I had my daughter’s MacBook Pro serviced due to the Apple Emblem staying on screen after boot up. Sam quickly Identified the Issue and with my permission. Replaced the motherboard and updated my operating system. Unfortunately... The Device Crashed after a Week and without hesitation. Mr. Sam again Quickly Identified the issue and acknowledged that His brand new Motherboard was Faulty... GREAT SERVICE!!! Thanks Again..

I’m very dissatisfied with the data recovery service I’ve received at Tan Max Computer.As a close friend of theirs, Pei told me she doesn’t get paid and is only working for Sam or Samuel the technician, which shows he is very selfish and puts all the money he earns towards himself. Pei is the bookkeeper and accounting manager at Tan Max, while her daughter is responsible for the social media, but Sam claims that they don’t do anything.I’m writing this review because I was charged an unreasonable amount for a data recovery that was done by a “special machine” in a “special room” that doesn’t exist in the shop, so when I asked where the special room is he said it’s not here then I asked where is it then he said it’s not my business. As a client I would like to know and be able to trust that my data recovery is in good hands. With that statement, it shows me that my device isn’t under good hands. Sam mentioned there’s a 97% customer guarantee, but me and a few customers haven’t been satisfied. When I picked up my device after it’s been there for a week, Sam showed me files on his computer and then when I got home I couldn’t open the files on my computer. When I called back the same day, Sam was very rude and said I have a customer I can’t talk to you. Then I called back again the next day and Sam asked me why I didn’t stay in his shop to ensure all my data was there before leaving. I stayed in his shop and saw the files on his device but the files on my device weren’t compatible.Overall, I really appreciate Pei for being so kind in helping her customers out but I don’t appreciate how bad Sam’s anger management issues are and how he blames customers when all the work was done by Sam and not touched by the client until pick up, how bashful, rude, dishonest, and falsely professional/religious to get his benefits which is just money and nothing else.

I needed my photos from an old phone that i could not remember my password & thanks to Sam he was able to get ALL my photos back & unlock my phone in less than 1 week !!!!He did an amazing job i could not be more happier :)HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!!!

Sam the owner is a powder keg. Hes all smiles and friendly to get the sale, but when an issue arose from his own actions, he was accusatory, rude and unpleasant, then tried to charge me 20% restocking fee on top of his asking price for a part that he was charging $30 more than online prices.Had an issue with a PC build, my motherboard had an extra power cable socket for an i9, wasnt listed in the diagram, and the other issue was I had a graphics card that requires extra power; so the power supply I purchased elsewhere had neither power cable, so I called up Sam, asked about the extra power cable (he had no idea the second 4pin cable is for i9 10900k CPU which I didnt need running an i7), and my extra 6pin cable for my graphics card, he said he had just the fix: an overpriced poorly reviewed power supply that he puts in all his PC builds at the store.He assured me all the cables I needed were included, I was desperately looking for a fix for my build at home, so I came to the store right away, he was all smiles and acted like a close friend, a valued customer.Then I get home. Open the box, lay out all the cables, and neither cable I was assured was there was included. I should have checked the box before I uninstalled my old PSU, so now I dont have the cables I was promised were there, I have to put my old parts back in and wire up the whole PC.I called him telling him about the cables, and he asked me to take my disassembled PC to his store for no reason other than he doesnt listen to his customers, he just insisted that somehow the cables would magically appear, like I had no idea how to identify what was in the box.3 days later after I fixed it myself, I called Sam up to tell him about the missing cables and my need to return the uninstalled PSU and his tone changed immediately.He accused me of lying. His voice had a condescending mocking tone that was accusatory and dismissive. He told me I would be charged $35 restocking fee, but I would never have bought the item from him if he hadnt assured me that all the cables I needed were included, and they absolutely were not.We agreed on a 10% restocking fee because no matter how hard I tried to point out to him that he was the reason I bought the wrong part due to his ignorance of what I needed and what was in the box, his tone got more indignant, more aggressive and totally out of line for a business owner whose sole focus should be making satisfied happy customers.I am not happy having to assassinate Sam here in this review, but his own actions are at fault, he has no self awareness, acts as if he knows everything despite being 100% wrong about my needs and his own products.

Had a serious Mac Hard Drive failure. Worked with another resource who indicated the drive was too damaged for his shop to repair and referred me to Sam at Tan Max. Took a bit of time, but all of the data was recovered and loaded on a new drive and installed back onto my machine. I was also given a extra drive with all the data loaded for safe keeping in my home office...just in case. Service was excellent, price was fair. I recommend!

Wanted to wait a day or two before I let a review because the last time I cracked my screen for an iPhone, the screen went blank and I had to pay extra to get it fixed. But when I unexpectedly cracked my screen, I went straight to Sam who took great care of my phone while I went to work. Prices were fair, customer service was excellent and I recommend everyone to get this phone fixed by Sam.

I like to support local stores. I have brought my printer here to get it fixed with good results.However, bringing in my computer ranks with one of my worst consumer experiences. In brief, he didnt fix the problem I asked him to fix. He said he it was malware. It was not. He said he cleaned malware- from my computer-who knows. I asked him to refund my money. He would not. His parting word to me was a yelled *itch. I came home and fixed it myself within 10 minutes.

Tan usually fix my computers whenever I have an issue with them. He helped me recover my hard drive and replaced a power supply on another computer. The prices were very good. It did take a few days more then I expected though. However Tan is a very nice fellow.

I went to have my iPhone screen replaced and was told I had a warranty. This place doesn’t use official apple replacements so when I took it back because the screen was literally peeling, I was told that I had to pay again ( though the damages were because of the type of products they use). Not only was the warranty not acknowledged, but the guy was extremely rude. Would not recommend this place.

I had gave this establishment a tmobile phone to have replace the screen. I got it back and its now a AT&T phone. Because I didnt used it for about a month they dont want to undo what they did wrong. This is the worst place to do any business with any electric device you may have.

Took my iphone for repair due to a cracked screen. Price for new screen and screen protector were cheaper than other places. I knew if I had an issue I could bring the phone back as TanMax has been in the area for many years. Services was fast as I had my phone back in about 1/2 hour.

Do not use this place. He is also a third party vendor for amazon home services as well. Came to fix my iphone’s cracked screen and damaged the Home Button. Charged me over $127 and wasted my time. Had to take my phone to Apple store to have it fixed.By the way also DO NOT USE AMAZON HOME SERVICES for anything. They have unqualified vendors that can come to your home & damage your products.

I recently took my mac there for a battery installation and received the worst service. I paid him in full and first of all he ordered the battery on the 18th and it didnt come until the 29th & after he completed the battery installation he said charge it for a few hours; so I did that and then my laptop would not come on. I went back so that he could take out the new battery that he installed and put back in my old battery & to get my money back and he would give me a full refund because he had spent so much time installing the battery. He continued by saying he doesnt volunteer or work for free. I would never go back or recommend anyone go there, especially with apple products. The price was affordable, but go the apple store or one of there authorized retailers, where you are assured quality service.

Dishonest, Unprofessional. Family business but he treats his “employees” with disrespect by saying curse words which is not what is supposed to. Think about it a family business won’t go well if not everyone will work together peacefully😡

Very responsible, very professional when fixing iphone cracked screens.

I came here to fix the screen and hinges on my laptop, was charged a hefty price to replace the whole thing. About a week later my screen was cracked and the owner basically told me its not his responsibility because it was wasnt cracked when I left the store. Not even a year later and the hinges are loose again.
