I recently had a desk restored by Woodart Furniture Refinishing. Miles Seymour, the owner, was very responsive to my questions. The wood veneer on the desk was beginning to come up and was very very brittle. Miles fixed the veneer, refinished the top, and replaced the wood brace that was missing between the two legs. He also fixed one of the lock keyholes and gave me a key.Miles explained the restoration process and set my expectations. When he was finished, the result exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Woodart Furniture Refinishing and would use them again
Miles did a wonderful job refinishing my great-grandmothers table and chairs. The work is professionally done and the finished product is beautiful. We will a returning customer.I was recommended to him by my grandmother. She had living room furniture reupholstered and loved the results as well. Thanks, Miles!
Miles called me and and we had a chance to talk about what I asked to have done to my moms desk. She has had it at least 30 years and its still a good desk. Miles apologized for his previous conversation and I did accept his apology. He took a moment and called and I see that as a personal touch.
I requested quotes for work, and he asked me to text pictures. I sent him 4 pictures and and then he asked for additional pictures. I ended up sending him 8 pictures and he sent a text reply that he will get back to me on that day with a quotes. After two weeks of no response from him, I sent him an email, and he responded that I confused him! He asked that i call him. I called him and he angrily yelled and stated that he is too busy and has too many customers. He is very rude and unprofessional
I have a very old love seat of my grandmothers that was damaged recently. Miles did a thorough evaluation and estimate. The work was excellent. I am so pleased. It looks beautiful, is very strong and can now be used again. Would definitely use him again.
I couldnt complete a project myself so I called the team at woodart. They were able to do a job in 3 days that I was working on for 3 weeks
I had a couple of 40 year old rosewood chairs that were broken by a moving company. The legs were literally shattered and the frames broken off. Im a professional woodworker and wood artist, but even I wasnt comfortable trying to fix these myself the damage was so extensive. I went to Miles and being in the industry myself immediately knew that he knew his business. He fixed both chairs within the timeframe he promised and within the price (very reasonable) that he quoted. They are sturdy and professionally repaired. Ill go back to Miles for any future furniture repair I need. Just outstanding. Attached are before and after pics.
I took my grandfathers hand-made wooden carpentry trunk to Miles for restoration and he made it absolutely beautiful. It looked really bad initially and Id been quoted BIG bucks to restore it, but Miles did an incredible job for half the price Id been quoted. He appreciated the pieces age and workmanship and was very careful to limit his work to what would enhance the final product. Five stars for Miles and his crew!
Miles did an awesome job repairing my 100 year old rocker. I highly recommend him with your antiques. Thank you Miles!
What a treasure! Fine craftsmanship, wonderful repairs to my old chair. Cant say enough good things about Miles and his work. Highly recommend.
I found Miles Seymour/Woodart via Google. Based on pics I sent him he came by and estimated the price range to refinish two pieces. He explained the process and difference between refinish and restoration to manage our expectations for his service. He does not provide time estimates for finishing a project because he is an artisan and perfectionist and guarantees his work. During his visit he explained in detail the issues pertaining to the two pieces, what he needed to do to each piece, and how the pieces would look when finished. We are very pleased with the results and highly recommend him.
We have 40 year old kitchen chairs that we wanted refinished to match our beautiful butcher block table. Woodart Furniture Refinishing and Repairs did an OUTSTANDING job removing the old finish and advising us as to the best new finish, which allows the beautiful wood grain to show. They look like new and we are delighted. The owner is immensely talented and did this job for a reasonable fee.
I thought I had completely ruined my mid-century modern buffet table in the dining room - having let water unknowingly seep into the wood for a week or so then putting salt on the stains and forgetting the salt! I swear I am not an idiot - but thank GOD for Miles. He refinished the piece and even though he told me he could not promise a good outcome, it came out nearly perfect. The stains were horrendous and now they are almost invisible. I cant say enough about Miles. He came and picked up the piece, delivered it back, and probably did not charge what he should have!
Excellent quality, craftsmanship and service. Miles stripped and stained our dining room set. He put his heart into the project and every detail. He is a true artist--trust his opinion. We are very pleased with his work. He is very prompt and easy to reach. Our set was in and out within a month and a half.
Miles did an excellent job repairing and finishing the treasured pieces I inherited from my grandparents. His work was thorough, impressive, and artfully completed. I recommend Miles and Woodart to those seeking expertise and advice on the best way to ensure an heirloom is treasured forever.
This business had the top reviews so, of course, I contacted them. I have an in-home daycare, so getting my dining table repaired quickly was vital. My experience with them was great! After explaining my situation, they accommodated me. My table is now better than when I purchased it! I definitely recommend this business!!!
Good work done on basic restoration. For more involved work (such as using wooen pegs per a period piece and keeping inlay as original) I would not recommend.
Miles Seymour, owner and founder, is an unbelievably true artist in the furniture refinishing and restoration world. We have had four pieces of antique furniture restored to perfection by Miles. The last piece was a circa 1934 Hunt Board that was in very bad shape. It is now a treasured show piece in our home. My wife was so pleased she gave him the biggest hug I have ever seen her give anyone. We will always ask Miles to restore any future furniture we acquire. We consider Miles a true friend.
Miles Seymour of Woodart Furniture Refinishing just restored a round oak table and chairs that had belonged to my mother. I am so happy! He did an excellent job and he explained the process in great detail. He was very honest and sincere. It is obvious Miles is the best in furniture restoration! He does exceptional work! Thank you Miles!
Several of the doors on our custom Cherry cabinets were showing noticeable wear. Miles was kind enough to take on the task of restoring them.. This was not a simple task considering that the past two months have been unusually cold and wet. The additional challenge was that the company that made the cabinets had gone out of business so we could not provide a color formula! The doors were reinstalled today and look just as beautiful as when the initial renovation was complete. The color is a perfect match! I would gladly contact Miles again when we need any treasured furniture restored.
Miles restored a family antique that was a wreck. His sense of bringing the best out of the wood was perfect and he handled all features like pulls, hardware, reassembly with such care. This sewing table looks better than it has in 100 years, lovely satin finish and beautiful color. I would trust any piece with Woodart for restoration, refinishing or repair. Thank you! Kate B.
I initially had taken an issue with the expectation of the service in terms of the repair of my china cabinet door. Miles is a gentleman and made all efforts to ensure that the repair was to my liking. I appreciate his work and would recommend that others reach out to him for repair of their fine furniture.
Miles took a 23 year old table and chairs and made them look better than new. We wanted to maintain the character of the set but update the look. Miles was careful to explain the process and any potential issues. His attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship resulted in a product that my wife and I are thrilled to own. I would highly recommend Miles for any furniture restoration project. You will not be disappointed with the end result.
Miles is very experienced and has extensive knowledge of how to refinish quality wood furniture the proper way. When he is finished, you will have beautifully restored furniture, with a finish that will likely be superior to the original. He is truly an artist! We have used this company twice: once to restore our kitchen table and to repair and reupholster four chairs. And more recently, we refinished a dining room table and six chairs that we purchased at a consignment store. In both cases, the furniture looks brand new. We are thoroughly pleased with the results and give A Woodart our highest recommendation.
We are delighted with the beautiful work Miles has done for us! He has miraculously restored 2 chests of drawers, a very old corner chair, and an early American desk, all of which have been in our family for many generations. He is a true craftsman, who loves these pieces. It certainly shows by the new life he breaths back into them! His prices are very reasonable, especially considering the exceptional quality work he performs. These furniture items are not only of monetary value, but of great sentimental value to me. We are so thankful we found Miles and entrusted him with the renovation of our family treasures! Thank you!
Miles just recently refinished a dry sink for me. This piece belonged to my mother and father and is a piece with a lot of childhood memories. The finish was looking rough and there were several rings on the top ledge. Miles did a wonderful job of refinishing it, looks new again. Thank-you Miles.
Miles restored my Grandmothers antique Coffee Table that the leg had broken completely off, back to Perfection. This table is very special to me and he took much time and effort to restore it to its original state. It is Mahogany Wood and he gave me great advice in the best way to restore it and bring out the beauty of the wood. The table is very sturdy as he had to repair and reattach the leg. Miles is a Prodessional who is very Passionate about his work. He takes time to do the job correctly and will make sure you are pleased with the finished product. I highly recommend Miles!!!!
Miles was simply amazing! Speak with him once, and youll see how passionate he is about his work. He transformed a 30+ year old wood table/chair set into something we will treasure for a long time. We called him, based on such raving reviews, on a random Saturday and he was at our home, assessing/quoting our project in less than 2 hours! He remained very responsive throughout, and provided just the right guidance, so that we could be involved in making the best choices for color, finish, etc. for the project. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Miles for ANY project you might be considering. You wont be disappointed!
Miles did a fantastic job repairing two of my dining room chairs, each with a broken leg. He was even able to make a new leg since I couldn’t find one of the legs. A true craftsman.
It was one week before Christmas when the seat disintegrated and started to fall out of our old cherished bentwood rocking chair. My 4 grandchildren are going to be with us for Christmas, ages 4 months to 3 years old, and rocking in that rocking chair is what we all love to do! (This chair goes back 40 years with our own kids.) Miles was very busy when I called him but he promised he would try to fix it in time for us. It was wonderful to get Miles’ text that he had just finished our chair, on a Sunday and 2 days before Christmas. Not only is the repair perfect, but he also cleaned and polished the chair. It looks like new!Miles is a man of his word, and he is also a true craftsman of fine furniture. We enthusiastically and highly recommend Miles if you are looking for a talented, hard working professional who also provides his service reasonably priced.
Miles was excellent, efficient and reliable. I had two pieces that were antiques and in desperate need of repair and polishing. Miles gave me a play by play on what he would be doing to each piece and what it would cost. He stayed in the given price range and my pieces not only came back weeks before I expected them to be finished they look amazing and better than I had hoped. I would use him again and again and would highly recommend him for your fine furniture repair and restoration. Could not be more pleased!!
Miles is a gifted man that takes his work seriously. You have to have some patience with him as he takes his time with your pieces. Sometimes it may be hard for him to articulate the work or the steps that need to be done, but nevertheless he is worth every penny. Refinished 1942 sears-roebuck dresser that belong to grandmother when she was 13. A timeless piece
Miles did a beautiful job of repairing my antique trunk. You cant even tell which leg is the one that was broken off. You can be sure that I will use him again if I need other furniture restored or repaired. You will not find anyone who will do a better job. He is a true craftsman.
Miles did an amazing job breathing life back into my great-grandmother’s china closet and buffet. He provided me with expert advice when I wasn’t totally sure which direction to go, but let me choose what I wanted every step of the way. He kept me informed about my pieces along the way and met every deadline he set. Everything was done professionally and kindly, which I really appreciated! I could not speak more highly of him. If you go with someone else you’re crazy, you won’t get better quality than with Miles Seymour!!
Miles is simply amazing! He is the Michelangelo of furniture restoration! Over the last 10 years he as restored several family heirlooms that were 75+ years old, many of which are irreplaceable because natives of that country hand carved the pieces. Somehow Miles is able to reach back into the history of the piece and visualize what the original looked like, repair & refinish it back to its original condition. Mikes isnt just good he is a miracle worker! He deserves 20 stars!!Thank You Miles
Mr. Seymour did an awesome job with repairing (2) two wood bed rails and a bed slab that I had. He kept me from having to spend a lot of time and money as well as experiencing frustration with trying to find bed rails that would coordinate with my headboard and foot board. I definitely recommend Mr. Seymour to anyone who has any wood furniture that needs to be repaired and restored.
They were able to take a very old table that need a lot of love and return it to me perfect! Such attention to detail such care with the integrity of each piece. You will not be disappointed or have a bad experience. They are professional and perfect in their art ! Thank you !!!
I LOVE MY FURNITURE!! Miles is an absolute artist when it comes to furniture restoration. I purchased my dining table from a thrift shop and I took it to Woodart Restoration to have it cutomized. This was the best decision that Ive made regarding my furniture to date. My customized dining table is now a family heirloom, and will remain within our family for years to come. Miles absolutely hit the mark... my husband and I could not be more pleased.
Miles restored my family heirlooms as well as other pieces. They are just beautiful,. After years of neglect they look just like I remember as a child. The beauty just shine through. The other pieces look better than they did when we bought them!
Miles picked up a dresser and restored it very well. He also worked on areas not part of the damaged area discussed. It was returned in under a week looking as good as it did before the damage. He was very positive and easy to talk to, and guaranteed his work.
Miles is the best. He works all the details out with me. He pays attention to the detail work and works hard to please me. His work is excellent and he’s honest and fair. You will not be disappointed
Miles restored a 70+ year old coffee table my grandfather made in his high school wood shop class. The table was not in the best shape given its age. Also, being made by a high school kid to begin with it was not the most well built piece. However it has a lot of sentimental value to me and my family. Miles was able to repair several pieces of the table that were loose or had completely fallen off - the table is structurally sound again! He also stained it a beautiful dark color after explaining to me the best way to bring out the grain in the wood. Overall Id be happy to recommend Miles.
I took a pile of wood chair pieces from my grandfathers desk chair to the shop and Miles turned it back into a chair. The work was completed earlier than planned and the chair looks better than I could have imagined. I would highly recommend this company for any furniture repair or refinishing needs.
I decided to surprise my husband by refinishing his grandfathers coffee table that, over years of use, was full of scratches, dings and endless watermarks. I was super freaked out at the idea of ruining it in an attempt to fix it since it had so much sentimental value to him.Miles set a very clear expectation, suggested a color path and consistently reasured me that it would be perfect once completed. And it was!! So perfect. My husband loved it! I loved it. Miles took such care in restoring this table. I could tell the way he first looked at it he really cared about the wood and getting it back to its perfect self. Thanks Miles! We will see you again, Im sure!
We have taken several pieces of antique cherry furniture to Woodart. Miles is a true artist in all that he does. The quality and attention to detail is outstanding. He also ensures satisfaction. He has earned our business as dedicated and loyal customers. We will never have a need to go anywhere else.Doug & ErikoMarietta, GA
We had two very old chairs that had been in my husbands fathers law office, which had suffered some weathering and damage when we had then stored. Miles not only made them beautiful again, but did so for a better price than anyone else we talked to before choosing to have him do the work. Miles is a true artist, who loves his work and it shows in everything he does.
Miles took my husbands great grandmothers kitchen table and restored it to a beautiful piece of furniture that will be enjoyed for many more years. He matched the leaves and fixed areas of contamination that would have left the finish worthless. We are deeply appreciative of his care of this treasured table.
I had 3 antique chairs restored! One of the chairs had a broken leg. The work was so well done that they look New! He picked up and delivered! The workmanship was very well done and cost reasonable!Carol Swisher
I recently moved to Atlanta from Austin. Before I moved, my friends son accidentally broke the top of the frame on the chair piece of my CB2 sectional. I called a few places in Austin to get it fixed, but they were almost as expensive as the original piece. I decided to wait until I moved to Atlanta, and Im glad I did because I found Miles at A Woodart Furniture Restoration. He picked up the piece, fixed the frame, had the upholstery beautifully re-sewn, and delivered it back to me in less than two weeks at a very reasonable price. It looks wonderful and is actually better than new since he replaced the broken piece with more sturdy wood. I really appreciate his kindness, ethic, and terrific service. Would highly recommend his business.
Miles is fantastic and aims to please! Our antique pine table got broken in a move. Since my mother gave it to us we couldnt just leave it. Miles secured the broken area and stabilized the whole apron/leg structure, which had gotten rickety over the years. He stripped the finish and showed us a lot of stain/finish options. The completed piece is fantastic and looks like it did when Mom purchased it all those years ago. We are so pleased.
I love the work Miles does on our antiques as well as our well used furniture. We have utilized Miles craftsmen ship for over 20 years. His work ethic is outstanding.... worth every dollar spent.
Miles did an amazing job transforming a pair of French chairs I bought secondhand. I shopped around for someone to both work on the wood and upholster. He was the only one that would tackle both. His pricing was fair and inline with others. But his work was far superior. Miles impressed me with his care and passion. He genuinely cared about getting it right and wanted to blow me away with the results. I really wanted my chairs back by Christmas and he made it happen. I’ve waited until now to write the review because I wanted to be sure they were still holding up. I’m still totallyin love with these chairs. Miles had previously repaired a dining room chair for me as well. This project was much bigger. He is most definitely my go to guy for furniture projects.
Miles restored a Lane coffee table & end table for us earlier this year. His work and work ethic is incredible and I’d recommend him highly to anyone wanting a loved piece of furniture restored. He’s a true craftsman! Teresa Long

Miles at A Woodart Furniture Restoration. picked my chairs and bed frame in less than two weeks at a very reasonable price. It looks wonderful and is actually better than new . Would highly recommend his business.
Miles is a true artisan! He does exceptional work. My early 20th century dining room furniture FINALLY looks as it should after his beautiful restoration (including water damage repair).
Mr. Seymour did an unbelievable job restoring a family piesafe originally built in 1800s. He and his team took a rusted and rickety piece and brought it back to life while keeping all original details and patina. We couldnt be more pleased with his work.
Miles did a beautiful job and in the time frame he gave me. He seems to enjoy and takes pride in restoring furniture, We were delighted with the results.
Excellent craftsmanship and good service. Honest and clear. Would use again
Fantastic job done on our kitchen table and chairs, beautiful color and I can definitely tell it will be long lasting!
Woodart is amazing. A severly damaged antique arrow table came back from the shop and looked dazzlingly new.He was even able to make an antique key from scratch! Its a fantastic place.
Nice guy, takes the time to inform you of the process and maybe a bit of history about the furniture you may not have known.
Seymour did not do what we initially agreed on .The work was very sloppy.I have had other work done by Craftsman, and Seymour is not a Craftsman. I gave $350 to refinish a small washstand. There are bubbles in the finish. I asked for the stains to come off the top and he argues that he wants to keep the patina, I explained in the beginning that I wanted the stains out and he said it would be more to do that, and increased the cost to $350- I just wanted it cleaned up without stains and with a smooth light to medium finish. He repaired a little handle and it looked horrible. Hes so argumentative, I threw away $350 .I was never upset with the price-I was upset that the work is sloppy and not what I asked for.I paid him just to get him to leave my home. Quite frankly, he scares me.
Quality work by a real craftsman
After consulting with friends and neighbors, searching the internet and interviewing several furniture refinisher/restorers, I was fortunate to find Miles Seymore at Woodart. We were delighted with the quality of our dining room table restoration. Miles is very conscientious and a true craftsman who takes great pride in his work. He is diligent and pays painstaking attention to detail. Miles surpassed our expectations and for the refurbishing of your high quality and antique furniture we recommend him with complete confidence.
Miles did a super job repairing damage from a move. He also took a Morris Chair that had belonged to my wifes grandmother and repaired it (it wasnt damaged in the move), and did a great job.
Miles did an incredible job repairing a built in bookshelf as well as a wooden buffet that our dogs had chewed on. His price was fair and the end result exceeded our expectations.
Miles repaired an old family hutch that fell apart when moving it down to our home. He listened to what we wanted fixed and it turned out lovely.
