Popped in to grab caffeine for my drive back to Anderson. Tables were full with people working on laptops. Definitely a laid back place. Very nice employees. Nice, hipster-y interior with an upstairs area as well as outdoor seating. Hot chai tea tasted delicious!

Great Ambience! Its so relaxed and laid-back, kind of cozy. Ive been in town a little more frequently due to work and its nice to have found a good coffee shop to stop by when Im in town. I havent been able to explore their drinks as much as Id like to but so far so good, Ive liked what Ive had. The Blue Crane hot tea is so far one of my favorites, a little ironic maybe. Service had been good and Ive had a good experience in my few visits.

The barista was so sweet! She had a great conversation with us while she made the drinks and went above and beyond, doing things for us without even needing to be asked, like taking our picture and offering us a couple bonus treats at the end of the day! Atmosphere, food, and drinks were all great too! 😁

Best coffee in Grant County! Third-wave-like, few flavors, small variety, but very high quality coffee and kind staff. Excellent place for meetings or study, conveniently located by a bookstore and Dunham’s Sporting Goods.

For 34 years, I was not a coffee fan. The Abbey changed that.Fantastic coffee. Friendly, knowledgable baristas. Great music. Relaxed atmosphere. Delicious baked goods (their chocolate chip cookies are phenomenal). You will NOT be disappointed!

I am currently nestled into a corner seat, watching this awesome coffee shop come to life. To my right there is a large open room with a stage. Directly ahead is the coffee bar, and a well stocked book store is to the right. I am lucky enough, that I am here on a breezy Saturday morning. The garage door is open and they have some relaxing late 70s early 80s music going. It looks like a small farmers market is setting up out in front. Honestly, every town needs a spot like this.As for the coffee, it really doesnt get any better. I followed another reviewers advice and started with a vanilla latte. Absolutely delish! I am patiently awaiting the fresh scones to bake. In the meantime, I shall enjoy my latte and read a book. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!UPDATE: Pretty sure the Orange Chocolate Chip Scone is probably one of the yummiest things Ive had in a long time!

I know things arent normal because of Covid, but I think its ridiculous that if you want to shop in the Tree of Life store you have to go through the Abbey Coffee Shop. There was no one to assist me with finding what I wanted in the store. I wandered quite a while before I located what I wanted to purchase. Then I had to carry it over to the coffee shop to pay. It just seemed inconvenient and silly to not be able to use the door to the store and all the help was in the coffee shop.

A great place my friend was playing live music here. The coffee was fantastic and the owner roasts their own coffee beans. Great atmosphere and I enjoyed my time their with great hospitality and coaches. Nice cozy coffee chop which is well laid out. Alot of effort went into this coffee shop. I will be going back.

Great atmosphere great coffee! This is a very cozy and quaint place for a casual drink, meeting and study groups. Its adjacent to a bookstore and they have very comfortable chairs and couches in the main coffee bar area. Highly recommend this establishment over the local national chain coffee shop. The national chain doesnt have as comfortable seating arrangements, nor the more comfortable amount of space that Abbeys offers. Abbeys coffee and drink selections are reasonably priced so you dont feel guilty about getting an extra cup of coffee and a light snack or brunch along with it. Definitely recommend this local Marion favorite, especially to the local college students at Indiana Wesleyan University. This is a great meeting place for your study groups, clubs, fraternities or sororities, or just to hang out and socialize with your friends.

This was a real neat Coffee House with attached bookstore and Open Stage venue in the other room. The Barista was very good, the coffee tasted smooth, was very presentable, and I would love to have more of it. This is a place I would definitely go back to if I was in the area. The seating was plentiful and comfortable. Outside seating was available but would be more inviting when the weather turns considerably cooler. If youre in the area and would like good tasting coffee other than the chain store variety then I would certainly give this place a try.

When I come to Indiana from Ohio, I always try to stop here. The coffee is incredible, ethically sourced and unique. The people who work there genuinely care about you and their mission. Thanks Abbey!

Always try to make a point of coming to this place when my wife and I are in Upland. They have a great atmosphere and fantastic coffee and other drinks. My wife loves the ginger soda, and they serve the best nitrogen cold brew which I have had. It is great to be there in an evening when their outdoor propane fire pit is lit up—no smoke smell but very warm and a great place for conversation. I am also impressed by the large variety of community events which they host in their space including the farmers market and networking events. Definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

I always enjoy the coffee here, and a big shout out to Levi for his care and attention to the roasts.One note to keep in mind, the roasts are intentionally on the lighter side. For those that only drink darker coffee, you may be disappointed, but I would encourage you to give it a try. The lighter roasts can bring out much better fruit and citrus notes that you just wont find otherwise.

Best coffee in Indiana. Their whole bean coffee is excellent with a wide range of different single origin coffees. The espresso bar is traditional with a mix of modern drinks. The staff is knowledgeable and very polite.

First time visiting this place and LOVED it! The barista recommended the cortado and it was AMAZING! Will definitely be back.

Cool vibes and kind staff! Large open space available for rent and lots of tables for studying. On Saturdays it may be so crowded that you won’t find an open table, although there is lots and lots of seating — from couches to bar seating.

What a peaceful, easy feeling place. This is the art of coffee at its best. Lavender latte, honey miel and all fresh roasted beans made this so worth the detour off I-69. I even picked up the wrong drink by mistake and they graciously just made another at no charge and no scold. People were quietly chatting, studying, and experiencing the mellow tunes in this spacious hipster venue that is truly unpretentious.

I absolutely LOVE Abby Coffee Shop and Roastery!! I am not even really a coffee drinker, but I love what they do there with their drinks. The baristas that work there are SO friendly and helpful, and are a true talent when it comes to their drinks. My very first time walking in, I was treated like a regular customer, a valued customer. They helped me out explaining what each drink was that I may like (one of the other reasons I love this place is due to their baristas and other employees) and what flavors I like. The atmosphere in the building was professional, peaceful, really relaxing over all. Lighting is beautiful. I will be a forever customer when I want a good cup of the many different drinks that are there!

If you are in to coffee culture (things like blubbery notes, melon, chocolate, or velvety mouth feel) then this is a good roastery. If your just want plain coffee, perhaps a Gas station is more suited to your taste (not being judgmental or condescending, just laying it like I would want it.).

Quiye possibly the best coffee place in Indiana - incredible coffee (I had the latte), very large place but split into 4 sections - main coffee shop, inside balcony overlooking main seating, outdoor chairs/tables (could use umbrellas), and a very large room next door that has a stage. On the other side of the coffee shop is a bookstore that is accessible from Abbey. The music is not normal coffee shop tunes, sort of alternative coffee shop music similar to some things played at Starbs.The beans are locally roasted in small batches, so there is a really good, true flavor experience...not the burnt taste that needs flavorings to hide.Staff was incredible and fun, even some patrons were doing a short dance when certain songs came on. Many were there studying, I was working in the balcony on a business trip.Definitely will return to try more beans!

Although I havent had their coffee, its still a great place to relax and read, or even study because of its calm atmosphere.

After 12 years in the coffee industry I can honestly say The Abbey is in its own league. Youd literally have to travel 150 miles to find a shop thats half as good. The roasters and baristas are stellar. Atmosphere is really great. Competition level baristas, urban decor, and coffee quality far beyond what youre accustomed to. It is a big city coffee shop in a little town.

The Cafe Miele is my go-to drink. If youre fortunate, you can be one of the few customers who get to enjoy their amazing chocolate chip cookies. They only make them every now and again, so you would do well to ask the barista about them.
