I found the 2020 F-150 I wanted at this dealer through autotrader.com. The dealer, Nelson Ford of Martinsville is 400 miles away from me. I bought this truck sight unseen. Brandon Choklette was my sales consultant. He was able to provide a walk through video and hi-resolution pictures. He was also able to order my accessories and have the vehicle delivered right to my door! Pricing at this dealer is very competitive and we were able to reach my my target sales price without all the sleazy dealer tactics. Brandon knows his Ford lineup, answered all my questions, and had delivered my truck as described and on schedule by a group of outstanding, professional delivery drivers. The finance department was also great and Terry was fantastic at getting all the paperwork and out of state logistics together. I highly recommend this dealer to anyone on the east coast. If they have the vehicle you want, dont hesitate to buy it from Nelson Ford. You can have peace of mind that your vehicle will be delivered clean and ready to go.

A couple of weeks ago I was looking to buy a car after my vehicle was totaled. I had been communicating with with Terri Basconi and primarily with a gentleman named John Myers. I had numerous questions about the Ford Fiesta ST that understandably would have annoyed most salesmen in my experience, but Mr. Myers was a patient professional and addressed my questions. I had to drive a bit to check the car out at Nelson Ford, and Mr. Myers made sure it would be there for me to look and test drive. On the way to Nelson Ford a part of my vehicle became partially detached, and at no cost to me they put up my car up on the lift and reattached it in a jiffy. This was a very pleasant surprise to me prior to the test drive. On the test drive John Myers ran through the features of the vehicle while also telling me the history of Martinsville which I found to be great. While going through finalization Mr. Myers continued to be a polite professional and was never pushy in way when pitching the additional warranty which I ended up declining due to the car still having a manufacturers warranty. Mr. Myers and Terri Basconi where also very patient and professional in dealing with the Credit Union that I used. Throughout that finalization ordeal made difficult by the Credit Union an other individual named Chris Davis helped John, Terri, and me finally get over the finish line. Fast forward a couple weeks and the car has been great to me.I want to thank John Myers, Terri Basconi, Chris Davis, and Nelson Ford for a great automotive buying experience. I will strongly consider buying from them in the future..maybe that 6.8 Mustang if that comes out in the future or if Ford decides to make a Boss 429 again.

Prior to coming to Nelson Ford I had been doing my research on finding the best place to buy a new ford ranger. Initially I had gone to a local ford dealership and had a bad experience. When I went onto Nelson Fords website I decided to use their messaging app and they were immediately responsive. Within a few minutes after messaging I receive a call from the sales consultant Eric Friedhoff who was very helpful and honest. We decided to drive the hour and 20 minute drive to Martinsville, Virginia in hopes of getting this new ranger. Even when dealing with a customer Eric went out of his way to greet us and get us a test drive in the truck. Even while he was continuing to deal with other consumers Eric always made us feel like we were his priority. Chris Davis was also extremely helpful as he dealt with the banking situation. I would highly recommend Nelson Ford to other friends and family.

My sister made a appointment to test drive and confirmed a price on a used truck they had in stock. She took off a half day from work and drove two hours to see the truck. When she arrived, they told her they had made a mistake. the price was wrong and it was actually 5000.00 dollars higher than the price she was quoted. She was looking to buy the truck for our brother who is disabled and has a limited income. We could not afford to pay more. Dealer refused to honor the deal and basically told them too bad. It happens sometime. My sister wasted four hours of driving time and a half day of vacation. We would not recommend this dealer to anyone. They were uncaring, unsympathetic and unethical. I hope whoever owns this dealership realizes the character of the people who works for him.response- sounds like you need to fire whoever runs your internet sales and oversees your pricing. The situation was still handled poorly no matter how you spin it. This fiasco led us to buy a truck from Berglund Ford in Bedford which was a totally awesome experience. Thank you for that.

Pleased with the service department. Update...my 10 year old Ford needed to be replaced. I made contact with sales at 3:30 pm. Scheduled an appointment for 5pm. Drove away in my new vehicle at 7 pm. Traveled from South Carolina to purchase a new 2019 F150 at Nelson Ford in Martinsville. My buying experience will not be forgotten due to the family-like treatment and care I received from Chris Davis and the rest of the Nelson Ford team! I had searched within 500 miles or less from my house and Nelson for was the ONLY dealership that had a truck that met the exact package and add ons that I wanted. I contacted Chris directly, as with me being 3 hours away, I knew that I needed the best that the dealer had to offer. Chris exceeded my expectations and made the buying process extremely easy! He held the truck for me for over a week as It would be the next weekend before I could make a trip to get the truck and even had most of the paper work and the dealings done before I even arrived on site. On arrival Chris had the shop guys install my rear fender liners at no cost to me while I filled out and signed the needed paper work. Everything occurred without a hitch and after about an hour my family and I were headed south with my brand new F150! Chris took the time to make me feel like my business was valued and I greatly appreciate that. Go see the great people at Nelson Ford and dont forget about the extra warranty that they offer. Believe me when I say this, it was worth the drive!

I needed a loaner due to my car being serviced. However upon arrival the service dept. Was closed. I spoke with GM Danny Hutchinson who with utmost professionalism took care of the obstacle. I will be forever thankful for the leadership at Nelson Ford. Also a shout out to Salesman Scott Norman who is very personable and ensured we were taken care of to the end. Thank you Nelson Ford and Professional staff.

They told me theyd keep my truck for 2 days, but it took them 2 WEEKS. It was really inconvenient to be without my truck for that long. So...why the 5-Star review? Because they did the right thing.Ginger in service was caught between a rock and a hard place. In between me, the customer desperate for his truck back, and the service technicians who couldnt resolve the problem. The mission was to get my trucks cruise control working again, which they thought was a simple fix. So they gave me a quote for that, just over $200. I accepted and hoped to pick up the truck the next day.Days went by only to find that it didnt fix the problem. More parts were needed, but I never agreed to that. I offered to just take the truck back, but Ginger and the team at Nelson wanted to get it working. And they did so, after several rounds of diagnosing and ordering additional parts. In the end it was costly and inconvenient for me to be without my truck. But it was equally costly and inconvenient for the Nelson team to do the right thing to get this fixed. Not a profitable transaction for either of us, but Nelson had an opportunity here to handle this poorly, or handle this with a customer-first attitude. They chose the latter approach and, for that reason, Ill be back. Thanks Nelson!

It is a nice large dealership with s bunch of new vehicles that will make you salivate all over yourself. LOLUnfortunately I am in a situation of finding a loan myself and with the folks who have restrictions on the mileage, and of course the price by the amount you are approved.Nelson Ford, Mazda, etc. Is the place you can go. Worst. Service. Ever.This review is for Nelson Ford service department on Commonwealth. I have dealt with their sales department and generally had a pleasant experience. Additionally I have dealt with other Nelson dealerships sales and service departments, specifically GR Chevrolet in Basset, and they have done great jobs.In a nutshell, 48 hours after I dropped the truck off for a scheduled service appointment the dealership had done nothing to my truck. Additionally, per the dealerships own statements they had no idea where my truck keys were or exactly what I wanted done to the truck.On Wednesday 12/19/2018 11am I had a scheduled appointment for an oil change, tire rotation and to address some service bulletins for my Ford F150 truck which I had purchased from Nelson Ford a year or so earlier. This was not a walk-in. I had scheduled the appointment for this specific service request days earlier. Around 10.30am the day of the appointment I went in to the service area, checked the truck in and left.Friday 12/21/2018 around 3pm I called the dealership to enquire about the status of the vehicle.After wading through the phone menu and finally getting to a human the service rep asked me if I knew where the keys were for the truck and wanted to know exactly what I wanted done to the truck. Evidently the dealership had misplaced both the key to the truck and the paperwork. To top it off the service rep became quite snotty with me when I was unable to tell her which service rep checked me in Wednesday.Taking into account the attitude I was getting from the service rep and the fact that they had evidently misplaced the key to the vehicle I went to the dealership to retrieve my truck. I found it sitting in the same spot I dropped it off. The truck had not even been moved.To my relief the dealership had located the keys and I was able to drive the vehicle home. To my disgust I found out that no service had been performed during the 48 hours the dealership had possession of the truck. The vehicle had been sitting in the exact same spot I dropped it off.Update:I spoke with Danny at the dealership who has always done a great job. A representative from the service department did call and left a message to apologize for the rookie service rep I got on the phone. He literally blamed it on the new girl. Threw her right under the bus. No doubt she could use a spot more training (which is the managers responsibility) and to be fair I can be a tad bit less than tactful on the phone but he failed to address the root cause of the issue. The issue is that I made an appointment, took time out of my day to drop the truck off at the appointment time, and 48 hours later not only had nothing been done to the truck but it had not even been moved. I would like to be clear, the cause of this issue is not a single rookie service rep, who if the responsible people in the dealership had been doing their jobs would not even have been involved, but a failure of the dealership service department as a whole to perform basic services such as an oil change & tire rotation.In closing, from the dealership response I came away with the feeling that they were taking the easy way out and dumping this failure in the lap of a rookie service rep they failed to properly train. From my perspective as a Customer the service department as a whole failed in that in a 48 hour period, two full business days, they were unable to provide basic services that I could have had performed at Jiffy Lube in 30 minutes.

I was at Nelson ford yesterday, I had a personal problem, getting older I was having problems getting into and out of my big ford 150 . I have bought 7 new vehicles from Nelson Ford since 1996. Just got a 2015 F-150. Love it !! Chris wasnt able to find exactly what I was looking for so he ordered me one from the factory. Dealing with Chris and Danny was smooth sailing. They along with Terri took care of everything for me. Would recommend them to anyone. Also, Brad and Tina in service are great. What a great experience we had at this dealership Chris Davis has got his stuff together. From moving the car out of the tight space for us to get a good first look to having it detailed for final picture . Oh yeah and the steps between that went smooth as well . I just bought a 2014 Ford Explorer and this was the best experience ever in buying a new vehicle. Chris Davis was awesome!!!!!! He was always polite, courteous and listened to what I wanted and worked very hard in finding my Explorer. My husband even shared with Chris how I wanted to walk in, sign the papers and leave. So, I walked in, signed the papers, Chris reviewed the features and I left the parking lot all in 45 minutes. Now, there is someone who takes his customer seriously!!!!
