They have coworkers that are very rude. I had an elderly family member with me she needed to use the restroom. I ask if my family could use the restroom they told me to ask one of the cashiers. The cashiers that were there were extremely rude and laughed. They said no restrooms. I understand it’s Covid situation. Finally the manger understood. You can’t ask for pricing because they get upset. Honestly Ideal Market you guys need a better staffing. Please have cleaner bathroom. No good customer service and they’re always on their phones. To the owner please check your bussiness because that’s how you going to lose customers.
Great place. Great service. Excellent choices of produce and meats.
Very fresh produce. Awesome pastries.
Spectacular hot food. Have to get some each visit to the Big Easy! Havent had anything yet that wasnt great! Their fries rice is only available on Fridays., fyi.
Great service thanks
Ordered a mondongo soup from here and the first piece I pull out had an eye lash and threw that peace out and continued eating just to choke on a piece of plastic cap from a seasoning bottle, food was good but need to be extra careful if I would swallowed the cap I wouldnt been able to number two that out do to its size.
Love the hot food bar! Stopped in for $1 taco Tuesday. Got a small beans and rice plus a slice of tres leches king cake - wonderful! Fed the fam 2 meals for just over $20!
Marginal quality prepared food and baked goods. Store is really nice filled with ethnic products. So full that it gets hard to navigate with a shopping cart. Bakery items look better than they taste, and so does the large selection of prepared foods. Produce quality is acceptable. Very convinient however quality is not there.
The freshest produce way cheaper than Rouses. Hot meals for lunch or by the pound to bring home for a great, easy mid week meal for the family. You can gain weight just from passing the Bakery, plus fresh baked rolls all day.
Amazing bakery. Happy employees. And a legit store for incredible Groceries and drinks. Unique. Original. Well priced and fun to shop. I could go on, but you should just go!
By far the best latino supermarket in the area. They have a huge selection of products, from homemade desserts to cooked food to fruits and veggies. The place is clean and staff is always very helpful. I come here regularly and always leave with a good impression.
I love to shop at this market! The lunch counter is amazing. Always a huge variety of latin dishes. Portions are huge! I often buy extra lunch plates to reheat for family dinners later in the week. The produce section is a delightful burst of colors offering a more exotic selection than many other stores.
I love it. They have great fresh organic produce and the prices are low and affordable. They also have freshly cut seafood, tilapia fish, beef and beef products and chicken. They also have already marinated chicken so all you have to do is buy it and take it home to cook in whatever way you want. There is a section for cooked meals and rotisserie chicken and beef. The rotisserie chicken is delicious. Overall, it is a Latino market but boy I keep going back for more.
Great place. Has all the things you need to create your traditional Latin plate. You can also go here to buy a fresh hot and delicious plate of food. Variety of options to please you to till the last bite.
An absolutely amazing local grocery. Buy the tres leches cake. Trust me youll want the whole cake and not just a slice!
One of the Best Ideal supermarkets Ive been to thus far. It is very clean! the hot food here is awesome. Desserts are a must try. You get pretty good deals in the meat department too!
I really LOVE this market. Layout is beautiful and clean. They have a wide variety of fresh produce, ready made, and packaged foods at reasonable prices. The tres leches cakes are divine, by the way. Because I am so fond of the store, itself, I would give it 5 stars. However, the hired help is usually very off-putting if they think you dont understand Spanish. Not all of them, but enough to leave a sour feeling. Too bad. Nice store.
Fantastic deals! Its like crossing over the Mexican border in search of bargains. They rule on vegetables and fruits such as avocados and ripe bananas, which is the only reason I go there. The cashiers are super sweet and very friendly to white man.
It was really good. I had the beef fajitas and my daughter had the shredded beef. Hers was better. We loved the tortillas and beans. Everything was fresh.
I’m very disappointed in my experience with ideal. I’m an avid shopper and I’m always for supporting local businesses. I went in on Monday, the 29th, and bought some things, including mouth wash, and realized this morning, 31st, that it expired in 2017. I didn’t have my receipt but had my card statement stating what I bought and the date it was bought. I went in and the employees were so helpful but as I proceeded to talk to the assistant manger, he told me he couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t the manager. I told him to call the manager because I wasn’t coming back. If something is expired then the product is NO good. I shouldn’t have to explain myself over and over again why I want a refund because the store had products dating back to 2017.I’m so disappointed in this store and will be telling my friends and family about my experience.
I have splurged a lot of money in just a few months going to buy food at the Ideal Market deli. I literally had to stop. The food is worth any restaurant trip you can make. For about $10, you have an awesome tasting Mexican inspired meal, and you still have enough for dinner, and maybe breakfast. Love the interior vibe of this place. This place helped convince me that living in New Orleans can actually be fun.
This place has become my favorite grocery in the area. The produce section is brilliantly colored and expertly organized. The prices are fair, the staff is friendly and most everyone is bilingual. (Spanish and English) The signs are in both English and Spanish.Check out their grill area as they have some delicious treasures there.
Relieved I found this place. Their produce is amazing and the selection is great if you are looking for soecific items not usually sold at grocery stores. For most general stuff though, another store is probably cheaper.
I hate that you need an ID to pay with your credit card 🤨 also the staff mostly the cashiers are really rude. Instead of feeling like you are welcome you wish you didnt go there at all. Managers should really work on teaching their staff good morals and make customers feel appreciated. La neta
It is ALWAYS a treat to visit Ideal grocery store, especially with the family. We spend so much money on specialty items you cant find anywhere but here! Plus, everyone is so kind and helpful m
Really good tres leches cakes. Great produce and meat sections. All the workers speak to you in Spanish. Some of them appear to not speak any English. Pretty cool. Reasonable prices, too.
Biggest Spanish grocery, Multiple locations all have great parking My fav Airline at Clearview, but Metairie has Hessmer/by Fat City, plus Broad/Banks All have Hot Bar, by the pound everything made fresh daily, excellent quac/salsa on fresh prepared prepackaged area, bakery always great Wonderful selection of produce, We find West Indian potatoes, fruits, veggies we cant find at any other grocery store, perfect
This grocery store is a one stop shop for Latino food. You will feel like you stepped into a Spanish speaking country from the moment you walk through the doors, and the default language of the employees is spanish, although they speak English too. There is a bakery, butcher, and a place that grills meat and serves food (although theres only places to eat outside).
When you first walk in, the smell of food cooking and bread baking will make you drool so dont go shopping if your hungry. The store is very clean, the employees are very friendly. They have a large selection of raw and marinated meats and chicken. The bakery has a large variety of Latin pastries and breads. The prices seem to have gone up since they opened and even though they have a large selection of fruit, its very high in price. Overall its a good place to shop for all your Latin needs.
Great selection of Latin American prepared foods, groceries, meats and produce. The hot lunches are delicious and the portions are large. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Good food. Cant seem to get tortillas every single time I get a plate of food though. One lady that makes the plates seems a little rude every time I get a plate from her. Rolling her eyes and sighing. All the other people are polite and as I said, the food is good.
Nice friendly environment. Affordable and different from the typical supermarket. You can find food such as craklin and enchiladas. And food eaten south of the border.
Great staff who are very helpful and a nice selection of products. I like the selection of foods on the hot line. There is always something tasty to be had.
I love the roasted chickens. I go by Ideal at least 2 times a week. I wish they would clean up the outside area better. Trash everywhere and very dirty! I tell strangers how much I like this store but, its a hard sell when you drive up and it looks like little Mexico. Clean it up. Thanks I love the produce fresh meat great store just clean it up outside looks terrible.
Great atmosphere and a great selection of tropical fruit and Latin American products. The pastry counter is fantastic and the hot food counter is a great place to eat authentic Central American food.
I come here for the Iron Beer and Ive never had a problem. This place is good and very colorful at night!
Food was great, they have a great selection in the supermarket. One can immediately tell that the employees working there despise their jobs, and frankly just hate being there. They are rude and impolite at best.If you feel like having great food and being ill treated, this is the place for you.
Awesome selection of food for various Latino cuisines, tons of things you cant get in any other grocery store. Its a bit cramped, but that just makes it feel homey.
This was my second time in here and it was definitely time to try the hot food. You can smell it over a block away which is how i knew lunch was going to be latin american today. Right as u enter you see the pastries/dessert section and oh how amazing they look. If your in the area you should not miss stopping here.
The beef and grilled pepper s yum!!!! But the cleanliness and orderliness is. Pleasing during my visit.very impressive.
Music quite loud, not a bad thing, but I dont speak Spanish and its hard to enjoy loud music when its in a different language. The store itself is cool cuz they have items that you can not find anywhere else.
Clean, great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. The meat department has a fantastic selection and nothing compares with the hot foods they serve up. You MUST try their carne asada! Very friendly staff who are very patient with this non Spanish speaking gringo! There is now one in Fat City too!
Likely the widest and freshest assortment of produce in the area. But the prices on basic goods are out of sight. For example, I saw Ramen noodles priced at twice what they sell for at other local markets. These people need some serious competition.
It was great at opening, but the prices have soared since then. The cost of fruit is outrageous. The pastries are still reasonable, though.
Great Hispanic supermarket. It has a lot of variety of products, like tortillas, coconut water, piñatas, chargers for iphone and android, spices, meats and fish, cakes, cookies, alcohol beverages, fruits and various other products. You can find products that arent in other places or stores. Its recommended to go buy anything in food consumption you need.
Half of the veggies are not fresh. Not impressive. Ok for last minute shopping. Less crowded and almost no line. Quick shopping possible. Cakes look good. Didnt taste.
The food is good but the staff is always rude to their customers. It makes me want to take my business somewhere else. They don’t want to be discriminated against but then they go around discriminating against nonhispanics. I think the owner should look into their behavior and the way they treat people.
Amazing selection, great prices, they speak English and Spanish. Need to get the grass cut though. Everytime I go there I get attacked by bees. Please guys. Call the plant gallery. Get the landscaping done.
This store is incredible! Berween all the baked goods (pastries, cakes & more) and desserts (freshly made flan, 3 Milk cups, etc.) and the perfectly displayed fresh fruits and vegetables - not to mention the impressive selection of cheeses - it was difficult to decide what to choose to go with the marinated pork, seasoned and marinated chicken and beef we chose at the meat counter! Im excited, too, that I dont have to wait for someone to visit Mexico to get the best vanilla! Im re-work ing the budget to add them because Ill definitely be going back!
I have bought food from here multiple times but recently my experience has been ruin because I keep finding hair in my food. The cooks need hair nets.
Some of the staff seems unfriendly to non-Hispanics, especially in the hot food section. Theres a few who talk bad about gringos in Spanish. There was a woman working here for a long time making hot plates who spoke beautiful English and was an absolute pleasure. Now for the past 6 months its been stares and mean muggs! And hot food plates are only half to 3/4 filled! My Mexican buddy goes there and gets the same plate lunch that is twice my size if that is an indication of the atmosphere here. No more of my gringo business here! No mas!
Good selection but not too friendly. I suspect language and differences in culture plays a part.
The food selection is good, the produce is fresh, and everything is displayed is an artful, clean, proud way. If this werent so far away from my home this would be my #1 grocery store.
Hit or miss with the place. Sometimes theyre friendly, sometimes theyre not. Prices are about the same as any other store. Lines are always moving slow, store is usually packed w/customers. Interesting products & beers, though
Came here to try the bakery. My friend really likes ojo de buey and was excited to find it here. However, it was not good at all. I also bought a piñata here that I ended up not using. When I cam back to return, the manager first told me it had been more than a month (it had been only 3 weeks) and then that the policy was 7 days for non food items. I was not given any other explanation so I left with the piñata. Disappointed. Fyi if anyone is wondering a small piñata is 29.99. Better deals at other party stores.
The food is delicious and the people are friendly. Most employees cant understand english though so communication is not there. The food and groceries are quite a bit pricy. Expect to spend a substantial amount of money for just two hot dishes although the food is a large amount enough to feed two people. They do not have small portions or small prices on anything.
Crowded, dirty and people are rude. Also on the sketchy side. I went in for one thing, they no longer sell it. Nothing has a price on it or on the shelf, I think they may charge different prices to different people. Their desserts are good.
Friendly ppl, nice music, fresh organic produce. Nice selections and extensive deli section. The hot food sections has an area where u can see the food being cooked and they have a nice variety of selections for purchase for immediate consumption. The bakery has beautiful cakes that taste really good without the after-taste that some supermarket cakes have. They have a beautiful selection of full cakes half cakes and individual sized portions, tarts, crepes, stc....I would recommend this store to anyone looking to eat fresh fruit that still has seeds and has the smell fruit and produce should have, as opposed to all the GMO food we are being sold.
Was only there for a quick stop, from what I saw l will be taking a closer look. I am looking forward to going back. This is a Spanish market.
This an ethnic market. The hispanic backery and deli are wonderful. The fruit and vegetables are also great. The prices on other store items are high; it is a specialty market.
I love the great selection of vegetables they have at this location. The food they serve is great..and the prices are reasonable
Best place for different kinds of seasoning for meat veggies and fish also very good plate lunches.
The bakery is FABULOUS!!! Empanatas, Churros, fresh fruit on top of decadent cakes! Aloe Vera juice with coconut, or mango ect. Meat is hand cut/sliced. I go to this store now at least 2 times a week.
Good variety of latin foods. Tasty flan & rice pudding. And delicious fried plantons.
Great place for everything good food and they also cash checks lovely ladies a great personality
Well-organized. Quick service. Convenient location.
Absolutely love this market! The service is great and the bakery is to die for.
Ok place to buy lunch and better than franchise burger places. Also has many products on shelf supplying the mix cultural community of the city.
Good prices and lots of inventory on produce. Great bakery section for fresh goods!
In my opinion, Their chicken taste like nothing, it needs more seasoning.
One of the cleanest stores Ive been in. They take pride in what they do...
Really good food is the best place for Spanish food ideal supermarket sometimes a little pricey but its good
Lots of neat pastries and Latino deserts. Good food.
BEAUTIFUL STORE!!!! Well put together, clean, neat, and the music had me dancing my ass off in the aisles😂😂😂....I absolutely LOVED it!!!!
Great selection! Good food!
The produce section is vast and really stands out as fresh and organized.
My 40 year old friend was asked for an ID to buy cigarrettes, a white guy behind also bought cigarrettes. And the cashier did not asked him for id....why is that? My temporary cdl lisence got rejected by the cashier at the money transfer center. So I went to Wal-Mart. These places of so call La ideal have the worse service...prices are hight for everything. I got charged 19.75 for a basic plate of food which was not worthy...buy it the food is nasty.
Its Mexican but I love going in to buy sale items
You better know Spanish if you want to shop there
Love this store. Good food and meat is fresh
Great Latin grocery store with amazing offerings and even better prices.
The place is small and always packed. And they over charge on many items. I feel bad for the spanish people who dont know that theyre getting ripped off. They can easily go to rouses or Winn Dixie and save alot of money.
I go here for the best Pico de Gallo and Mexican cheeses. They have delicious postres and a grill here too.
Very good produce good bakery very fresh well stock the best
Great to buy your Central American/ Mexican needs but $$$
I love this place. They have the best Central American food. I would recommend especially grill chicken ( pollo asado) & coconut flan! Some employees are bilingues (English/Spanish).
Awesome food!! Great selection of groceries and its always clean
Excellent place to buy real mexican items y produce in Materie, Louisiana.
I go here to cheap affordable fresh fruit and veggies. You cant beat their prices and freshness.
Great fresh produce, delicious hot food counter, I love their raw marinated chicken and fajita meat, and their whole pollo asado is a tasty staple to keep in the fridge ($10). Yes, this is a Hispanic market but English-only people should not feel intimated. Everyone that works here can speak English, albeit in verying degrees. You will feel welcomed.
Love this store, great roasted chickens and we love the desserts.
Love natural fruits and carne asada and chicken.
Not enough employees speak english. It is hard to get help if u only speak English. And the cook chicken is over cook and dry.
Great carniceria (butcher) with plenty to choose from, fresh produce, and an excellent bakery.
Beautiful location and great Latin American beer and alcohol selection.
Great place for lunch - tasty and affordable Central American fare!
I love the carne asada the three milk cake and the people of there are wonderful
