We went here for the first time today. This is a beautiful little bookshop. My beloved bought me a Buddha Charm here to remember the beautiful evening we spent looking at this bookshop and walking on California St. and seeing the Christmas lights in Jacksonville.

Such a great place. Local business and personable staff. Rotating and diverse selection of reading material including classics, new releases, and local history. Perfect first stop for your relaxing vacation in Jacksonville. Its the bookstore you didnt know you needed!

Nice bookstore, Very good selection.I’d suggest only going in when the owner or staff are there. Went in over holidays looking for a specific book. Owners husband was manning the store. I asked for the book, he said we don’t have it. That was the end of the discussion. No further dialogue about did I want to order it, other selections. He sits there on his computer like he’s managing a hedge fund and rarely looks up. He’s of absolutely no use whatsoever.

A lovely little bookstore for all ages. The staff are warm and inviting every time we visit and are happy to offer book suggestions to my 7 year old who always has a million questions. If youre looking for a gift for a book-lover in you life they have tons of little offerings that will bring a smile to their face. At the very least, stop by and check it out; you wont be disappointed.

Great little book store. Dont let the size for you though. They can get any book you want.Unlike Amazon they are real people you can do business with face to face. Its my favorite.

Tried to inquire about the store being open, the owner was standing with the door open having a conversation with someone on the sidewalk and seemed downright annoyed I asked if the store was open. You’re standing there with the door open 🤔 I can’t stand condescending shop keepers. This place will be on my skip list next time I come to Jacksonville OR.

Ugh. Ive been to expensive bookstores with rare books galore, dinky little used bookstores with bargains left and right, and bookstores with only new editions. Ive been to bookstores in the ghetto and bookstores in the richest towns and cities. Ive never experienced a store like this though. The employees were snobby, the books were disgustingly overpriced, and the selection appears to have been chosen based more on potential profit than on whether or not the book is good.

For such a tiny bookshop, this place sure packs in a lot of variety. There are visually striking gift items such as posters and greeting cards, pens and sealing wax kits, necklaces and bookmarks... all tailored to appeal to the reader in us. Yes, it is boutiquey, but in all the right way. There are literate best-sellers and classic novels, travel literature and chapbooks from lesser known poets. The manager will even order a book for you and place an extra one on the shelf if shes intrigued by it. Shes also conscientious in smartest way, setting up a table of fine African-American books in honor of Black History Month and another table for Valentines Day reading! Oh, and one more thing: one of the few places to buy the NYT! Support your local bookstore!

The arrival of Rebel Heart Books changed the entire vibration of Jacksonville. What a blessing to have such a great bookstore owned by beautiful, intelligent people.
