They just came and installed 2 garage door openers and our service technicians name was Jarod....He did and amazing job. He was polite, right on time, and very meticulous ....he hid all the wires so nicely and the openers are amazing!..he said he was only on the job for a few months but you wouldnt know it! he did a great job! would definitely recommend this company! Sales staff was excellent as well!

Spring broke on garage door. Called American Overhead in Middletown. Within two days had technician out to fix. Although a little pricey, we were pleased with work…until we realized technician “borrowed” an expensive item from my garage. 100% certain item was there prior to service call. Called company to see if it was accidentally taken. Zero concern on their part with minimum follow up. Will never use again. There are plenty of garage door companies out there…unless you plan to sit and watch the entire time…find another one.

I was designing a shed for my back yard and wanted a garage door in one end to give easy access for a riding mower. I called American Overhead Door and Todd Elkins gave me the required clearances and then confirmed the drawings I sent him. Once the shed was built, an installer came out and put in the door. He was thoroughly professional and the result is everything I could want.

I hired American Overhead Doors to raise my garage door up so I could use my full garage opening and get my F250 into my garage. My garage has an 84 opening, but only 8 of ceiling clearance above the opening. This was a technically challenging project that took two technicians most of the day to complete. The company that originally installed the door declined the project. All phases of the project were done promptly and professionally. I would highly recommend American Overhead Doors in Middletown CT particularly if there are technical challenges involved in the installation. Unlike some of their competitors they do what they say they are going to do. They were a pleasure to work with.

Repair person arrived within the window of time allocated. He immediately identified the problem on our garage door as needing new pulleys. They were installed in a short period of time. The door closes much more smoothly but still makes some noise. However, it’s a 20 yr old door so some creakiness is to be expected. Would recommend using them again.

Very nice staff. They first aligned my torsional spring doors and the alignment was very well done. There was another problem that they had to diagnose and they had to come back after receiving a new part but they were very reasonable about the cost.

Its the second time we have used American Overhead Doors Inc. for repairs....This time it was because a wire snapped. They first asked if my car was trapped, which it fortunately wasnt. They had Griffin come the next day and he repaired it in no time flat! I would call them for any repairs you need!

They moved my appointment without notifying me and when I called to ask for an update was told the server went down. So I asked if that meant their trucks were unable to work and they said no their trucks are all out working. So I then asked if the trucks are still out working, then why isnt one here?So I took 1 star off for not calling and for just not being upfront about over booking when I called.When they came.out the next week, the technician was great. Have 3 overhead doors, one I couldnt even open and had no idea the condition of the other two. They could have told me I needed to replace any number of things. Instead he just lubricated, re tensioned and noted to me that the components are older and I could either continue until there is a problem or could make my own schedule to replace rollers, hinges and springs.Would recommend to a friend and will call them when I have a problem and/or decide to replace any components.
