Just stopped by to pick up ammunition. Thankfully no waiting online outside like 2020. The store is once again fully stocked with handguns and rifles. Last year was a stressful year and almost all weapons were sold out. The gentleman was the beard and tattoos usually takes my orders. Besides being knowledgeable he is very pleasant. The environment is laid back but business like. Handed me over magazines for rifles I forgot to pick up from last year, very cool of him to remember. Now is time to buy weapons and stock up on ammunition

Probably the best gun store in the bay right now. The manager is awesome. I forgot her name but the last 2 purchases I made there was an awesome deal. She matched the price of a gun store in Stockton which if you think about it, 2 different cost of living area. How can I go to another store if this store is like this everytime. I went here precisely two months ago to purchase a firearm and was told there is no same day purchase, which I had done in 2015. I picked out my firearm and filled out the paperwork and was told that it should come back within two to three days. I waited and called two months later to be asked did I buy the firearm and that if I didn’t purchase there was no background check done, meaning someone lied and basically denied me the sale on the spot, which I understand they have the right to but did so in an underhanded manner and without good cause. I was asked to fill out paperwork for what exactly, the person who was handling my transaction was extremely dismissive and acted as if they didn’t care for my business. I will absolutely be going elsewhere. They are simply convenient because of their proximity to city. However, if your African American go elsewhere, where you’ll be treated with better customer service.

I came here with my husband who didn’t have a gun card so they made him wait by the door I was buying bullets to go to the gun range so he ask me how much they cost because he was paying for them so the man said he couldn’t sell them because I told him how much they was like no terrible people that works here so I went to Des Plaines Illinois they are way better in nice. people can come in without a gun card don’t need one just show they drivers license if anyone don’t like this place please go some where else like Maxon they are nice to people. I even told my mom not to go here this place wouldn’t get Business from me at all. The workers are mean also

Only place in Chicago area that I could find 22cal ammo for non location use. Hopefully that will change as we move forward.Also found a nice holster, IWB for S&W Airweight. I checked out the shirts, but 3XLT were out of stock,I’m 6’6” 276.The employees were polite and answered all my questions.Nice job, Thanks.

Went there and bought my first firearm. Staff was very helpful even when the firearm I bought turned it to be defective they were happy to exchange it for a different model for the difference in cost. Great place very professional will continue to go here for future purchases.

Paid $55 for transfer fee for a muzzle loader 12G pistol that was held for close to 4 weeks before ready for pick up! When I picked upped the gun it had crud in the crevices of the primer area and inside the Barrels as if fired. Customer service was lacking also! Will not use them in the future.

Horrible place, I felt discriminated against. Seems like they were more less talking me OUT of buying a gun then wanting me to purchase one. I’ll spend my money somewhere else, thank you for wasting my time! Go to Midwest Guns, better customer service and way better prices!!!

I felt as though they weren’t trying to sell me anything, but trying to size me Up as though I as though I had bad intentions. I was a first time buyer. I’m never returning here again. I do not recommend them. I felt like they could have been a lot more professional and a little less at easy. Walked in to buy ammo with my husband. My husband didnt have a Foid so he was not allowed to be next to me. He had to wait by the door which I think is wrong. We walked in as paying customers. Not going back. Horrible service. Service is better at Article II. We felt discriminated just for being hispanic.

Worst gun store Ive ever been in. Do not go there! One of their workers took some parts of the rifle I purchased. When I complained, they called me a liar and said they dont want a customer like me... and basically told me to Buzz off. They advertise one thing, but sell you another.. when you complain, they tell you to go somewhere else. They do not accept returns, unless you pay them 25%. Bunch of thieves and scammers. Worst experience ever.

Me and my best friend went there 4 yrs ago and applied for our FOID card and had a good experience everyone was friendly. Fast forward to 6months ago I took my cousin in so she could apply and I ask if I have my gun shipped to his store and he got really nasty with me so needless to say I wont be going back

Bought my first gun from Suburban Sporting Goods online, went to the store to fill out paperwork, the staff there were very helpful in walking me through the entire process, and giving me advice on what type of accessories and ammo would be best for me. They also gave me a general timeline on background check, great place for a noob looking to buy their first firearm.

First time walking in was welcoming i wasnt sure in what i really wanted. Thanks to Dean for the helpful feedback on some of the pieces there i ended up getting what i needed for home defense. Fast and easiest no long line or waiting to do paperwork. Ill be going back

This is the go to place for knowledgeable sales people on al types of guns new and old. Whether you need a modern weapon or looking for antiques and collectables, this store has it all. I have shopped there for over 20 years and couldnt find a better all around service, quality, or breadth of guns available.

Terrible gun store, do not waste your time here. Run down, rude employees, barely any guns, & no ammo. Asked for FOID before even greeting me & then asked what I was there for. I think I blew the guys mind when I expressed that I was just looking around. You own a store where people go to shop you turkeys, please learn to have some respect for your customers. Maybe it’s the miserable city you live in but you’d think as a gun store owner selling more guns than ever for higher prices than ever you’d be in a little better of a mood.

Went in today, informed them I was a first time buyer and was there for information. They were patient and answered my questions. Even when I saw a weapon system I was interested in they showed it to me and similar ones. Will buy from them again.

Bad experience! I brought a weapon about 2 years ago from this location these guys still work like the 18th century everything’s on paper and not online as it should to have quicker search on what a customer have purchased under the name or FOID Number!! In there STORE! So they charge an extra $50 BUCKS just to print a copy of a tiny receipt that will take less then 1HR To find but should take LESS then 5min if they had 2020 style of online search! And just use paper work as back up! Proof! If Your a valued customer we should get treated like one! I JUST NEEDED THE SERIAL # NUMBER!

SSG store hours were posted on the window 12 until 2. I came to the door at 12:30. Nobody came to the door. One person was swing his hands under his neck, the other person was having a seat. I even called no one picked up the phone. I will never buy a firearm from this place or transfer a firearm here. My father introduce me and my family to the business. My whole family came here to purchase a firearm from here. After today we will find a different place.

Update: issue was corrected, my husband just left the store with everything we needed and said you were a bunch of REALLY nice people and were very accommodating.I understand we are living in crazy times and things happen. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to send more updates and communicate with people that have items on backorder. In these times of uncertainty, people are going to get worried when they dont know whats going on.We are happy with the outcome and will definitely return to your business. With all the covid19 and limited hours, i was able to order weapons online.they called on me a week or two later to come down to fill out background checks. A week later another call for weapons pick up and all the ammo i needed. Very courteous staff.the gentlemen with a beard and a few tattoos is one of the experts there. If you have any questions please ask him very knowledgeable.Great experience i have purchased weapons since start of covid19 and all transactions were excellent !!!!!

Drove here based on the reviews expecting good service. Walked out to never come back. The service sucks. They act like theyre doing you a favor. Im all about supporting local small businesses but save yourself the trouble and go to the big guys or another store. The selection is sad not even mediocre.

Took my firearm to get fix and they took like 3 weeks with it and they end up putting the wrong part on it.Last time doing business with them.

Super uptight staff. Hardly any merchandise on display and good luck approaching the counter to ask a question without a foid card. This place need to relax and learn some good customer service skills.

Placed an order on their site on a busy week at work and messed up with a 10% coupon that was on their main webpage. Called them up to see if it can be fixed and they could careless. Was told if I want to cancel and reorder I have to pay 25% restocking fee. Good luck getting more business from the guys at the airport and me.

For the most part its prob the closest gun store towards chicago northwest, as for selection and price its not bad nor is it good either - its like that small store you go to when your in a jiffy for something - to my knowledge it also seems like the ammo prices are a little higher then other surrounding area stores - Im assuming its because of location - the staff is cool never had an issue with them - I would definitely shop thier way thier more if competitive pricing was an option on the radar

The people here are very professional you cannot blame them for the state taking forever for background checks it’s just how the world is they kept me updated and whenever I called always gave me answers I will use them for FFL transfers in the future

Went to this place to pick up a box of ammo last minute. They were very efficient and had me in and out in a few minutes. The store is neat and organized and the staff was very friendly and cracked a few jokes while I waited for my ammo. Ill definitely go back.

What a great place! I have been coming here for years now but today, their customer service really stood out. I had an issue with a manufacturers mistake and they took care of the issue, no questions asked. Will be back again. Its wonderful having such a great, local business.

These guys are awesome- read every other firearm store review on here and you will see one outstanding comment- bad/poor customer service. Not these guys. They really want to help you. I served for 14 years in a unit that did a lot of shooting and know my weapons and knew what I wanted. They still went out of there way to make me feel comfortable about the choice and decision on my purchase. This is a great place. I had recently bought my first firearm from suburban sporting goods glock 17 and its awesome I use for safety of my business after recently being an armed robbery victim and Im glad Ive bought it here and joined the NRA. Only thing I have is how long orders are because Ive ordered ammunition have not been called yet and its been almost a month but other than that the store staff are great and will always by my firearms here.

These people are likely just excited to become part of the culture.Midwest Sporting goods is friendly to people of all cultures. However, at Suburban Sporting Goods, be polite, dress well, and be as professional as you can and they will do the same.Last note for the business: show your customer an ordered item before ordering it. Nod in acknowledgement of someone existence. Do not ignore/dehumanize people. Tell your customers how they can expect to hear from them and when.

Prices are ridiculous. On top of their outrageous prices they have a nerve to charge of additional pick up fee. Its hard to support your local gun dealer. With people like this in business. For example a PPS M2 LE will cost you about $620.00 at (Suburban Sporting Goods)I purchase the same at Buds, did a FFL transfer to Franks firefire in Franklin Park. The total cost for everything was $290 Walter PPS M2 LE (Law Enforcement Edition) I save over $300 for the same firearm. Just shop around and do a FFL TRANSFER. Frank Firearms charge $25-$30. 2 firearms for $40.00

Walked in to ask questions and look at the guns before I received my FOID, but was rudely just turned away without it and told to look at the site, which was down by the way. I understand why they wouldnt want someone without an FOID looking at their guns, but as someone interested in purchasing a gun soon a good salesman would have jumped on me to hopefully secure me as a sale later. The collection did look decent though and the shop was nice considering the area it is placed.
