I was greeted coming through their door and checked in quickly. The eye testing assistant took me right back and expertly completed those tests. I was taken into the Dr’s room and the assistant explained what would happen next. Dr Richter thoroughly went through the test photos to explain what he saw. My eye exam was thoroughly done to find my accurate correction for my eyes. I was asked if I had any other questions or needs. Then I was brought back to the front desk to schedule my next appointment.

It was a great appointment. The initial nurse was amazing, very knowledgeable, and very friendly. The doctor was also wonderful. Again very knowledgeable, very friendly and explained everything she was doing and checking. Overall a great experience. Dr. Brittany is a great addition to your staff. I understand why my wife and my daughter love to come to your clinic. Overall an outstanding visit.I would actually give you guys a 10 out of 10. Thank you for the wonderful treatment and professionalism.

A wonderful experience. Prompt, thorough and pleasant. Both the assistant Ashley and Dr. Katelyn took multiple measurements and double checked everything. Their explanations were clear and helpful. I have acute, chronic eye disease. I felt I was in good hands and I am seeing well.

The Doctor I saw was amazing! Dr. McDevitt took her time and asked many questions about my last prescription and why it didnt work well for me. She took her time and was very friendly. I will never go anywhere else from here on out.

It was apparent something was going on with my eye and I got into see Dr Richter within a couple of days. He was so good at explaining what was going on. Loved his clinic side manner. Just makes you feel real comfortable. Took the time and asked me if I had any questions at the end of the exam. The clinic is so nice. Comfortable size. Easy to get in and out of if you are physically impaired or elderly. Highly recommend this facility!!

Dr richter is the best!!!!! He takes time to explain, and make you feel comfortable with the exam. He truly cares, and remembers details of his patients. I always feel confident with him.

The front receptionist was welcoming and friendly. First impressions are crucial for me since it sets the tone and stage. Once I was pulled back to get my eyes checked, it was good. I forgot the name of the woman who did the tests, but she was super friendly, nice, and made sure I was comfortable before, during, and after. (Thank you!) When the eye doctor came, she too was very informative and thorough. She explained my results briefly, but was sure to let me know what my options were. She was patient. Thank you! I will be receiving my glasses in a come of weeks. Hopefully they are awesome.

The entire staff is nice and friendly. The techs and doctors know exactly what they are talking about and explain things in a way that anyone could understand. You are definitely in great hands if you choose to go here.

Saw the great reviews on google and decided to get it a shot. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the front desk right away, very nice. Second, we did not have an appointment and thry still found room to serve us right away in the morning. Sat down with staff, very nice and professional, took the time to look up if our insurance covered the cost, again staff was there to help and not push you out like other place. Would recommend thia place to anyone. Dont waste your time somewhere else.

They always make us feel welcome and are happy to help with any questions. The girls are so helpful when were trying to decide on new glasses and we always rely on their honest opinions. This place is wonderful! We were in Minnesota visiting family from New York and my teenage daughter forgot to pack her contacts.... The women at the front desk were so unbelievable! They went out of their way to help us in getting some trial contact lenses in my daughter’s prescription. They gave the contacts to us for free which was incredibly generous! They also help my elderly mother and have been very patient and thoughtful with her. Their customer service is excellent and I strongly recommend this eye care center!! You won’t be disappointed!!

I had an amazing experience here this morning! The doctors were very knowledgeable, informative and efficient.I received help from Chanda to find glasses and she was so patient (since I am indecisive when it comes to picking out new frames). She helped and suggested some that looked great on my face. My whole family goes to the Maplewood Eye Care Center and we love Dr. Richter and his whole staff. They are all so friendly and nice. We have been very impressed with what a good job Dr. Richter does with our daughter who has been in glasses since age 3 and also deals with astigmatism. This is one of my favorite places! I have been a patient here for over 15 years. The care I receive from my doctor is excellent and instills confidence in me that it is the best care available. The selection of eyewear is extensive with conservative to wild! Choosing new glasses is always a fun event because almost everyone there gives input and treats me as a friend. The sales events are great. The premises is spotlessly clean and pleasant.Even though I moved 125 miles away three years ago, I still come to the Eye Care Center for exams and glasses. It is worth the trip!

I went in for the first time in 4 years today. I also just got new health insurance. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and friendly with helping me find out more info about my insurance, to be sure I was going to be covered for my appointment.I saw Dr. Alvarado and she was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. I will make a point to see her again the next time I need my eyes checked. She explained what astigmatisms are and what that means for my vision which cleared up a lot of questions I had about why I see the way I do.Great experience. I’ll be back!

I had my eye exam done here, and purchased two sets of glasses. I couldnt be happier with the help Ive received! Im late in the game to wearing eyeglasses, and so am a little resistant to everything having to do with correcting poor eyesight. Everyone has provided exceptional service, making it possible to find the right glasses for reading, driving, and computer work. The staff even helped me look into driving glasses to help with night vision issues!

I am a six year old border collie and when my Mom had an eye appointment today she wasn’t able to get me in our house (she forgot the key) she drove to the eye care center to reschedule her appointment because it was 84 degrees and I couldn’t be in the car. When she tried to reschedule the staff insisted that I stay with them while she had her appointment. The staff were super nice they brought me a nice bowl of water and gave me a lot of attention. I know my Mom really appreciated the kindness and love they gave me. All the staff were great to Mom and me for our entire 75 minute visit and I would strongly recommend this business.Woof Woof!!Love Gus

I was running late and called to check if I should still come to my appointment or reschedule. They were gracious and had me come into the clinic, tho I might have to wait a bit. Yet I actually got right in! The assistant and the doctor did not rush me and answered all my questions.

My first visit one year ago was amazing and I could not believe I had found such a great place with great customer service. Which is probably why I was so disappointed with my last visit this past week. I had high expectations. I was mildly greeted in contrast to the extra warm welcome I got the first time. I came in with my 20 month old and was excited to see they had toys for her in the lobby. My toddler had pooped while we were waiting for the doctor and as I was about to ask for a bathroom the assistant came to get me. I asked her if I could stop in the bathroom quick to change her diaper and she said sure and just pointed in a general direction where the bathroom was. At this point I had my contacts out and could barely see anything far away. So she was not helpful in that way. I then found the bathroom on my own but totally could have gone in the men’s room on accident. But only found they didn’t have a changing table, which would have been nice to know. I came back and started the appointment. The assistant wasn’t warm at all. No small talk, just a very sterile quiet as we went through her check list of things she does for the appointment. She later dilated my eyes and did tell me the side effects but never told me how long it would last. The doctor was kind and I liked him a lot again. He knew I was stretching my time with my last pair of contacts and kindly gave me a trial pair until my new contacts arrived. I went back to the front desk and was charged and had an okay interaction. But when I told her that last time they sent in the rebate for me and I picked up the contacts at the office and only paid $4 dollars, she just kind of looked at me funny. And then proceeded to tell me to send in the rebate myself. Which is fine, but I just felt so taken care of the first time. I work in customer service and just really enjoy when I receive good customer service myself, so I guess my last visit was just ok.

This place has a caring staff who helps you with everything from eye wear to surgical referrals. My experience is great. My eyes are great in every way. This incredible bunch of people helped me through Cateract surgery. My eyes are so great on my eyes are wonderful. All the tests are amazingi have been a patient for almost 30 years at this Clinic and I am so pleased.

I had my first appointment at Eye Care Center in Maplewood and couldn’t be happier! I came here because I wasn’t satisfied with the place I was going previously and am glad I made the switch. I needed new glasses and had some questions about contacts, and Dr. Ashley Herde gave me all the information I needed to feel educated about my decisions and my eye condition. The information was much more thorough than I had received from previous doctors and put my mind at ease, and for once I didn’t leave feeling confused. Then came the fun part – picking out new frames! Chanda Ros helped me through the process of narrowing down about 30 frame choices that I liked. She was very honest and would tell me when certain frames didn’t fit my face well, and she had a good eye for styles that would look good on me that I may not have picked out myself. I ended up getting two new pairs, one that will transition to sunglasses and another for computer use. Overall it was an excellent experience and I will continue to come to Eye Care Center for future appointments.

Dr. Herde was great to work with. For years we have discussed trials and tribulations with my contacts and she always has provided good options and strategies to aid with my comfort and activities that I participate in. Highly recommended.

I walked in and was ignored by the optical staff. I had my prescription from Minnesota Eye Consultants. The young blonde lady was seriously under dressed for a professional medical clinic. I asked to speak with a manager and was told she was busy. I left my phone number and when she called me (I think she said her name was Amy) she proceeded to tell me she couldn’t help me because I wasn’t in the computer system. I told her I was a walk-in and she said we are very busy and I don’t have time for this and hung upon me. I made sure I called Minnesota Eye Consultants and let them know how I was treated. I’d say pass on the optical shop for sure! There are plenty of places to purchase eyewear and contacts.

One of the few places I can find silhouette frames and all kinds of features on the glass lenses. Great doctors. Grate attention from the entire staff.

Unfortunately I did not have the experience everyone else seems to have had. About a year and a half ago I was treated very poorly because I hadn’t had an exam for a few years (because I was a broke college student and didn’t have vision insurance at the time). From the moment I told them how long it had been they treated me like I was such a horrible person for waiting “so long” (my prescription changed only .25 in one eye by the way.) I picked this place because they did have good reviews but I guess that doesn’t always mean much. Having worked in the dental field I know how important it is to not treat patients like they did something wrong when they haven’t been in for awhile because being treated that way will likely make them go another few years without a visit. Hopefully the Eye Care Center of Maplewood will learn that some day...

I love the staff at Maplewood. I have gone to this clinic for a gazillion years. The customer service is GREAT! They are like family. I live quite a distance from them, and many people in their right mind would probably find a clinic that would be much closer to them. But the customer service they give makes all the difference in the world as to why I couldnt even imagine going somewhere else.

Recently had my first visit with this eye clinic. Due to a medical condition I need a very thorough exam. I was impressed and pleased with the exam and treatment plan I received from Dr. Kraupa, who provided clear and concise information about my current and future eye care. My wife and I were also impressed with the customer service we received from eye tech, LeAnne, who took a lot of time and did not rush us through choosing frames. My wife and I will be returning to this clinic for our annual visits and to purchase our glasses.

In general, they have a great staff. My appointment was quickly and easily scheduled. The visit happened when scheduled and no delays. Great job!
