This was my second fairly large order of cultured stone from Smoky Pt Masonry. I liked their product, they have a good supply, and I was willing to pay their price. I returned their pallets today to receive my deposit, as well as three boxes of stone that I didn’t use, upon which time I was told, “We don’t accept returns, and Once it leaves the yard, it’s yours. I complained that I wasn’t told that when I bought the materials and fine print at the bottom of the receipt was pointed out to me. If I had know this, I would have bought exactly what I thought I needed, or a little less, and returned if I needed more to complete my project.I have always been able to return excess building materials, and assumed this was no different. I especially took umbrage when the owner implied that I had rifled through the boxes and took material and switched it out by saying, Boxes never come back the same, and People always sort through them. That explains her policy, nevertheless, if you have a business model that doesn’t comply with the industry standard, then you should verbally make that clear with every sale, rather than point to fine print after the fact.I’m surprised the owner would sacrifice any future sales from me since I was an established customer, or from any of my friends who I’ll now advise to avoid Smoky Point Masonry, over a couple hundred dollars of untouched and perfectly resell-able boxes of stone. She didn’t even want to look to see that they were absolutely pristine.
Beyond helpful and informative. These folks are the best
I bought some Stones here to reface my fireplace and it came out wonderfully. These folks are professionals from their office to their yard which I appreciate a great deal.
Erica was great and went out of her way to find something that might work for our needs.
Great place to get all your stone, lots of selections!!
Smokey point still has a little outpost feel to it. I was told back in the beginning Smokey point was named after a wood fire that always burned to draw travelers and adventure seekers to the outpost where one could buy supplies etc. This would be similar to the western era.Firetrail, now thats another story lol. Both have changed to be what seems to be overpopulated, rude and of course there is the walking dead I call them.these are, in short, these people are on drugs who walk the streets homeless and with no direction and beg during daylight hours.
Always helpful when trying to match Stone!
