On a long, hot, drive from Phoenix to Oregon in July, our A/C stopped blowing cold. After calling around to various unknown repair shops, the only one that offered for us to bring the car in right away was J & W. Rafael got to our car in about an hour and found a slow leak in the system. He recharged the system for us and gave me instructions to my Phoenix mechanic about the problem. we were on our way within 3 hours with cold A/C. I am very very pleased with the work he did and I felt the cost was quite reasonable. In fact, I feel we were lucky to find J&W automotive. I recommend J&W to anyone.

J&W has always done a fantastic job of working on my vehicles over the years. Raphael takes the time to explain and go over the problems and solutions to our vehicle repairs. I have been burned by a number of repair places, J&W is the only place I will bring a vehicle now.

Great place to take your vehicle Rafael and the other mechanics really do a good, clean, thorough job and are very knowledgeable Ive been to several shops in modesto and they do a horrible job no pride in their work and overcharge.you wont get any of that at j&w I recommend this shop to anyone they also work on classic cars which is the reason I chose this shop if only I had found them sooner then my other installs wouldnt look so bad

Had an electrical problem. Took it to Rafael. He diagnosed the problem. Found out that it was the same part I had replaced. I did not understand that it would fix the problem. Apparently my part was refurbished. The part he baught was brand new from dealership. The new part fixed my electrical issue. Even though I was frustrated that the part I baught did not work. I was glad that the new one did. Even though it came at a much higher price for the part. Thank you Rafael.

First time to take my car here and I was pleasantly surprised when I called and was invited to bring my car in same day. Then the time Rafael took and his firm belief in explaining/educating his customer on what needs to be done by showing it, I am very happy to have chosen his shop and will bring my car back whenever I need to. Hes personable and very knowledgeable, fair priced which matters to me also as Im retired with fixed income. I dont know how this place has such good reviews. Maybe theyre all his friends? I got completely scammed by J&W. I bought an AC recharge on Groupon for this place and right from the start Raphael starts saying it might be something else, a leak, a bad compressor, but I responded saying well I paid for a recharge, so youre going to top off the Freon at least right (even if there are other things that are wrong)? He said yes, but that is not what happened. Long story short, he said I needed to replace the switch and relay for another $100+ (which you can check to see if theyre working in 5 minutes without buying new parts first- my husband checked them by following a YouTube video and they were both fine). Raphael said that I had enough Freon so he didnt need to put any in but that something else was wrong and he couldnt figure it out.Well, we took my car to Midas for a second opinion, and they did an ac diagnostic. Their finding? I didnt have enough Freon. Surprise, surprise, they topped off my Freon and now my AC works! Im so mad I got scammed at J&W. We talked about our kids and he knew that I was driving around two little ones in 100+ degree weather without an ac working, and he still scammed me by not putting in more Freon (aka an ac recharge, when that is exactly what I paid for).Was it because Im a woman and he thought he could take advantage? Who knows. One thing for sure is I will never frequent this business again and will warn everyone I know.

Came by to ask for a simple diagnostic, the man we were talking to briefly answered our question and then escalated things into telling us he loves to fight? Not sure how that’s relevant to getting a diagnostic for my car? Very confused. Man seemed a little strange and senile, I understand it’s hot today but no need to take aggressions out on the potential customers. Wish it gave me an option for no stars!

Took my car in for check up which cost to do and after the guy said it needs new wheel bearing hub which he did after driving around town a couple months the same problem begins which begins to wear the tires and took it in to find out it could be the bearing or another thing but he needs to charge for another which he supposedly did the first diagnostic to find what needed to be changed. I asked can you will you cover the bearing but he gave me excuses about only 1 year warranty is over etc which I asked what brand of bearing did he use which didnt resolve anything. For what I paid for wasnt what I got its more like I just threw money away. Id be very carful going to people who say leave it here Id rather find a mechanic who can do it while Im there watching making sure Im getting a good brand of equipment that have good warranty that will cover early unexpected repairs or the dealership they cant really scam you just charge a lot but at least the have good warranty.

Horrible Experience!! I had made an apt for 9am & the guy that owns the place (Rafael) wasn’t there to service my car but he booked an apt. So I left it there any way because the guy that was there said he would be there inna bit. 3 hours go by & my car is in the same spot! (Rafael) NEVER showed up!! Car never got serviced. If i was able to rate only a corner of a star I would have..

I took my car here before for a alignment, the dude didnt know how to adjust a upper control arm . Ripped me off for $60, but I wasnt tripping feel bad for them tbh. New edit update: if you showed the problem then why charge $60 for not doing any work?? Smh unprofessional.

Experienced but expensive for a simple spark plug change I was charged $80 for a 10 minute job and I had to buy the parts ... never coming backEdit I didnt know anything about cars I just took advice I felt taken advantage when I look back at it
