As far as customer service 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐As far as being able to find or try equipment they sell but not have on hand, has certainly made the whole Guitar Centar experience a ..well something you could do from home ... or a cell phone ....My first experience with Guitar Centar was in 86 out of California..and Wow the place had everything music had to offer I felt like I could play anything I wanted the choices were endless...its that WOW effect thats just not there anymore....I like the whole shoping experience the whole customer attention ...and honestly picking up the instrument that cost over 1000.00 before I bring it home....not the a chance on a truck tossed around then left at the front door......my the good times have left the building.....sry if Ive offended any patrons...FYI I received my Guitar (EVH stealth special)Through zZounds after 7 months of ordering thorugh Guitar Center....and still no site..I didnt believe that some place I had never heard of infact did have my dream Guitar..and had it the next day....

Total upset, with a total expectation and being so familiar with this kind of stores. I never fathom the day where they would carry the latest cheap guitars that you see on Amazon and all those other sites. Really for the lack of carrying I say. I only handful of top brands there accessible and they were not even the best of the crop from those brands. But between the other sister stores, they were carrying the most inventory out of them. I was thinking that they were going to shut the whole chain down the way they cleared out everything. Not just me was wondering. But for them to get rid of the best brands and quality instruments and replace the inventory with cheaper and beginners to hobbyists level instruments. No wonder no one wants to shop there. Let alone their inflated prices too. I guess make up the difference of money. I also noticed that the help does want to help. I saw a lady hunting down someone for assitance that took her over 20 mins to even get someone to pass the buck along to another loyal crew member to the almighty lord of guitar center.Yeah very disappointed. Back in the good ole days these places thrived. Socially, market was rich and very knowledgeable willing to share. Now a days the help doesnt know how to play what they sell. How crazy, if a vacumn cleaner salesman didnt know how to use what they were pushing. Wouldnt be very useful. So they just dont care. Dont care for the job, dont care for the company, dont care about anyone else interested thinking that they were smart and intelligent about what one would be interested in the musical instrument field. So Bullocks the the company for not even caring as well for letting this stuff happen under their watch. And Bullocks to those lost employees that hate their job and dont even have an once self pride or dignity to even try to help a kid or an adult to better themselves and actually look up to them as a source of knowledge and willing to part the hard earned cash on them and for something they believe is a well worthy buy.I say find a mom and pop shop better over all experience.Enjoy.

Jared the repair man is awesome! I bought a ukulele from them years back and the nut fell out. I was so bummed because most cheap ukuleles arent worth it to fix. But he was very nice to replace the nut with no problems! It sounds better than it did when I bought it. If you have needs for repair, go see Jared!

Ive bought a few things from GC over the years, but variety has always been an issue when I walk into these stores. I know most people gravitate towards Strat and Les Paul shaped guitars. But can GC add a Metal section at least, I love the more extreme shaped guitars, and I think shops are crazy if they think they dont sell.

A young man named Marco helped me and he was very knowledgeable about the piano keyboards. I wanted a birthday present that wouldnt break the bank but was still a good quality. He was very helpful and played them for me. He plays very well. He even carried it to my car for me. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The sales experience here is fine, but the lessons are such a mess. If you want to reschedule anything, good luck getting ahold of anyone. They also billed me for extra lessons I didn’t order after they said they would not do that. On top of that, I showed up for a scheduled lesson that somehow was not even on their books even though they told me it was a recurring time slot. The process for signing up for lessons makes no sense and they want you to set up a monthly payment forever. Get it together guys! The actual lessons are great and the instructors are awesome, but it’s not with the hassle anymore. Such a scam.

Had good service and had all the necessary materials to help me start off, they allow you to try out the instruments and see if it fits your needs. Overall this place is a good store if you want to have good service and a fun time.

The staff was friendly and helpful when I went to pick up my oxygen pro 49 midi the other day. It was also cool that they have stations where you can play/test new guitars and such before purchasing.

Real simple; bag of picks. Display says $5.99. They charge me $6.49 plus tax.I know its only 50 cents, but the girl behind the counter couldnt be bothered even when I showed the display.Pathetic. Poor management. Poor selection.

This place is great!! The people are nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. You can try a lot of different instruments and just have fun hanging out even if you are not there to buy just yet!

Cool store. It lessons department needs reworking and I often ask myself why I can go in there stand near the guitars for over 30 minutes and not once be approached by a sales person. I mean it’s kinda nice not to be bother but at the same time I won’t ever be able to get a good guitar that fits me.

They didn’t have the product I needed but they offered to order it for me and suggested another retailer I could try. Really appreciated that quality customer service.

First time in this place and I was in awe! Very large and spacious with all the walls and aisles filled with musical thingamajigs... a musicians dream! I myself have no inclination to play anything nor do I have any talent (unfortunately)... but if I did-- Id go here!

Do not shop here. Went in to buy a drum kit. They require masks still even though anyone who wants a vaccine has been able to get it for a little while. In other words, they subscribe to the kabuki theater that is mask wearing today. Im not going to wear a mask to protect those that decided, in their infinite wisdom, to not get vaccinated. Thats their problem. GC is free to demand masks but Im free to give them one star and not buy my drum kit there. When they decide to treat me like Im vaccinated, I might be back. And I might change my rating, then, too.

Selection was great but nothing was in stock, even willing to drive to another location they did not have anything in stock.They also inventory their display items which they dont sell. Some of their employees didnt know that and told me they had one in stock wasting a trip.While I was there asking for a suggestion on snares they seemed bothered to even speak to me unless I knew exactly what I wanted.

There is a manager that we have followed for over 5 years that is awesome. Adam is why we have continued shopping at Guitar center. This manager puts customer service wannabes to shame. Adam has never sold us something we don”t need. He’s honest and trustworthy. He has always called back when he said he would. He even attempts to communicate in Spanish with some clients including my husband. Adam worked at Metrocenter Store then was transferred to Mesa and now at his current store. Although he”s always busy we really don’t mind because Guitar Center is a place where you can “hang out” and try a guitar or a keyboard or even a piano!

Went in today (4/6/21) to buy some guitar supplies and was confronted by a sales associate. He asked me if I had a mask and I said no because I have been vaccinated with my the Moderna booster almost two months ago. He said that corporate required me to wear one anyway. I replied I refuse to wear one, then he said you will have to leave. I said You just lost money. As I was walking away. he rudely replied, I guess if you have money, you can do what you want. Totally unacceptable! I will never do business with guitar center ever again!!!

My go to guitar store. They always have the most inventory on hand. If they dont have something I need I know they can order it to be shipped to my house

Not a big selection of high-end acoustic guitars.

I needed a few sets of guitar strings, so I drove to my nearest Guitar Center- this one in Mesa. HOWEVER, I got no strings because they have closed this location permanently. Hard to know if its due to the Chapter 11 bankruptcy that Guitar Center Inc. filed at the end of 2019, or the fact that the pandemic brought all live music performances to an abrupt halt a little over a year ago, or some combination of the two, but Im guessing this is far from the ONLY store they vacated. Its sad, really.

3rd time going into this location and nobody ever wants to offer to help. 2 or 3 employees hanging around in the front room. I was over by guitars, staring at a Gibson Les Paul for 10 minutes. Then over by the counter, standing for 5 minutes while an employee was on the phone, he gets off the phone and rushes away to go hangout with his other employees. I don’t know why it always seems like I’m invincible when I go there. I had questions on speakers, was interested in a new guitar, possibly a dj controller. Nobody cares to help at this location, well at least help me anyways. I did hear an employee offer 1 person help (there was maybe 3 customers in the whole store mind you). Horrible customer service guys!!

I stopped in this location after buying a new acoustic guitar about a week prior. Mike, the guitar technician, was quick to make the adjustments on the truss rod and brought it to within factory spec. There was a bit of a miscommunication from the Tempe store (where I bought the guitar) regarding what adjustments were included with the purchase versus ones that cost an additional fee. Mike politely clarified for me what was/wasn’t part of the initial setup included with my purchase. He was very professional, and I truly appreciate his help.

The guy who helped me was phenomenal. The guitar I wanted was slightly damaged and he talked me out of buying it. Then he showed me SIX other options which he had to get from the back...during Christmas week at peak time! I found a guitar that my husband LOVES. It was overpriced but I expect that at a major chain to be honest.

The music was so loud we couldnt hear ourselves think and it kept bouncing from baby shark to hard metal. When we asked the employees for help they were dismissive and didnt even answer the question we asked if they could even hear it. Beautiful plaza on the outside but an unprofessional store on the inside. Youd be better off just shopping online.

Pretty much a normal guitar center. Most of the guitar strings and essentials are out of stock when I stop by, but otherwise pretty good.

The customer service was absolutely fantastic and they had a wide selection to choose from. Our guy was so helpful, being newbies and all, we didnt quite know all the details we needed to make this gift as special as possible. He made sure we had all we needed and Im thrilled with our purchases.Wed visited 2 other places prior, and did not have the same experience. Im glad we didnt give up and we found Guitar Center! Was there with my 2 yo grandson and 10 yo granddaughter and they let u touch everything, my granddaughter played the keyboard and me and my grandson enjoyed the percussion area.

A lot of acoustic guitars are out of stock. But there are plenty of other things to look at and try.

This began as a zero stars, but now, like last time I bought an expensive Martin guitar, they get 5 again. That Martin is fabulous, but its hard for me to play because Im so small. Of course, I called Guitar Center Mesa to find a Martin Jr. three quarter guitar for me. Apparently, right now youd have better luck winning the lottery while being struck by lightning. I spoke to 2 different salesmen on several occasions. I was willing to take a floor model, a pre-owned..anything. There were a couple of floor models at other stores but nothing new. I was told I would get no discount because it was a floor model. I was surprised, as Ive never NOT gotten a floor model discount. Then yesterday I called and asked the salesman if I could put down half as a deposit and pay the other half when the guitar arrived. Again, no. At that point, Id had it. Im a repeat, cash paying customer, and I really felt this store was taking a bit beyond full advantage of the lack of these guitars available. I was going to give a nasty review, but decided to try one more time and speak to the store manager. He was not available, but to my pleasure I got to speak to the Customer Service manager, Sammy. He is the definition of the five star standard. I explained it all to him, and when I was finished he jumped on his computer and began looking for a guitar. Within an hour or so he called me back. He found an unopened floor model in New Mexico. Brand new, but Sammy gave me a lower price than anybody. And Ive called EVERYBODY looking for this guitar. He went on to tell me he had already had it shipped to his store and when it arrives hell call me so I can come pay and pick it up.I cant really express how truly awesome it is to have one person care enough to do what it takes to resolve a customers issue. And I was asking a lot; these guitars are seriously back ordered. Sammy absolutely delivered. The deal he made for me far exceeded my expectations. From what I had seen, I was expecting to pay a lot more.Even if Guitar Center Mesa is a road trip from where you are, go anyway. It is worth it to have access to Sammy should you have any issues. He really was able to put a dream deal together for me VERY quickly. There is also a lot to be said for doing business with someone you KNOW cares about your total satisfaction. Guitar Center Mesa is that kind of store.

Usually love guitar center, especially this one. I also understand guidelines due to corona. They had two employees on their lunch break in the accoustic room playing guitar, not buying anything. And their limit for that room is two people. We waited 20 minutes and still couldnt go in there. Well, you couldve had a pretty nice sale on your hands but you lost us.

The team there helped me to trade in used gear for store credit to purchase a new guitar at a great price!

I ordered a simple guitar cable. I needed it very soon but when I ordered the cable, I said curbside pickup because I thought it would be fastest. Well, I was expecting them to say my order was ready that day, but I got an email about 2 hours later saying my order wouldnt be ready for a week. If I knew I had to wait that long, I wouldve had them deliver to my house.

I have been to this store MANY time and really like/recommend it. The staff is nice and helpful - when you ask them for help (they dont bug you if you dont - so dont mistake this for ignoring you). Also, i bought many guitars for here and some i didnt like and they were more than happy to take them back (no questions asked). So now i ended up with just the right gear that i really love! Guitar center has almost everything you can ask for, its just so sales oriented it feels uncomfortable at times. Choose local if possible.

I mean, your expectations are already low if you’ve been to a GC before, but now it’s just sad.Hadn’t been to a GC in a long time, but it’s still the same pushy sales tactics, poorly cared for instruments, and sales staff who’d rather boat about their gear and the bands they’ve played with than actually provide help.Pass.

This is a great spot to find gear when you need it right away and cant wait for something to ship. Staff was very cool.

I finally decided to learn how to play the guitar. I went into guitar centre to purchase an epaphone.When I walked in they told me I needed a mask..I explained that I have severe asthma and I didnt feel like Having my day interrupted with a brush with death and a trip to the emergency Room....The 2 gentlemen I was dealing with accepted that and I spent the next 25 or 30 minutes in the store picking out a guitar.....It was all ordered And the cashier had my money in his hand ready to put it in the register and give me my receipt when out of nowhere A third very horrible person with a chip on his shoulder told me I needed a mask to be in the store....I asked him if I could just finish my transaction and get my receipt he said no.That is when the cashier reluctantly handed me back my money And I left.....This person has no business being A manager or In the customer service Industry.

Guitar Center has really gone downhill.half the strings are empty, guitars now have locks on them so you cant play them?!!?!Its over priced!!The only thing worth buying their anymore is just strings(if you can find them) and picks.It used to be just fun for any guitarist to visit the Guitar Center even if you werent going to buy something it was just a great place to go.Now they have bearly anything to look at.Really really disaponted in this place it looks as if its going out of buisness

This store is awesome! They almost have everything there for guitars. I came to find a book to learn more of guitar, but all they had was books of easy songs and popular songs, nothing to simply teach guitar fundamentals. Other than that, everyone there is helpful and pretty laid back. I gave it a four star because I couldnt find a basic guitar book. Other than that, I had no complaints!

Let me start by saying I love Guitar Center. For the gear. Customer service and general vibe, or ambiance, of the place generally leaves a lot to be desired. It happens everytime. I get excited to go, like a kid at a candy store, immeasurably excited about all the different instruments and fantasizing about finding that perfect guitar or synth, or what have you... But every time I go, I feel like I am looked at and treated like some weirdo who is a bother to be around. Even when I am asked Hey man, you need help finding anything? I feel like instead of being genuinely helpful, they just want to get me out of there faster so they can stop worrying about if they have to actually talk to me or something. I have left the store multiple times with $400-$500 bucks in my pocket that I wanted to spend without spending a single dollar because I felt like I wasnt welcome here. Its honestly pretty sad. I dont need much. Just dont act annoyed with my presence. Thats really it.
