Paul (saleman) sold me a GE120 air condition unit in lieu of 220. When informing him of his mistake he simply refused to accept it. Moreover, he mentioned his company return policy. He acted quite unprofessional when explaining the situation.

My contractor recommended Barto for all kitchen appliances and I wanted to give my money to a local business. I dealt with Terri. Everything was ordered and delivered on the day we agreed upon. They do use another company for delivery and you have to pay for it so be ready for that. Upon delivery it was noticed that the range hood was missing so I called Barto and Terri said it was on backorder. She never mentioned it to me and when I told her that she said I should have known as the invoice did not have a SKU # on it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!? I told her I was not happy as if I had known about this I would have waited and have ALL items delivered when the hood was there. I called a few times to check on the hood as Terri did not follow up. Eventually I was told it was in stock and they wanted it immediately picked up which really ticked me off after the whole debacle. Now I am having everything installed and it turns out the hood came without an extension. I specifically told Terri I have 12ft ceilings as she asked and YET she never ordered the hood with the extension. I called today and was again transferred to Terri. I explained the issue and she was very rude. I do house flips and I will NEVER deal with her again nor will I buy from Barto at this point. Super disappointed in the service.
Worst experience. Save yourself time and money by going to Home Depot or another appliance store that won’t sell you appliances that don’t work upon arrival & instead of taking them back will send their handyman out to try and fix. Why would you buy a brand new appliance at full price for some guy to have to repair it? Even worse was having to deal with the owner who is beyond rude and unprofessional.
I have bought my last 3 appliances from Barto and Im very satisfied. Always on point. They stand behind their products and they will do what is right to keep your business. The box stores cant do it when it comes to price and service.
After having a truly terrible experience at a competitor, Barto was amazing! They made appropriate recommendations and even did FaceTime so I could see the product I was buying and feel comfortable about my purchase even though I didn’t have time to see it in person. Delivery was fast and convenient. They ensured everything worked prior to leaving. All pricing was up front and cheaper than the previous company that I had been working with. Outstanding customer service and so far, I am extremely happy with the product!
To small for a full size 53 foot trailer and sleeper cab, took them nearly 3 hours to unload 12 units, the male employee was nice but the female was rude.
When no big box stores had/could deliver the washer I wanted, I searched and found Bartos. Within 15 minutes of arriving, my washer was purchased and delivery scheduled. The delivery crew was excellent, too! Next time I need a new appliance, I will go to Bartos first!
Bought a new oven the didn’t work properly. They sent a service man (Male Asian) to “fix” the issue but he was convinced it was a user error (my fault). Even when I replicated the issue he was very rude and disrespectful. I won’t purchase another appliance from Barto because of the poor customer service from this repairman.

Worst place to buy appliances. Bought a stove here and it stopped working within a couple of weeks. When we called about it, they brushed us off and said to find a repairman ourselves. After dealing with different repair people for TWO months and it still not working, we called Bartos again. They said we could bring the stove in to swap for a comparable model. WE loaded the heavy stove into our car and toted it up to Bartos only to be told AFTER we got there that there were no stoves of comparable value - even though they had the EXACT stove we had purchased, but now marked up $250 more than what we paid originally. They refused to give us a refund or offer any other kind of assistance. Worst costumer service. Worst products. DO NOT BUY HERE.
My fridge went out and I needed a replacement ASAP. I checked Lowes, Home Depot, A-1, etc... and all had delivery dates multiple weeks out. I ended up calling Barto about 20 minutes before they closed for the day. The salesperson kept the store open for 30 minutes beyond their regular hours so we could browse and make a selection in order to get next day delivery. Delivery and installation were smooth and the fridge is working great so far. Seems like a great alternative to the big box stores.
Went to Barto Appliance In Metairie In September. Purchase A Side By Side Refrigerator. When deliver Two parts was missing . My kick plate & Gallon Tray. I’ve have went there and call several times. About these items. Every time I spoke to Mrs Terry was told they order them. Been getting the run around for 2 months. Still haven’t receive my parts. Spoke to her today still saying it has been order. Almost 3 months still haven’t receive my parts. This is so unprofessional with this company. I was told this morning the company isn’t sending out the parts. So now they putting it on . The Manufacturing Company. It was easy taking your money but hard to get your parts.I will never deal with Barto Appliances In Metairie. Will advice Family& Friends Not To Go.

I am in a wheelchair there isnt a wheelchair ramp. When my wife asked how could we get in is there a ramp for wheelchair s they looked at her and sad no turned ther heads. I went back to best buy and was treateded with royalty.
We purchased $1800 dollar washer/dryer last week. Second day of use we had a part fall out. Barto just said for us to call Electrolux warranty. After TWO DAYS? Really? Now the dryer is acting up. I will be at their business first thing Monday. Horrible service.

I purchased Frigidaire Gas Dryer (model FFRG4120SW) on 5/6/20. I smelled natural gas on the heavy duty cycle. Last week gas was leaking on every cycle- verified with gas detector monitor. FIRE HAZARD! Called for warranty service. Waited a week. Technician came out 6/18/20 to verify problem.Now I have to wait for gas valve and igniter to be ordered. Seller do not offer any help on this defective dryer and Im without a dryer that cost $840! DO NOT PURCHASE.
SHADY--UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP--AVOID AT ALL COSTS!I had been buying from Barto as a loyal customer for the last decade and proudly appreciated them as a local business. It was a partnership that I could trust. NO LONGER. The new owner, Brett, no longer stands behind his product. They brought me a dryer that had problems from the beginning. When their technician installed in improperly causing it to malfunction and break (he did not bother to screw the cord on properly), Brett adding insult to injury, said that the best he could do for me was sell me a new one at a price that was $100 more than the one I had purchased. He said the problem was my electrical system even though I paid an electrician to come out and test and certify that there was nothing wrong with my outlet or my circuit. SOL! Why favor a local business if they dont know the meaning of the words loyalty or responsibility? Mr. Barto, the previous owner, would not have done the same. I can no longer use or recommend this business though I have given them several opportunities to do right, and it now seems I must take them to court. If you want to avoid similar experiences, buy shop elsewhere.

This is the first time I am writing a review within seconds of talking with someone at a store.I was shopping around for a price trying to figure out I wanted to do with purchase: a used fridge, new one, or discounted one at Home Depot, Lowe’s, Barto, and a used store (May 2, 2019).I went to three spots and called them (Barto). I specifically asked about the inexpensive one white and stainless steel: $549 and $599, respectively, plus $89 for delivery. When the salesperson figured I was “shopping” around, he hung immediately.I don’t think the line was disconnected because it sounded like it was purposefully hung up on. Not sure if “shopping” around constitutes for a hang up so hopefully this is a fluke. But the slight tinge of annoyance of his voice within a 60 second conversation is rather perplexing and sad.If the manager ever wants to reach out, let me know. I’ve run my business for 3 years and can point out why Louisiana ranks #50 for job opportunities, healthcare, education, etc. This salesperson epitomizes why we are #50.

We own a small hotel and restaurant in New Orleans and weve purchased many appliances from Barto over 10 years or so. They consistently offer a fair price, great knowledge about the products and make sure service to the machines are taken care of. No worries. Joe, Frank and Tony are very professional and Id rather give the business to a local store than a chain any day.
I went in to shop for new appliances during the Black Friday sale. I was told I could go into the warehouse and begin looking and someone would be out to help me. The warehouse manager (Jeff) offered to help - he was the most helpful and very knowledgeable. After about 20-30 min, the salesman came out and offered to write me a quote on the 4 appliances I was interested in purchasing and to give me the details concerning the sale. Just as he was finishing the 2nd quote and explaining the pricing - we got off subject a bit discussing the sales tax. The woman (Mrs. Barto) sitting in her office behind me said that is enough talking -there is another customer in the warehouse waiting to be helped The salesman assured her he was in the process of printing the 2nd quote and the other customer was there just to take measurements. I was shocked and appalled, after all, wasnt I also a customer. I didnt realize there was a time limit. What if I had more questions? She was very rude and unprofessional. I felt bad for the salesman. Needless to say, I vote with my hard-earned dollars and I will not be spending them at a store that does not value my business.

Preferring to purchase from a local business, I called Barto Appliance to see if they had a refrigerator that would work for my very specific instalation and budget and was told that they had something that would work. We arrive there and are immediately shown something that is five times over our budget. Sorry I tried to keep the money in our local economy. Shot over to Lowes and got what we needed.

I was ready to give them a five star review when I left their store, but then:We were convinced of a great deal on a fridge which according to the sales person included a rebate of $100. Sounds great - - the sales person promised to give me the info later. --- more on this story later.... still thinking 5 stars... We purchased $7K in three items.The check cleared the bank and no call from Barto to schedule delivery. I called them and they said they could not schedule delivery because the check does not look cleared in their systems. Hmmm. I had to send more information about the source of my check to them. 3 days later after I called and sent them the additional information about the check I gave them, which already cleared the bank 5 business days, they schedule delivery. Ok, just a mishap -- 5 stars still.Delivery was perfect. We unpacked everything but noticed one of the items (a stand-alone icemaker) looked yellowish inside, the hoses had plumbers tape. We called to inform our sales person - - the response: oh we test the equipment before its delivered. This was the only item delivered without a vendors box. We asked for a swap because there was hard-water stains in the unit. We had to drive the icemaker to the store, our sales person was not there in spite of agreeing to be there at the time and date we committed. The warehouse manager said they gave us a display model. And that they dont test equipment before it leaves their stores. Lets subtract a star, we are on 4 stars now.While dealing with the icemaker issue, I also reminded our sales person that we did not receive the rebate information as we requested. The sales person was supposed to meet us there with the information when we drove to return the icemaker: no sales person, no rebate information. Maybe she forgot....ok, lets call and send emails to remind the sales person. No call back. Lets subtract another star, we are on 3 stars.I sent 6 emails from May until June 2019. No replies or phone call. I called about 6 times as well, left voicemails for the sales person, left messages with whomever answered the phone. Only once the sales person called to say first that I missed the date and it was my fault. Then said there may be another rebate coming up and will let me know, sale dates dont matter. Lets subtract another star, we are on 2 stars.I kept calling, asked for the sales persons manager. Left voicemails, and asked when anyone answered. Not there, no call back. Its now mid June and no rebate. Its $100, it matters to me, I trusted the knowledge of the sales person, but their honesty went out the window compounded by all these other issues, and their lack of response to my inquiries, from bottom to top. Let me subtract more stars...the only good thing I can say - - it was a relatively good price and the delivery guys were excellent.Check them, but be careful with what they say. Get all your rebates before you leave the store. I checked their website and there was no sign of rebates for my items. I checked the vendors website and there are some rebates, only one was good in my case because of the place I work and like anything, who knows if they will decline it. $100 is a nice amount to buy groceries for my family, or medicine, or share a meal with friends. Give me what you promised and dont invent excuses. We are adults and its not necessary to lie. The sales person wears a cross around the neck, very visible: Good luck, God bless you and I wish you success in your career. And dont worry, I am not calling or emailing again.

I had a bad experience with trying to get a refund on a refrigerator I purchased on layaway. It was on layaway for 31 days. I paid the balance off after being in layaway for 20 days. The refrigerator never left the store because I no longer needed one and so I requested a refund. I was told at first no refunds were given only store credits. I couldnt understand why. Once I questioned them regarding this, the manager agreed to refund me $1201 minus a 25% restocking fee when the refrigerator never left the warehouse. Thats ridiculous. So you gonna charge me $300 to restock an appliance that never left the warehouse but if I had taken it out the store and returned it you would only charge me 15%. This absolutely makes no sense what so ever. Well the lesson learned in this experience is to never deal with Bartos Appliances and follow your first mind. Home depot, Lowes and Sams refund policies and customer service tops all. Customers be very aware!!!!

Installers fleeced us of additional money. Machine has broken down several times over the past couple of years and the warranty they sell doesnt cover all repairs or replacement - only up to a certain amount. This was not explained to us at all when we bought this machine. Basically were told the warranty is out of funds because repairs have cost so much and now after a very recent purchase we are stuck with a dishwasher that doesnt work and no options to replace it. How do the people working here sleep at night...

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FALSE ADVERTISEMENT....after spending over an hour with a sales person having them convince my husband to purchase an air condition unit, he gets to the register and the price comes up $100 more than the price on the ticket on the floor that he agreed to buy it for. When the sales person asked the owner, Mrs. Barto about it, she said she was not going to lose money on the sale and would not honor the price on the ticket because someone forgot to change it from Black Friday and it was now late February. We asked to speak with her and she would not come out of her office...my husband waited outside her office for 20 minutes and she was too chicken to come out to discuss it face to face with him. .We called Monday, thinking maybe she was having an off day because we all know that legally and morally she should have honored the price after wasting over an hour of our time and also her sales persons time....but nope. The man answering the phone said she was sticking with her decision to not lose money over this and would not even call or talk to me to discuss this situation. Professional Customer Service at it best, right?? The funny thing is that on their website, they pride themselves on great customer service and satisfaction!! haha Just know that if you come here, you had better have the salesperson check the price in the computer and make sure some goofball didnt forget to change it from 1980 before you waste your precious time seriously considering a purchase. I wouldnt own a product from this Mickey Mouse store if they gave it to me. Not sure how they are still in business with these false advertisement, unfair, rude customer service skills.
