This place is a must visit stop in Anchorage. A long loved establishment known for their dipped cones and chili dogs, among other delicious choices. Their milkshakes are phenomenal with so many flavors to choose from. They also have pineapple Dole whip, another favorite of mine. Founded by a legendary Alaskan family prior to Statehood, the Anchorage Tastee Freez has been a beloved stop for generations. Both past and present ownership has always remained committed to the community, and especially young adults, by creating first job opportunities for many teens. During COVID business has shifted a bit, but they offer call ahead, curbside and walk in service still. Social distancing and masks are a must. While you wait, be sure to check out the history on the walls, the story of this place is Sourdough at its finest.

Stopped by this place while riding rental bikes along the costal trails from Anchorage. Delicious food and good service. Burgers were perfect and my French fries were the best Ive had in a while. Highly recommend!

Affordable prices and surprisingly light French fries -- definitely some of the better ones Ive had in town. At least in late August, they also had several covered tables of outdoor seating -- essential for pandemic dining out, in my book. Most employees also wore masks, correctly.

Not impressed. Ive been coming here for a long time and the staff have gotten worse. I watched while 3 employees just aimlessly wander around leaving food in the window just sitting. And once a cook said something then ONE of the employees decided oh yeah I need to get these orders out.. literally shouldnt have to wait 25 minutes for a single chicken wrap. I love this local place but unless the service improves I dont think I will be back.

Came back to Anchorage to visit family and stopped by here for milkshakes with the kids. This is one of the few places that actually makes milkshakes the way theyre supposed to. Super thick. They had lots of flavors and were willing to mix them for us too. The butterscotch was amazing for a milkshake and the peach was really good as well, tasted super fresh. I love how they actually are a place thatll hire teenagers so they can start working. The place is always clean, sometimes its busy and you wait a little longer, but thats just cuz theyre busy. They got good food, good milkshakes, good Sundays, and the prices arent bad.

I love this place amazing food, the kids working here are very professional and kind what an awesome place to work for starting out in life. FOOD IS AMAZING AGAIN if you havent been here before Go they have EVERYTHING.

Family enjoyed it. I tried the teriyaki chicken burger didnt care for it. Onion rings were good. Korn fritters were decent. Tried ordering a Butterscotch Shake but they heard Butterscotch dipped cone 🤦‍♀️

My daughter (3 y/o) and Is go to place for a quick laid back lunch date. & boy do we come often lol.The menu has definitely expanded over the years and its amazing! The garlic cheese curds are probably her fave (& honestly the best Ive had), and dipping her curly fries in her choc/van swirled cone.Staff is always friendly, and the owner bops around just spreading cheer throughout.Special thanks to anyone whos been here while we were and got to witness my kiddo dancing around to the music for putting up with her free spirit.If youve got kiddos, dont forget your quarters for the infamous gumball machine!

Well well well, they don’t call it Tastee for no reason! And the ice cream is the bomb too!! I got the bacon burger and a shake. It was delish!!Also, the Corn Fritters are fantastic!

This place is packed with ppl, so its obviously a local favorite. My order was given to someone else, so I had to wait back in line for them to remake it, and ended up waiting 30min just for a bananas Foster sundae. Inside is really hot and stuffy, so better to wait and eat outdoors. Surprisingly for AK, the soft serve is so soft, it is melting and dripping down the cone by 1st bite/lick.

Great atmosphere, feels like nothing has changed in here since the 90s. Plenty of staff working, who all know their job and are working. Every thing over ordered has been read back and cooked correctly consistently. Clean store. Cant reccomend enough.

Seen this place online randomly and decided to give it a try. Fed the whole family for $100 and all 5 kids loved the food. All the food was labeled with is a huge help. Seriously no one complained. Cant wait to try the banana split. Will definitely be coming back.

50/50 on service. Food and freezies deserves the three star. First occasion friendly welcome and prompt order. Second occasion long wait time, did not let us know the freezies were being made and had me wait while they were in the freezer for the next 20 minutes. Left a sour taste in my mouth, but will try again next time with more communication on my part.

All of the food was wrong except tater tots.I ordered NO TOMATOES specifically as my family has an allergy, everything had tomatoes, my burrito was burnt so badly there was no insides left, the Nachos came in a broken taco bowl with tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and no meat!? I was robbed $50! I ordered from here because of the higher ratings, my daughter is fighting in the NICU and Im staying in the Hickel House so $50 is a lot to be wasted.. Im beyond disappointment!

Tastee Freez is kind of similar to Dairy Queen in terms of food offered. I enjoyed their burgers and ice cream, and will definitely be coming back here again. Its a good location if you need something to eat while youre going hiking in one of the nearby trails.

I have always been a fan of TF. I dont think you should have to pay for the sauces. They just started that a year ago. I always get my sauces at the end. I been coming there for more than 20 years. The staff is usually friendly and I usually get the right order.

Margie even convinced me to try tater tots AND SWET AND SOUR over my usual French fries. Boy am I glad I did !! I will never have french fries again YAY TOTS! Great attitude about safety, and flattening the curve. Good food decent price. Customers are asked to put on a mask or take a menu and call in the order if they dont want to wear it. They have some nice looking masks for a good price there as well.

OK food. Dont expect much here.

Oversalted food. Fish flavored fries. Old corn fritter. Used the same fryer for fish and fries/tater tots. Everything tasted like fish. Their french dip was oversalted, combined with a salty au jus, it was inedible. The corn fritters were mediocre, tasted old and premade and frozen, inside was dark as if old, premade and frozen for a long time or undercooked.

Online ordering was great. When we got there the lobby was packed. No way to get 6 ft from everyone and boy did I try. I got a small cone and milkshake. The employee who handed me the cone didn’t have gloves. I tossed the cone as I walked out the door. Love this place but that experience kinda did it for me. Be safe

The food is always hot and fresh. We ordered milk shakes most recently. I had Blackberry, the wife had hot cocoa. The Blackberry had real blackberries blend it in. The hot cocoa tasted just like hot chocolate with marshmallows. Definitely top three milkshakes in town!
