Dr. Hogg did a fine job with my husband and I for which I have no complaints. However my five year old was seen here and while the job got done, the office really wasn’t geared towards kids at all. When I called about them seeing kids initially the receptionist said she could be seen if she knew her letters. They didn’t have any shapes appropriate for young kids (numbers yes) but beware of this for younger ones. Several other things while sufficient were not ideal for young children. My five-year-old ended up needing glasses and the women fitting them went straight for regular frames and seemed not to realize that she would need something that wouldn’t fall off when she was running and jumping. I ended up purchasing a second pair out of pocket as I didn’t know of rubber frames until after she had already chosen her first pair. I took my three-year-old to a different vision center in Meridian and it was significantly more kid-friendly. I see nothing wrong with the care provided to adults here though, hence the four-star review.Edit: I am increasing my review to five stars because of how great the staff and opticians were about switching out a pair of glasses that didn’t fit my daughter. The other glasses they helped her choose fit really well. This office may not be my first choice for really little ones still, but they have been nice, accommodating and professional.

Ive been going to Meridian Vision my whole life. I was very impressed with Dr. Hogg when he took over. The office staff is always so kind. Huge shout out to Bre for helping me pick the right frames and being so personable and friendly!

I have gone to Meridian Vision for about 17 years and I have always enjoyed the girls up front and today was no different. We had trouble with the first set of lenses but Bre got them returned and remade and today when I picked them up I was so happy with how the fit and how well I could see. I am very happy there and cant see me ever going any place else. Thank you Bre for your expertise and kindness.

My experience with Dr Hogg and his office staff was fantastic. Each staff member I had interaction with was kind and professional.I have sensitive eyes and Dr Hogg was able to fit me with contacts quickly with my changing vision needs. He know his stuff. I highly recommend Meridian Vision and Dr Hogg.

Came in just to get my glasses sized to my face after I lost weight. Didn’t even buy them from this place but they were so sweet, quick, and efficient. I was willing to pay for the excellent job she did and she just said “payment is the smile on your face” how awesome?! Will do business with them in the future :)

All I needed was a screw to hold my wives frame together, They help repair the frame at no cost and cleaned the glasses and put them in a brand new case. We are new to the area and will be making an appointment next time we need our eyes examined

I’m very pleased with my recent and previous visits at Meridian Vision. I received a thorough exam by Dr McElroy with some excellent results. My insurance was handled easily and prices were quoted before my purchase of new sunglasses. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The exam was fine and all..... After I order my daughter and I glasses. I was told it would take 10 days. My daughters glasses took three weeks and they finally called to tell me they were ready. My glasses are going three weeks and a day. I called at two weeks and was told they would call me and I heard nothing. I call on the three week mark and was told they were in but no one called to tell me! I asked when do you close? Was told at 1 pm. I got off work and showed up at 12:40 and they were CLOSED!!! So now I have to go into work later Monday to pick them up! Lets hope they open when they say they do since they close at a different time that was posted!!

Ive been coming here for several years to be fitted for soft contacts and I always leave satisfied. The receptionists are courteous and professional. Dr. McElroy does a thorough evaluation and explains all my options very clearly. He even remembers who I am, whereas some doctors seem more concerned about getting patients through as quickly as possible. I highly recommend this place.

As a Family we have been going to Meridian Vision for several years now. Every experience has been pleasurable and professional. I even trust them to take care of my aging Mother who suffers from Dementia and Alzheimers. They are very patient and understanding. I cannot say enough good about them.

After my son was hit in the eye with a football, causing significant pain and blurry vision, I called Meridian Vision to request an emergency exam. They got us in within minutes and Dr. McElroy treated us with great kindness and patience. As a mother who has never needed to see an optometrist, I was grateful for his professional and understanding approach, taking his time to explain in detail what he was checking for and answer all of my questions.

Been a customer for life, good service and friendly staff.I always get what I need, no problems.

I had an eye exam and chose frames, then waited for the glasses to arrive. No problem so far.Within a week one of the lenses fell out so I dropped them off to be repaired.Got them back, and yes, it happened again.When dropping them off the second time I had my two young boys in the van, so I parked by the front door, took the glasses in and told them my name.Why they wanted me to stay I have no idea, but as the boys were in the van I couldnt. I explained this to them but quite frankly their attitude stank towards me. It was very poor indeed.It was if I was the guilty party here whereas the opposite was true.Obviously, I have never been back to Meridian Vision and never will.

I have been a patient of Meridian Vision for 15 years now and there is a reason for that. Dr. McElroy is an excellent doctor and has an excellent staff. I always receive the best care and the best product with every visit. Thank you!

Our family has been seeing Dr McElroy since 2014 when we first moved to Idaho. The reviews convinced me to give Meridian Vision a try and we were not disappointed. Dr McElroy has a calm manner about him and is so great with the kids. Haley and Jeremiah have been part of the staff there since before we arrived and are just good people. As for other reviews about the time it takes for eye-wear to come in, well, that would be a critique for the makers of the ordered items and clearly not in the control of Meridian Vision. Having said that, our experience has been that the orders have generally come in within two to three weeks as estimated.

We wont be back to Meridian Vision. Recently my husband and myself wanted to explore our options with contact lenses. We were both told we werent good candidates for contacts lenses, and basically brushed off because we both have one or both eyes with astigmatism. People with astigmatism wear contacts all the time. This is just plain ridiculous. It would require someone to take the time to fit either one of us in the proper pair. Obviously, this isnt what Meridian Vision wanted to do.We took our prescriptions to another eye doctor in town, and have been properly fitted with the correct contacts, and are adjusting to them beautifully.This was a case of poor explanation of our choices, our concerns, and a real lack of doing what is best for the customer.

I had the same experience that another reviewer had. They didnt want to check to see if they took my new insurance even though I was a previous customer. I called another place and they were very willing to look it up and see if they took my insurance.

We had a really good experience. Dr. McElroy was amazing and very thorough, informative and educated my boys on do’s and don’ts. We haven’t had the best experience with eye care in the past. Meridian Vision office staff were also very friendly and patient too when we chose glasses. Very awesome!

I have been going to meridian Vision for 7 years and have never experienced any problems with them or their staff. I just went in the other day and got new glasses. The woman who helped me and the ladies at the front desk were awesome. We were in and out pretty quickly. Their new office is very nice and State of the art. I will probably continue going to them for as long as i live in Idaho. I drove all the way from Pocatello to see him due to the fact that i had problems with the optometrist there.Thanks Again to the staff that helped me.

So, I have been going to Dr. Kevin McElroy for years. Ever since I started wearing glasses, and up until today, and I was treated great by him and his staff. I think he is great, but his staff are the ones that need to be more professional, and treat customers better on the phone. Now, the girls in his office have been very unprofessional, and have been very rude to me several times on the phone. On 3/17/2011, at about 5pm I called to cancel an appointment for next week, and the receptionist asked if I would like to reschedule, and I said, No, Thank you. She then just hung up on me, and that upset me. I called her back to give her a dose of her own medicine. I said to her, Well, I just wanted to call back and say Goodbye. With a sarcastic tone she muffled, Gooood BYE!!. Then she hung up on me again. I am now a customer of Maple Grove Eye Center. This is not the first time that I have been treated badly there, and I will not be back. If I was you... I wouldnt get eye care from Meridian Vision, not unless he cleans house and starts firing these rude receptionists.

I have been a long time customer (over 15 years) and have been going to him since I was a kid. My fiance changed jobs to an out of state one and was about to lose his insurance. I called to see if we could get his prescription filled for another year so he would have contacts until he got insurance again (standard 6 month waiting period and kicks in on the 7th month) and they said no because he was due for an exam next month. The front desk lady said that they would not be able to fill them because of legal reasons, when I asked what the law was she would not answer me and kept trying to answer with policy then. I said it was sad that they would not fill them because they wanted the money from the exam. I will never support their business and will recommend other vision places from here on. I was very disappointed with his office today. He is losing a long time customer because of the actions today.I would also like to tell me story with meridian vision along with my fiances. A little over a year ago I decided I wanted a pair of glasses. Since I wasnt going to wear them the majority of the time I bought his cheap $100 glasses. I get them in and they are way to strong of a prescription, so string I cant wear them without getting an instant headache. I tell him this and I go back in. He says he wont change them because they are already lower than my contacts and a weaker prescription than what I had in the 6th grade (im 27 now and that is how long I had been going to him). I tell him again that they are to strong and that I cant see out of them. He tells me to just get used to them. I have tried to her used to them and finally gave up. I wasted to much money on those glasses for them not to work and he didnt want to change them because he is to lazy.

This is my second year (visit) with Dr. McElroy and I can say with confidence I will always go to him as long as Im living in the valley. Ive gone to an eye doctor since I was a kid and have never felt one way or the other about any of them. What sets Dr. McElroy apart from the others is that hes taken the extra effort to educate me during my visits. Hes 2 for 2 on teaching me something new that Ive been able to apply to my eye care routine. My previous eye docs have always been a quick in and out visit without much substance, I really value Dr. McElroys passion and intelligence. If youre just cruising google looking for an optometrist I highly recommend you go to Meridian Vision. Girls at the front desk are awesome too, super friendly place.

After 30 years of seeing eye doctors in East Idaho, we moved to the Treasure Valley and I started the search for new doctors, dentists, and optometrists. I found that Meridian Vision came highly recommended by many of my friends and co-workers. After my first visit there, I was not let down. The friendly staff greeted me and took care of me right away. Dr. McElroy took the time to visit with me about my past eye history and then gave me a relaxed and comfortable exam. Afterwards, he even took the time to chat with me personally about our experience moving to the valley and he discovered about my love for horses and involvement in rodeo in the area. Each year when I return, Dr. McElroy is sure to remember and asks about me personally and how my horses are doing. He takes a genuine interest in getting to know me, my hobbies and work profession so he can help provide me with the best eye care possible.I look forward to returning to them every year for my annual exam and seeing the girls up front. I was in last week ordering a new pair of glasses. Debbie was Very helpful as I tried on MANY pair and giving me her honest professional opinion about how the frames fit and looked on me. They even let me take 3 pair home to show my family before I made my final decision. When I returned the next day to place my order, Debbie had familiarized herself with my insurance plan and explained everything that would be covered by the company and how much was left for me. It made choosing glasses very quick and easy for me. I appreciated their quick help as I usually have to run to the doctor on my lunch hour.After reading some of the other reviews below, I can tell you over the 5 years that I have been going to Meridian Vision, I did have one poor experience only because of a rude front staff person as well that I see is no longer working there. The new location and office is beautiful, warm and welcoming as are the people working there now. I am always happy to recommend them now to others!

I have been a patient at Meridian Vision for many years. I have NEVER been treated rudely or unfairly or as unimportant by any one employees in the office, nor Dr. McElroy. Dr. McElroy is a TOP NOTCH Dr. Hes one of the best Drs I have ever been to (including doctors of other specialties). He has never patronized me or said or treated me in any way that has cause me to feel stupid for my lack of knowledge in some things. When I dont understand something I ask him what it/that means and he always explains to me what it is I am asking about in laymens terms without leaving me feeling stupid for not knowing something. When he greets me he is always friendly and warm. My waiting time to be seen for my appointment has never been longer than about 7 minutes. I dont even have time to completely read an article in one of the many magazines available to me. (:I STRONGLY recommend Dr. McElroy to be your vision specialist of choice!

I just called to make an appointment for husband, so true bad customer service. Asked if they exceptied goverment BC and she told me that insurance dosent cover vision without even checking. I told her i have the card in front of me and vison is on it and its covered . she said call them and find out. I asked her r u postive and she said yes. WOW WOW WOW. Sounded like someone young. i called another office and guess what they except the insurance and vision has coverage so i made an appointment with them.

Had an emergency with broken glasses and the guy at front desk wanted nothing to do with trying to get me in quicker than 10 days.Been a loyal customer for 20 years.

Hes mean and grumpy. I might have just caught him on a bad day, but I wont be back to find out.edit: Perhaps you need to keep better records.
