So beyond happy that we found this gem! Our first visit was last night for the BEST gelato I’ve ever had. We were so impressed that we came back today to try their paninis. And let me tell you, they did NOT disappoint. Also, the rainbow cookies are to die for, they just melt right in your mouth! My Italian roots are very pleased, and we will definitely be returning over and over again!

Great Ice Crean! There ice cream changes everyday. Except for the African Chocolate (which is my Favorite).The serving size are decent too.Definitely try it out.

This is a small ice cream shop but they had many flavors to choose from. There was lots of seating and the place was nice and clean. The gelato is unbelievably good, I got the coffee and the stupidity flavors. I’m definitely going back to this place.

My boyfriend and I decided that we wanted to make pizza from scratch so being new to Gilbert Arizona I jumped on Google to look for Italian markets near me and found Dolce Vita and Im glad we decided to shop there. Its a cute store with 2 sides to it one is there delicious homemade gelato store area and the other is there deli where you can buy everything from meats to pasta. Everything we purchased from here for our homemade pizza was delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

Best of all Gelatos! Just like being in Italy. Lots of flavors, some flavors are rotated and may be available on different days

I have to remind myself to only get a small and even that’s a lot to eat! But sooo worth it! They will happily give you taste samples, just don’t get filled up on samples :)

The best authentic Italian sandwiches and Gelato.

We have come for the gelato several times and its always excellent. Very consistent product with inventive flavors, good service. When its busy they have several servers so even if there is a long line it moves quickly you dont have to wait that long...its worth the wait anyway. Flavors: Some of our favorites are Stupify (made with little bits of crunchy cookies), espresso, limoncello, hazelnut. You can ask for little tastes if you are not sure. You can ask for a smaller scoop of two flavors in one dish also. Very reasonably priced for authentic Italian Gelato.

I follow the last customer, I go out of my way to come here. The young boy asked if I have a mask, I asked if he had one for me and he said no. Well unfortunately for them most places that all for masks will give them to customers because in aerosols we dont have to live in fear thanks to our governor. I walked out the last time. Ill wear a mask but youll have to give me one because I dont carry them with me unless Im going on a plane.Ive been vacinated and have had covid. When does this stop? There is a balance loose a customer over masks while 8 people are in your store getting Gelato not a recommendation by the CDC like you do pointed out in the last post. So sad that we pay ways like this. ✌️

Best gelato Ive ever had. Excellent customer service too, my wife and I are constantly coming back to this place. Prices are actually really reasonable too. I love the 1 star reviews whining about the prices, try getting gelato up in Scottsdale or Cave Creek/Carefree. Youll pay at least double what this place charges.

Best Gelato in AZ. Wonderful texture and bright flavors. Attached to a lunch counter and Italian grocery. For after meal treat, this is it. This handcrafted delicacy is expensive and worth every penny.

Not only the best gelato in town! But also the best sausage ravioli for lunch! Its hard not blow through my budget here on the weekends. My favorite part is dropping in on the Italian language meetup on Sunday mornings.

Love the gelato but the girl that was working the counter was extremely rude. So sad that Covid has absolutely killed customer service at so many placesSince I can’t reply to your reply, my husband and I were out riding our bikes and thought we would stop and grab some gelato. Since we were out riding we had not brought our masks with us. All my husband had was his wallet. I understand that you can’t just hand out masks like candy but in this case it would have been so appreciated if you could have offered us just one so one of us could have ordered and the other stepped outside. I am always willing to wear a mask in businesses that ask me to do so but the circumstances of the bike ride made it impossible. I literally had no way of getting a mask. I was willing to hold my shirt up the entire time while ordering even, but that wasn’t taken well. All I’m saying is if I would have driven there I would have certainly had a mask on when entering and ordering so please don’t attack me for blatantly not following the rules, that was not the case.

The location of this gelateria in NE Mesa,AZ could easily compete in any American city with Italian heritage neighborhoods. My double dare is Gelato Dolce Vita deserves a place at the least as a Top 10 location for gelato and sorbetto across the US. Walter Bergamaschi born in Italy returned to train at Carpagiani and earned his certification to bring Italys sweet gift to the desert SW.Less than 5 minutes from the Falcon Field airport you could easily fly in and chill with best. The recipes show no hint of being Americanized with DQ or Baskin Robbins style flavors.If it were possible to add a 6th start to this review I would do it! Bravo and Molto Grazie to Walter for picking the corner of Brown & Higley in Mesa, AZ as the epicenter of gelato in the desert SW!😎😎😎

Good gelato, terrible customer service. My family and I have been going here for years and used to absolutely love the place, but the last couple times the service has been absolutely atrocious! They have hired some young kids that do not seem to know how to treat people.

Very crowded but yummy gelato!

If I am mood for gelato this place is BY FAR my favorite. Best gelato in Phoenix, no joke. The chef graduated from the Gelato University in Italy and his flavor “Stupefy” is an award winner. My favorite flavors are, “Dulce de Leche” and “Crème brûlée “. I definitely recommend this place... believe me, you won’t regret it.

The gelato was the best Ive had! I loved all their varieties and they were very willing to let you try a bunch of flavors. Their prices are competitive and definitely worth every penny!

This place was a huge surprise to me. Ive passed by it many times, but met a friend here for lunch and was blown away. Super authentic, my sandwich was quality, and I loved the gelato.

Loved this place! Stopped in for semolina flour (cant find that anywhere) and stayed for a quick bite. The deli sandwiches were so good we took one home for later. Followed that up with the best gelato weve ever tasted. Very friendly owners make this a new favorite spot for us.

My husband took me here for my birthday earlier this month and it was the most wonderful treat. Did you know that where Ice cream is airier and has a higher fat content, that gelato is softer and is more condensed with flavor? Why settle for icecream? When you could have this yummy-ness?

Bomb gelato - Rude service.I’ve been going here for years and appalled by the rude service, especially during quarantine. I always choose to shop local to support local businesses but these guys customer service is a joke.In Response to owner response below:1) I have a note from Doctor saying im not suppose to wear one due to medical condition.2) If you mandate masks, you should supply them to people as the people outside had the same complaint.3) You were not present at the time, your son was so saying WE is a lie. Plus look at your response and how you come off, shows how yall are rude. He never once offered online, he said by phone. I then said okay, how do i know which flavors to choose from- he responded with I dont know. At that time i said forget it and wouldnt give yall my business anymore. So if youre going to force things, have solutions and be polite and you prob will have less issues with customers.

Great food, great people. The Italian grocery part is extremely cool too. The food is as fresh as it can be and some of the cheese tastes like it was just made. It was so good. The ham melts in your mouth with the cheese and mmmmmmmmm!

Real Gelato, run by real Italians. Creamy, smooth and delicious. Coming from a very Italian area of New England this is very good.

I’m from Sicily I lived in Chicago for 30 years, sorry but these guys don’t know how to make a panini to dry throw some oil, salt, pepper on that bread do something and purchase a panini grill Frogetaboutit!!

The hygienic standards have really fallen here. We use to enjoy the gelato but on our last visit the owner (?) kept touching his hair with his gloves on, then using those same gloves to serve gelato. After seeing that we werent hungry.

It was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised. Everything is homemade and delicious! The tiramisu was excellent! The gelato was out of this world! Definitely highly recommend this place!

I’ve had gelato in big cities throughout the USA and even in Italy. They can’t touch Dolce Vita and Walt’s expertise. We bring all of our out of town guests to Dolce Vita and it’s another fond memory of their visit to Mesa.

Amazing gelato!! Better than what I had in Italy! Whats not to say about Dolce Vita - great food, fantastic gelato - Marta, Walter and the staff make you feel welcome and give advice on the various meets and cheeses.

Honestly the best gelato!! Its a cute mom and pop shop owned by the sweetest Italian family and everything is homemade and fresh every day. There are many flavors to try from, from Stracciatella to tart fruit flavors, and my favorite: dark chocolate. 10/10 bring your family!

I Have to say I randomly came across this hidden gem. This place is cozy, Family friendly and a great atmosphere. Everyone in the store is with a big smile and very kind. The gelato here is authentic.It is a 35 miles both ways fr us but fully worth the drive. We as a family with 2 kids enjoys the gelato here. Not to mention the restaurant on the on the side and also they have gluten free pasta and other products.

I have been a frequent customer here for the last 2 years. The food is fantastic! It seems like Im getting a panini almost once a week. Everything is great from the bread, the cheese, and the meats. Extremely authentic and high quality products are used. Plus the service always comes with a smile!Great hole in the wall grocer/cafe.

Best I have ever had. I suggest the espresso. It is so delicious. I also really enjoyed back then the peanut butter flavor but I did not see it. I hope they bring it back soon because I cant wait to tasted once again. Staff was of course so sweet and was not bothered by the amount of samples I had to do before I could decide on which one I wanted. They were so sweet and I hope that they stay there for a long time cuz they bring so much light into that stablishment. I still remember when it first opened it was just a small little shop and I was there on the grand opening. Now seeing how it has become one of the greatest places to go is remarkable and I hope they keep up the great work!!!!!!!

This neat little gelato shop is delightful! There was close to 20 flavors to choose from and it was no problem to get a generous sample of several flavors! They also have a card to track your purchases and earns a reward after so many....and its for each purchase, not each visit! I got 6 stamps on my first visit! Delicious flavor and the creaminess of the gelato made it perfect!

The BEST Gelato I have ever eaten!!

We are Gelato enthusiasts and were visiting Phoenix and drove all over the Metro to find the best Gelato. We believe we found it at GDV in Mesa. Not only was the many flavored Gelatos the best tasting, the small shop old country atmosphere was an added treat. My wife and I both give it 5 stars. Highly recommended!

Love it, you can not under any circumstances find a better place to get gelato, or even ice cream for that matter! The flavors are so crisp and clean, you can always tell what flavors they are. Its also an Italian grocer so you will find items that you would normally have to fly to Italy for.

This place is really a little drop of heaven. Their selection is exceptional and the flavors are unbelievable.This is a you need to try it to believe it. Test the flavors and try what you like. Personally the immersion is a selling point as well, there was a dribble of a language barrier and it felt cool to be out of my element in real gelateria

I have been going here when they only had gelato and loved it right away. Everything is authentic and quality food. The gelato is super good. The deli has great sandwiches and pastas.I have a friend that is gluten free and can eat any of the breads and pastas with no reactions. All of the flour used is imported and not processed in the US.This is a small family owned business from an Italian family who takes pride in what they do. Unique and quality food that is hard to find in Mesa.
