Jay runs this place and hes a great guy. His prices are very reasonable, hes very knowledgeable, he does excellent work, and the turnaround times are very quick (1-2 days max). Ive asked him to service multiple Acura, Mazda, and BMW cylinder heads, and theyve come out perfect every time.If you need head work done, Jay is the man, and Cylinder Head Exchange is the place.
Service was awesome! The people here are VERY friendly and had everything from head bolts to gasket sets and for a great price! They were completely honest about the turnaround time and didn’t try to up-sell to a more expensive option! Will definitely return for any future needs!
Fast turnaround time, good quality for a great price. Very friendly will definitely come back.
It was quick and easy to work with them. They get back to your emails fast and answer all your questions. They did an excellent job and the work on my head was great. Right before Jay was leaving he was nice enough to get me water to fill up my coolant because it had all spilled out. He helped me out and was nice about it. Very great service and recommend them to anyone. 10/10
A good place to get automotive and truck motor work done. Ive taken a few sets of heads here over the last few years and have had no problems. They do a really good job and they will let you know if there is s problem. I would not hesitate to come back to this place and have more work done.
Great local business for Cylinder head repair. Quick turn around, quality, and attention to detail on my Chevy LS heads.
They could not help me with my project which is unfortunate. On the other hand I am giving 5 stars because they emailed me back in 30 minutes. That is fast! Thank yall for being honest and getting back to me in a super fast manner.
Great experience working with Jay and Cylinder Head Exchange. Fair price, quality work, great turnaround time, and a friendly attitude. Its refreshing to be able to enter a specialists shop and speak candidly with a craftsman about a project youre working on and get a good recommendation on the services needed without the haughtiness that usually is accompanying such discussions. I brought in a rather rare cylinder head from a Toyota 4AGE engine that doesnt even exist in the US and trusting the business to Jay was the right move. Easy recommendation for anyone needing a machinist who knows what hes doing. Bring your work to Cylinder Head Exchange. You wont be disappointed.
My teenage son is rebuilding his first motor and had his heads machined here. He has called back since then to source parts. The service and advice that he has received has been outstanding. Professional, competent and honest service seems to be the standard at Cylinder Head Exchange. Thank you.
They were awesome ! Made great conversation. Their prices are fair and they treated me with respect. Also since I live in Lawrenceville and didn’t wanna drive all the way back, they knocked mine out real quick. 10/10
I had my E36 BMW M3 head rebuilt at Cylinder Head Exchange. Great guidance from Jay up front and craftmanship during. The head looked like new when I got it back, wow! You sure that was my original head? :-) Great work, attention to detail. Would use them again and highly recommended. Oh, and the car runs like a dream.
Jay and his team did an excellent job on my 1.6 mazda head. They filled in a number of problem areas and the finished product looked like it just came off the factory line. They even saved me some money by not touching the areas that didnt need to be rebuilt. Overall a very honest, hard working shop and gave a quick turnaround.
The best around, fastest service by far! Ive always had incredible service at a more than fair price have never had a problem with any of their work in The Last 5 Years using them. Granted, I deal mostly with Hondas, it is still impeccable service. You absolutely cannot go wrong.
Had a cylinder head rebuilt for a 2000 Honda Civic Si (B16A2 engine, PR3 head). New valves (all 16), valve guides, and three angle job on valve seats. Took them a little over a week, but It was clean when I got it back and flat. They even let me bring in my own parts. I waited to do this review until the head was re-installed and verified it was working on the car. Im pleased.
These guys are great! very knowledgeable, fair, and friendly. I dont mind spending my money at a place like this.highly recommend
Very honest. Jay stands behind his products and his work. I highly recommend. Very friendly as well.

Great guys to deal with. Knows there business.Have been relying on them for many years and always with great results.Would highly recommend them .
These people are the best and friendly services and had what I was looking for when I was having such a hard time trying to find it also, I was having such a hard time getting a way to pick up the parts and they brought the parts to me and I live around 34 miles away God Bless these great people!
My shop has been using cylinder head service, for more than 15 years, and always service has been great and never have any problems with any of the parts that I bought from them.
They did great work for me on my set of Pontiac heads will definitely bring more work to them in the future.
These guys know what theyre doing and are good at it too.
I took my Honda SOHC head to this shop for some light work.I asked to have my head disassembled, run through the parts washer, new valve guide stem seals installed and the head reassembled. When I went to pick it up...The rocker arm assembly wasnt even sitting flush with the rest of the head. I dont know how you can miss that, Im not a mechanic but its the very first thing I noticed and that there was a big red flag.( I waited a good while while they took my head back and attempted to have the rocker arm assembly sit flush )The parts wash could have been better, I wasnt expecting miracles but I wasnt expecting to see any debri in the head.Worst of it was a few new scratches and nicks... I had this head in my living room long enough to know the great lack of care taken by this shop when they worked on my head.Just questionable work over all. I even had an issue with the price I was initially quoted.Look, I dont want to bash yall but I wish Id gone somewhere else.I feel sorry for even taking my head there.Proceed with caution.* I have decided to update this review since I did get a reponse from the owner (Jay) that I failed to see sometime after I posted the initial review.I for one want to suggest your shop itemize the work your going to do and the price of said work before anything is done.In my case ( since I didnt opt for a full rebuild) I asked that you call me and let me know if there was anything you found that needed attention BEFORE the work was done so I could expect how much to pay on the day of pickup. I recieved no such call, just a call to tell me my head was DONE and ready to pickup. You pretty much said in your response that I walked away with and I quote free work done to my head.Ask Dover Cylinder head how much it was to rectify the shady work done at your shop. The bit about the parts wash revealing imperfections in the casting is also shady.I picked aluminum off with my fingernails (fresh DAMAGE) and PERSONALLY had you see where yall had gouged the valve cover gasket mating surfaces in what must have been a sorry attempt to pry the rocker arm assembly up and off of the head. ( it seems like yall cant take things off or put them back on ) & to think I paid to have 16 valve guide seals replaced here.Your response has done more damage than good, you went on about my percieved bad experience just to try and downplay things and hide the fact that I had a bad experience here.I dont want anything or do I expect any further response unless its a true apalogy for damaging my head.( Should I go on about the damage to the deck? The raised edge ( a nick ) on the deck surface right @ the edge of the combustion chamber on cylinder 3)?Dont worry Jay, I later had the head resurfaced by a true machinest.Ill respect an honest man who can admit a mistake ANY DAY over someone soley trying to cover up any mistakes. My stance on this place remains the same, proceed with caution. If you dont think this place is shady just think about the following,*** and I quote We did not charge you for removal or replacement of the rocker assembly. How would you replace the valve guide seals without removing the rocker arm assembly? How did you or ANYONE at your shop forget torque things back to spec? You probably didnt even torque it back down in the correct sequence. GOOFY.
Jay sorry for the confusion must of hit 3 stars while scrolling through my review have a great day
Fast and friendly!!!
Excellent service! They treat you wonderfully and their work is of very good quality. I recommend them!
