.
