Were spoiled to have the original DQ near our home! Its a special and unique experience w/ a yesteryear flare. Lots of options not available at other DQs, but no burgers (Im totally okay w/ that). Quick service, spacious outdoor seating area, and adequate parking. A tremendous spot to take your kids or grandkids! And it you get Riley as your server, youll get 6-star service w/ a smile 😁

This great historical DQ location is a landmark and staple of downtown Moorhead. Although closed for the season, remember for next spring/summer to the the BBQs!

We need to keep this place in business at any cost. The 12ft Dilly Bar lets you know youre home as well as letting you know youre at the birthplace of the Dilly Bar. What a sweet treat from our little city in Minnesota. Under the giant umbrellas the niceness of everyone really comes out. A stranger will always make room for you. Great customer service and quick. I get the best service at this DQ. I dont know why but they have the best service around in our area. Maybe independently owned DQs offer better service than corporate franchise ones? We are always treated well and our stuff is never served to us a sloppy mess like some of their other stores. Ive been coming to this DQ for well over 55 years now, and they are still as awesome as ever! My Grandma used to send me with a dime! And I had to split the dime with my little brother! He would get the dilly bar and I would have a Mr Malty! You can still find them both here, and in this day they are still a pleasure! Bring your grandchildren and start a family tradition. 😀

This is the home of the Dilly Bar and doesnt disappoint. The 10 foot Dilly Bar statue with Moorhead Minnesota behind is a must have photo op! The line was very long, but disappoint was streamlined and the staff served the 9 of us quickly, accurately, and friendly by alimited staff. Definitely recommend even if theres a long line

Dont be fooled! Always looks like a long line but these people have a system and the line goes quick! Plus, you can get all the old school treats at this place! Its not a chill and grill. Its three dairy queen we grew up with!

This is a Moorhead icon, and worth the wait to get your favorite Royal treats and some items that have left the menus at other locations, but can still be found here. Match 1st every year sees a lounge up of people regardless of the weather, and its worth it. The staff they hire always make it an enjoyable experience, and keep us coming back again and again.

I am very content with the service from EVERYONE at this Dairy Queen, including the owners. I accidentally emailed them one day and received a response within hours of the email being sent to them (they replied at midnight). The staff are just as sweet and courteous. I did get a funny look for the sundae that I ordered, but thats ok lol. I like to be unique. The food is good quality and you get what you pay for here. They also have memorabilia that you can purchase along with a giant dili bar to photograph for more memories. This is an all around great place that I will continue to return to. Thank you!

Classic DQ. So glad I live in Moorhead. Love this place. I go as often as I can. All the nostalgic menu items. I relive my childhood everytime I go. They have the classic raspberry sauce for sundaes and shakes, to die for. I highly recommend the home of the original dilly bar. Come take your picture by the giant size version standing in the patio seating area. Absolutely love this place!!

Great place, great people. I enjoy the Nostalgia of walking up to the outside window to place my order. It gives it that old-fashioned feel, instead of the sterile just another restaurant feel. Im going to miss my cherry dipped cones until spring. Nobody does it like these guys.

The food is great, burger joint, food. Tasty but the service is really top notch, the ladies do a great job . I take my clients there and they love it, oh and ice cream is pretty good

Really confusing on where to go once youve ordered?? If there was like a designated little area on where to wait for your order that would be good. Its awkward with how close the delivery windows are and when its busy its hard to hear them call for you. I also ordered a cake shake and I dont think there was any cake in it?? Maybe it was well blended or they heard me wrong, I dont know.

If I could give this DQ 10 stars, I would. They have hands down THE BEST Dairy Queen treats in the area. My go-to is a blizzard, but if its your first time here, get a Dilly Bar.This is the location that invented the Dilly Bar, and they still hand dip them in the original way. They also are still able to serve classic treats that no other location can serve due to some loopholes in their franchise agreement.Seriously, stop by, get a pic with the massive Dilly Bar statue, and eat some ice cream... even if you have to go out of your way.

Have gone to the DQ on 8th and main in Moorhead for 55yrs and has been getting better and better, we all have to go right now!!!wonderful people there.

Very friendly staff great ice cream they do have everything that has ever been made in the past but they couldnt make my chocolate Rock because they had no almonds but they were very happy to alternate using peanuts. The serving sizes were big and the prices were lower than any other Dairy Queen weve gone to. We will definitely be back there again and again.

Best DQ in the entire U.S. It is like traveling backward in time 30 years. All the classic treats you remember with the original formulation plus the modern menu as well. Only open from March through October as it is one of the old style outdoor walk up counters.

An amazing, historical, and friendly ice cream shop with an insane number of items to choose from. It has pretty much all DQ flavors of ice cream and blizzard as well as many discontinued items. It is also the original location that invented the Dilly bar.I highly recommend you to go to this place anytime its warm outdoors.

Best ice cream in the city

Um I love this place. On the first few days of opening, it has suuper long lines but theyre always well prepared. They have OG stuff like Curly Shakes, and Jack and Jills, but also keep updated on new deals and stuff like that. They have limited food but thats ok because the hot dogs SMACK. :) I love it here.

I love this place. I live in West Fargo ND but would still travel here for my ice cream. The Dairy Queens in ND are no match. I cant even take a star away for not being open all year since they more than make up for it when they are open. Treats with custom toppings... Delicious!

Best Dairy Queen out there!

Service was good, but my blizzard was not upside down thick. By the time it got to me it was mostly melted. Someone else on here said it was more of a shake than a blizzard, and thats a good representation.

Had a really good blueberry shake, and was worth the wait. Pretty busy mid day when you would think a lot of people would be working but I guess being close to a college didnt help either. Love the classic menu, definitely will have to go back to try stuff that most DQ no longer carry.

Use to love their Chicken Strip Basket with white county gravy before I had to eat Gluten Free. It was my favorite meal in their menu the only thing I ate there.

One of the original Dairy Queens, if youre looking for unique Dairy Queen treats, this is the one you want. My family lives less than a mile away and we visit here often. Great place!Just a note, they have a limited hot food menu.

Pretty good until I just saw the whole staff leave at 2216 when officially closed at 2200. Cant clean that fast. Also left trash bag from inside on ground outside and outside trash is overflowing

I once heard that this is the highest rated Dairy Queen in the nation, and they may be right. When open there is always a line. Their portions are always bigger than the regular chain stores. Ice cream is delicious. Staff is friendly and wait times (after the order) are pretty reasonable.

This is THE Dairy Queen. I will not go to another. They invented the Dilly Bar for goodness sake. Not only do they keep it classic here, they offer almost any blizzard combination you can think of. They get to bend the rules on what they can make! Go here. Do not hesitate. It will be the best ice cream experience of your life!

Outdoor experience best done during spring, summer, or fall. I enjoy the food, and see patrons request unique variations. Good ice cream and staff. I can still get a raspberry shake here.
