Ive been using Mundelein Auto for about two years now. Rob, Rick and the guys are awesome! Needed them again this week for a ruptured fuel line and added an oil change while I was at it. Just as with my daughters car, the repairs were professionally managed, the turn around time great, and the costs thoroughly reasonable. Their customer service is no nonsense friendly. These guys will always treat you right an value your business. They make sure you know, from the moment they greet you to the moment you leave, that you know they want you as a repeat customer.

We brought our car in for a repair. The car was covered under a third party warranty company, and Mundelein Automotive was super helpful! They handled the warranty claim, we didnt have to lift a finger. Very satisfied with the service and the repair. I didn’t know any of the car repair shops have a Christmas tune up service.Today I brought my Toyota Venza for the break checkup. Mechanics checked it and found 70% and 40% of the pads still remained and the caliper slide were smooth. (They showed me the smooth movement.) Then, they found a slight leak from the engine oil pan bolt that was tightened firmly. Including adding the air in the tires, they made it for free as a Christmas present with a free calendar.I do not know a next customer will receive the same free offer but it was a great Christmas present of 2020 for me. Thank you!Mechanics reputations are very good. Hopefully Mundelein Auto will open an additional shop at Schaumburg or Arlington Hts.

Outstanding service and very honest mechanics! I brought in a car for a pre-inspection prior to purchasing a car from a local dealer and found several potential costly issues. Went in for noise in the suspension and vibration in the steering. They test drove it and told me the front two rims are bent and Charged me to rotate the tires to the back. Took it to another shop and they found a CV joint that was about to fall apart... no bent rims. Got the impression that they didnt want to really bother trying to diagnose the problem.

Go anywhere else. They will take weeks for a repair

These guys are great. Rob, the owner, is a great guy and everyone is very honest. I went in for an oil change and Rob pointed out that my battery was in bad shape. They werent pushy and they didnt try to get me to spend my money by trying to scare me like some other auto repair shops have been known to do. I want to keep my car for a long time, so I got the new battery. Mundelein Auto is a trustworthy shop!

Finally, I found an auto repair shop that I can trust! These guys are great. They’re knowledgeable, honest, and always quote a fair price for repairs; so much cheaper than the dealerships. Also I love the fact that they never give you the high pressure pitch by trying to tell you that “your car isn’t safe to drive unless you do the repairs immediately.” I’ve heard that line so many times from other repair shops and have probably done so many unnecessary repairs because of it. I’ll never take my cars anywhere else for service.

We have been taking our cars to Rob and his guys for many years. They have always been spot on with their troubleshooting and have always done quality professional repairs. Its nice to be able to take your car for basic maintenance or complicated repairs to a local shop that has been in the same location for over three decades. I told them to check the wheel bearing because of the cars noise.They assured me it was a hole in the catalytic converter at 1100 dollars. i brought it back and said please test drive it because its still noisy. They test drove and said it was the wheel bearing, another 400 plus. I dont know if they are dishonest or if the cant troubleshoot a problem, what i do know is they dont back up their work and they seem to always up charge.BEWARE!

This review is long overdue I have taken my van here for an oil change and repairs and I am a very satisfied customer! I am new to Mundelein area and I was not sure where to go and thank God I found them honest mechanics that take pride in their work!

Ive been taking our familys 5 vehicles to Mundelein Auto for many years and have always been satisfied with a prompt diagnosis, speedy repair time (almost always the same day), and reasonable prices. They have a convenient key drop off box so you can leave your vehicle the night before service. You can also pick your vehicle up after closing upon request.

Good service, Honest people, Great Mechanics, and what I like most, they dont rip me off like dealerships do. Highly recommended.

I absolutely love this place and these guys. I took my car to many other shops and wasted hundreds of dollars for them to fix nothing. I took my car to Mundelein Automotive and the guy took my car for a spin and he instantly came back and told me exactly what the problem was and had my car fixed an hour later and changed my oil before I could ask. There is such passion in that place for what they do. ABSOLUTELY GREAT GUYS WITH GREAT SERVICE. I am definitely one happy camper and will use them as my go-to shop.

A few years ago I was trying to break up with my dealership because I felt like I was being ripped off. I heard about Mundelein Automotive from a good friend & co-worker & gave them a try. I havent gone anywhere else since. They do all my maintenance & have seen me thru a few minor repairs. They can always accommodate my appointments & the staff is wonderful. I also great appreciate that they make a point to explain the repairs needed.

My dad has been coming here for over 25 years and now its the only place I take my car even after moving out of town. Rob and his guys are fast and accurate and will make your care safe and sound before you leave.

Dropped my daughters 2002 Infinity for a quote, They called me and said they couldnt give me a quote until they replaced the hood struts that hold the hood open. It is a safety issue for their mechanics. I went a block away and they said they are professionals and have tools for that. Then I went to a oil change place and they had a rod to hold the hood open. They just did a brake job on my wifes car for over $1300 5 days before and lost a customer. If they dont have a simple rod to hold a hood open, they must lack tools.

Im going to be completely honest :I initially came here because I saw great reviews on this shop.Soon after I dropped my car off, I was shocked by how much I wish I hasnt even came here.If you dont want to get ripped off, dont come here. Ill tell you why.When I went in, I informed them that I had a cylinder misfire. I changed one of them myself but i knew that another had gone bad and needed to be changed. Okay, yes I knew that.They told me that they needed to diagnose my car, and that I should leave it there for a few hours (4 hours) and they would call me.I left my car there, went back home, got a call 2 hours later with a quote. They quoted me nearly $1200 to fix my breaks and $170 or so to fix my misfire coil #6.You might be wondering what went wrong?Well, I knew that a break job was simple work, so $1200 was extremely high even though my rear breaks needed a completely new breaking system. Front breaks needed pads and rotors- no big deal. Easy enough. Total work would probably take ... 2-3 hours. But they were charging me for about 6 hours worth of work. Hmmm...So, I kindly said I would pick up my car and fix the breaks myself.They were rude in response, but whatever, I just wanted my car back.I went in, they printed out a paper that told me the repairs i needed and charged me over $70.So... This is why I am so upset. When I went in, I had ready known that I had a misfire. All you need to find that out, is plugging in a computer and it will tell you. It takes less than 5 minutes.They acted like they did a huge inspection on my car, when I knew they hadnt and charged me a nice ticket price of $70 just to tell me what I had already told them.Never coming back to this place again. What a rip off. Please save yourself some time and money and go to a place where you wont be charged up the yang for such a simple thing as telling you what you need done. I went to another shop, where i should have gone in the first place, and paid less than $500 for everything that Mundelien quotes me over $2200 for.Good luck.
