Service was HORRIBLE and VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! This had my bike almost three months for a job that only takes 20 to 25 minutes to get done and still wasn’t able to fix it. I DO NOT recommend this guy to ANYBODY. Worst service ever in my life. All’s I needed was my sprocket changed. Here are the photos below…

Joe is an honorable person. I left my bike for over 2 weeks, with intermittent responses as far as how or if the bike would be repaired due to the heat, lack of staff and other obligations; however, I can honestly say, the owner called me back every time I called and even called me back one evening to follow up. I was hoping for new tires; but time did not permit. I picked up the bike today and I appreciate the honesty; but I do not know what was actually repaired. I do think if he gets more staff, this will be a very reasonable place to take your bike at a reasonable cost. Thank you Joe.

I could not find anyone in Selma to fix up an old bike so I picked them out of the hat! It was so much better than I had hoped for! Because I was fixing the bike for a homeless man they gave me a better bike than I had! These guys could not have been any nicer or willing to help! Also, I didn’t have to make another trip back to pick it up! Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

After a month of waiting for our son’s bike to be repaired, we decided to collect the bike and go elsewhere since this owner stated he was too busy with his full time job. At one point, he stated he needed a three day weekend after he had already told me he was going to work on the bike since it was something minor. But, everybody needs a break sometime so that was understandable.He’s a very personable person but doesn’t follow through with what he says. We were also told the bike was kept under cover but when we collected the bike today we found the chain and different places rusted from being uncovered and left out in the rain. Personable guy but just doesn’t seem to care or have the time to do what he said he would do. Very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend.

Stopped by for a tune up to make sure my bike was ready to ride after being in storage for a few years. He looked it over and 10 min later told me it was good. Didn’t need anything done to it and it was ready to ride. Didn’t charge since he said he really didn’t do anything. Hard to find anyone like this anymore. I will be back if I ever need anything done.

We took two of our kids’ bikes here. Both were fixed and my husband told me he took our oldest daughter’s bike for a ride today and couldn’t get over how smooth it shifts. Not to mention it was incredibly cheap for the service. Super impressed!

Joe is a one of a kind. Operating out of his home, he delivers top quality repairs at extremely reasonable prices, and rapid pace. He was able to perform a very involved tune-up in less than two hours without a rush fee.I have brought him two mountain bikes and two road bikes at this point. Each with varying degrees of issue. He quickly addressed any problems, thoroughly explained how he would address it, and set expectations on cost and timeframe (usually within 24 hours). He had my grandchildren bikes for several weeks...chains rusted...tube hanging off one of them ...didnt swap tires off old bike that I left with him to put on the one with the hole in it ....we were VERY DISAPPOINTED.....how could you have a heart to let down children who really depended on you to fix them...

5 Star Review of “Your Local Bike Repair Shop”:I made my first call to the bike repair shop and spoke with Joe who was very courteous and gave me good advice about the possibility of getting my old Schwinn 10 speed back in good operating order. I asked him about the need for new tires and tubes, and about general tune-up and cleanup. Joe suggested that the old tires and tubes may still be good for further use but he needed to inspect the bike to verify this. We discussed pricing and Joe pointed out that these prices were negotiable. I got his location and hours of operation and told him that I would purchase new tires and tubes and would bring everything by his home based shop.When I arrived at Joe’s house, Joe and his associates immediately removed the bike from my truck and started to inspect it and make suggestions, the first of which was that the old front tire was in good condition and had a lot of miles of use remaining if I preferred to continue using it.We negotiated a price, and I left for about an hour to take care of other business. When I returned, the bike was ready to go and was loaded onto my truck. Joe told me that he adjusted the rear brake tension and adjusted some of the spokes in the rear wheel in order to eliminate wobble. They had done a thorough cleaning and I was, and still am, very satisfied with the entire experience. I do not recommend this business. First trip to them seemed great. Just a basic tune up, gear shifting issue, and front brake issue. Bike was done quickly and I was ready to give the bike shop 10 stars. As soon as I got the bike home the shifting issue came back, but I could still ride without much issue.Took it back to give them a chance to make it right and to get the brake pads changed out. This was late to middle of September. After several delays, issues, and unreturned phone calls I have to just show up at the bike shop (a random house) to get my bike back. It had been there for close to 1.5 - 2 months at this point. The brake pads were installed, but the gear issue is still there. Also when I got the bike back it was obvious it had been left out in the elements as there is now rust on my shifters and brakes.If you have a high-end bike I would go somewhere else.

Awesome experience! Called this morning and left a message. Joe called me back within 5 minutes. Made arrangements to drop off my daughter’s scooter this afternoon. Took Joe about 15 minutes to make all adjustments while I waited. Not only did he fix the scooter, he took the time to explain what was wrong and what to look for. Excellent customer service! The guys Working on the bikes have no idea what they’re doing. They will do what they can to get you out the door. They don’t mind compromising safety. They will put old Jenkee parts on the bike just to get you out the door. They are unable to handle simple jobs such as adjusting brakes. I would not recommend you waste your money with this company. If you do you’ll end up going somewhere else to have them repair the issues they created

Dropped off my wife’s 12 year old Schwin cruiser. Not only is the bike in like new working order, all the rust, chrome spotting and grime of sitting in a garage untouched for 6 years are gone. Your Local Bike Repair Shop went above and beyond with the bike and we now have a new looking, smooth riding bike for cruising along the river.

Joe is very professional and competent. He charges a very reasonable rate and does not attempt to up sell you on stuff you don’t need. He usually gets it done in a day. I have had two bikes repaired with no problems. He does charge up front for a basic tune up, $25, and will call you before he makes any other repairs. Shoot him a call. I highly recommend him.

They repaired my rear flat tire and replaced the tire itself when they discovered it had worn through to the cord in spots. It was quick and fairly priced.

Great experience! I messed up my bikes gears, trying to tune them myself, on a Sunday afternoon. Was able to take the bike straight down to YLBR and get them fixed up perfectly in ten minutes flat!

Update.... The Business Closed ☹️Fast friendly service, these guys are great, they had our bikes up and going within an hour. I was pleasantly shocked when I found out how much they were charging me, it was like 60% cheaper than their competitor charged me last year. Not only were they cheaper and faster, they did more and were way closer to get to. :)

Do not recommend at all. My chain kept slipping and popping. Sent it off to this guy and took him a while to return the bike after paying him $40. When it came back, the chain kept slipping still, so he asked for $35 more and took out again. He changed the gear shifter and made my 6 speed bike a 7 speed bike. I waa Im with this, but the chain was still slipping. He promised me that at no extra cost, hed order another party and come back to my house and fix it. Its been 2 weeks and he hasnt answered my calls or text messages. Hes been avoiding me ever since and my bike is worse than ever!
