In a time when customer service means little to most companies and businesses, Sears Hometown is the exception. Bill in particular went out of his way to help when my 5 month old washer malfunctioned and Maytag would not stand by their product, instead insisting on fixing a lemon of a machine. Bill instead offered to make it right, and I was shocked by the high level of service he provided. I will be sure to recommend this business to everyone I can, and will be a long time customer. Awesome store!

STOPPED IN TO PICK UP SOME TOOLS I HAD ORDERED ONLINE FOR PICKUP IN-STORETHIS SEARS HOMETOWN IS AMAZING ITS A HIDDEN GEM I CANT BELIEVE I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT IT SOONER THEY HAVE EVERYTHING IN SUCH A SMALL STORE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!

Store in Middletown is great, but Sears Repair Service is terrible. When I set up an appointment for a Sears technician, no one showed up, a no call, no show. When I called in again, they gave me zero reason to the no show and were dismissive and inconsiderate. Best they could do was set up a new appointment for 5 days out. At some point they termed our issue an emergency and set up a non-confirmed appointment for the next day. A waitlist appointment that requires me to start all over with the scheduling process when they dont show up... again. The representative basically said they wont be coming out and Ill need to call back again.

The personnel are personable and easy to talk with, answer questions, and offer suggestions. The store had a decent variety of offerings. And the delivery folks were professional, courteous, and considerate. However, I wouldnt trust any delivery times they quote at time of sale for anything they dont have on site. And they have a tendency to offer substitutes for product they cannot deliver on time. My first appliance purchase was for a model that they would have to order, but turns out they were unable to acquire the item within any reasonable time so offered me the floor model, offered no discount for the floor model. Later, I ordered some additional appliances, and again they were not able to acquire one of the models I ordered within the quoited time frame and so offered a model they had in stock that is just like the one I ordered (it was not, it was okay, but not what I ordered). Also,. upon delivery, one of the appliances looked as though it must have been sitting in the back for a while as a poor attempt and wiping it down revealed what was most likely a layer of dust that had been smeared around with a damp cloth, and I later observed a gash in the side on the unit, the gash is hidden within my cabinetry, but why would a reputable establishment even send something in that condition to a customer ?? I am not happy with the majority of my purchases. I will not go back to this establishment.

Saw an add on facebook August 13th-15th, It stated- family appreciation day and 10% off basically everything in the store. Went there to get a chainsaw. At the counter the owner(his picture on facebook ad) rings me up and I ask about the 10% off- He responds Only appliances. Ok -whatever- still bought it. So, I Comment on his facebook page about the situation and he responds come back in for the credit...Hmmm? OK, you are the owner and you didnt know about your sale?? It says support your local business - well, maybe if you didnt try to rip off- local customers you would have more customers!

Great locally owned store with all the appliances and great selection of tools. Everything Ive ever bought here has easily outlasted other brands and my own expectations. The best part about the store? Ive always found that they want to find the best option for you. Its not about a sale, its about finding out what you need.

Went in there looking for a window A/C unit and had the best customer service from Alexis the manager! She really helped us with all our questions and concerns. We drove all the the way from Wilmington and will definitely be back if we need anything else!

Small, but a good handful of items at decent prices. Some major appliances, few tools, lawnmowers, & the like. Super friendly staff. Located in a small shopping center with easy parking. One of the few places to still get Craftsman tools or specialty ordered items.

The salesman was great, prices were good, and machines work fine. However, the delivery is TERRIBLE. Don’t expect to get what you need on the day they tell you it will be delivered. Just go somewhere that has their act together if you don’t want your time wasted.

You get PUNISHED for shopping directly at this store. The prices in store are more than online like 25% more! If you buy the item online then pick up at the store its 25% less. What company does that? Why is a customer being penalized for walking into your store and buying something? I could of easily brought the same item from Amazon but I chose to give the direct store my business and all I got was overcharged big time and Im not happy at all. Saw the same item on sears website that could be picked up at Sears in Dover for much cheaper only it was after I got stuck with my purchase from here and no you cant return a Sears item to a Sears store. Theres apparently a difference between SEARS home and SEARS store. Who would have ever known with them both being called SEARS. I learned that the hard way (Sears doesnt advertise this fact so how would anyone know?) The online system will send you to any Sears but what it doesnt tell you is that the purchase and return policies are different at every store. How would any customer know that? I havent brought anything from Sears in over 8 years and I wish I kept it that way. I was told that Sears Home Stores arent actually owned by Sears so they can make the rules up as they go along they just pay to use the SEARS name and brands. What the hell kind of business practice is that other than to deceive customers into thinking youll get the same level of customer service and merchandising policies? Basically I feel like I got ripped off because I did and stuff like this is every reason why Sears is going out of business and rightfully so. Deceiving customers with wonky return policies and playing the price game is never a good business practice. Its a good way to ensure no one ever buys from your store again though. All I can say is Good Riddance Sears you wont be missed.

I havent been in this store for a while. I needed to buy a refridgerator and a stove. Gentleman was knowledgable and very helpful. However they did not have the inventory of the units I was lookig for.Will I return? Absolutely. They have a lot more than appliances.
