Had an amazing experience with Menlo/Christian. I brought my Canyon bike in with some issues with the Shimano Di2 and could not have imagined a better experience.Thoughtful, experienced, great at explaining the issue. And best of all, I was out of there quickly with all the issues fixed and back out on the road.I cant recommend these folks any higher. Take your bike to them for all your needs.

Its easy to be nice with customers when things go well. But what if they dont? Then, keep on reading...I bought an SW Tarmac bike at Menlo Velo Bicycle, which was packed and shipped to me by Menlo Velo. The bike arrived with several damages, such as cracks in the frame, warped disc, and small broken parts. The Specialized concept store that unboxed the bycicle (and toke these pictures) attested that the damages were caused during the first assembling of the bike by Menlo Velo (before shipping the bike). Apparently, the bycicle was assembled without a torque meter and went through too much pressure. Because it was not a manufacturing defect, Specialized did not honor the frame warranty.Want to know Menlo Velo reaction and customer support for a bike that costs $11k? Knowing that Specialized couldnt do anything, they said I should talk to the carrier company. Really, Menlo Velo? Even with an Specialized concept store attesting it was caused by you? After many attempts, Menlo Venlo turned me down and washed its hands.So, if this is not the customer support and reliability you expect from a store, please go for a larger and dedicated Specialized store.

Very friendly and with reasonable prices.Just moved to the area and found my bike was in disrepair. Brought it in for an assessment and they quickly gave me a quote and promised to get it done within the next few days. Much better than other shops in the area with regards to price and speed. Will be my go to bike shop in the area until I move.

Wow, these guys are amazing! We were passing through town and I needed new valves and a sealant recharge on both tubeless tires. My valve cores were all gunked up with sealant. They replaced the valve stems in just a few hours even though they were super busy on a Saturday. Very fair pricing. Thanks so much!

Came here to fix my e-bike flat tire, a radpower bike.I came back to get my kid a new bike.They are very nice, not pushy, well stocked. You can park in El Camino or behind the store as well.The window is small so if you drive fast youll miss it.

Ive been to many of the bike shops in the area and always left feeling a little dissatisfied. Menlo Velo is a little out of my way, but I recently decided to give them a try and Im incredibly glad I did. They have the best customer service in the area bar none. I had a problem crop up with my bike a week after my tuneup and took it in and they fixed it for free no questions asked. Ill definitely be back and am recommending them to all of my friends.

My go to bicycle shop. They are incredibly knowledgeable and competent. We depend on our bikes for local commuting to work, and they take a lot of punishment. Im here about once a month, and the service is always outstanding.

Been coming here for years to rent a bike if my trip involves a weekend stay. Excellent knowledgeable and friendly service. Dont bother going anywhere else if you want to rent a decent carbon road bike for a few days.

I came here to get my bike brake pads fixed. They provide quick and friendly services. There are 1hr- front curb parking spots in El Camino or behind the store .

This shop is the go-to place in the Bay Area for roadies. I came from out of town to do a couple rides while visiting a friend, had checked other shops before, and Rainer & crew had both the rental bike (Specialized Roubaix, 61cm) for a 6 4 rider, and knowledge to provide me with the perfect rides. They steered me in the right direction for routes, which were much better than what Id planned, and the bike was perfect for a serious rider. I had epic, and carefree, rides, thanks to them.

This is the shop you want to come to with any bike related question. The staff are very helpful and accommodating of special requests and always help give honest feedback on what type of bike or equipment you are looking for. All my mechanical work is done here and have never had a complaint with them.

The service and friendliness here is unparalleled. Bike shop visits have given me headaches in the past, but this was so pleasant and painless. Rolled in with a bike new from factory with a small list of adjustments I thought were necessary. Without skipping a beat, they picked out the adjustments that mattered, suggested skipping ones that didnt, and added a few that I missed saving me time/money. All with a smile. Truly a notch above most other places in the bay.

It was my first time at Menlo Velo Bicycles . All the folks I spoke to are super courteous and super chilled. They really listen and don’t rush you. I’m a novice but they really took care of me. I spoke to Ranier & Michael on the phone and Christian was the gentleman who actually worked on my bike. He even helped me figure things about all the do’s and don’ts with the trainer. Delivery of the bike after repairs was before the promised time... and the pricing is very reasonable. I’m really happy there’s a nice reliable bike shop in the neighborhood.

Ive had several great experiences here from shoes to power meter. Mechanics in the back are friendly about bikes and local rides. Good group.

Menlo Velo is a small, old-school bike shop that gave my LHT the best tune-up its had yet, and did a top-notch job fitting my wife for a new bike. Its very much a human scale place; dont expect to find twenty racks of team jerseys.They do get busy on weekends (if you need something complex go during the week!), and dont always have everything in stock but can get virtually anything. While you can order stuff cheaper online, the cheap stuff doesnt come with expert advice or installation.

Groovy little bike shop.

I bought my first road bike here. I was considering either Specialized or Trek, and went to this shop because they rent Specialized road bikes similar to the one I was interested in buying. I paid $50 for 24 hours, but this was deducted from the price of the bike I eventually bought, so its an excellent way to try before you buy for free.The staff spent a lot of time explaining the differences between the Specialized models, configuring the rental bike and the bike I bought and answering the many questions I had about looking after it. All the guys that work in the shop are helpful and have extensive knowledge about bikes. They may not seem as friendly as staff in other shops at first (as pointed out by an earlier reviewer), but once you get chatting they are all great guys.Overall, I had great service and love my new bike.

There are bigger bike shops out there but I havent found a better one.I bought a Breezer there 5 years ago for commuting and Ive put about 10,000 miles on it. That bike has been through a lot but its still going strong. I just had it in for repairs and they did some creative riveting to salvage my rear fender and chain case, and it didnt cost me much at all.When that bike finally falls apart Ill be back to buy another just like it.

Rented carbon road bikes three times from Menlo Velo and they have always been a pleasure to rent from. Bikes in great condition, always with tires in near new condition.

Great Service - they are very careful and dedicated to making sure your bike is serviced correctly. They also carry great inventory of bikes and accessories. I have several Specialized bikes that are serviced by them.

I took my bike in with a broken front derailleur. This is a bike shop that really knows bikes. They tuned the bike beautifully putting on a new chain and rear cassette. The staff are pleasant and skilled. They even cleaned the frame.

Best service Ive ever received at a bike store. Made a bunch of repairs on my bike for an exceedingly reasonable price, and it rides noticeably smoother now.

The were very helpful. I walked in with my broken bike (busted peddle). I was greeted when I walked in, and was help fairly quickly. Guy showed me a couple different peddles and installed them right there for me.

The whole team is reliable, talented, and extremely knowledgable about their products and services. This is not just a bike shop, they are collection of consultants, engineers, and therapists. I have worked mostly with Christian and Ranier, and none are more committed to resolving problems and providing guidance. New bikes can be a challenge and they have been there for me every step of the way!
