Ive been to the only Authorized BMW dealer that sell new cars in town a feww miles away....Ill never go back there again! Each time I felt robbed and mislead, not to mention the next day would be another engine light after their alleged repair. But not at Tommy Mathews auto repair, excellent service. People who walk in integrity and look the customer in the eye and tell them the truth. They Listened to my needs and went the extra mile.

Tommy Mattewes came highly recommended, and because of that recommendation, I utilized them for a battery diagnostic about a month ago.When my vehicle would not start a week ago, once the vehicle did start, I drove it to Tommy Mathewes, and I utilized their drop key and text messaging service to inform them of the issues with the vehicle.I checked on the status and was told that they were working still to ensure the issue was handled correctly, upon receipt of the vehicle, I was told of what had been repaired by the service technician and it was also listed on my service bill.After reading the issues they occurred in serving the vehicle, I was more than pleased that I took my vehicle to them, and recommend anyone with a BMW, also utilize their services.

I went to Carmax but they had a 3 week wait, Butina told me to go to Tommy Matthews. She gave me my warranty information to give to them because my BSD (Blind Side Detection system) light came on yesterday.I dont know the mans name at Tommys but he took my warranty information and they took my car to the back. He came back to the desk and asked if my car was ever in an accident? I said yes so he said the business that fixed my car didnt calibrate the BSD system and then he walked back to the back.He should have given two options, 1 take it back to the business that fixed my car (in September 2020) or 2 ask my permission before fixing my car.He didnt say anything about it not being covered under my warranty. He didnt even call my warranty company. He came back and said that it will be $124.00. I said thats what my warranty is for. He said that theyre not going to cover it. I said why not, he just that theyre not. I told him that he should have gotten my permission before calibrating my car because I would have taken it back to the business that fixed my car. I know its because Im a woman. If I was a man, he would not have just calibrated my car without my approval. What if I didnt have the money to pay. Would they not have released my car?I called the business that fixed my car, they said they would have calibrated for free and they also said that the man should have call my warranty company to see if it was covered!!I called and left 2 messages and no one called me back! He knew what he was doing but they just dont know that God doesnt like ugly and Tommy Matthews shop will suffer in the name of Jesus!!Tommys took advantage of me and I will ensure they pay for it!!

Took my 2007 bmw 335i twin turbo for some work. Something we thought was going to be a ton of money ended up not being so bad. We thought it was altenator but it was a bad battery and high pressure pump. They did the work in timely manner and called with updates every step of the way. Very informative! Very nice! Very reasonable! Will be taking my car back tax time to get the rear turbo replaced! Highly recommend!!

The main reason I take my BMWs to Tommy Mathewes is their honesty. I thought my repairs were going to get close to $1000 but Tommy did more research than I did and he even contacted BMW before calling me to inform me our 2011 car had an extended warranty for a defective part and that I should take it to the dealership. What other shop goes that extra mile? Time is money but he didnt charge me a dime for his time. God bless him and his business.

My car was service previously some big name dealership and when I paid them they gave it back to me with the same problem. I had a coolant leak and they didn’t even check to see where the leak was coming from....they just topped the coolant off. And 4 days later the coolant light was back on. I only drive it from dealership to home to work and parked it for two days and when I got back in it to drive the light was on. This could have been a major problem had it been over the up and coming holidays where I would normally drive out of town. I was furious!!! My hairstylist suggested Tommy because she takes her car their and thats what I did. I left it with him he called me back at the end of the day with a proper diagnosis found the leak and by the end of the following day my car was fixed and not just topped off the coolant. So guess who will be getting my business!

Thorough and complete auto care. I think the work this team does is very good and they have great resources for parts. Took car in...charged me 100 just to look at it. Need an O2 sensor, tune up and oil change for a 98 Camry. Quoted me 1700 for all. After calling around and speaking to numerous shops and mechanics all said that was way too much. Went and got my car back having someone come and do the repairs for 100. I pay for part which is roughly 200. Thats a 1400 difference. They will rape you of your life savings..do not go.

Told me that the camshaft was messed up and I needed to pay 5000$ when it was really the fuel injector that was the issue. BEWARE this place will try to scam people who know nothing about cars, and they think that they can trick unknowing people to empty their pockets on an made up issue!

I took my car here after being recommended by an employee of Advanced Auto Parts (AAP). My car overheated with coolant leaked. The employee of AAP and I diagnosed the problem to be the thermostat and a by-pass hose; however, AAP would take approximately one-week to get the parts. Therefore, I took it to Tommy Mathewes Auto Repair and told Randy, Tommy M employee, that it was leaking coolant from the thermostat. I took my BMW on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at about 1200 hours. By closed of business on Thursday, Randy called me to inform me that its the by-pass hose, but dont know for sure until its connected, flushed, and pressurized. Again, I mentioned to him that it was the thermostat that needs to be replaced. On Friday, May 6, at approximately 3:30pm, Randy called me to inform me that its the thermostat, and it will cost additional 4 hours labor charges in addition to the 3 hours already spent to just replaced the by-pass hose in the same location. Now the cost increased from $400 to over $1000 due to not fixing the original problem as had been identified. I told Randy that I will report this matter to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and I will write a review online, and he said that their company gets most of their business by word-of-mouth referral - didnt care about customer service. After all these, my car is still in their shop and I was told but not guaranteed that it might be ready on Monday, 9 May 2011 at about 4PM. I dont mind paying if they replaced the thermostat (core problem) rather than applying band-aid so they can hold my BMW and tack on additional labor cost. This is a bad business practice, and I told Randy that this is the first and last that I am bringing my BMW to their place. Of course I will pay to avoid mechanics lien on my property; however, I will talk to the owner on Monday and if the owner will not reduce the price for duplicate labor cost, I will file my complaint to the BBB. Again, this is only my experience and hope others have had better experience. I am not happy at all! I am an Army officer PCS to Fort Gordon, and I will provide update of this matter as it becomes available.UPDATE: As mentioned, I drove to the shop on Monday, 9 May 2011, during my lunch break and personally spoke to Mr. Tommy Mathewes, owner. Mr. Mathewes was very accomodating and customer-service oriented. He tooked me to my car and showed me what worked has been completed, and theyre waiting for couple parts to arrive complete the work. In addition, he provided discounted price that I agreed. I left his shop satisfied. My car was ready for pick-up at around 4:30pm that same day.
