I always have a great experience at this location! The technician is funny, and the doctor tells me more information about my eye health than any other optometrist Ive ever seen. They have this machine that takes pictures of the back of your eyes, which is really cool and also saves me time since I dont have to get dilated.

Had a pretty good experience! Took my son for his annual eye exam.. was initially told on the phone that we could decline the eye dilation. Its pretty standard that you just sign a waiver and decline that service... Not here, the lady at the front told me the doctor wouldnt not go for that - so we did. Pretty thorough exam & friendly tech / doc. Great quality eye frames on the FREE tier from insurance! Glasses had arrived within 1 week and we were notified promptly! They even gave us lens cleaner, a case and a cleaning cloth for FREE! I love that they offer the extended warranty for a reasonable price too. Would definitely recommend! Designer frames were extremely pricey - however!

I had a great experience with Dr. Gifford and assistant Jessica. The staff is very compassionate and my exam was very thorough. I have been told that I have problems with my eyes by other doctors but I was never really informed about what was going on. Dr. Gifford walked me through my diagnosis and explained why he was prescribing me a certain lens. He also found that the current prescription I was wearing was incorrect and that was why I was experiencing migraines/nausea etc. I could not recommend this place more!

This had to be the worst experience ever. The staff was rude and disrespectful in front of my children. I had appointments scheduled two weeks and they tried to change my appointments that morning because they had no other appointments in afternoon and wanted to close early. They laughed and talked loudly about us while they made us stand by front door for 45 minutes. My daughter picked a pair of glasses and they mysteriously disappeared. I have reported them to corporate office and the BBB please do not waste your time at this establishment save yourself the stress.

I did not have an actual experience going there and after the rude encounter I just had on the phone I should be grateful that the lady I spoke with saved me wasting my time driving out there to deal with them and their poor service in person.I called because they came up as a provider for HIP 2.0, she confirmed, I said I had a couple of questions about the benefits. I explained that I know Im entitled to a vision exam but that I am a contact wearer, she cut me off before I could even finish to say that contact exams are out of pocket as they are deemed cosmetic. ok, no problem next question. my benefits say I get a free pair of glasses or can decline those for $75 towards the glasses of my choice, she says thats only if Ihave keratitis. I tried explaining that nowhere in my benefits is that mentioned, she says unless a keratitis the exam is out of pocket. I politely tell her I think shes miss understanding what Im saying, that I get I will pay for my exam out of pocket, I am talking about the actual glasses/ contacts. I try once again to explain the option to apply the $75 towards other eyewear and she, interrupting me again, said something to the effect that Id still have pay a $39 fee on top of the contacts. at this point I have not clue what shes talking about so I say so the $75 makes no difference in the cost of the contacts? she says I have to pay out of pocket unless I have keratitis.So, again, shes back on the exam when Im just trying to find out if instead of getting glasses I can pay for a contact exam and apply the $75 towards my contacts or if I should just take the free glasses even though I dont need them and pay for my contacts completely out of pocket. I ended up thanking her and hanging up frustrated because it is not hard to close your mouth and politely listen to your customers questions instead of talking over them in such a condescending manner.TL;DR- listen to all the negative reviews and save yourself a headache, go elsewhere.

Using my husband’s account to write this review. I had the best experience at the Mishawaka, IN location with your sales rep Dusty! He was so helpful in introducing me to the price matching program for my contacts and was able to help me utilize my insurance benefits I didn’t realize I had. Even got a free pair of sunglasses as part of the deal! He was so helpful. Highly recommended!

The exam went great, Excellent technology and Dr was professional. The staff up front are condescending and rude, I was’t interested in any of their frames and they clearly just wanted me to buy something to spend my “free” insurance money. Right now their website literally says “your medical benefits are about to expire” - clearly just a money grab.

Incredibly rude staff.I walked in (yes it was close to closing time and I was fully aware) with the intention of asking a question. Before I could open my mouth the guy goes you are aware we close soon, right?. So, that was my first issue. Then I proceed to walk over to the Tom Ford section of glasses (which is why I came to this store in the first place) and the same guy goes you do know those are our most expensive glasses, right? as if I didnt have the means to afford them! I was completely appalled and walk out. Wont be going back. Very disappointing.

Wonderful staff, great new testing equipment that makes it a breeze, and Dr. Gifford was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. The selection of glasses was better than expected and we had great assistance in the process. Last but not least, the cost was accurate and turn around time for a new prescription is short. So glad we decided to try someplace new.

Terrible. All the way around! 1 star because 0 stars isnt an option. Was lied to about my contacts being delivered. Called to ask why Im waiting for 1.5 months and got a story about shipping to wrong address. So I was told they were re-ordered and given an expectation date of arrival. After another 1.5 months I called again, was told a delivery date that they were shipped but it was a lie. After digging into issue found the contacts have been on back order for 3 months and I was just getting the run around. Then the customer service sucked on top of it. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

From reading other reviews I honestly couldnt understand how anyone could be rude here. Lorilee spent an hour with me getting my insurance figured out. My prescription transferred from an other clinic and helping me pick out my glasses. She was so terrific and polite to me. Then at the end Shentria and another girl came. Over to help me decide between two and we found our contender with their help. We all then talked and got my insurance figured out and an exam setup. Best experience Ive had in a long time! Thanks again. This was after visiting two other clinics who didnt really give much notice to my presence unlike this place! Would recommend to anyone :)

My previous visit was not great. My last visit however WAS great. Pretty quick, Dr. was friendly and knowledgeable, good selection of frames. Don’t love that you have to order them and they take quite a while to get, like 3 weeks, but the visit and the business was awesome.

Compared to other reviews written here, I understand that I’m not the only one being really upset with the overall customer service of this store. Weather the impolite welcome, the annoyed nurse or the intolerable cashier who just offered me the highest price option possible, this store seemed to be driven by disrespectful and rude staff (doctor excluded). However the main reason that encouraged me to write this review was an invoice I received two month (!!!) after paying and picking up my glasses. When the manager finally called me back, she was not able to explain the reason for this (supposedly) outstanding amount. When I kept asking for a detailed explanation, she raised her voice,told me she will write it off since she doesn’t want to argue with me and then hang up on me.Well, I guess you can write me off your client’s base as well!

Scheduled an application using online service, did not receive the confirmation as it stated. So, followed up with phone call. After being on hold for 10 minutes I hung up. Had better service when they were C&B. Its too bad because Dr. Albert is really good. But, I think Ill go elsewhere.

Awful customer service! Made an appointment for my husband a week in advance. Show up 15 min. early to be told by the lady (very short/bald head) that Dr. isnt in today. Then hear a bunch of excuses as to why we werent called. Although they claim they called everyone. She was sitting there doing absolutely nothing. She could have even called me this morning before I went. There is really no reason for their lack of customer service.

Maybe the worst customer service Ive ever seen. I walked in and was completely ignored for 15 minutes, despite the fact that that I was trying on some of their most expensive frames and there was at most one other customer. The guy at the reception desk never acknowledged me and another dude *right next to where I was trying on frames* just kept staring at his computer, saying nothing, studiously avoiding eye contact. They have a great selection of designer frames and Id have purchased a new pair of glasses from them if theyd paid the least bit of attention. As it is, they lost a big sale. Do what I ended up doing. Find a frame you like, take a picture of it and *buy elsewhere* from someone who actually wants your business.

I could not be more disappointed with them and would strongly urge anyone to go elsewhere for prescription eyeglasses. One of the more expensive places to purchases glasses; but to have to wait three weeks for my glasses to come in was totally unacceptable. The sales staff at the local store on Main Street in Mishawaka were courteous at all times;but were unable to explain why there was such a delay in my glasses coming in. My credit card was promptly charged the total amount for these glasses; but still no glasses! Had I known how long this would have taken when I first met with the salesperson I would have certainly said No, Thank you and gone elsewhere to get my prescription filled for less money and for much less of a wait time.

If you are truly having eye issues this is not the place to go. The staff, polite as they may be, seemed to have zero clue as to how anything was done there. The most disappointing part of the visit was the smug, very young doctor that flat out told me he didnt know what my issue was and said ...its probably allergies. He then rushed me off with no answers and sent me back to the clueless staff. I then went to a real doctor who immediately knew the issue and treated me for my eye condition. You will be best served avoiding Ossip. It is unfortunate that I am forced to give them at least 1 star.

Ive been coming to ossip for years and just received a bill for $100 for 4 months ago I called and asked why I got this bill the girl on the phone didnt know what the codes meant so she was going to have someone call me back my insurance pics of glasses 100% And my exam. That was my first problem my second problem is my kids have also been going to the same place and I always schedule a 3:30 appointment but their new policy is if its a child and has to be in the morning so now theyve lost both my kids and myself

Exam went well. However, I go to pick up my glasses and they switch the frames and added a thick lens ? Prescription not that strong! The optician reported the glasses I picked out were COACH- was not the case when I got there. Fraud...will be watching to make sure they dont bill insurance.

Have gone to Dr. Albert for over 30 years, but this years visit was my last. $336 for an annual checkup? Thats ridiculous. No eye clinic is worth that kind of money. That did NOT include any contacts or glasses. 9/11/18 Apparently, these people never read their reviews. Just got a call telling me I need to schedule an appointment! Has hell frozen over? Because thats when Ill be back.

Very unprofessional and rude..roads were so bad.. there were 3 accidents ..we were 5 min late due to accident that i couldnt pass ..my. daughter called were 5 minutes away due to slippery ice roads and were in a middle in a accident ..associate Shelly was very unprofesional and rude..im from Texas and my husband from Wyoming this is the rudest inprofessional facility employees ive seen..I wouldnt and wont get no one to come here..any recommendations were else i can take my daughter to see another eye doctor..

Horrible service, took 4 weeks to get my glasses, no one knows anything and they call you and have no idea what they are talking about, service sucks. Wont being going back, considering there are other places that get your new glasses to you in 1 hour, at half the price and better customer service!

Terrible experience. Was not told that the machine thats apart of the exam was optional and not covered by insurance completely. Waited over 3 weeks for my daughters glasses and they dont transition like theyre supposed to (they are sunglasses NOT glasses). So Im sure this will take another 3 weeks. Will continue to use Costco in the future. Never going back.

The only good thing in that place was the Dr I saw. I am a disabled person and i am on both Medicare and Medicaid. When I called to make the appt., the first thing I asked if they took my ins and was told yes. They never asked for either number so I stupidly assumed everything was good. After waiting for two months I go in all excited looking forward to being able to see clearly again. Boy was I in for a surprise. Anyway the first person I had to deal with was very rude and very uncaring. If I wld have treated ppl like that I wld have been fired. She talked so low it was softer than a whisper so I had to keep asking her to repeat what she said on many different occasions. After a few different tests she takes me to a different room where I waited for about 10-15 minutes and in walks the Dr. So very different than that woman was. Hes an older gentleman who was warm, kind and used just the right tone of voice. You cld tell he loves his profession unlike the other person who acted like she was just putting her time in so she can get her paycheck. Anyway, everything was starting to go good when they told me to sit down and they would bring me the trays (2) of glasses. Well I found a pair that I really liked without someone there to help me out (the same woman) and when she comes back she informs me that they dont take my kind of Medicaid. Now I have been wearing glasses for a while now and never had a problem. When she told me that, in the same breath informs me that I have to give them $39.00 to get the glasses prescription. What a scam they have going. They should have taken my Medicaid number and ran it (it only takes a minute or 2) then they wouldnt have wasted my time and now money. I just would have gone someplace else. Just remember, if you go to OSSIP (the old c&b), take lots of money with you because you are going to pay one way or another.

I add my daughter on my insurance some how St .Joseph had a problem with there computer a week before but I had already made the appointment a couple week before so a lady name Shelly for Ossip calls me to confirm my appointment I asked her did my daughter name shows she was added Shelly said yes but they have your daughter as the Primary holder I said no it me she said I will change it so I asked was my daughter good to go she replied yes only to drive from the southside of south bend to mish and the cashier tell me my daughter name is not added when the cashier asked Shelly about it she had loss of memory and I talk to her the day before ..Second time burnt by them Thanks but no Thanks

Very terrible customer service. I paid for my glasses of pocket so my insurance would cover my contact. Spent another 50 dollars at Gross-nickel for a test to measure the thickness of cornea and they still havent ordered my contacts. If i would rate them no stars i would.
