My experience started out WONDERFUL!! They were very nice, respectful, and helpful. But in the past year...especially during this pandemic (20,21), I must say that I cant WAIT to be finished with them, and will not recommend anyone to them. I am not a negative person, but it has become too much. Let me start by saying I have ALWAYS made my payment on time in these 2 years...sometimes I paid months in advance. Never an issue with payments. You would think that this would earn you a little confidence and understanding as a great customer. But when I ran into certain issues due to the pandemic, I was treated like a 2nd class citizen by the payment techs, insurance department, and customer service departments. I was truly disappointed in the fact that even as a loyal and faithful customer, when I needed their help the most, I was treated like someone who was late every month and tried to get over on them. Honestly, I could have gotten this same treatment at a 2nd class auto sales shop, and would have gotten more compassion and assistance. Ive invested too much to return it, but I cant wait to be done with it. Also, watch out for the residuals.

Anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from them please know that when you think you paid off your vehicle you havent, and will not receive the title until you pay off the taxes that was not include in your every two weeks car note. They do not add your taxes in the vehicle they probably told me in the beginning but i must have didnt pay it any attention to find out when i finished paying for the car I owed a couple of thousands of dollars in taxes and fees.. So just know when you finish paying for it just be ready to make a payment arrangement with them to pay the taxes on the vehicle because the taxes and fees are not included in your monthly bill.So everyone do not make the mistake I did and did not really listen to them when and if they told me I would be paying the taxes on the car when I finished paying it off, Holmes Motors call it yourResidual.

So far I’ve been okay with Holmes motors and I love my car. besides the fact that when my cars steering stopped working I had to pay them to fix it and I’ve only had the car for 3 months. Also I was told I wouldn’t be able to change my pay date to align with my new work pay schedule. I get threatened about my car getting cut off or taken away from me. Why do that when we are all suffering and going through stuff! I’ve been with companies that let people go months without payment.**Update** Ive had that car for almost 2 years and missed my insurance payment and they came and took my car. I have been nothing but a good customer with holmes motors and they are a complete rip off do not buy a car from this place at all!

After Monday, my husband and I will no longer have any dealings with Holmes Motors. We went to turn in our vehicle and were told that we absolutely can not turn it in today and have to wait until Monday. We were told when we started the lease that it could be turned in with no questions asked. We can not afford it, if anyone is concerned. Our original plan was to buy the car but we simply can not.Moving on, as we were turning in the vehicle, the guy who was writing it up, started to flip out on my husband. We had put excessive miles on the car and the guy was so upset and angry at my husband for this. We understand that we have a lot of miles on the car but no need to yell at my husband for it. He was also speaking in a very condescending and disrespectful tone, as if my husband was a child or something. Im 19 weeks pregnant and this mans behavior was excessively extreme and scary for me.We are going Monday to speak with a manager so we can get out from this lease. I understand that we have put a lot of miles on the car, but why not have a discussion with us to ask why? Why not calmly tell us what we need to do to resolve this horrific act of ours? Why not have some descent customer service skills to properly speak with someone who is already in a pickle?They will be hearing from us on Monday. I will only speak with a manager because apparently this guy who lost his temper with my husband is only a simple salesman. Hence why he could not write up the car for surrender. There is no need to threaten your customers.

Believe me when I say I have no problem complaining when the customer service isn’t up to par. I have been in customer service as a manager for several years. I have always been glad to get negative reviews because that’s how we grew and improved. Although positive reviews are far and few between. I like to write positive reviews when they are due. Holmes Motors deserves a good review. I bought a 2012 Ford Expedition on 11/19/2019. Beautiful vehicle, we got great customer service, the cleanliness was also top notch. On 11/25/2019, I was driving home from work and lost power while driving down the road. The engine light started flashing and totally shut down. I called Kym (sales Rep) immediately the next morning. I figured I would have to get it TOWED to Birmingham (108 miles) plus pay the $100 deductible. This dealership towed it for FREE, charged no deductible, and got us a nicer/newer vehicle the same day. All against what my contract said. This company turned what could’ve been a nightmare into a blessing. They definitely made it right and I really appreciate it. The contract clearly states buyer is responsible to get it to the dealership and pay $100 for any repairs in the first year. I am a dad to five kids and this made me a life time customer.AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I REALLY APPRECIATE EVERYTHING FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Dont use this place. Got a 2017 Hyundai sonata from them one week later its sounding bad. It had no oil in it. Had oil changed new tires put on it and a front alignment done and three more weeks go by and power steering goes out. They refuse to fix. Scammers. Absolutely horrible place.

My husband bought a vehicle from them recently and the customer service was awesome. Even though it’s used the inside material was well kept, very minor stratches as well. The down payment was abit high but it came with so many positives. This is definitely a place to check out if you’re in the process of purchasing a vehicle.

This place is garbage. They sold me a 2017 Toyota Camry and 3 months later the air went out in the car. I call the dealership to let them know. I got rude customer service and they refused to fix it. I took it to a local mechanic shop, they told me I should take it back to the car dealership, the car is to new for the air to go out. Also, the had been wrecked and it would cost 1500.00 to fix it. Unbelievable, they never told me that. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Dont change insurance companies ..for the second time this week my vehicles has been disabled at work where it will be until at least monday I switched insurance companies and they disabled my vehicle tuesday now my payments are auto drafted so they have never been late my insurance is also auto drafted but I changed insurance providers and that same day they disabled my car . I went to the dealership that afternoon the manager was rude from the start and I questioned why they lied when I bought the car last year and said they didnt disable vehicles then we got into an argument today at friday at 5pm they disabled the vehicle again I called and this time they said that my son which I dont have any sons drove my car to the dealership tuesday and he isnt listed on the insurance and they will not restart the car until they review their dealership videos to prove I drove my own car to the dealership and since they say I threatened there employee they are in no hurry to do so and it will be monday or tuesday before they look into it but they also said I will not be credited for the days without my car so I am.clling my insurance company since I have rental car insurance .. also the person who was the dealership with me is my boyfriend. And he drove his own dodge charger at to the dealership and got there before I did he has no need to drive my vw passat ..

Well lets see took my girlfriend there to buy a used car a year ago ... first after 2 months she took the car in for a warranty repair and they refused to honor the warranty because she had put 1600 miles on the car in 2 months their in house warranty states up to 18,000 miles a year before the warranty is voided.. well after a week of arguing and having to call the corporate office they agreed to warranty repair the issue with the horn randomly going off and getting stuck in the on position ..the mechanic couldnt fix it so we had to take it to the vw dealership where we found out the car had had the air bag replaced due to being in a front end collision which wasnt mentioned at the time of purchase and the air bag had not been put in correctly ...now let me say the payments on this car are on auto draft as well as its insurance. Today I switched insurance companies and when my girlfriend got off work her car had been disabled for canceled insurance ...now when we purchased this we specifically asked if they used gps trackers with or without starter interrupters and the sales person said they dont disable vehicles period ..we explained we would not purchase a vehicle thats satellite linked to the Internet with the option to override or disable the vehicle .. and he said he understood that ..so after we found out that it does in fact have this installed we went to the dealership the manager was very rude and ended up getting into a yelling match with my girlfriend .. she also tried to say that the car was purchased as a straw sale by me ..the vehicles not in my name not registered to me and I dont drive it ..she stated she didnt know if it had a starter interrupt without looking at the file . And that she knows its never been in any accident..and even though we dealt with her over the warranty on the air bag ..and vw stated to both us and Holmes motors mechanic what the issue was .. the fact that we pay 420 a month for this 5 year old used vehicles plus 190 a month or its insurance and neither have ever had a late or missed payment. Would make you wonder why this buyer here pay here used car lot is trying to play big brother and chase of customers that actually pay their bills and with all the grey area around starter interrupts we are considering finding a attorney for this one ..we will never buy or recommend purchasing a vehicles from Holmes motors to anyone

At first I was excited to get my new vechile Chevy Cruze but then the process took foreverrrrrr because there was something wrong with the vechile. I drive the car off the lot and then I went hot and was smoking. I had to get my husband to come pick me up and Holmes had to get the vehicle. We went back to Holmes motors and waited for 6 more hours for the issue to be fixed. The person who sold me the vechile was very apologetic about the situation and repeatedly said he was sorry we’ve been waiting so long. I know it wasn’t his fault but that was ridiculous. Once they finally gave me the vechile back a week later the check engine light comes on again and every time I crank the car it smells of gas. I took it to auto zone to find out that it has a code of P0420 which is basically the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. I went to Holmes to find out that they can’t look at my vechile till a week. I explained to the receptionist that I’ve been having problems with the vechile since I got it which by the way has only been two weeks. I asked for a manager the receptionist looked at me with and attitude because I asked for a manager. The manager came out and said he’s book up and there nothing he can do till a week now. My experience has been TERRIBLE!!!!! Then they expect you to pay bi- weekly even while your having issues with your vechile. I work full time and go to school full time it’s hard finding time to go to Holmes and wait for hours FOR A VECHILE IM PAYING FOR. All I wanted was a good car.

Update**** They are more than happy to get you in a car but go back on things they told you when purchasing. I specifically asked if I could make monthly payments or if it HAD to be bi-weekly. The man told me some people do it bi-weekly and some people do it monthly and it didnt matter as long as complete payment for that month was received before the month was up. After the 3rd month, (hassle to go there to make payments bi-weekly and payments on their website charge a fee), I decided to pay monthly. Fourth month went smooth as silk doing it, 5th month, they were in my yard to pick it up! Told me I could get it back by making the payment (one payment! Wasnt behind!) BUT..... I would have to pay their repo fee! They kept it, wasnt getting a dime more from me!!I found the car I wanted online at a different location, in a different state, and they transported it with no problems! Exellent service and very friendly people, would definitely recommend!
