Absolutely amazing staff and ice cream. So much better than Dairy Queen. Their cheesecake freeze actually have plenty of cheesecake unlike DQ and I dont have to pay for the extra. Their flavor burst ice cream has more flavor than any place I have ever been that has it. The black cherry flavor burst has pockets of flavor that when eating will look like its bleeding and is the coolest and most delicious thing ever. Also them thinking to put a whole slice of pie into ice cream is genius. The fact that its Kathys pie make it taste like it was sent from the heavens. Best place to get a treat and cool off hands down.

People need to get a clue on how to drive properly. The turning lane is for both ways, do not sit in the middle of the street illegally blocking off traffic.

Wow. This was such a treat! My husband ordered Kathy’s pie Freeze which was a slice of local strawberry rhubarb pie blended with ice cream and I ordered a chocolate covered banana - EXCELLENT. The owner also told us the history behind the business and was incredibly kind! Support your local small businesses and treat yourself :)

I offered my 3yr old nephew DQ, because it is next to his house. His reply was No I want The Freeze so we drove across Cedar Rapids to get The Freeze. So listen to the 3yr old, he knows his ice cream!!

Such a great place! We’ve been stopping by quite a bit lately, and everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. My daughter has been loving the varieties of Flavor burst cones they have. I’ve tried multiple freezes and sundaes, and I’m always impressed with the amount of mix-ins and toppings they put in. The portions are very generous. Another thing is, the staff is always very pleasant. Thanks for providing a place that my family always looks forward to visiting!

Great local ice cream shop with traditional soft serve ice cream and other yummy treats. They even have a doggie sundae with a small bit of ice cream and a dog treat in the top. There is outdoor seating, a drive up window, and many pedestrians and bicyclers stop by.

Their version of loaded icecream shake is far superior than anyone elses. Oreo, mint chocolate; chucked full of oreos. Ice cream cone with crunches, small, is huge and my go-to choice. All for a minimal price.

Best and cheapest ice cream in the metro area. Also they make really big cones, much larger than any other ice cream shop that Ive been to. Plus its got kinda of a retro50s / 60s look which Im a fan of.

This is easily my favorite ice cream place in Marion. The staff is super friendly. The ice cream is delicious and at a fair price. Be prepared to wait a little as the line my be a little long, but that only speaks to the number of people who love getting their ice cream at The Freeze.

Young employees with happy attitudes, accurate with the cash register and the food orders. There was a line and they seemed to work together as a team well to keep up to pace with the demand. I visit The Freeze about every 2 months. Yum!

Hands down the best soft serve ice cream you can get. It puts Dairy Queen to shame. The crunch coat is much higher quality then you can find at Dairy Queen. The girls working there are exceptionally friendly and fun. I just cant Rave about this place enough. Anytime Im in the mood for ice cream its only the Freeze that can really satisfy me.

I was just there today, the people were super friendly and the ice cream was delicious. The Reeses were actually visible in my ice cream unlike parlor citys dust they sprinkle on. This place is fantastic and its always nice to support a local business.

The Freeze is our favorite ice cream place in Marion! They just reopened for the season and even with the weather still being cold we HAD to stop in for friendly service and delicious soft serve :) a great Marion staple.

A nice family run soft serve ice cream joint on the edge of Marion. I cant wait for warm weather and the time that they open up to begin serving their ice cream.

Despite its name, The Freeze is a local hotspot during the summer months. It is conveniently located within walking distance of many different parks and schools, which makes it a great place for young teens and preteens to visit. It is also very affordable for families to go there for sweet treats. Even four-legged family members often get to join in the fun, as this location serves doggy delights (vanilla ice cream with a milkbone). No matter how busy it gets (there are usually a couple of rushes during the day), the staff are positive and genuinely happy to help, and service remains prompt.
