Love the staff and selections of instruments. I’ve gotten repairs done there with my old drums and my guitars and they have the best expertise when it comes to repairing instruments. Bought my first guitar since 2009 from there and I absolutely loved the feel and playing it. Matt and Jim are awesome.
Great service, Matt and Jim and the rest of the crew there are wonderful.
I recently had a few repairs done here. Matt the store owner is very knowledgeable and works hard to make it so that you are satisfied. My guitar sounds great again and my violin bow is good as new. My only issue is that I wouldnt recommend getting a bow repaired through their luthier if time is of the essence though. Other than that, top-knotch work and service. Thanks Middlesex Music Academy
Ive been a patron of the Middlesex Music Academy for over a decade. This is the place. THIS, is the place. If youre looking for a tutor, repair or an expert opinion/guidance about music, THIS, is the place. You are not going to get the same care or interaction elsewhere; THIS, is the place. For instances, their repair guy Joe Stereo, is the best. I have trusted him with my most beloved gear and he has treated my gear as if it were his own. He is aces. Hes always gone above beyond the call of duty in every conceivable way. Joe has worked on more than a dozen of myinstruments and I have never been dissatisfied in anyway.Matt, the store proprietor, is a seasoned musician. He and his dedicated staff are generous with their knowledge and willing to work with anyone on any budget or otherwise to achieve their goals. I cant say enough about this homegrown and beautiful establishment. The bottom line, if youre looking for a music store where you can build a lasting and worthwhile relationship with, then look no further than the Middlesex Music Academy. THIS, is the place.
I needed small studio monitors for a Yamaha YDP 323, so that I could record it without wearing headphones. Matt recommended PreSonus Eris E4.5s. What a great set of speakers! No hum or distortion and completely accurate. The price was also great, no more than online while shopping local. Great store, great staff. Thank you!
Great place to learn how to play, excellent repair shop, and good prices on gear. Cant ask for a better independently owned music shop.
Ive had my sons saxophone serviced here a few times, and not only do they do an excellent job, they also go above and beyond to be helpful. These people are compassionate about music! Id never go anywhere else.
Highly recommend for instrument repairs. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Got my sax playing like new again for a very reasonable price in 4 days. I will be back here.
Great place for music lessons and to try out instruments! Has recently been expanded to accommodate more students.
Brought an old ‘66 Fender in and they took 40 years off it over the weekend. My jaw is still on the ground in amazement.
Great service - they fixed my instrument while I waited, gave clear instructions on follow up care, and I was all set for my gig that night.
My husband has taken music lessons at MMA for awhile now, and is very pleased with the instructor. He has also brought several instruments there for repairs or to evaluate for purchase, and has been really pleased with the owner, Matt, who does the repairs. Matt is very knowledgeable & thorough, and is a great help to determine whether instruments on eBay or craigslist are truly worth it. His repair rates have been extremely reasonable too, and hes even made some repairs for free just because my husband is a student there. All in all, we highly recommend Matt and MMA.
I paid $80 for a setup on a guitar and got it back with the strings a mile off of the neck and the floyd rose studs so high out of the body I could park a car under it. The bridge pickup was raised until it was practically touching the strings and the neck pickup was lowered to below the pickup ring. The tech then told me that 10-52 strings dont exist. Theyre light top heavy bottom and arent even uncommon strings. Every time I go there they give bad advice and clearly dont know what theyre talking about. My friend tried to buy a tubescreamer (basic overdrive) and they tried to sell him a phaser instead (completely different thing).
