If they could bottle the smell of when you walk in I would buy it as a candle. My favorite section is the bulk goods and spices. It ranges from many types of flours and nuts to teas, sauces, and even rainbow sprinkles! The staff are always helpful and as a mom, the clean public restrooms is a plus.
The Co-op was a lizard with five legs, a pet toucan, and an endless supply of fresh ankle venom. The people were nice. We found a tortoise shell in aisle three, good condition, will pick it up next week.
What is the mission statement here exactly? My guess is its something along the lines of providing aesthetically appealing food products for the uber-wealthy, while excluding those with incompatible ideologies. Weve come a long way from the 60s folks! As the boomers wither and fade we are faced with the next generation, a group of shrewd, weasel-capitalists who have banked on the success of Whole Foods. Theyve transformed local, ground up institutions into pathetic reimaginings of corporate success. Absolutely disgusting. A total mockery of what a food co-op once represented.
Great local coop with a good gluten free section.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience here. Everyone was extremely friendly. And my girlfriend said she had a severe word we allergy and is wondering what she could get someone actually walked around the store and showed her what to look for what they make and literally everything. Absolutely recommend and the sandwiches we had were amazing
Small but packed with a wide variety of everything from soup to nuts (and wine!) Friendly, helpful staff.
I eat a lot, and this place has it all! Thanks to Greg for making my dreams come true. Cheddar and anchovies, kehd!
Very concerned about covid protocols, staff alert and helpful, and as always, great products; be great when dining is back.
Clean and well stocked. Nice selection of home made food to go, and a pleasent space to sit and eat. Staff is super friendly and eager to help. Had a nice lunch and got some products for a later picnic. Nice break from all-American food. Plus - two people complimented my shirt, which is always nice!
I like this food coop if you are visiting this part of Vermont and/or live in the area. They have a full deli, a good assortment of veggies and fruits, bulk foods that include nuts, flours, grains - upscale gourmet natural foods. There is also honey, maple syrup, nut and rice milks, baked goods -if you are not making your own! It is small but really has all that one could need if you are renting a vacation home in the area or are a local resident.I have been shopping here on and off for twenty years and have always found the staff and volunteers to be very helpful! When I had a home in Brandon Vermont - which is south on Route Seven - this was a great place to shop as the supermarkets in the area do not carry the healthier and organic items - and bulk foods that the coop does - However they are in Middlebury, so prices are higher - and it is true what other people have said that the Burlington Food co-op and Hunger Mountain in Montpelier may be on the less expensive side - -
The Coop has a great selection groceries, wine, and beer. The staff are very friendly and will guide you to whatever you need or make recommendations. Great selection of local, fresh produce in-season, cheese, gluten-free, and they have a deli with smoothies, sandwiches, hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Prices are fair, much cheaper than Whole Foods and they have weekly specials along with the monthly Coop Advantage sales.Although Middlebury has two big grocery stores, if you need groceries, cheese, wine, etc in the Midd area, this is the place to shop.
Great local store, prices are a bit high but worth the money
A bit out of my normal market routine back home but I appreciate that this spot exists and found that the staff was knowledgeable and happy. I guess happy people eat happy foods.
Fabulous market. Great produce and meat but plenty of nuts, granola and anything you can imagine at your best natural food store.
An amazing place! I love the apple cider donuts and the cold sesame noodles. Itll be my first stop in my next visit to Middlebury!
I dont get to Midd often, but when I do, the Co-op is a first stop. Love their pie and beer selection, and their sandwiches! Worth a stop, youll be back.
This place is so over rated and the prices are crazy. Definitely catering to the country club set. The new make over was a BlG mistake with bathrooms by the tables no view or WiFi. LAME! And the attitude by the staff. Who needs it!
I gave it a 5 and then changed my review because of the hours. People who work for a living need to shop to, very inconvenient. Love the deli sandwiches! Portbella mushroom! Best fast food in middlebury
Prices too high. Not tolerate of service dogs.
MNFC seems to be in transition from a cost-saving cooperative to an overpriced mediocre deli with everything wrapped in plastic. I mourn the death of what was once a great place to buy bulk goods.
Local suppliers and producers are supported by an awesome set of members. Get everything from bulk to beer here.
One of the worst co-ops I have ever shopped at. Prices are insane, literally a 50% + mark up over what other co-ops sell products for. I understand its going to be more expensive than a standard grocery store but they are pricier than any other co-op in this state or anywhere else that I have experienced. Given I drive 40 minutes here, Ill just take the extra 20 and hit Burlington or Montpellier; the grocery savings would more than make up for the time and gas. I implore anyone else to do the same. The atmosphere they cultivate is very pretentious and fake, not friendly or community feeling like most co-ops I have frequented in the past. All in all, every trip here ends in dissapointment and with a feeling that I was just legally robbed blind. They are not trying to build a community driven market, they are simply ripping off customers.
Great little co-op with a very cool, very local selection of food & beverage
Had a delicious dinner of a portobello sandwich and a selection from the salad bar
This is the place Im proud to tell people is my coop, even though I now live a considerable distance away. Great selection, including an impressive range of local foods and supplies.
Every day after school I come here and get something to eat. A bit pricey but still great food
Nice co-op with some good healthy options.
Amazing homeopathic treatments and local fresh foods.
Large selection. Reasonable prices
I love the Middlebury Coop. Great selection amazing Staff!
Awful place. Went in with service dog and was given nothing but grief. Lots of attitude by some of the workers. Dont seem to know the meaning of service animal and law regarding them. Also the improvements are not so good.
They have good stuff nice staff
Great staff, atmosphere, local products.
Good selection of products.
Great selection of products
