The remodel of the store is great! Im go there often. Its always clean and stocked. The floor employees are always knowledgeable. The cashiers are kind. And the management are no-nonsense! They seems to have total control!!!π€©
Store on Severn open after Hurricane Ida! Deli is also up and running offering pick up food items! Great meat department, clean and helpful employees!
Love this place. Family owned and operated and their customer service is bar-none the best. Im totally going to start shopping here more often for all of my fresh, local needs.
DISCLAIMER: I cooked this!!Customer service could be better. Initially, I thought it was the younger associates; but it seems to be a problem amongst most of the workers, besides POC. Clarification: POC actually ask if you need help and/or speak. Any who, store products are good and this is a meal I made from the aforementioned. Iβve been a patron 5+ years now, especially when I donβt want to drive the extra 2 minutes to Rouses. In any event, acting like youβre βso hard at workβ stocking cans when a paying customer needs help, is actually counterproductive for business. Hmm. Parking is great! Small grocery store with most of what you need!!! Wine came from Total Wine on Vetsπ·
Bought some colorful veggies today.Beautiful!
Easy shopping..Great steaks and deli
The store is always clean and the staff super helpful. Great meat selection!
I visited this store at night best time to make groceries no long lines basically it was only me a couple of other shoppers a few workers great experience it was my first time at this location git the sale items and then some clean and neat will return
Shop local! Not only are they a locally owned grocery store but it appears that they also try and stock a lot of locally made products. Small store relatively speaking but they have a good selection for their size and brands I have never seen before. Only reason they arent a 5 star is produce selection is small and not much in the way of in house prepared ready to eat foods.
Great place to shop and not a ton of people
I love Breaux Mart especially for when you need something quick. The store is smaller than most which makes it very efficient. Being smaller would lead you to believe that selection lacks but I cant recall a time that I couldnt find what I went in for. The deli section in the back while functional was small and odd. On my most recent visit I noticed that they are finishing up a new deli which is huge compared to the old one.
Groceries fresh. Meat department was awesome
I had an issue with Breaux Mart on Severn. I work near by and shop there regularly. On average, twice a month I stop by to get change. Never had a problem. I have been told before that I can only get a certain amount but never told No. My assistant manager (who happens to be black) has gone twice this year to get change and is told No by manager (same manager each time). That is after an employee said it is ok. He was told no today. I called and asked if I could come get change, not telling them we work together. I was told I can come get change. I got upset and told them what happened to my co worker. I was thrown on hold without notice and the manager explains to me that he has to pay for the change so I cant get change from there and need to go to the bank. When I asked why it is OK for me and not him, he said they can do it but not a lot. I asked why didnt you give him the option to get a little change, he told me I needed to go to a bank and they arent a bank. I will certainly do that and get my groceries elsewhere. This seems suspicious that I get different treatment than my African American co worker. I contacted corporate and waiting for a calling back.My Co worker went to Rouses... They gave what they could without problem.Update. Got in touch with corporate and was told there was a coin shortage and thats the reason my employee wasnt given change. Corporate told me they are not a bank and have to pay brinks for change delivery and there is a coin shortage (there isnt... I was told to Google it by corporate). At the end of it, I still cannot get an answer. Why when I called, I was told that I could make change but when I send someone to get change (less than $200) who happens to be black, all of a sudden there is a problem and a coin shortage. For head of customer relations who told me to Google it here you go
I live in the neighborhood and love the fact that this store is close by, never crazy busy and offers a decent assortment of foods. However, the staff are never very friendly. They all appear to be young college kids who dont know how to greet customers or even look at them while theyre in the check out lane. They also have zero idea of how to efficiently bag items. Every time I come to this store, no matter who checks me out, they insist on only putting one or two items in each bag. This is so wasteful and I dont have enough arms to carry all of these bags!! Even when I bring reusable bags they still put items in the plastic bags. Clearly they are not aware of the purpose of these bags. Please educate your staff!!!! This is getting to the point where I no longer want to shop here because it is so frustrating.
A great local store full of all the essential food needs even a few non-food things as well. The people there are always really friendly and the lines move really quickly even during the busier times. If youre looking for someplace more local to support its not the smallest local chains but its still one of the better ones.
Friendly staff, Very clean, and really fresh produce.
Good spot to grab quick groceries. Local
One of my favorite local grocery stores. NOT chain like and have great Louisiana and NOLA products.
Great pricing on organic bananas. I could.Writer that story....
This little store is great. It has just about everything that I need and is much easier and faster to shop. They remodeled a few years back and it has made the store brighter and fresher. Several of the cashiers are so sweet and nice. Its like a small town grocery store. Prices are very fair.
Great service and products! You can always catch a great meat sale here and their deli hot foods are the best. My favorites are the roast, fried fish, peas and loaded mashed potatoes. Also this is the only grocery store I can find sweet grapes year around!!
Very organized found what i was looking for and the prices are good..!!
Today I walked into the store with another guy and the security guards gave us questionable looks. I wouldnt think anything of it except when my friend and I were leaving I was waiting outside with my basket. One of security guards told me I wasnt allowed to bring the basket outside of the store. When I tried to explain why I had it he told me I dont care but I need that basket. As he watched me put the groceries, that I just paid for, on the concrete; he snickered and grabbed the basket. Maybe Im overreacting and if I am please tell me, but that was outrageous and I dont plan on going back to that location again.
Love this store not only is it a locally owned and operated business but it has good prices and great food everyday!
Everything was great but when I checked out the told me to put the items in my basket onto the counter instead of the whole basket...then she told me to put the basket back. I have no problems with that ofc but curious to know if thatβs normal for this storeβs employees to do. Overall I had a great time shopping there and Iβd shop there again
Kind of pricey but it convenient. The people seem nice
Breaux Mart has, quite possibly, the best natural / organic selection to be found in the city outside of Whole Foods. π―
Fast and friendly service! Always reliable
I purchased fried fish & mac & cheese! Fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Cashier was very pleasant! Thanks!!
Breaux Mart is always good, kinda like the neighborhood store of our parents time, everybody knew everyone else, they all shopped at the same place, the butcher knew which family liked what cut, and then some.
Prices are great and the cashiers are kind efficient and awsome
Great store. Wish the one on the Westbank had not closed.
Great selection and prices. Way better than going to Walmart.
To expensive also very clean
Decided to try this store out before an apt I had in the area. Got some sweet potatoes.. cooked them the same night they were bought. They were rotten. Will never shop here again.
Great customer service and great employees
Disappointed. Drove all the way over to get certain items they advertised in the paper ad sales only to find out supposedly it was an error. Not only I feel that they should have honored the error in some way. I was told sorry they couldnt. Traffic was bad. Açces to store horrible ! Severen was having major Street repairs. Terrible experience. Waste of my time and gas. Never again.
I have shopped at this location for 27 years. Over the past few years, I have noticed that the selection of products has changed, and not in a good way. The cashiers are rude and arrogant ! Dont take this the wrong way, but the only halfway decent cashiers are young white men. I have always presented myself with an upbeat attitude, and still get the cold shoulder. Many products have been expired for various amounts of time. I think that they will miss the approximately $800.00 per month, that I spent at Breaux Mart. I am going to Rouses from now on. Sorry guys.
Its pretty convenient since its so close to my house the prices are decent and they usually have everything that they sell in stock thats one of the priorities for me the fact that they always have what theyre supposed to have
You can change everything around so many times. Ive been coming to your store for years. Something has changed with owners or upper management. It is trickling down and comes across through the employees who are front and center. Cashiers being on the phone while checking someone out is unacceptable. Ive only seen one or two people who have been there for a while and they have changed. Way to much boh talk in foh. The employees do not complement the beautiful remodel. Instead of being warm and welcoming.... It is cold.
Very good today. All employees had mask on. Very good stock.
Treated well in all aspects of the business.Employees are doing an excellent job maintaining during the current virus panic. Mr Rob answered every question as hord of folks swarmed on him. Excellent job
Its convenient & not overwhelming. They have everything I need plus theyre local!π
Great small grocery, reasonably priced produce, good sales, good selection, Deli bakery alcohol/beer/wine selection, Small prepackaged fresh meals Perfect for 1 person or a couple $7-$10, fresh but small $10 king cakes but ONLY tiny king cakes but theyre freshly made different flavors Great amount of parking Right across from Lakeside Very friendly nice folks
Usually very good
Such a nice, clean store! I never shopped there because there are other stores that are more convenient for me (closer) but they were advertising some bargains so I checked them out. I was very impressed. Much more modern inside than I expected. I would recommend them to anyone.
It is a good small neighborhood supermarket and very convenient for myself living on severn. The only complaint I have are there prices are to high
Never had a bad experience here! Smaller store so smaller selection, but that is the only downside. The cashiers are all sweet, and I have never left there disappointed. Great place for personal shopping.
This Breaux Mart is great. Has Variety!
Since the new manager took over service is awesome
It is not getting any better. This was my always go to store.Managers could care less if you have a bad experience EVERY TIME you shop there. Cashiers are RUDE THEY NEVER SPEAK AND LOOK VERY HAPPY YOU SOON WILL BE LEAVING. Just spoke to Joe suppose to be the manager. He listened to me and all he said good day and hung up. They are not listing and frankly donβt care . I would love to speak with the owner and see if he approves of the way his employees are treating customers.
A friendly place to shop
Great store. In and out quick.
This locally owned supermarket has been an icon in the area for more than 30 or 40 years. And to this day its still offers great prices and an array of products that you will not find in any of the other stores. Its becoming more and more important to patronize smaller businesses if we want more choices and options. Recently the store has undergone renovation and looks a lot more modern.
Clean and well stocked, early and not crowded perfect for me, keeping employees safe with mask and shield by check out. Thanks
Service is excellent, great selection of foods and beers, easy in and out
Good grocery store but meat isnβt all that good and the spanish women cutting the meat doesnβt speak English, is rude, and I told her to cut it thin but it was thick like my toe nail very rude women
First place I ever had a check cashing card in the 1970s. Newly refurbished store and parking lot. Produce decent. Meat selection seems expensive to me. There is a butcher on site usually. Decent seafood. Still. This is for staples and is my neighborhood store. Many other locations. Ive not been to.
They have exactly what I need most of the time! I am stuck sometimes deciding between Breaux Mart and the Whole Foods store thats only a block away!
Staff is really friendly and the store is well organized and very clean. Great wine and cheese selection. Also, their weekly sale ad is always great.
Relatively small store with a good variety of products. But the bakery department is a definite weakness. Almost no selection available. Their french bread is very soft and lacks that crunch that typical New Orleans french bread has. Store very clean and staff friendly.
Local grocery that made big improvements to the appearance recently (02/2017). Their hot food is generally very good in the deli; service starts at 1100CT and is best then. Quality goes down over the day as the food sits in the warmers.
Outstanding Variety and Value. Friendly and Prompt Service at Checkout. Never Disappoints.
Love shopping at the New Breaux Mart ! Everything is always so clean and the isles are easy to pass through. The prices are good and shelves are well stocked. The new parking lot makes parking a breeze! It has become my favorite store π
Neat,clean and well stocked.
Frozen food was a pain. I grabbed one pizza all fell towards me. I caught most of them. I pulled out another frozen food item and the box was open. Those kids all sweet but should have some tips on bagging groceries. Thats why only 3 stars
Honest-to-goodness local grocer, with overall good prices and a decent selection. Maybe not the best when it comes to specialty or hard-to-find items, but fantastic if you just want make groceries without wasting money.
Breaux Mart on Severn is a great place to shop. They are big enough to have a big store selection but not so big you wind up parking a mile from the entrance. They recently reconfigured the parking lot which was a pain for a while but does seem to have improved parking.
My only disappointment was that they no longer have my Brier Rabbit syrup. Please get it back again...
Had a delightful shopping day at Breaux Mart last week. The store was just so accommodating to our needs. We will be back.
Clean store. Friendly staff. Great variety at the deli counter. Prices on most groceries are high though.
Easy shopping experience. Reasonable prices, well stocked, and helpful employees.
Bad customer service..... Bought several expired items by accident. The shelves are full of expired meat and dry goods. Once bought chilli paste that had been opened. Not seal broken, I mean opened and used. Horrible grocery.
Friendly as always and competitive prices. But I really like the Deli Department!
Nice store go there almost every day easy to find what ever Im looking for nice people working there
I always find great deals. The service is always fast and friendly.
Nice mid size store with good selection of items, deli, and a package store(liquor) aswell.
Good customer service throughout the store
A good little neighborhood store. I enjoy going there because its never crowded and I can get in and out quickly.
Fun place, staff and crew are very nice and friendly and professional. Taken one point away. Had to wait a little while to get check in. But was pre- warned.
How is ever think going with this mart I use to shop a longtime ago, everything is still good you can fine the things you need at this mart fine things and now one to get in the way to stop you from fine and chat out .
Very good prices compared to stores near my area
Rather pricey with a limited selection of regular items. They do, though, have some nice specialty items. I stopped here because I was in the neighborhood.
Love that its local owners and we can always find what we need for a good price
Fast shopping. I found the advertised item that I was looking for. Courteous staff.
I live a few blocks from this location, and initially I was happy to be living so close to a grocery store, but after coming here on two separate occasions, Ive been disappointed each time.-NO NEWSPAPERS! What grocery store has NO NEWSPAPERS??? They dont sell them inside, and the bin outside is never filled!-They DO NOT take internet coupons. Their policy is that they do, but their registers dont recognize them.-Ridiculous prices! I would get over the WALMART-level of service if they were at least cheap, but their SALE prices make their items the REGULAR price at other grocery chains.-Hours are a joke! Whole Foods at least stays open till 10pm. Joke Mart is closed well before then on the week days.Essentially this is an overgrown convenience store (a la Circle K) thats anything, but convenient. (So if youre looking for soda, cheap booze, and lottery tickets, then this is your place.)I will GLADLY walk the extra block and half to go to Whole Foods where the prices are the same,
Great shopping experience and good prices but the cashier was not a happy camper
The store has a good selection of items, including produce, but the prices tend to be higher than those inother local grocery stores.
Gina the GM and Greg the butcher are GREAT peopleFriendly storeππββοΈ
My mom has been shopping here for over 25 years . I also shop there now and then . She is very upset about the continual moving of the stock on the shelves . There are a lot of elderly people shopping there and I have heard many times customers complaining about not being able to find the items they are looking for I also am tired of walking up and down the aisles to find items . The store font and parking lot is very nice since the remodel but you will be losing customers if you cant decide where to place the stock and keep it there. The only time I saw the store crowded was last month when they were running a Specila Ad .
It wasnt packed with people early in the morning which was very nice. Had everything i needed .
My wife LOVES their Almond Wedding Cake petits fours! Out of all the food I could bring back from New Orleans, this is what she wants the most.
Customer service was contacted and ask to hold an item. Wasnt done...then was sent to wrong aisle for product. Time was of the essence...and it was wasted...
Excellent place, quality throughout.
Great grocery where you can run in and out!
Horrible disrespectful service from ms Jennifer!!!
Store was very clean, prices were fairly good, service was good.
They had what I was looking for an all was helpful
