Brought both cars here on a few occasions and was very pleased with the work done. They were prompt with diagnosis and estimated cost and time. The repairs were accurate and effective and my cars were returned promptly, in spite of what seemed to be a very busy garage. SO upset & disappointed in this place, thought I would bring my car to a big shop where I felt they would find the issue with my car with no problem. I paid to get my power steering fixed they were supposed to replace my rack & pinion, power steering pump and belt and the lines. I ended up having to bring my car right back because the power steering still did not work he said I would have to pay again because THEY didn’t replace a line they were supposed to replace in the first place. THE MAN AT THE DESK ALSO LIED AND SAID I BLEW MY HEAD MOTOR GASKET. My head gasket was not blown AT ALL, all I had to do was replace a $5 hose that was leaking my coolant. (Which he never mentioned). He priced me for $2000 to fix “everything” wrong with my car, including my major problems & minor so I agreed. i came to pick up my car after I had already paid he then tells me I have a oil leak as well that It would cost me $1000 more, i was completely shocked because he told me he was fixing EVERYTHING. Never even mentioned the oil leak, He had me pay for $300 censors when I could have been paying for my oil leak instead not censors that could have waited. So shocked that a shop this big will still take advantage of people’s money in the middle of this pandemic. I will NEVER come back to this place, you CANNOT trust these people with your car and definitely not your money. They will blatantly get over on you. Find a shop that is actually trustworthy cause this one is NOT it!

My Jeep stopped on me with no warning. I had it towed to AutoMax reluctantly. I dealt with AutoMax for years but the last year or two the work and prices were not up to par. To my surprise, when I got there It was under New Management. Blake the Manager, is the epitome of great customer service. He diagnosed my Jeep and told me what was exactly wrong with it. Not only did he tell me, he took me to the shop area to show me (now thats a rarity) which gave validity to his diagnosis. I was pleasantly suprised. Under previous management I was told what the problem was and given variated prices to get it fixed. Blake told me the cost which was complimentary and better to what the cost would be elsewhere, (I called around). He repaired my Jeep and upon my request did a full assessment to avoid other possible issues later. Again, the work was extensive but amicable and within reason. If you need repairs with a trustworthy car repair shop (which is rare) I highly recommend Auto Max. Blake will certainly take care of you. It has 5 stars from me because, they were efficient, trustworthy and have great customer service. Oh by the way they have a finance company to work with you if needed. I opted out of it but its there if needed.

Called the day before for a quote, and went in first thing the next morning. The old man that worked there gave me a mean look, stood there and not saying anything and he took some time to answer one question. Then tells me that hes not going help me in the most rudest tone. My money and I went somewhere else. Wasted my time and gas to be treated with disrespect.

Kept my moms car for 6 months and at a certain point refused to communicate and manager ( Kelly ) is rude and quite abnoxious. And on top of that the invoice doesnt add up. Another case of mechanics taking advantage of customers who just want their vehicle running and make it to their doctor appointment and make groceries. Folks If youre in the mood to throw money away, give Auto Max a call and ask for Kelly.

I came in for a simple oil change, as I was about to leave auto max I look under my car and I had a big oil leak that was never there when I came in . These people would try to get you for your money they are not trust worthy. (They do bad business) I will never bring my car back here. You been warned

This is a neighborhood business me and my husband both try and support the area however beware of this place... owner is very unreliable we had are car there for 4 days just to do a diagnostics test which should take mayb 2 hours.. both me and my husband had called up there 2 to 3 times a day for 4 days to find out what was wrong with it never updated us on it finally just went and got the car and left... no reason for this.. unacceptable bad business

I was having problems with my truck. I dropped my vehicle off on the busiest day of the week Saturday. I got a a call within a hour with the diagnosis. The gentleman ensured me that it would be ready by the end of the day. And it was! Needless to say,I have a new repair shop. Excellent customer service and very knowledgeable.

I towed my 1970 Chevelle SS to the shop for service and an inspection, so I could have my new vehicle registered. The customer service was exceptional good as they kept me up to date on the status of the repair.The Manager (Kelly) and the Head Mechanic (Richard) were very great at explaining the process of the repair. My car been here since 8:30 am just to get tires rotated and balanced,its now after 12 noon. I was the second car here,I called at 11:30am Josh said we got one more tire to go so I came up here and they only got one tire on the car. Never again and I will be back to speak with a manager!!!! Pissed off

Stay away, took car and co would not fix or honor warranty on defective job. 3rd time attempting to fix...i gave up and paid someone else to fix w/o a refund from automax. STAY AWAY! I wish i could give no stars!

I been taking my care to this shop for years with the same issue, each time Im told to fi fixed something different, for the same issue, n my truck is still not working, I dont know anything about a car, I trusted n them to fix, I said Ive $2000 over Three for the same issue n my truck still not working, now the want another$900 to fix the same issue

Worst experience everI brought my car to Auto Max on April 29th. Since I knew I was walking in on a Saturday I didn’t have a problem with the three hour wait time, thanks to Hulu and unlimited data. I was told there was nothing mechanical wrong with my car and that it was PCU problem and I would just need it reflashed and the lights would go off. However the person to do that worked at other shops and he wasn’t available that day. Fine, I arranged to get off work early that following Wednesday and be there at 5:30 to have the service done. The front desk guy seemed so nice and assured that I paid cash in advance for the service.Wednesday rolled around and I rushed over to the shop after work…to find the reflasher guy was running an hour late. “It’s Houston” I thought, “traffic is always horrible this time of day”. So once again, with Hulu’s help I hunkered down at waited. My car was finally ready around 7:00 PM and to my delight both lights were off! I pulled away from the shop…and my tire pressure light came back on immediately. I came right back and the front desk guy hurried to help and put air in my tires and the light went off. I asked why, if it had been reflashed, the light had come back on and he said it had nothing to do with the PCM, the tires just needed air…why this was not done initially on Saturday was beyond me, but I headed home just happy all lights were off.Less than 12 hours later as I was driving to work the check engine light came back on. I called the shop. And called and called and called. Despite the advertisements that it opens at 7:00 AM, my calls were not answered until around 8:30 AM. The front desk guy, once again very cheerful and knowledgeable sounding said that sometimes the reflashes “don’t stick” and that’s usually why people will leave their cars with them so that the mechanics could drive it a bit in case this happened. I don’t think that the shop guy realizes that we live in Houston and not somewhere with ample and convenient public transportation because he acted as though 80% of the people that came through the shop were leaving their cars for servicing without any inconveniences. However, this was not an option for me.So fine, I said. I’ll bring in my car the following Friday, leave it overnight for additional testing but I needed it by 1pm on Saturday. I had not budgeted time for the job not to be done correctly in the first place. The front desk guy said he’s pretty sure it was the same problem and not to worry they would run the tests.I bring it back Friday and called early Saturday morning. They’d run the diagnostic and found the same problem. However, once again, there was not a tech available to do the reflashing. Now why, if the same problem was suspected and it was known that I had time constraints, had an alternative tech not been secured to finish the work before 1pm on Saturday is beyond me. So I agreed to bring my car back AGAIN the following Monday.Monday I was running about 10 minutes late and called the shop to let them know, only to be told that the front desk guy was now feeling under the weather, so much so that he’d forgotten to confirm with the reflashing guy to come today and the guy would be unable to make it.At this point I’d had enough and asked for my money back, only to be told that since I’d paid cash he didn’t have enough in his register and I would still have to come back to get it. He said he would have a tech lined up for the next day and the job would be done.But today I checked with the Better Business Bureau and that particular shop has three complaints for basically my same reason- shoddy diagnosis and unnecessary work that didn’t fix the problem. So today I’m going back for what I hope is the last time to get my money back. I’ve experienced some horrible service in my life, but this ranks right up there.Long story short, don’t waste your time or money here.
