Konnor and Eva served me today, and my eye doctor last month was very professional and positive. I ordered my yearly supply of contacts and even with bad reception (on my end), a screaming child (on theirs) and an exhausted educator (myself) they were calm, professional and found coupons to save me money on my transaction. I have used them for over 3 years and have had positive experiences throughout. Thanks team!

Love this place!! I’ve been a customer since 2015. They do very thorough eye exams, have some of the newest style of glasses to choose from, and the customer service is always great. Some of the bad reviews were from a few months ago when they were short staffed due to covid. Don’t let those reviews scare you off. Target Optical in Mundelein is awesome!

I went in a couple weeks ago, and the girls, and doctor were very helpful. I also took both my parents, in today and again we had a great experience. The doctor understood a little Spanish, and that was a plus. Definitely will be going back to them.

A good value & selection. They accepted our plan & sincerely-nice/personal service for a large chain. Very nice staff!

I made an appointment to get new glasses today. I was told that I would be required to get the expensive retinal scan because of Covid. The Retinal scan was done on my last appointment a little over a year ago and my eye health was fine. This is not necessary as an alternative to the Dr. using a glove to raise your eyelid for 2 seconds. This scan is now mandatory with every complete eye exam. Its just a way of gouging their clients to make up for their losses last year. They lost our familys business today. Hopefully more people will refuse to pay this and they remove it as a mandatory procedure.

I’ve had two different eye insurance plans (UnitedHealthcare and Eye Med) that cover the eye exam, fitting, and offer an additional $150 benefit towards contact lenses. Under both plans Target Optical has charged me for services that my plan covers and now they have a new additional $40 charge for some equipment they use that isn’t covered by insurance. First they said that my plan had a max benefit of $150 towards either the exam and contact lens fitting or towards contact lenses, at which point I told them just to put it towards the exam and I’d get lenses next year. Then they said they misspoke and that fittings aren’t in fact covered at all despite me having my policy right in front of me stating otherwise. From what I read now this has happened to people over and over again and has class action lawsuit written all over it. Total scam. Don’t waste your benefits and go somewhere else.Response to owner’s comment:I said all of these things to you directly while at my appointment. You said you were going to look into the discrepancies and would call me in a couple of days but you never did. So please stop with the “this is concerning, please contact us” stuff, as you were supposed to contact me.

I am appalled at how I was treated today! I asked for a copy for my prescription and Mary was rude. She pretty much said no until I said I was the patient and it is my information.

Horrible customer service. Never was I told my contacts would be mailed directly to my home address, no one confirmed a mailing address with me.. and to this date I still don’t receive my contacts as they were sent to my old address.

I walked-in today to make an appointment. There was only one employee( optic tech) she was all over, rushing herself to answering the phone and tryin to assist another client. I was there for about 10 minutes, enough time. I walked away without making the appointment. I didn’t like it.

Stay away from this provider. You would see someone that you did not take appointment with. You would only hear we dont know for any of your queries. The staff has no idea about any documentation but charging you in full for everything and anything. Expect overcharges and mismatch in claims. Theres absolutely nothing great about this place that I would want to visit again but just pain spending 5 months solving billing issues. I should look for friendly and professional provider/staff/service somewhere else!

OMG answer the phones or get a recording device! You cannot change your appointment by internet, so you must call. In 8 attempts during business hours I had either a busy tone or an unanswered ring. Really poor service since the last time I was here. Ill try Walmart.

Having been an ortho-k patient for many years, I recently decided I wanted to get Lasik and setup an appointment at Target Optical to switch back to contacts/glasses. Dr. Santilukka was extremely professional and patient. She performed a thorough eye exam, explaining my current eye condition. I had developed a slight astigmatism in my left eye, and I didnt even know it! My eyes were also bothering me and Dr. Santilukka informed me they were dry and recommended eye drops. For the contacts, she patiently explained the different types and options and didnt push me to buy the most expensive kind. Instead she suggested a mid-range one which I was appreciative of. Great service and advice, Dr. Santilukka really cares about her patients!

My experience today was much different than my experience last year...definitely a decline in customer service. I had a 10am appointment and one of the staff members called me the evening before to ask me to come in a little earlier to complete some paperwork. No problem. I showed up at 9:45am and the gate to the office was halfway open. The same staff member Id spoken to the evening before was like, Were not open yet. Ok...so why ask me to come in earlier? Where was the Good morning or Welcome? Anyway, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Malik; however, I was seen by someone else. I dont even know her name as she did not introduce herself. That was a turn off. If I schedule an appointment with a specific person, I expect to see that person. I wanted to leave, but I had already left work for this appointment. Next, I didnt find the doctor to be very pleasant...she kind of had a smart mouth. Anyway, I paid for my exam and contacts and left. Again, no Have a nice day...the staff member just went on gossiping with her coworker. My experience last year was the complete opposite. The staff was very pleasant and welcoming and I enjoyed Dr. Malik. I can spend my $400 elsewhere. Ill just assume the staff hadnt had their coffee yet hence the unfriendliness...
