Do not go here thinking you will get notary services that they advertise. Made an appointment online for 1:30pm (with confirmation) and when I arrived, I was told there was no notary available today and making the appointment online doesnt always work. Very poor attitude and customer service.
The two african american boy behind the counter are always taking there time behind the counter when its time to help the costumer like im so glade i just have a 3 month p.o box plan i will not be renewing, it seem all this store hires it seems is like fresh out of high school kids that either have no idea what they are doing, screwing up your service or actin as though they dont want to work so there taking there sweet time its like just because your at work dosent mean you drag your behind with helping costumers, last week i stood in line with no one else in the store for like 5 or 10 min no greeting no sorry maim i will be right with you just the same to african american males starring at the computer screen as if a customer isnt standing in line waiting for assistance, i dont want to see how there going to be during the holidays, And honestly I dont with talking to management about her workers period, I will be opening me up a box at a new location after my time is up.
What a great experience this time of the year and during covid-19! Darlene was pleasant, professional and helpful beyond measure. The store was clean and orderly. Would definitely recommend UPS at this location! Thank you Darlene for your help and positive attitude! Happy Holidays!

The UPS drivers literally just leave door tags and dont even try to deliver packages. This has happened multiple times to me. The website SUCKS and customer service is the worst.The guy in this location I talked to was super nice though! So people in the actual store are nice!
Could be a little more professional as you enter into the store. Instead of having it posted on the door you need to have a mask 😷 on . This lady walks in they screaming it at her . That’s NOT the way to handle business. Shot I had better service when the teenagers were working there . At least they greet when you come in . Smh 🤦🏽♀️

Very very cheerful, patient and pleasant lady behind the desk everytime Im in the Merrillville store. With a huge line or no line she is GREAT! She might be the only employee bc shes always there when I go, she does it all!! You can just hear her smile even with a mask on!

I have had nothing but positive interactions at this particular UPS Store. I am always greeted and given personable attention, which is hard to find these days. Thank you keep up the good work everyone. UPDATE - an opportunity definitely exists for them to train their newer employees. I used to love going in the store...but as of late, I’m always told what CANNOT be done even before I tell them what I’ve come in to the store for. Additionally, everything COSTS. I bought a box for $5.20 (no issues with that) but surprisingly my total came to $7.56??? When I asked why so much when the price of the box showed $5.20, I was told it would cost $2.00 for them to TAPE the box I’d just purchased from their store...make this make sense.
Darlene is rude and disrespectful. Doesnt care about customer service. Shouldnt even be there. Im assuming shes the franchise owner. The other employees are great and friendly. But Darlene is by far the most crabby rude person ever. I come here alot for business so I see her alot and decided Im gonna put a review about her.. 1 star because of her. But Id give 5 for the other employees
Make sure you bring what ever your returning in a box. Cause it cost me 33 bucks for them to put it in a box. Rediculouse price for cardboard .
Darlene that was there on 11-4-19 was awesome. Very nice and pleasant smile and friendly greetings to all the customers. Very helpful and efficient. Will definitely be using UPS store in Merrillville for all my needs. Thanks again Darlene you made my day even though it is still a mess. Anastasia😉
I swear this is the only store that has the rudest employees. No hi, good morning and before you even speak and say what your needs are theyre telling you what they need and what they THINK you did wrong. Highland is way better!
Every time I go in here, the people really seem to hate their job. The woman working the counter today was so rude to the customer in front of me I couldnt believe it. Of course, it was no different when it was my turn. She was totally dismissive and did not want to provide any customer service. She didnt want to look for my package or even check the door tag numbers in the system, until I specifically asked her to (twice). Im not accustomed to having to beg people to do their job. So, I handed her both door tags and she reluctantly typed one in her computer and handed them both back to me. I then asked if she could please check the second one, and she snaps, Well, which one did you give me!? Trying to keep my composure, said I had given her both and didnt know which one she had already checked (as I couldnt see she was typing). Instead of just checking the darn door tag number, she wants to instead argue with me about whether or not I handed her both pieces of paper! Really?? Just check them both then. Dont snap at the customer because you cant remember which one you typed in your computer 30 seconds prior.Im still shocked about the interaction I just had. I will plan on having packages delivered to my office and lug them home on the train, or have them held at another location from now on because, frankly, this was the last straw. I dont even care that I have to drive out of my way or carry a bunch of extra stuff on my commute. Anything is better than having to deal with this store and their employees again.Its unfortunate because this is a store owned and run by someone that lives in the community. I like to support local businesses when I can, but if you cant treat your neighbors/customers with respect, I cant do business with you.
Made an appointment for a notary, got a confirmation email, made it on time just to wait in line and when it came to me was told that the notary was out sick so no one can help me. What a waste of time.
Been going to this store ever since quarantine happened and never had an issue with any of my packages or the workers there! Others need to realize that this is a stressful timeand quarantine isn’t fun but they’re doing the best they can during this pandemic.
Walked in the door I said hi, lady didn’t even speak...Then she said, can I help you and walked over and helped another customer, didn’t even say excuse me or anything or give me a few moments while I help my associate with another customer..Very rude, no customer service skillsNeed Training

I had a good experience here. I had to return a recalled product with a shipping label. I didn’t have it boxed or anything, just the label. The lady was nice, sold me a box and said she would pack it up herself and ship it out. She was friendly and apologized for the wait, which wasn’t even very long.
No wonder you see ups stores closing .First time at this location An the last . Lost my package An the people here including store manager that signed for the package (apple laptop) has no idea where it went. Imagine thatUpdate : so an employee found my package at the store with my first name only . But I still blame management not the employees . If I was the store owner I would have my personal cell phone available - I asked for his contract number but no one had it . Nice way to run a business.

Ive had a box and perfect experiences there for 18 mo. My previous experience includes 40 years of shipping parcels domestically and internationally, LTL freight and I promise you that without exception, have had nothing but quick and efficient service exactly the way I want. The complainers above speak from a retail background and do not seem to appreciate that this is shipping, NOT retail. Good shipping is a relay race and cutesy tummy rubbing conversation at the hand-off and other niceties to placate well meaning but ignorant customers make for a slow, frustrating and unprofitable shipping operation, just like the absolutely unusable Post Office nightmare 3 blocks away.FYI-“The Postal Service has incurred cumulative net losses of $63.6 billion from 2007 through June 30, 2017, and projects continuing annual net losses in the future absent legislative and regulatory change,” Thursdays USPS release read. The Postal Service also warned it will most likely default on $6.9 billion in payments for future retiree health benefits for the fifth consecutive year. Never an issue in 15+ visits
My experience was terrible. First off no greeting, then the chick snatches the package, ask did I need a receipt with an attitude, and no have a good day. I work retail to so I know this is how your suppose to be with customers entering and leaving the establishment. If they dont like working with the public find another job its not my fault your having a bad day. Hope she wasnt management how unprofessional. I will not be back should have just went to Office Depot.
Wow. The customer service here is akin to the immigration office, DMV, or social security office in Chicago..... terrible! I held down my anger as I heard the store manager herself (D.H) answer my husband’s question about an Amazon return by asking him another question with the most condescension I’ve heard in a while! She picked up on her attitude after she seen my face and started to smile, laugh and giggle as we left the store. I don’t understand why she was this way as it’s post holiday season, we were only people there, and the store was empty. Too bad, we will never come to this location if we wanted to get mistreated I’d save money at least by going to USPS. We will be complaining to Amazon too.
If you go that work in this location are amazing I was on my way to work trying to catch a train and I had my husband go in and try to return something that we had purchased from Amazon did not have my password for Amazon to login and they did everything they could to try and print the label finally they had to piece together the label but they got the package on it’s way These employees go above and beyond to satisfy the customer I would highly recommend this location Collise Rodriguez
Ive been coming here for several months now and never had a bad experience. Ive had awful experiences with the USPS and will use this UPS location over our local post office 100% of the time, if at all possible. The line at the post office is almost always excessively long, and the employees there seem annoyed to have to do their job. So far the employees at this UPS location have been pleasant to me, and Ive never waited more than a minute or two.

Drove an hour here to pick up a package for my wife, who cant get to the store during their business hours, only to be told that they cant release anything except to her. It sure wouldve been nice to know that ahead of time, like when she called earlier to make sure her package was waiting.
The worst customer service Ive ever experienced! And the lazy delivery driver didnt even come to my door or leave a note. I watched as he just drove around for 2 mins, never getting out of his truck and then left. I checked online and he said he tried to make delivery but customer didnt answer. So instead of trying again the next day, he decided to keep my package on his truck Friday, Saturday, Sunday and delivery to access point Monday by 7pm.. So i have to wait 5 extra days because the driver was too lazy to look for my apartment. Of course he could have left it in the club house.. Thats what usps and fedex does..
