I recently purchased a new Bernina sewing machine from Earlean Stalks. It was a wonderful experience. Earlean is incredibly knowledgable and set me up with the machine that was right for me. I told her what sewing I hoped to do on the machine and she easily guided me to the additional sewing feet I needed. Earlean instructed me on how to set up my sewing classes. Earlean is the best and I will recommend her to anyone who asks me. All Brands is so lucky to have her.
I went in wanting to update from a PE770. Mrs . Earline was so patient with me. She took all the time I needed to explain all the features of each machine I asked about. I walked out the store with a brand new Stellaire XJ1 I love it. It sews over thick seams so easy. The embroidery features are awesome! Thank you Mrs. Earline and Allbrands. You have a very happy customer here.
If I could give this store or more precisely this stores employees I would give it no stars. The employee was so rude to me - the store was locked in the middle of the day. She was not knowledgeable about the correct Covid Phase the area was in and when I questioned her why the door was locked she got belligerent. When she tried to take my temperature I told her never mind that I would go somewhere else -- SHE TOLD ME GOOD - DONT COME BACK. What kind of store allows their employees to drive off their customers. This was just todays experience. Yesterday I went and despite the posted store hours, and the lighted Open sign, they were closed. Last Saturday, they turned the lights out on me. I was gracious enough to give it another try. But now, I think I will take their advise and NOT GO BACK. Its a shame. I like the fabric. My first embroidery machine many years ago came from that store.
I love walking in this store. It is a very inviting atmosphere. Every thing is so neatly placed. Erlene is so knowledgeable about my needs.
Last year I went to AllBrands on Veterans in Metairie to purchase a new sewing machine. Thats when I met Earlean who showed me the machine I was interested in. She agreed it was a good purchase and a very good machine. Earlean was so patient with all the questions I asked. As well as demonstration on how the machine worked. I just recently went back this past Saturday. I was having an issue with the threading on my machine. Earlean didnt hesitate to let her look at the machine. Within a few minutes she showed me what I was doing wrong. Nothing was wrong with the machine it was user error, me. I so appreciated her patience, and while I was there, a sale was going on. I ended up purchasing about 6 different pieces of fabric. Before leaving Earlean gave me her card and told me to call her anytime if I had any issues. As well as since I lived on the Northshore she mentioned she goes to the Slidell store as well. I really hope Earleans boss and Allbrands appreciate Earleans kindness, patience and knowledge of their products. Earlean thanks again!!
This is the worst service I have ever had. I have a Brothers 1400E embroidery machine. I purched from Allbrands in Metairie, La.I recently had a problem with the machine. Paid $200.00 up front for the repairs. Got it back sewed one design and same thing happened. Took it back in and $200.00 up front again. Even though it was in the 90 day guarantee. Got it back weeks later and worse than ever. Couldnt sew one design. It is now back in the shop with Allbrands.
I purchased a Janome 2222 sewing machine from All Brands Metairie location this past April. I was super excited about my new machine. I was looking forward to finally learning how to sew, but when I got home and took the machine out the box, so that I could familiarize myself with the machine and its parts, I realized that there were missing parts. I called to inform Ms. Earlene that some parts was missing. I went back with the sewing machine and all parts that following Tuesday. Ms. Earlene called the owner to let him know that some of my parts was missing. He told her to give me the missing parts from the merchandise thats in stock. Ms. Earlene did exactly that; however, one of the parts wasnt in stock; therefore, the needed to order it. I havent gotten that part to this day. However, today was the first day of my sewing class and to my surprise the sewing machine isnt working. I called Ms. Earlene to let her know what was going on. She asked that I bring the machine in for 2:00pm. When I arrived at All Brands Ms. Earlene asked me again, whats going on with the machine? I had to call the person who was giving me lessons, because of course I dont know how to sew & I wouldnt have never be able to say what was going on with the machine. Ms. Earlene called the owner who initially said, I could get back my money, but there would be a 25% restocking fee. Then he said, I could not get my money, because there is a 30 days policy; however, I can send my machine to be serviced. I am highly UPSET that I have to send a machine that was supposed to be BRAND NEW to get serviced when I NEVER USED IT!!! ALL Brands is a ripe off. Please do not spend your money there

Over priced service/repair fees. I was told over the phone that the service tech could fix my machine, no problem. The part had nothing to do with the operation of my machine. The spool pin broke off. When I arrived at the store, I was told that they couldn’t do the repair only. They would be doing a complete service and repair for $218.00. Needless to say, I was shocked at the price! Even though my machine is 30 years old, it runs great! Over the years I’ve kept it clean and oiled. I told the lady that I wanted only the repair and she said that was not company policy. I said, absolutely not for that price and that I could buy a new machine for that price. I left with my machine in hand. Looked online for a place that sells parts, I ordered what I needed and I’ll have it delivered in 2-3 days. All for less than $20.UPDATE:June 4, 2920. Apparently, Mr John Douthat replied to my review stating that they also sell parts, including the part that I needed. Hmmmmm, that’s interesting, Mr John Douthat, your employee Never mentioned that I could buy the part that I needed. Maybe, you need to train your employees better so that they can actually be of “service” to the customer and not try to make a quick buck! $218. worth of bucks!!! No thank you! My review stands! Actually, I would have chosen 0 stars.
Thanks to the owner of AllBrands in Metairie for his reply to my review below, but please be advised, my temperature was NEVER taken either of the times I entered your store. There was a limited amount of people allowed in, and even as people were let out, I was not allowed in. It seemed that the reason for this was so your employee could wait on one customer, and visit with 2 friends. When I was allowed in, I was directed to fill out the machine service form. Your employee saw me outside with my machine and asked if I was just dropping it off. She could have given me the form to fill while I waited outside and just taken the machine, saving me a 40 minute wait in the heat. And I fail to see how the number of machines being repaired has anything to do with returning voice mails, or calling to notify a customer when their machine is ready. You obviously care about your business. Perhaps a seminar on customer service is warranted.I brought in my embroidery machine for servicing and was told it would take 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I called, during store hours, and left a voice mail, asking about my machine. I did not receive a return call but was lucky enough to reach a human a few days later. She took my name and number and promised to call with me an update on my machine. I never received a call, so I left another voice mail a week later. No return call. I showed up at the store on June 5th, the first day of phase 2, a month after handing over my machine and paying $200 to have it serviced. The Open sign was on, but the door was locked. This was at 11 a.m., an hour after the stores listed opening time. I could see 2 women in the store; one employee and one presumed customer. I knocked on the door and eventually the customer came and opened the door. I began to explain that I was looking for my machine that had been with them for over a month. The employee cut me off, asked for my claim ticket, went in the back and came back with my machine. I wont even describe the aggravation of waiting for 40 minutes outside the store to drop off my machine. I purchased my machine, and have had it serviced, at the AllBrands in Baton Rouge. That was pleasant experience. I will never return to this store in Metairie.
Having owned and operated a business for many years we became acutely aware of the importance of a valued employee. Today my wife and I had the pleasure of meeting one of your employees that stood out in our mind for her superb customer relation. The employees name is Earlean Stalks and if we were not retired and still in business, I might be tempted to hire her from you. We thank Allbrands for placing this employee in our presence for she was knowledgeable and supportive in helping us find a Brother sewing machine that had all of what we were looking for. I have had a wonderful experience at the AllBrands store in Metairie. Earline was so gracious and helpful and spent a lot of time with me on the phone working through items to help me select what Product would best suit my needs. I then followed up in the store with Sherry and had another amazing experience and have never been treated with such kindness and patience.both by phone and in store. I wish all stores that serve the public were modeled after this one - What a pleasure - I wish I could afford to buy one of everything - GREAT PEOPLE!!!!!
Earlean is the lady to see! She is super helpful and extremely knowledgeable. If you buy a machine from her she will personally teach you everything about it. You can come back anytime and she is always more than willing to help you.

The employees of this store are so professional and willing to help you. One lady went out of her way to share her pattern with me. Their ideas and creativity are boundless. I always enjoy going to the store as any of the ladies working will strike up a conversation with you and give you pointers to hone your crafts. They do get busy at times and you have to wait for that one one experience, but it is well worth it. I have called for a part; they get it ready; I run in and run out when time is short. Thank you to all the employees for a neighbor atmosphere in your store.
In this automated, non-personalized, computerized, google-oriented world we all live in, I discovered a gem of a company in Metairie, Louisiana. I had the pleasure of speaking to Sherrie Raby. Sherrie went out of her way to help me trouble shoot my sewing machine issue. She was so good, at some point I inquired if she was the owner or just a really good employee!!! It was the latter, a really good employee!
I bought a sewing/embroidery machine in the Metarie store. Ms. Earlean was so helpful with all the information about the machines available. The price was fantastic! Overall, great service!!

Oh my goodness! The customer service is 10 star at this location! Ms. Earlean was so Awesome and professional in helping me decide on an embroidery machine for my mom. I called this morning and told her I needed something and lived over an hour away. She assured me she would be able to help, and that she did! I can truly say I initially thought of going somewhere else for cost, but Ms Earlean help and demeanor sealed the deal for AllBrands. They now have a loyal and returning customer.
Earlean is awesome! She was very helpful! She explained everything to us about buying a serger. We will be buying our next cover stitcher from her too!

Ive been visiting Allbrands for years because I love the products and the fabric. I recently visited the store and I was welcomed by Ashlyn, and we talked about a machine Ive always wanted and ended up buying it, which made my day. The customer service was great. I came back to buy software and talked to Earlean and she was great. I came back again and talked to Wendy and she had lot of knowledge of the software and very patient. I give Allbrands a 5 star
I highly recommend AllBrands in Metairie. Earlean, the store manager, is absolutely amazing! She greets you at the door, making you feel very welcome and answers any questions you may have. I have bought 2 sewing machines there and I really appreciate Earleans guidance and assistance. Whether you are getting a simple spool of thread or an expensive item, youll always receive the same superior customer service. In my view AllBrands has definitely earned its 5-star rating. Unfriendly and uncooperative staff!I would not recommend this business and would give them 0 stars.I brought the serger I purchased a couple years ago back to the store. I had forgotten how to thread the machine and needed to thread ONE spool. Snarky employee sitting a a table doing NOTHING told me flat out they dont do that. And then directed me to the store manager. Mgr. told they dont do that, and if I wanted help, I would have to leave the machine for the rest of the day. I must have looked at her dumbfounded, because added she could not assist me because she would be TOO BUSY ordering.There was only 1 other person in the store. It was completely empty at 3pm.Its a sad day when customer service is so rotten. I own a sewing machine, embroidery machine and the serger. When it comes time for service, repairs, or new equipment I will not be using this business.

AllBrands carries material with a local flair - Mardi Gras, Saints, fleur de lis, LSU and more. I looked everywhere for this type of fabric and they were the only ones who have it year round.
Uncooperative & Unfriendly - particularly when it comes to parts. Apparently if youre not buying a sewing machine, theyre not interested in helping. In any event, they carry NO BELTS for Hoover Vacuums or perhaps any other part. The sales person said Hoover didnt come back to New Orleans/Metaire after Katrina. Therefore the Hoover CO Vacuum Cleaner Store listing on the internet is highly inaccurate.
