A very nice, clean and friendly coffee shop. Unfortunately, this business is closing permanently on August 31, 2020. It is unfortunate to see Meridian lose a family-owned, independent business.

I only go through Meridian about once per year. But I make it a priority to stop at The Scarlet Cup while Im there. This coffee is beautiful! Just what a cup of coffee should be. Strong but not bitter. Delicious. Dont expect super speedy service because each cup is made to order and its made to perfection! Be patient because its worth it.

Right there with Starbucks, vry frndly service.

I had a really great experience! The lady ahead of me had a large order and I was not in a big hurry so that was fine well she ended up paying for mine as well because I was so patient (thank you Michelle). The barista was polite and quite efficient. Nice place.

The coffee is actually very good. However, it takes forever to get it. This is not a place to come if you dont have time to kill.The husband and wife team that run it are polite, but just so. Husband seemed withdrawn and barely said a thing to me and the wife did the same, save for seeming very annoyed the entire time she took my order.Not a fan of the staff, but again, good coffee.

I had an awesome experience at this coffee shop. The owner is extremely polite and takes his time to make each order to assure that it is perfect. The drink was delicious! I am from a big city and I prefer this place over many of the larger chains. I will definitely be returning.

I intend to go, only when Bill is working. I have to call every time to see if Bill will answer the phone if not I dont even bother. He greets me well every time. The lady doesnt need to work there at all. I believe they both are the owner. The lady always have a bad day when I use to come when she is working. She ungrateful to be an owner. She need to stay humble and learn how to smile.

Avoiding hotel coffee early in the a.m. is a long held tradition. However, hotel coffee wouldve been preferable to the experience at red cup, or scarlet cup.

Good chai latte- not a lot of baked goods options. Owners keep the cafe really clean. I enjoy the music but its a bit loud.

Great local coffee house that served an excellent cup. Pretty wide variety of syrups for drinks. Definitely recommend.

Today I went in to get coffee needless to say the lady that waited on me was rude...she steadily talking to the customer behind me of a different race once she took my order and I paid for it she slid my change on the counter to me when I specifically handed her my money directly in her hand I started to slide it back across the counter to her and ask her to hand it to me like I handed it to her but I dont pay the devil no attention...I think she has a nasty attitude and most of all I think she shouldnt serve customers at all if shes going to be rude to them...I never gave her a reason to act this way towards me Im always nice whenever I stop by being that this coffee shop is the closest thing Meridian have to Starbucks...if Starbucks was out in town like it was in other places I definitely wouldnt be going here. I dont do attitudes like that regardless of what race you are!

Exeptional customer service, great coffee and the shop is super cute and comfortable. Highly recommend for a date, a meeting or to study.

This is one of our favorite places to go. When you open the door, the fresh aroma of coffee welcomes you like an old friend you havent seen in forever. The baristas are friendly and always ask about our day. There is a wonderful variety of coffees and teas to choose from as well as hot drinks and frozen smoothies for kids. I highly recommend the Scarlet Cup for a restful stop during your busy day.

The first time I came to this nasty place, there was hair in my coffee. I decided to give it another try, and the second time I came, the OPEN sign was on at 6pm. I read online they were open until 7:30. We get there and the door is locked. Theres a lady hiding behind counter who completely ignored us. We stood by the door until she acknowledged us, then took forever to come over to the door. When she came over, she was very rude through the door telling us she was closed. We pointed to the open sign and she screamed that she would turn it off if that made us happy. The muffins are really dry, too.

I love the coffee, but what time do they close? I came last week at 7pm and the man was open, I went at 5:45pm tonight & the lady was sitting inside with the door locked. Confusing.

Ive always had a pleasant experience here and the coffee is excellent!!! Usually the atmosphere is great. The only time it has been less than that is when parents have not supervised their children, allowing them to disturb other patrons.

Great coffee, nice atmosphere. I once placed an order for a scarlet mocha and forgot to tell them frozen, so they double charged me. I why too enthused about that! Still get coffee!

My family and I did not have a good experience at this establishment. We were looking forward to sitting down and enjoying a good cup of coffee in a nice looking coffee shop, but were put off by the terrible customer service. The employee taking out order was rude and snappy and went out of her way to make us feel unwelcome. I should have left then, but I waited on the coffee. We had extra time and had planned on sitting around and enjoying the coffee in the shop, but instead left as soon as we got our order—we didn’t want to spend a minute more than we had to in this place.The coffee was mediocre at best. I would give this place zero stars if Google would allow it. I’ve never been made to feel more unwelcome in a business.

Traumatic.. Thats the word I would explain my experience at scarlet cup. I have tutored here at least a half dozen times before. The gentleman has always been so nice and welcoming. But tonight the woman working was so hateful towards me and the child I was tutoring. I understand if youre having a bad day, but youre still running a Christian establishment. Heart breaking and hurtful to say the least.

Absolutely love the coffee!!! But the woman is so nasty, rude, mean, hateful and seems to be miserable with her life. Im unsure why she chose to work in the public, because she seems to hate people, especially kids. I walked out today without getting my favorite coffee beverage, because she screamed at my kids more than one time. I refuse to spend my money there anymore. The man on the other hand was always friendly with me and made my coffee better than the woman. Im done with Scarlet Cup! I pray God blesses her. And I pray for her husband, not sure how he lives with that woman. Just my thoughts and feelings!

I am visiting from Florida and coming here made me feel so welcomed. The gentleman behind the counter was so nice and patient. The Iced Chai Latte is AMAZING!!!! I am coming here again tomorrow!

This was the best coffee ever and the gentleman that waited on us was awesome we will be back on out next trip to Mississippi

Service Sucks!!! People who on it run the day to day operations are very rude!!! I went up to order a coffee 3 different times with no luck. When I finally got the old mans attention and he was very rude to me. Instead of him asking me if I could sit somewhere else he just barked and yelled at me that I could not sit there. I was meeting someone to get them to sign some papers. When they got there I asked them if it was okay if went to The Daily Grind. The Daily Grind employees are and have always been great. If you want good coffee in Meridian then go to the Daily Grind.

I dont drink coffee, but my Fience loves their frozen coffees, and I quite enjoy the hot chocolate.

It was closed at 7 PM on august 7, 2020 when it says it closed at 9 PM. I drove out of the way for no reason while I am traveling.

The lattes have strong espresso and arent too sweet! They also have delicious pastries for early morning breakfast!

The lady was being rude when Id ask questions about the coffee I wanted she tried to make me feel stupid. Coffee was okay but will not return due to poor customer service. No wonder the place is always empty

They have a great selection of hot, iced, and frozen coffee. If tea is your drink they have several options of tea as well. The wifi is free and the atmosphere is great. They are always playing Christian music.

Im new to meridian and heard great things about the place. Not the one to normally leave reviews. I walked in to use the restroom before buying coffee and the lady asks can she help me, I pointed to the restroom and then commented thanks for asking with an attitude as if I was in the wrong for heading to restroom. I then asked were they public since it seemed to be a problem about me using it, she rudely shook her head ... I left. Wont be back.

Great place to hang out, spend time with a friend or hold a meeting. I have done all 3! Plus Bill and Judy are great.

The man that makes the coffee is really quiet but nice and helpful, the woman, well shes a little... mean, unhappy, cold hearted, rude, hateful, and seems like she absolutely hates being there and obviously hates her life. Its really sad because I will not buy coffee from her and th coffee is great.

I went one day and had an awesone experience! Great coffee and the man working was so nice! Went back the next day and it made me not want to come back due to the lady working being so rude. We didnt know the menu well and it took us a minute to decide what we wanted and she seemed beyond annoyed and huffy. (We were the only ones there.) She was snippy and made us feel pretty unwelcome so we ended up taking our drinks to go as her rudeness made the place uncomfortable. I love the coffee but the service from her kind of killed it for me. 😞

Best coffee around and 10 times better than any starbucks.

Its hard to keep a business open with terrible customer service. The man is awesome but the woman should not be allowed to interact with the public. The coffee is ok but its not good enough to make up for the rudeness of the lady behind the counter. If possible find Jumpstart Coffee food truck on Facebook and buy your coffee from someone that cares about their customers.

Coffee was good. Menu is heavy on mocha drinks and other sugary mixed coffee and tea drinks. Very clean. Service was a bit slow but there was only one employee at the time.

Im not one to leave reviews, but at the Scarlet Cup people are always being sent from Little Cesar to use their bathroom. I only live in Meridian to go to school there. I frequently go to Scarlet Cup to study. The service is some of the best in town.

I found this nice little cafe on a search for Wi-Fi and thoroughly enjoyed my visit here! The staff are very warm and welcoming and my latte was perfect! If Im in town again, I will definitely be visiting again, whether I need the Wi-Fi or not.

These people don’t keep their posted hours. I can’t tell you how many times I have gone at least 30 min before their posted closing time and the door is locked.Barista even standing there looking at me like I’m stupid for wanting coffee at 7:25 pm!!!!!I will NEVER go to this place again

Hours are incorrect, lady inside looked at me during open hours while it was locked. Either correct hours or maintain operating hours indicated.

Coffee was good. There were no pastries or any food to go with the beverages. The atmosphere was sterile, and by that I mean not welcoming.

RACIST! Im white but my son is Samoan. He was not allowed to use the restroom. The man changed the station my son was watching also. Both the man & his wife are always rude! I came here several times a week, but I wont be back.
