My appointment was at 9am, stylist was late and did not start braiding my hair until 10:10am. Another client arrived on time only to sit and wait for her stylist as well. So the client must pay deposit and be on time just to wait and extra hour. I was asked when booking my appointment what color hair I wanted and selected a color from their website days prior. Hair color I selected was not available and had to pick another color. I was told the length I wanted wasn’t achievable so I opted to get the longer length and pay the extra $30. Once the style was completed it was clear I could have easily got the shorter length. They offered to cut it but that was pointless after sitting for the longer time. The manager/owner explained that when doing the Kinks and Curls braids “they” feel it looks better longer…so basically my opinion and pockets don’t matter, I should wear my hair how they like it. I will never again visit this establishment and don’t recommend it either.

I had a really great experience here. They were on time, professional, friendly and fast. My hair looked great and I really appreciated the time my stylist took to perfect my hair. I will be back : )

I love my feed in braids! I was in desperate need of a vacation protective style. I called the same day I was supposed to leave and they fit me in and did a beautiful job! Even though I did not have an appointment, my stylist did not skip corners, she was professional, kind, and did an amazing job from beginning to end. On top of that, my braids lasted 3 weeks through sweaty, hot weather, the pool, and multiple washes! I will definitely be back!

I usually dont provide reviews or comments, but the service I received was phenomenal. I got the small goddess box braids. By far the best braids I have ever received. They exceeded my expectations.I definitely will be a returning customer!

I did not want to post this review because of previous good experiences I have had with this salon however it’s been on my heart and mind every since my experience in July, the last time I will ever set foot in this salon. To give background, I’ve gotten my hair braided here at least 4 times probably more. All times were good except this last time. I got boho braids. Now the price for this is over 700 for mid back length. This is the second time I received this service. The first time, I was the first person they did this style on. I purchased my own hair and was told I needed 18inches or longer of human hair for this style. It came out beautiful. In July I requested the same style. I was told that they now offer the hair for this style included in the purchase price. Great! When I got to the salon and they started braiding my hair, I noticed that the hair looked a LOT shorter than 18inches. I halted the process and asked about the length. The two girls immediately called the owner who told me to trust the process it will come out exactly the same as the first time. She explained that the hair I purchased was too much and they had to cut a lot of it however, they now perfected the process. After it was done, it did not look at all like the first time. The hair was considerably shorter. It also took hours less time. I called the owner again and all she said was she is sorry I didn’t like the outcome. The next day I washed my hair, because I did not like all the mouse they put in it, and clumps started falling out. You can see from the pics that it is NOT the normal shedding. This was actual hair that was supposed to be securely in the braids as the left out part. When I contacted the owner again and sent her pictures she said that I “made the workers nervous” with my questions and that I “had bad energy”. I requested a refund for the services that day. Now mind you I did not request a refund for the purchased hair that I was made to pay for up front but 450 for the service of that hair. She denied my request. She also denied rebraiding my hair. I am appalled by the lack of concern or respect for loyal customers who spend a lot of money in her shop. I have never once complained and the first time I do I am told it is my fault the hair is falling out because I have bad energy?! That is shameful. Last let me preemptively respond to the owner by answering a question she asked another customer on here when they complained…I went through with the service after telling you my complaint at the beginning, because you asked me to trust the process. I had no reason before then to NOT trust your salon. That does not give you the license to take advantage of that trust. Also please remove my picture from your site advertising this service(boho braids). That picture is no longer representative of the service you provide.

I got knotless braids for the first time and this was the best experience I could ask for. The staff was professional and communicated effectively. I was very happy with the final product and have already recommended this shop to any one that has asked. I will definitely be back.

I am originally from Fort Lauderdale Fl, Virginia is my new home. I was in desperate need of hair services and would only go to a predominantly black salon. I came across Braids and styles by UGO who provide natural hair services have they are excellent and professional and my experience was definitely a great one. I would highly recommend to anyone actively seeking.

This is my second time going to Braids and Styles by Ugo. The first time I got Marley twists that were done flawlessly. They were neat, no pain, and lasted very well. My first experience was great so I decided to come back for another protective style. This time I got the crochet with human hair install and it is AMAZING. It looks so natural and I have received so many compliments! Ugo was beyond helpful when discussing style options and answering my questions. She even made sure I knew how to take care of my new style since I hadn’t had it before and I’m not good at doing hair. Again, there was no pain at all, which I feel is very important. And the style looks just as good weeks later! All the ladies are very professional, the salon has a great atmosphere and they exceeded my expectations each time. I would DEFINITELY recommend!!!

Please, please, please be sure that you have the owner to text you the amount she charges for your hair after she quotes it. Otherwise, after she completes your hair the price will increase. Then she will indirectly call you a liar, as she did to me. I fill so disappointed and disrespected. I am satisfied with my hair but my experience was ruined by the blatant unprofessional attitude of the owner. I would not recommend this salon to my worse enemy.

I recently let my hair grow, unfortunately I dont recall the young ladies name, but she did a tremendous job! I was 2 seconds from cutting it off but now they just earned a regular. Thank you very much!

Ive been going to Ugo for two years now and have never been disappointed. I always get compliments on my hair and it still looks good each time after almost 8 weeks. Ugo and her team are talented and will not have you out here looking crazy. Ugo herself stays fly and she wants her clients to reflect the same. Check her out!

When I first arrived I was a bit off-put by them opening a few minutes late, and the awkward interaction when I arrived. The woman unlocked the door, but didn’t open it to let me in. Then when I came in she just stared at me. As the appointment went on the atmosphere was more positive. As far as my hair goes, I paid $400 for faux locs. They were nice, but they were butterfly locs, which is not what I asked for. Overall, I have not decided if I would go back. But, I would probably recommend to others.

I been getting my hair done with Ugo for over 5 years. She’s very professional and talented! My natural hair has grown tremendously because of her. You won’t be disappointed!

Style: Bomb Twist (Synthetic)I’m writing this review after having the twist for 3 months!It took 5.5 hours to twist hair.The hair so light and easy to wash. The hair dries very quickly and I sat under a dryer to completely dry my real hair. After washing hair I used curling creams and styling gel on my edges.

Ugo has done my hair over the years and never dissapoints. She points out styles she thinks would look good on me, which I appreciate. One thing that has me coming back is the connection I have with her that I don’t have with other stylists, when I say what I want we work together to make it happen. Forever a client
