Scheduled online to have a hitch installed. When asked what type of wire harness I would like, I chose the most expensive one. When I arrived for my installation, the man who was going to install the hitch told me that he recommended the cheaper harness and explained why. He saved me over a hundred dollars when he could have easily just installed the more expensive one. The hitch was installed in a few hours (as expected) and looks and works great.

Good for inventory but not nearly enough people working. I would definitely rent from some independent place. They need to hire a LOT more people. Prepare to sit around for upwards on an hour if you choose this location.

Came here with my neighbor 4/14/21 to buy a box. He didn’t know what size to get. 4 employees sitting behind the desk. Not one offered to come and help us. They were holding their personal conversation the whole time we were there. Paid for the box we finally chose. On our own. Not a thank you. There was no break in their conversation between themselves. The man stopped ringing up the box to keep talking to the woman. Finally got it rang up. I walked away. I said thank you sarcastically 3 times on the way out loudly, the woman finally caught on and said thank you. Very bad customer service. I feel bad for their employer. I’m sure alot of unhappy customers. The employees should not work there if they don’t know how to do customer services. Use conversation time for your breaks. I won’t be back.

Reserved our one way truck to California. They were nice and all but the guy who helped us checked in was sure lazy. We wanted to pay cash. And he mention about how he didn’t want to count all them money! Like fr!? So paid with card instead. Over all ride to Cali is currently good. Have about ten more hours. I really wish UHaul can start some kind of upgrades. Like “FOUR WHEEL DRIVE!” We are paying the price already! You run your business for how long now and I still see no good change in these trucks. Where does the money go into and why does these truck not have 4 wheel drive in 2021?

I moved this past Saturday and I had reserved a 26 truck, which I had never driven before. When I went to pick it up, everything went okay with the nice gentleman who helped me, but as soon as I got in the huge truck, I had an instant panic attack and knew there was no way that I could drive that thing. I went back in to see if there was anyway I could change sizes and this time I was being helped by a woman named Wendy - thats where it all went downhill. When I told her it was too big for me to drive, she shrugged her shoulders and said they didnt have any other trucks available. When I asked if she could look around other locations, she seemed annoyed as she said its not hard to drive those, if my 16 year old can do it then anyone can. Like, okay yeah Im sure if you WORK AT UHAUL its not difficult for you.She then finds a smaller truck in Blaine. I live in Saint Paul and was moving somewhere else in Saint Paul. There was no way I was going to drive all the way to Blaine (35-40 min away) on the day I was moving when I already had a million other things to do. Granted, I should have reserved a smaller truck from the beginning, but the way she handled the situation made it all worse. The nice gentleman who originally helped me was still in the store, and was trying to come up with a solution for me and actually seemed to care. After I declined going to Blaine, Wendy threw her hands in the air and snaps Well you deal with it then!! to her coworker and stormed out the door. WENDY is a rude nasty person who should NOT be in customer service period. I was not rude in any way, in fact I was crying thinking I would not be able to find a truck at all to move. Im only giving 2 stars because of the man who went out of his way to try helping me by calling two other people to see if they wanted to switch sizes, whom both declined because the truck is too big for them. THoUgHt iT WaS sIMpLE WEnDy??!!Long story short, I will not be back there. Luckily I was able to get a Penske truck at the last minute. I wish I knew the nice black guys name from U-Haul who really tried to help me. If anyone knows him, please tell him I said thank you. As for WENDY, she should not be able to deal with the public or just be outright fired. Moving is very stressful as it is and dealing with someone like her on a day like that makes it much worse.

A person working there named Jason was extremely rude. I asked him not to take a picture of my DL w his personal cell phone (I couldve taken the photo myself and uploaded it to the app) but he took it anyway. I requested his supervisor and he said he didnt know who it was because the supervisor was new. Another employee came to assist us with the rental and provided us with the supervisors name and phone number.When I saw Jason outside while inspecting my vehicle I mentioned to him that he had a lot to learn about customer service and he said he didnt care because he was leaving for college and it was his last day. I have never experienced this kind of ignorance behavior at a place of business before. And will be reporting to the bbb.

I have used this Uhaul for the past 5 years now. I rent a motorcycle trailer 2/3 times a year either helping buddies out or moving my own bikes around. I have always had a great experiance with this locaiton and enjoy the staff. Yes sometimes it gets busy but every buisness does. Having the new online check in is amazing and really speeds up the process! I always send my friends and family to this locaiton.

Mann...talking about service. Waited over 30 mins no one wants to come out to fill propane. I hit the buzzer they have next to the propane refill tank 2x. As i type this review about to gave up an employee came out and says no propane. Well, no sign says that. Go somewhere else. This is the 2nd time i have to wait over 30 mins. Done. Not coming back again.

Dont even think of coming here if you need propane refills. They wont come out to service you and they like to go to the storage garages and hide if you even attempt to go in and wait for them in line. They rather sit behind the counter or go find other things to keep busy but service propane.Made me wait 30 minutes when there was barely any customers on a Monday morning. The customer before me waited even longer with one of those big long commercial cylinders, Im sure it was at least $300 in propane refill they rather not get in sales, since that customer packed their cylinder and left after buzzing the bell and waiting for a long time.I went to White Bear Rental five minutes away and got my tanks refilled along with classic customer service! $24 total for two empty tanks! I will never return to this U-Haul for anything again.

Young kids running this place. No professionalism. The prices are right, so I guess you have to put up with poor customer service. One particular young lady was really rude on Sunday. I dont recommend this place. I would highly recommend employee training on what good customer service looks like.

Reserved online so I wouldn’t need to go in the shop during pandemic. Van wasn’t where app said it would be in their lot. Keys weren’t available in drop box. Couldn’t go in to get the keys because I didn’t bring a mask because I wasn’t expecting to need to go inside. Took 30 minutes before staff came outside to help.

Wish i could give it zero stars.... the level of service provided by the staff is down right terrible, very slow, the manager enjoys talking down to people and treating them with no respect, costumers included. this is the location to avoid. unless corporate cracks down on this location for its many shortcomings its an unusable service. i feel bad for all who have to experience this place.

Very slow service and unprofessional. I had a reservation and it still took an hour. Seems like kids are working here and they dont have training to work with customers. Finally had to go outside to call 800 number and get things moving. I will not use this location again.

It concerns me that so many reviews about this location are negative. I wonder what the disconnect here is and I hope UHaul resolves it so that more customers have the exceptional experience that I did. Kayla was fantastic, made everything from picking up my equipment to returning it a breeze. I look forward to doing business with her again. I also look forward to them resolving the other matters that the reviews here address.

I scheduled a trailer hitch install for 7-18-2020 with this uhaul, and get there and the date is changed. They said I set it up for next week 7/25 which is total bs because Ill be out of town, which is why I scheduled it for $&#^#^#& today. Jamie Woody (Manager) basically said it is what it is. This place is useless, and a big waste of time.

I was at this location last friday trying to refuel 3 gas propanes. There were 3 guys at the site and 1 of the employee was directing the other 2 employees around. The same employee was no help at all. He would ask each customer what they need but if it was something else than renting he couldnt help. I waiting over 30 minutes inside. 1 of the employee told me to bring my gas propanes to the refueler and wait. I then waited for another 20 minutes in the hot sun. I had enough and left to menards to swap propanes and it was less then 3 minutes. Also there were at least 6 customers waiting outside and waiting for other things. Do not appreciate their customer service.

Worst place ever, came in for a refill waited almost 40 min. Only reason I waited was because I had already wasted enough time. 2 guys working on 2 customers for over 30 min each while another customer walking back and forth from the counter yelling that the store manager was rude and the services was horrible. I ended up walking out and going to McKnight rds like fishing store. They did it in 5 min.

Worst place ever they had trucks in their parking lot a whole bunch of them but when we went to go rent one now and he said there was none available he was super rude and even greet us well customer service horrible and not only that the last time we went the lady said it that are told it would be only $89 we rented a U-Haul for about an hour when we came back she told us that it was over $200 and we know she stole the money because we went from Roseville to Maplewood thats only 10 miles this place is awful they meet new people

Lady on the phone that scheduled us was very nice yesterday morning. She said they had the parts and would be able to install the trailer hitch at 9am Sunday. When we got there they said they didnt have someone available to install the trailer hitch and although they had the part it was now reserved for someone else!!! So why didnt they call us and let us know this before we drove out here?!!! Sorry and We could do it next Friday just doesnt quite cut the inconvenience!!!

Rented a small trailer for a long weekend. Due to a combination of things, I ended up taking a different trailer than what was on my contract/paperwork. When I returned the trailer, the staff was very helpful and after sorting things out, discounted my rental. Ill be back!

Stopped in THREE times for a simple one day rental. First time, they screwed it up. Second time, they lost the reservation. Third time, they required money to give me an estimate.I found the staff inept, ill informed, lack of common courtesy at every contact. I wont recommend them to anyone. Ive had to rent here several times. Every time there has been a huge line. Sloooooooww service. When you rent, they have all of your information and somehow it still takes them 20 minutes per person to re-enter your information. Always under staffed.

I usually dont write negative reviews. In fact this is my first negative review ever. I found my experience at this store so bad that I felt it is important for me to make others be aware. I rented a truck that was advertised as 15 truck to move a long piece of trim. When I got to my destination, they could not fit the piece in the truck as the floor space of the truck was only 12 long. When I went back, they told me that including the upper compartment it is 15. At the end, they made me pay for a truck that I never used and they refused to rent me a longer truck. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.I will avoid this location and most definitely U-Haul from this point on.

I should have read these reviews before buying a hitch online because my frustrating experience matches multiple other prior reviews. The online installation scheduling is useless, as I got a call saying the appointment I signed up for was not available and it would be the following week before I could schedule installation. I tried to cancel the online hitch purchase in order to re-do it at a branch that could schedule installation sooner, but was told (by a customer service rep over the phone) that I would need to still pay $44 freight (because freight was non-refundable) and that the installation fees could not be transferred from one branch to another. So, I waited over a week and scheduled the hitch installation from noon to 2:00pm. I arrived early. I asked about the status at 1:40 pm, and they said it would be a half hour. I said I needed to leave at 2:00pm. I could see from the surveillance screen that no one was working on my car. At 2:10, we were not close to a resolution and I was unwilling to stay any longer, so they voided the entire transaction. I am pleased to get a full refund, but I still am left with no hitch and so many questions about the process. They clearly prioritize walk-in customers over pre-set appointments because I watched them serve customer after customer at the counter while my car sat untouched despite my allotted appointment slot. I wasted a lot of time on various phone calls, a half a day at the branch, and am back in square one with no hitch.

I needed to rent a trailer, and I was in a hurry. The new owner helped me out, and she was above and beyond friendly and helpful. I got everything I needed and was out in 15 minites. When I returned my trailer they had just closed, but an employee still offered to check in my trailer so I wouldnt have to do it online. I would recommend this location to anyone!

I rented a 10 ft truck and a four wheel auto hauler from this location. The staff is quick and friendly, theyre very knowledgeable and very heplful. When I picked up my truck they were busy and the line was long, there was a wait but the staff worked very hard to help everyone quickly. The left hand of this organization does not know what the right hand is doing. I arranged for a hitch install over the phone, gave the U-Haul representative a credit card number and detailed information, and received an email invoice confirming the service work. I brought the car in and was told they could not do the work until 9 days later. If I would have known the work was going to be delayed I would have scheduled the work elsewhere. Not a happy camper.

Ive rented Uhauls in the past and have had no issues until recently. This location is by far the worst!! I rented a Uhaul for a day only to get an additional whopping $600 charge for a cracked windshield. Upon calling them I spoke to the manager by the name Jamie Woodie who now claims they had to replace an entire windshield due to rock chips. Really?? She also gave me an attitude saying well, you wouldve avoided all this if you had checked the $14 insurance.She also stated she recently replaced 6 other windshield due to rock chips. (How many other poor clients have been cheated as well???) I am currently working with the VP of this company to hopefully get some sort of resolution. On top of that the Uhaul I rented had really bad brakes which could of been a safety hazard. I felt like they stoled my hard working $600 to replace their brakes on the Uhaul. I would NOT recommend this place and will no longer work with Uhaul in the future. Very unethical practices, feel free to read others reviews.

If you absolutely have to use this location (like I did) ask for Ming. Hes the only one who doesnt have his head up his ass. The old guy was cordial but completely oblivious and couldnt even operate the phone correctly. The fat dude in the parking lot just yelled at everyone who pulled in and said cant park there over and over and over. I parked in a trailer spot that was nowhere near anything and he still had a problem with it! Ive delt with U-Haul alot lately and this seems to be a common thing. If you can tie your own shoes, dress yourself and get to work, U-Haul will hire you. No talent, no skill? No problem! Hired!

Poor customer service and long waits. Lady left after helping a customer with a long line and could see her outside smoking. Had some wiring done and tested it after I got home and it didnt work. When I called to have it fixed the woman on the phone was not very polite and seemed annoyed. Not what I expect when the mistake wasnt mine.

The wiring was exposed on our trailer and i believe that caused the left lights to not work. The staff is always very helpful and get you what you ask for in a timely manner. I would go back surely because of the location and hrs.

How about tell your co workers and employee to keep their personal issues to themselves, people dont need to hear personal issues while trying to get a truck or trailer, hey you have a job to do be proffesional if you cant work a day or two then why have a job? I dont need to know you have issues with your own boss and scheduling. I dont need to knoe you have a new girlfriend and how and where you found her. Second of all if a customer doesnt know certain things try and explain instead of rolling your eyes and act like you know it all, overall the equipment was decent, checkout was longer then expected. No other customers were around and it took awhile (I was there at 7 AM no other customers ) The maplewood off of whitebear ave, I wouldnt recommend it. Unless you want a jerry springer or maury live tv show then go there.

Terrible service!!! They could of kill me. I went and refill my propane tank and I left home and it was leaking from the bleeder on the valve. I took it back and all they did was release some propane out and I went home and it was still leaking!!! I search it up and its because the break screw wasnt tight after filling so I did that myself. So much for a certified propane employee.

This is one of the worst Uhaul locations Ive been to, and Ive used Uhaul many times in the past. Arrived on time for my reservation only to wait in line for 50 minutes because there was only one clerk to serve 8 customers. And youd think with that kind of wait the employee would show some urgency to get people moved along quickly. Nope. They also didnt even know if the trailer I reserved was available. Didnt have anything ready, not even the moving blankets I reserved. So I had to sit and wait and watch as they pulled used blankets out of a dirty pile on the floor and crudely crammed them into a plastic bag for me. Oh, thanks.

They opened on time so I am giving them two stars. I pressed the button at the propane fill station for help and waited. 10mins later I walked in to the store to be told that there is only one person to fill propane but he also installs the hitches so there was a 2 hour Wait. Paid for a 24 hour rental, but I stated I should have the truck back by 5pm. When I got there to pick up the truck at my scheduled pick up time it was about a 45 minute wait. As I was moving the owner called to ask if I would be back by 5, I told him I was running a little late. Over the phone this seemed like no big deal. When I returned the truck about 45 minutes late, he charged me for another 24 hours. He told me that there was nothing I could do, and when I said Ill take the truck for another day, he would not give me the keys back and told me it was already reserved. When I asked if I could speak with a manager, he told me he was the owner and there was nothing I could do about it. Terrible customer service, and a very customer is wrong attitude. These guys know they can stick it to you and will at any chance. If you rent from them, state you will keep the rental for the FULL 24 hours, or you will pay for it.

Came in a couple weeks ago or so and the guy at the front desk was rude and unwelcoming. I’ve watched him handle other customers and walked out. Couldn’t let that man service me. Apparently he is the manager Christopher McCurdy. How can Uhaul let someone like him manage and represent their company. He was even rude to his own staff. they are under-staffed. that is no excuse to be uptight esp to a customer. Uhaul customer for years and but wouldn’t come to this location for that reason only. In fact I wouldn’t use Uhaul services at all if they support this man to be behind their desk with their name on him. 😡

Zero Customer Service and Dishonest. Scheduled a truck from Thursday to Sunday. When I picked the truck up the customer service rep told me it was due back Saturday. Spent all day Friday on the phone with the call center and regional office to have them give me the extra day. I told them they werent giving me anything other than what I agreed to pay for. Sure enough go to return the truck and again they said I owed for an extra day. Moving sucks to begin with, I dont want to waste time with ignorance from a truck rental company.

Staff unprofessional and not trained for high volume customer service. Only one guy was working trying to bring a line of 6 or 7 people down. Shortly after a woman comes in trying to help and credit card system was down. After like 8 attempts of running my card thru it finally worked. Onsite staff is helpful and polite but all reservation system are done by computer and theyre office and one on Hudson road were both having problems which has caused major delays and look great lines at the counter.Fellow told me where to sign, then as I read form, realized he had me sign for insurance without informing me of it being a purchase. Only $14, but its still my money and should have been informed prior to being told what specific line to sign on. Ill discuss with them when I return truck, but what are the chances of a refund after the fact?I informed them that their Internet system only permitted me to reserve up to 12 blankets, but I wanted 18. He changed the contract as I requested. He pulled up the rental truck and went back in for the blankets and dolly. I went back to pull items from my vehicle. When I returned he had the back of the truck closed. I asked if the blankets and dolly had been loaded and he affirmed. I then opened it and saw two bundles of blankets in sealed cellophane bags and the dolly, so closed it and left.When I arrived at the house to move, we pulled the blankets and found 6 per bag, so only received 12. Made an immediate call to the store ohone number on the contract which was a centralized call number and not the store. She said just tell them you need 6 more when you go back.Heavy workload and many different responsibilities for the staff, but disappointed in delays and required return trip - for which I will need to drive the uhaul, so will likely get charged additional mileage as a redult.

I had to leave my items in storage as I moved across country. When I made out back a month later I found mice nesting in my unit. They chewed up quite a few of my belongings, including a stuffed monkey my deceased mother loved and I kept as a memento. Thanks, U-Haul.

Horrendous, Teng, the store manager was the rudest person I have ever met.We rented a trailer from Uhaul to store some of our stuff while we were in the middle of moving, when I went back to retrieve my belongings, Teng wouldnt give back our trailer because I didnt have a second phone number to give him. He stated swearing at me and my wife and refused to allow us to get back our belongings.We ended up calling their headquarters in order to get back our stuff. It was ridiculous.

Rude staff, poor management. Staff is apparently overworked. They are unprofessional. Usually crowded and promised/reserved equipment often not available when people come to pick it up. Go someplace else.

Went to refill propane. But apparently the employees there were too busy to just stand around and told us that apparently someone soon will come help. Waited 30 minutes and no one came. Went back several minutes and no one came. The service here is too bad.

I just recently (yesterday) had a trailer hitch installed and after being told that it would be approx. 1 1/2 hours by the general manager, I expected the car to be done around 11 am (dropped it at 9 am)...it did not get done until 1:15 pm in the afternoon...Never planned on wasting 1/2 my Sunday waiting for a hitch to be installed. Then the guy working told me that no one should have told me an hour and a half...because it takes longer than that....wow...really? I googled and apparently someone else had the same experience...but it was only 2 1/2 hours....

25 minutes in line to get the truck. Arrived at Slumberland and there was a foot of snow on the truck bed. Thankfully they had a shovel. Took 30 minutes to check out as there was one employee. The $19.95 truck came to $42 after Rental Fess. Kind of a joke.
