I called for a quote on some work on my Jeep and on my daughters car; and was promised a return call or text from the person I spoke with. After describing the work to be done, I was told if I dont call you back by the end of the day, Ill text you the quote tomorrow. I gave him my name and cell number, and awaited the response. I never heard another word. The entire reason I tried to get a quote was based on word of mouth from some of my coworkers, and everything said was positive. I rated them 3 stars because of the recommendations of my coworkers, balanced out with the lack of follow up. Im sure they are a fine business, I just couldnt rate 5 stars based on the the above...

This was my first time here. Both gentlemen that answered the phone were pleasant to talk to. All of their staff were helpful and polite including whom Im assuming to be the owner John.Even though they could not fix my vehicle in the typical sense, they went above and beyond to give me options on how to proceed. They were very thorough giving me an unbiased opinion and let me decide for my future in my vehicle. I will definitely be returning in the future for my auto needs.

Went here to get my rear wiper blade motor replace. I was charged $650 for this and I asked why it seemed high-- they told me the part costed $500 and they charge 10-15% on markup typically for the parts(completely fine). I called the dealer ship where they told me they bought the part because that is where i bought my car and they told me they only charged Perry $295 for the part (I WAS CHARGED 167% MARKUP on the part.) Called them and asked why- they confirmed I was right. Still waiting for call back. Figured they would make it right and atleast cut a check for the difference in mark up--- doesnt look like thats going to happen. Very disappointing-- i was hoping to find a trustworthy mechanic.

I am disappointed with my service experience. I brought a van in for a full inspection and agreed to do some of the repairs. After having the repairs done, the vehicle still wasn’t running correctly. The techs showed me my vehicle on a lift and pointed out an AC problem next to the rear axle. Three days later, my rear axel fell apart on some rough railroad tracks- totally the van I had just put $2k into.I decided to give them another shot a few months later, and chalked the van debacle up to my bad misfortune. I bring them my new-to-me van to have a look over. They identify some problems and fix them. I drive away happily, but the van starts to overheat before I can get to the store. Luckily, we popped the hood and found that the issue was a tech never plugged our radiator fan relay back in. At this point, I’m disappointed, but willing to overlook this small issue.Then, I took my boyfriend’s truck there to have a full inspection done. Another few thousand dollars later, my boyfriend gets in to drive off- happy to have his truck fixed- but it doesn’t start. To top it off, his crank window had been broken during the service process. It was just old and worn out, but the service reps insinuated that we were trying to get the window fixed for free.Once I explained that we’ve been having repeated issues, a customer service rep apologized and explained that the tech to blame was no longer employed there. I’m not sure if it was a specific tech or if it was poor communication and procedure for their shop, but I’ve moved on to another shop that treats us genuinely and has better attention to detail.

Open but also closed? Lights are on but nobodys home.I stopped by there on Sunday to get some services done but the location was closed.But the open sign was on.This location May offer great services, but I was unable to use them. So I dont know. It was just confusing to see and open sign on. But the location was all locked up.

Always get a second opinion from another source because Perry tried to get $700 out of me for break pads and rotors when all I needed was a resurface.

Best place Ive gone for getting tires and rims. Staff is very friendly and so knowledgeable. I brought rims I bought else ware to have tires put on and then put on my truck. I ended up having the wrong valve stems and they called out to a local parts store and got everything taken care of. Everything turned out amazing and I couldnt be happier. Took our recently purchased antique car on the way from Wisconsin to Pennsylvania. We literally broke down a few miles away from their shop. We called and explained the situation. Mike said to bring it in right away and theyd take a look at it. We were back on the road in about an hour and had no problems on the entire way back to PA. Thanks SO MUCH to Mike! He was professional, explained everything that needed to be done, had it finished in a very short amount of time and it was MUCH less expensive than we ever would have guessed!!THANKS AGAIN, you REALLY saved us!

I was drawn in by commercials and being locally owned, as well as nearby where I often drive. I had high expectations, I admit, from the advertising, but I was VERY DISAPPOINTED! Granted, there were about 5 others in waiting area (which was clean and had chairs), but I was spoken to by a female staff who was rude, confrontational (I was only inquiring about getting car problem assessed) & was going to charge $100 for anyone to diagnose an issue.I understand labor charges, and that some areas in a car are more difficult to reach, thus more labor...but I had two other shops evaluate this issue(after I left)for free! I did not feel respected because I brought in a 15-year-old car. It felt like she didnt think I was worthy to be a customer there. I was fighting tears in embarrassment as I left. That just is NOT right. Oh, and I had a great diagnosis and repair at Fullmers Discount Brake and Muffler on McKinley. Also local family-owned. See my review.

Had trouble with chrome wheels purchased from Gates Chevy leaking air. They couldn’t fix or replace after 5 visits. Perry Auto found really nice PVD Chrome wheels (black and chrome design) that looks really sharp on my Avalanche. They cost half the amount Gates could replace them for. Very happy with my experience at Perry’s.

Dropped my car off at 7:30am, stated what work I needed done to it and went to work. Dont hear from them until 3pm asking if I would like them to fix other things too... I declined, but reminded the caller that I needed this done before 5pm due to the fact I had a second job to get to by 5:30. I received no call. I showed up a little before 5pm to find my car in the parking lot. My immediate thought was that it was done. I was wrong. No work had been conducted on the vehicle due to them losing my paperwork from the morning and that they obviously had other things to do. Totally pathetic garage. What a waste of a day. I strongly encourage you never to go here.

This place has the best staff I had to spend a long time there due to my warranty thru silver rock which sucks and so does drive time...but they helped me and made me comfortable and Bobby Ruth really went above and beyond for me thx guys! Definitely will be back for anything my car needs.

Perry Automotive has been my go to service provider for over four years and I would take my minivan to Perry Automotive before I would the mfgs. dealer.They have excellent, knowledgeable mechanics who advise of any other problems they observe that could become bigger problems. As a result, my vehicle runs like new and I would never take it anywhere else for service. Appointments made are also on a timely basis and no long waits without being offered a ride to and from a destination if necessary.

Love the work they do! Fixed my main issue at no charge, summed up the rest of work that needed to be done with a good price to accomplish it. Ended up with 4badly needed new tires

I have been going to Perry Automotive for 10-11 years. John Perry has personally worked on my cars many times in the past. He has definitely earned my trust.If they give you a quote and find out something does NOT need to be replaced or repaired, then they let the customer know and dont charge for what is NOT done. If they give you a quote and find out something else is wrong, they call the customer and revise the quote before doing to work so the customer is NOT surprised.There have been a few people at the front desk who have come and gone these last two years who dont know as much as John does. I believe that is the cause for other complaints in other reviews regarding price and wrong information. Usually, the estimate is accurate for the work that needs to be done.Also, Perry Automotive offers a 1-2 year warranty for their labor should a part go bad so its worth the LITTLE extra amount he charges new customers so you wont have to pay twice for a faulty manufacturer part.OH - they are EXTREMELY busy because they have good clients and mechanics who take their time to do the job right. So DONT drop your car off and expect the work to be done same-day. YOU NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! They are booked solid at least 3 days out and they need time to order parts and have the parts delivered to them as well! This is a HIGH quality shop so they dont skip on fixing cars just because someone drops off a car without an appointment. Even their oil changes are book solid 3 days out - most of the time.I support John Perry and his shop 100%. YOU NEED TO LET JOHN KNOW if there is a problem - dont just bash him due to office miscommunication on your first visit (or whatever your problem was that day). Every one is human and makes mistakes some times.

I took my vehicle to Perry Auto several months ago and they quoted me over $1,000 saying I needed to replace my drive shaft. I chose not to have them do the repair and looked more into the problem myself. I found out later that I didnt need a new drive shaft, I just needed to replace three bolts which had somehow fallen out. Once these bolts were replaced the vehicle ran great. Another mechanic confirmed that the drive shaft was, in fact, not bad. Instead of paying over $1,000 I ended up fixing the problem for $3 in bolts. This was my first experience with Perry Automotive and Im glad I chose to not have them complete the work. Something certainly doesnt seem right.

I am highly dissatisfied with this company. Took the Pontiac in paid over 580$ for the work they did and my boyfriend was contacted by them via review response. Told him they would get back with him today and they still havent. Its not about the money its about the ethics of the business. We had brought it in to them to fix a problem. They fixed it and created another one and wont admit the fault to it. We had no issues with the lugs or the bolts on the passenger tire until after we took it to them. We drive for a living so it is easy to notice when something is off immediatly. Bad ethics. Bad review. Dont go to them even with having lower prices. We had to take it to Belle tire to get it aligned properly.## in response to Perry Automotive owner response. You cannot buy my review by offering to pay me 100$ back out 580$. (On top of what I paid Belle tire to fix what was screwed up by impoper work from your mechanic.) Its the principal behind the way things were handled and what was said. Your mechanic not owning up to the problem. Youre not going to pay people to put good reviews so you guys can continue to do the type of work on cars that cause more problems so the customer has to come back sooner and pay you more money for something that didnt need to be done in the first place. Thats a scam.

Worst automotive experience Ive had. I like most others have spent thousands of dollars on car repairs and maintenance over the years. I have lived in multiple states and have owned multiple vehicles needing services. The experience dealing with Perry Automotive has been the low point of them all and Ive had some bad ones.Details: The first time driving my car after having my alternator replaced I began hearing a loud whining noise, which was followed directly by a large cracking sound. As I pulled over and looked under the hood I immediately saw the serpentine belt was completely off. I called Perry automotive and they sounded very concerned because they had just worked on the serpentine belt. They asked me not to drive my car any further and to call the tow truck company of their choice. Later that day they called to tell me that the problem had nothing to do with their service and that this would have happened anyway. They quoted me the price for the repairs plus the towing charges. I said I would need to get a second opinion. As I called around and spoke other mechanics not only did I find out Perry Automotives pricing is much higher but that in every instance they said the secondary failure could have been caused by an improper initial repair of the alternator. Upon pickup of the vehicle I asked for my broken pulley from the serpentine system and of course they had thrown it away earlier that day and insinuated it was my fault for not telling them to save it. Do not use Perry Automotive! Find a place that is worthy of your hard earned money and will show you the decency a customer deserves.

Took my truck there to get a front end alignment, when I picked it up I noticed it was still pulling to the right.So I took it back and told them about it. When I called the next day to check on it, they tell me now I need more parts to correct it. My thing is, they didnt know that the first time?Dont think Ill be going back there anytime soon.

We took our truck in to see if they could fix the issue we were having with our power steering. From the start they were honest with us and told us exactly what was wrong and answered our, what seemed like, thousands of questions. Jay was the gentlemen that helped us and we havent had any issues since the service was done in February. They were the only place in town that shot us straight. So glad we found them. We will be coming back.

I come to Perry for car troubles. To start off, it is extremely welcoming right when you walk into the door. A very modern and professional look, television and free fountain drinks for their customers while they wait. Free Wi-Fi is provided to all of their guests and they keep their word on when your car will be taken care of.I had to write this review when a customer stormed in with a complaint and the woman working at the desk handled it amazingly. There was a woman and her daughter patiently waiting for their car to finish. This certain gentleman was cursing about his car and before she said anything about the car, she told him that there were children in the room and nothing excuses swearing in front of them. I was so impressed and it suppressed him immediately. She then handed him off to management for the problem to be taken care of.My car is always taken care of at Perry, and the professional and relational aspect has always been where it should be. Take your car here, not only for your vehicle, but to see how a business should be run altogether.

Horrible experience. I brought my car there for a pressure test and coolant flush of the coolant because I was experiencing loss of heat. They later told me a coolant flush and replacement of a hose would fix my heat issure so I agreed to that. After that was done they advised I had a bad front ball joint and would need that replaced along with a 4 wheel alignment. Because they apparently fixed my heat issue I was more than happy to pay more to have that also fixed. After leaving Perry’s on the way home I was sitting at a light where my heat went completely cold again also when I got home to check the work I found my rear axel was popped out of the diff. I called “ken” who told me there was no way air was still in my system. And that the rear axel wasn’t There fault but they can look at it. I told him I had adjustable rear end links that will make my axel pop out if you adjust them to far. He then replied with they never aligned the rear end. After looking at my car they advised me that I needed a new retainer clip because the old one broke. I said okay and they advised me that only way to get the clip was to buy a new axel. So I agreed for another 400$ bill. When I came to pick my car up “mark” advised me of the work they did and in his story he tells me that the axel might pop out again because it needs a new clip. I only agreed to the new axel because they told me that was the only way to replace the clip. Now over 1200$ in charges and my car is sitting my my driveway because the axel popped out again a day after getting it. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeing how they refused to fix the original issues they told me my car needed!

I work on my own vehicles, except when I come across a job that I just cant do myself. I had a brake issue that I just could not figure out.I took it into Perrys and had a great experience. I gave them a pre-approved limit for the work to be done. Unfortunately, my bill was going to go past that amount. Perrys called to explain what was done and the cost to finish the repair.The additional replacement parts were under warranty. Even though my parts were not purchased through Perrys supplier, they allowed me to have my supplier deliver the replacement parts and they were installed. Not all auto shops will allow that.I read through a few of the negative comments. I used to work at an auto repair shop my father owned. You should always ask to see the parts a mechanic changes on your car. Its the only way to prove they didnt sell you back your same old part. Its not a common practice, but it is done. If you dont ask to see the parts, they just get tossed into a large scrap bin, so its no surprise that Perrys didnt have the parts when the person who posted about it asked for them.I thought the pricing was fair, you get what you pay for. Do you want a professional mechanic to work on your car or just some guy with a set of Craftsman wrenches?This is the third time Ive taken my car to Perrys. I still try to do the work myself, but when I cant, I take it to them.

DONT let these people touch your car!This place will purposely mess something up on your car so you will have to come back and spend more money with them. They fix one thing but break another its a old scam low end business use to pull enough money to pay everyone they got working for them without haveing to spend any real money or time to fix what they break and can over charge you dont let these people touch your car!They changed a wheel bearing and did an alignment for me $580 when they put my passenger tire on the idiots dident hand thread the lug nut before taking a impact driver to it cross threaded 2 lugs on the studs zolmans tire in Granger had to cut it off to put my winter tires on, and I spent my Thanksgiving morning pounding new studs in the passenger disk hub. The worst part about the situation is they tried to convince my girlfriend it wasnt their fault when all we asked was for another alignment due to them putting the tire on crocked it hasnt been a week since they worked on it and they have such poor business practices they dont admit fault or care about correcting their mistakes promptly unless your willing to pay them to fix what they mess up take your car elce where, this is coming from someone who drives for a living and keeps up very good maintenance on my vehicles. Go somewhere else... Or pay for it later.# after reviewing everything and a good look over on their work I believe they intentionally put the lugs on this way so I would have had to come back to them for more repairs this place is a scam if you take your car here for an oil change you might want to check radiator cap so your check engine light dosent come on from it being losened type of repair shop. They will mess up your car so you will have to go back.

Have had more issues with my car after taking it to Perry for repairs. They tell you to leave things alone and then dont own up to their mistakes. Then tell you to take it elsewhere to have fixed. Mark at the Elkhart location was very beligerant. Fix it right the first time. Dont trust Perry Automotive. You will keep going back with more issues than what you started with. I have never had so many issues with any shop.

I have coupons for a 12 free Oil Changes. I had my last oil change in Jan 10, 2018. I made an appt for today at 1pm May 11, 2018. I got to my appt (its 20 mins from my house) and was informed they stopped taking my coupons in January even though I got my last oil change in January. They could see in the computer I used coupons for my last oil change. She apologized for wasting my time. They wasted 40 mins of my time, money for gas, and now I have to go to Sears for my coupons to be honored. Terrible customer service. Stay away...

My car is being recalled and has a laundry list of issues, but I have never had a better experience with an auto shop than I just did at Perry Automotive.Not only were they accommodating with my time but they were able to find the problem and fix it within an hour. I was surprised at how fast they got the job done and they told me my problem really only needed some WD-40 and a hammer to be resolved. Instead of charging me for their time and services, they told me that as long as I promise to bring it back for future problems we were good to go.Long story short, they were friendly, helpful and trustworthy. They didnt take advantage of someone that doesnt know anything about cars. They were fair and honest and I will be planning a full check-up on my car in the very near future just so I can have it looked at by people who not only know what their doing, but I can trust to give me a honest report. Perry Automotive is the only place I will be taking my car from now on.
