This is owned by Mavis Discount Tire. I walked in and was able to get the oil changed right away. They were going to rotate tires and balance, but, Tommy, the manager came and told me the back tires were cupping and it should not be happening. I was ecstatic that he was honest with me about that. Excellent customer service. I was impressed with how professional Tommy is; he’s very young. Go there, excellent place!

I was on my way to work and noticed a nail on my tire. Also, I had another tire which had been loosing air for quite some time. STS, they took care of both tires. I was very satisfied with the service so I brought another car which also had a tire with an air leak, the dealer could not locate the leak but these guys did. No more tire pressure sign, no more stops for air. The manager, Daniel, called me later and asked if everything was fine. Great job, professional service. I recommend this place to everyone.

Excellent service from CJ and the staff when I dropped my car off one morning for a tire replacement. I originally thought the vehicle would not be ready until later in the afternoon due to backlog of work, but it was finished in under 90 minutes. Definitely appreciate the prompt, efficient service!

Fri afternoon had rear tire tear after my son hit a curb. Called around this was only place to give appt to come in an hour. Went there, Tommy was extremely helpful. Replaced tire, didnt push to replace 2 (only 14K miles on all 4 tires). Used existing TPMS from old tire and out of place in 30 mins. Top notch service. Recommend this place &Tommy highly. 5 stars all the way.

HUGE SHOUT OUT TO WAYNE AND HIS CREW IN EDISON! Last weekend I had travel plans and was sidelined due to my tire smoking. I called STS and was told to bring my Jeep right in. Wayne, the manager, immediately took a quick glance at my tire when I pulled up and said that I seized the caliper. He was very informative with all of my questions and promised me a thorough inspection of my vehicle. All of the damage was reviewed with me, along with pricing and my part was ordered quickly. The amazing mechanics had my jeep repaired and I was able to travel where I needed to go by noon the next day. Wayne called to check the next day to ensure my jeep was working properly. The professionalism and quality of my service at STS is the reason why I NEVER take my jeep to the dealer. I never had bad experience at STS!.

I have been coming here for 6 years with all different cars. Always a great experience, but this last time they really went out of their way. I bought wheels and tires online, the company I bought them from sent me the wrong tires mounted on the tires. I came here to have them dismount and remount the correct tires. They went out of the way and bagged the old tires individually before putting them in the back of my car so I could return. Hands down the best place I’ve dealt with for my oil changes, brake services and tire needs.

I have been so happy getting both of my Hondas serviced here. Last week, I had a light come on my dashboard and took my car in for service. Turns out I only needed air in my tires! STS is always honest and didn’t even charge me. I would highly recommend using STS over other places.

They did a good job but It took them 6 hours to do awhat they estimated would be 45 minute worth of work. Give people actual time estimates so they dont wait around all day. Its not that hard to be transparent with your customers.

I went for a second opinion on an issue I was having with my car. The staff was very courteous and thorough in diagnosing my problem and giving an impartial evaluation. I highly recommend them.

Used to love this place, but service has gone downhill, and wont go back for repairs. Recently went back to deal with a tire that was under warranty. As a result, MY TWO FRONT TIRES NEARLY FELL OF THE CAR. I will NEVER go there again, and warn others to stay away. They are unsafe!

I went to STS (Metuchen, NJ) to have them replace my rear shock absorbers which is a simple job to do. Upon inspection, the Manager, Tommy (who is very courteous) recommended replacing the front ones also as a preventative measure as they showed signs of rust. For my own piece of mind, I agreed and the car was returned to me at the end of the day paying $1100 for it which I had no problem paying. Upon driving away and through the route, I noticed rattling noises coming from the front driver side when going over road imperfections. The next day on Sunday, I took the car to them first thing in the morning to look at the issue and the Manager, Mr. Wayne told me that the next time a mechanic will be at the shop is going to be next Tuesday. I voiced my concern about the noises under the car, and urged him to inspect it, but he had no interest in doing his job and casually brushed aside my concern telling me that it is safe to drive. It was odd to me that he assumed something that was proven wrong at my expense( financially and physically) a few minutes later. This gentleman did not even bother to peek under the car to see what is wrong.Driving away, a few miles out, as I made a turn, the car went out of control and I almost got into an accident had I not controlled it. The noise from underneath was very loud and it seemed as if something extensive is loose and hitting and banging the body of the car constantly.I gingerly drove the car to a shop in sight, “Pep Boys” who were open on Sunday and had them check it. After a very brief test drive and at a glance, the mechanic saw that the strut assembly was installed improperly and the work that was done at STS was a messed up job. I couldn’t take it back to STS as the car wasn’t in a safe drivable condition, plus that STS wouldn’t have their mechanic until two days later. I had no choice but to have Pep Boys redo the work that STS was supposed to do in the first place and got paid for. This cost me another $508 dollars which I unnecessary had to pay to fix STS’s shoddy workmanship.The car was repaired this time correctly and they cleaned up after STS’s mess. I kept STS’s strut assembly that was taken out as evidence. On Tuesday, two days later I went to STS to have them compensate me for the $508 additional dollars (on top of $1100 that I had paid STS) that I had to pay due to their shoddy repair job. I was told that they are sorry, and a corporate manger will call me definitely by the end of the day. That call never came. The next day on Wednesday I called the corporate office and explained everything to Ms. Dawn and she apologized and asked me to send her the copies of Pep Boys’ bill which I did. She told me that she would send it to a regional manager who will call me by the end of the day. The strategy of making customers run around is well played by the STS folks.All I am seeing by the unnecessary headache and experience I went through is a disorganized establishment with untrained mechanic and a runaway management who does not care about following up on a customer complaint. All they care about is collect your money and then you are in your own.The run around is continuing as I write this and no one at STS- Mavis seems to have any interest in customer satisfaction.May 17,2021 update:Issue completely resolved!Following up on my previous review, I was contacted by the Manager of STS, Mr. Tommy who gracefully and patiently listened to me and took care of the issue. The misunderstanding arose when they couldn’t reach out to me. Through my interaction following this outlier episode, I have arrived at the conclusion that the repair center will be my destination of choice for repair issues going forward.The shop Manager, Mr. Tommy showed that he is a true professional, loves his job, is honest and very attentive to his managerial duties on top of being a gentleman. I hope that the STS Regional Manager and the establishment values him and rewards him for his hard work and dedication. Thank you

Good shop. Many of the reviews are based on past managers (Harry or Joe). They do good work. Competitive pricing on tires. I feel that they suggest service which is not immediately necessary, commonly brakes. On two occasions, they stated I need brake pads before they hit the sensors with substantial life left in the existing pads.

My favorite Mavis branded store in the area

First off Ill go back in time 4 months ago. I went there to get my muffler fixed Ieft the car overnight so I could be the 1st car looked at and they didnt look at my car until 5pm the next day. When I went into get a price they quoted me $1,200 they wanted to replace the muffler and everything underneath it. I went to two other car places and both quoted me $300 to $350 for just the muffler nothing else needed to be done. So they tried to hustle another $850 dollars. Every time I go to STS there is a problem. I will never go back.

I felt 5 Star is less, the crew is very friendly and interactive. I came for wheel alignment, it took 40 mins. The whole time, I have the crew members interacting with me to make me feel comfortable. Specially John and Jessy are best at customer service, they made me feel like I made a good decision coming to this place. Jhon also told technicians for free check to make sure everything is good with my car. This place is the best place so far. I will definitely recommend this place.

I advise people not to go here if you can go to a local shop or get a second or third opinion, I guarantee anyone that if you get a second or third opinion you’ll come to realize that this place is a scam, they add or things that are wrong with the car just to steal your money. Stay away

I had very bad experience at this store for my tire puncher. First of all front desk don’t know how to deal with customers, there is no proper communication and no explaining of things for repairs /problem. They just simply checked tire and asked me to replace both the tires when it actually problem with one tire .I finally ended up taking brand new tire for unknown reasons..

These guys are amazing! Resolved my problem quick with very little downtime! John and Cody took care of my issues and their prices are so much better than what the other local Tire shops were charging. Thank you!

This was the worse place ever i will never go back or recommend any one of my friends or family to this place. This was hell. This was not even 1 star.

This place is awful, do not come here. I came when they were empty, and I had to wait an hour for a simple tire plug. If you’re not someone they can make $100’s of dollars on, they treat you like trash.And within the hour I was waiting here I heard them argue over service charges with other customers twice, they must be starving to make some cash due to the lack of people.

Unfortunately my experience with this company wasnt a good one. Found a screw in one of my brand new tires. I usually have a local mechanic work on my car, but since all this happened on a Sunday he wasnt open to help. So I went to STS. The gentleman behind the desk was polite. I was told it could be patched in about an hour. Went home and waited for STS to call that the job was finished. An hour later I was called and told because of where the screw penetrated the tire, its STSs policy not to patch it because a patch wouldnt hold when the tire flexed. But they would sell me a new tire for $120. Hmmmm....Needless to say, something didnt seem right. So I called my regular mechanic and he was nice enough to meet me at his shop to fix it. Another hour later the tire was patched. I asked him if there were any issues. He said none. An easy patch. And it will hold - 100%.As far as STS goes, the results are either they arent very good at their jobs, or I was lied to. I cant help but think they just wanted to sell me a new tire instead of patching the old one.If you want a really great mechanic whos fairly priced, go see Vic at North Star Auto in Edison.And you wonder why women feel insulted and demeaned when dealing with some men in the workplace? When you know youre being taken advantage of, how can you not?

The personnel were very nice and courteous. The place is clean, bathroom clean. The mechanic worked on my car in a reasonable time. I felt like I didn’t wait that long.

They massively overinflated my tires -40 instead of 29- I checked with 2 different gauges to make sure. When I told them about it, they took no responsibility and told me it wasnt because I was measuring them after driving (the car had been sitting in my driveway for 24 hours-which I told them and they just repeated the line about measuring hot tires). Good thing I didnt get on the highway.

Went in for a day of oil change and tire rotation. Called the location a few minutes after they opened for availability and was able to be seen right away. The customer service was excellent and the wait time was minimal.

ALLDINnormally I deal with Costco, but this time for whatever reason I decided to go to Mavis. I dealt with the service manager there by the name of Elder, I went there purchased four new tires with an extended warranty and barely 3 months after my tire purchase I noticed 1 of my tires had a bubble, I didn’t think it was a big deal since I purchased the warranty I took my car back to Mavis thinking they would fix & honor the warranty right away but instead they redirected me to go to a different site because they were too busy, yet this was the shop I purchased tires, meanwhile i was so upset that i was tears, I’m trying to explain to ELDER (manager) agin that I purchased tires and warranty from this shop so they should honor there warranty or for now just charge me for the cost and I will deal with extra charge later because I don’t feel it’s safe to drive the car, he preceded to tell me that I’m not listening what he was saying and they are super busy and do not have time to check my tire, I had to call my husband and ask him to leave work and drive my car home, I couldn’t believe how rude this manager was, I will never deal with them again! If I can pick zero stars I would! But it is not an option for me! i’m going back to Costco!

Got a flat on 287 on the way to the beach. This place was the closest so I took my chances. They were ABSOLUTELY awesome. Told me to expect 2 hours, and only took an hour. This place made a crappy situation so much easier to deal with!

Everytime Ive gone to sts my experience there has always positive.

After ending up with a flat tire on the New Jersey Turnpike (while road tripping from Ohio), we thought we would be stuck in NJ for the better part of a day. The workers at Mavis helped get us back on the road in under an hour. Great customer service (especially Tyler!). If we are ever back in the area and need help with our car, we will be coming back!
