This beauty supply store has EVERYTHING, as evidenced by the many pics that I posted. I want to speak mainly to the needs of black women and men who have a challenging time finding products for us in a Sally’s or a Harmon’s. THIS STORE has you covered. I drive 30 minutes from my house to get hair care products here that I can’t find in my neighborhood. I am like a kid in a candy store when I am here. There are SO many options for hair care products. Some products I have only seen on line, and some brands that I have never heard of (and trust me, I know a lot of them.) It’s always pleasant to shop here. It’s located in a nice safe neighborhood, and if on the occasion that you don’t find street parking, there’s a small, free public lot just behind the building. I am very glad that I discovered this place. I have been a customer for at least 15 years.
Young lady in the hair section was very nice & helpful.
Wonderful Beauty Supply!!Very well stocked, aesthetically pleasing and very knowledgeable staff. My new go to spot
This use to be my favorite beauty shop but is no longer because what happened to me over here. I was unfortunately scammed or over charged here by a cashier who was an old Asian man who could barely speak English that was too focused on a Korean drama he was watching. I tried to make conversation with him but could not as he could barely understand what I was saying. While checking out my items I decided to take out 4 items. When I asked him the take out four items he glared at me which made me uncomfortable. The total went from $26 to $20. I payed for my items but after I walked out the store I looked at my receipt and realized something was wrong. I only bought 5 items that all together should havebeen $14.95. My receipt said the total was $19.42 and also that I had paid for for 8 items when I actually bought 5 items. I went back to the store and kindly explained to the cashier the situation and asked the cashier to scan the items again. He refused and kept telling me rudely I TOOK OUT FOUR ITEMS YOU SEE FOUR. SALE IS FINAL I kept telling him that I added up the total and it came out 14.95 and to please reconsider. I also told him he charged me for 8 items. Once again he refused to do anything about the situation. I asked him how the tax could come out to over $6. He was like I DONT KNOW?! I TOOK FOR ITEMS OUT YOU SEE 4 ITEMS. HERE 1, 2, 3, 4!!! I walked out because I knew there was nothing I could do. He would just remain ignorant. Because of the whole situation I will no longer becoming here. Pleases beware of the old Asian man cashier. And make sure you add up ur total in a calculator before you go up to the cashier. Pay very close attention when they scan your item and look at your receipt to make sure everything is correct. Dont let these beauty stores scam you!!
Its okay, rather compact inside.
This is a small location but it has a wide variety of items from hair products, makeup, beads, and wigs, to name a few. The owners and workers are very pleasant and helpful. There is street parking and a municipal parking lot behind the building; enter from Prospect St.Keep in mind that the price of SOME items may be a little higher by $1 or more. For example, the As I Am Co-Conditioner is $8.99 here while its $7.99 in Irvington and Target* (mega store). Definitely one of my go to spots.
The owner is always on the phone and if he does give you service he is unpleasant. Today there was a young lady at the register on the phone too, no customer service skills. I prefer to go to the store in Union Center the manager there is really nice.
They have pretty much everything. All I need for my natural hair care is available here. And the associates dont follow you around the store
Owner is very rude, how do you expect people to shop there if you are rude. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy. Go to beauty supply in Irvington on Lyons ave; they are friendly and helpful and prices are cheaper.
Because this place is in Maplewood, I expected more. But it is just another Asian-owned beauty supply with the same cheap wigs and supplies youd find in Irvington, Newark or East Orange. Parking is around the block because street parking is a problem.
The owner is always kind. The workers are very helpful. Great quick run in and out.
Store did not close early; Appreciated that as I was rushing to get there before they closed. They have a lot of products that most beauty supply stores dont and if they dont tell the owner and they will get it! They also have an online store as well!
Prices are comparable. Free parking available around tbe corner. Staff answered questions. However, once your question is answered they move on. I had to repeatedly redirect his attention towards me. I would understand if there were other customers to whom he was assisting but there wasnt anyone else.
The four stars are for that they had my product I was looking for. Instead of me ordering online. Now for price their kinda $$$
They carry a wide range of excellent beauty products at great prices. The sales team are also very warm and helpful.
Love this store ! Amazing selection of hair color and anything and everything for your beauty needs !
Owner/man at register always seems to have an attitude. Never in a pleasant mood. They have the basics at average prices.
Every time Ive been here theyve always had exactly what I needed and have been very helpful.
Been around a long time... They carry many of the good brands prices mid to high. I always go there!!!
The guy is extremely rude. I called asking questions not only was he not even attempting to be helpful, he hung up on me! From the beginning, he answered the phone hostile.
One of the best beauty supply stores hands down, never had a problem finding what I needed.
I cant speak for their beauty products, but if youre looking to buy hair, dont buy from here. Last year I bought hair from here and took it to my salon. The quality was so poor that the hairdresser deemed it unusable and I had to take the loss of the nonrefundable purchase and buy different hair.I thought that it might have just been the extension brand. But last week I decided to try them again, and the expensive braiding hair I bought is unravelling and falling out like crazy. Another waste of money. Did they buy it wholesale years ago? Whatever the case, avoid their extension products! There are so many other places to buy hair in the area.
A little expensive but i always find the products im looking for
Overpriced HOWEVER, it has a large selection of hair care products for curly hair.
A tad bit expensive....but the young lady who helped me was nice.
Friendly this is one of the stores I frequent for my hair care supplies
Great place and Location.
A lot of stuff, just not what I needed.
All for women good
For natural hair products they have so many selections.
Good service
Poor customer service by Chris the owner
Simply the best
I found what I needed
Helpful, well stocked!!
Wide selection of products
Friendly staff
