One of the workers there, Pam, was such a character! Great service, and great prices!

We rented a double (20x20) unit at this Mundelein location in October, 2020 and have had our stuff here for 12 months. Finally able to move on, YAY!!! Before vacating our unit, I just wanted to compliment Pamela, the facility manager. She is the most understanding, sweet and professional storage place manager we have ever dealt with. Most self storage facilities are pretty much the same as far as the units themselves go, but what makes this place outstanding is Pamela and the way she runs the place and her ability to understand peoples needs and situations. The facility itself is very clean, quiet, and has always felt safe, but what would make us return here versus someplace else is Pamela and her eagerness to help with whatever she can. Thank you Pamela for your kindness!!!

Chose this place in 2021 because of its location. Based on the staffs politeness, I tried to like it, I really did. But its been one hassle after another, and some of that constitutes bait-and-switch. There are charges on the invoice that are never mentioned on the so-called rental agreement which we are required to sign up front (I still have mine, and put them side by side to check). Youd better keep a copy of yours too, because staff are perpetually confused about how much they are actually trying to charge you. You should watch all the charges like a hawk. Besides those charges, they also require mandatory insurance which is not mentioned in the ads. The outdoor parking spaces are nowhere near as large as advertised. Some are up to 10 feet shorter than advertised. Some are much narrower than others too. Also the space for maneuvering in and out of those is greatly overstated. If a long rig pulls in to either side of you, you could be trapped in there without enough room to get out at all. The staff tries to work around all of those inadequacies by pressuring customers to park with their vehicle overhanging far over the curb, which is not always practical, it can damage some rigs. There are trees hanging way over the fence in the parking area so each time you do swing your rig in or out, you scratch it up, and risk damaging your expensive air conditioners. If the postal service takes a little too long to carry your check from your bank to the storage place, theyll suspend your gate code, locking you out, and charge you a significant late fee. But if that happens, dont despair, just wait. One or more times per month the gates will malfunction and leave your rig open to the public until someone gets around to repairing them. That happened again June 21, 2021. So if you park a trailer there, be sure to use a good quality tongue lock and a wheel boot, or someone will be easily driving away with your trailer. Also each parking space has at least two different ant colonies underneath it. Those ants will repeatedly invade your rig.UPDATE: Kudos to the corporate staff for promptly reaching out when they saw a bad review. But at this time Ill politely decline to deal with them, for these reasons: Most of the problems come from how the business is run, and are nothing at all to do with my account. Therefore nothing good can come from having them touch my account. Im actually afraid of what might happen to my account if they touch it any further. Those problems were there before I came to the place, and theyll be there long after Im gone, unless this business cleans up its act. Nothing about my account is going to change that.

They have always been courteous and helpful. Closing my unit was no problem.

The woman who checked me in the first day and got me set up was excellent. She was not only kind but just organized and helpful. I think you are lucky to have her.

I own a few small businesses and have a staff of 20+. Over the years I have learnt that to run any business you need great people. Pam at CubeSmart Mundelein is an awesome person to work with. CubeSmart is lucky to have her and I am glad I found them.

Second time renting, staff is great, helpful. Should think about hiring service to clear the snow in empty parking spots though. Very reasonable price to park your car. Thank you!

Sharon is a great manager. She is polite, professional and very nice. She goes out of her way to assist her customers. I had an issue with an online booking and she spent extra time with me to resolve it. She helped me get the best deal possible. I was very happy with her assistance. I would highly recommend CubeSmart. They had the best online deals in the area. I ended up getting a bigger storage (drive up unit) for a lot lower price than other storage places in the area offered. If you have questions go straight to Sharon and see what she recommends.

Very unhappy with the GM Rachel. she was so rude and had no respect. i emptied the storage a day after the new bill kicks in. and she was trying to make me pay for the full month, and she told me if i don’t make the payment she’s gonna take me to collection. and i had to call the corp. manager Bruce, he was so nice and so understanding and he told me she has mo right to say stuff like that. and he apologized for her. Bruce and Pamela( the other manager) both were so nice and respectful.and another time i was trying to get to the storage but couldn’t open the gate, and Rachel was there, was around 6:30pm, the store was closed, so i tried to ask her something and she was in the car didn’t want to even open the window and talk to me. i asked her can you please roll down the window i got to ask something?! and she rolled the window down a little bit and was like:my shift is done. i told her can i ask you something? she was like: what?! all attitude for no reason. and i asked her for the gate, she was like: like i said my shift is done.i don’t get it why you have to be rude like that, we all human, just be respectful. so like i said very unhappy only because of the GM Rachel. other than that i was very satisfied. thats all i have to say about it!

Met with both Kayla and Rachel. They were both professional & very friendly, explained everything with detail – followed up with an email, went over various options from sizes of unit to payment and Rachel was very clear to give us directions on how to exit the facility. After my visit, I had my husband to meet me at the facility b/c he wanted to make sure it was the right size, secure and clean. The facility is clean, affordable, seems secure and close to our business. Rachel went the extra mile to make sure that I was happy. CubeSmart seems to be very busy – surely they are providing storage needs for many in the area.

Very friendly staff. Clean organized storage units. We stored a 34 foot RV plenty of room to fit very happy with the experience. We were forced out of public storage because they put us in a small a space and then they got in trouble for doing it and we ended up getting screwed in the long run but I’m glad we did because we pay less now and we got a better storage spot

Well, I moved out of my CubeSmart unit 3 weeks ago to move stored items to a vacant home that I had for rent. My interaction with CubeSmart then was phenomenal. They bent over backwards to make the experience easy even though I was moving out. Yesterday, I rented the home that I just put stored items in, to a new tenant. I called CubeSmart back and spoke to Rachel. She set me up with a unit that I will move the same items into tomorrow. She was fantastic. Between Pam and Rachel, the customer service could not be better. My contract was arranged via phone in a matter of minutes. I would not even think about going somewhere else. You ladies at CubeSmart Mundelein ROCK!! Thank you again!

Rachel Akran was truly amazing help and made this moving process worth it. If it wasn’t for her and her amazing customer service at this location we wouldn’t have selected storing our things here because it was a rough process the day before. Rachel At CS was so helpful in getting me set up with the right size storage unit for my needs! She explained everything clearly and showed me the actual units and swept out the unit I chose to go with right away. Ridiculous admin fees....claim things are free, but thers always a $10, $12, $25 admin fee....Treating customers like fools. Its embarassing to deal with companies like this.

This is my second storage unit at this facility. Rachel was very accommodating yesterday, Valentine’s Day, she stayed late so I can come in and sign the new lease and she did it with a genuine smile. Great customer service.

Rachel did a great job for me. Initially reserved 2 spaces and when I came in to complete the contract she had a customer who had vacated a larger unit and reserved the larger unit for me - it is less $$ per month and more space than what she had originally reserved for me. Rachel is also very pleasant and easy to deal with.

Rachel and Rochelle - amazing customer service! They are hard workers and really made our experience renting a truck super pleasant. They greeted us with smiles at pick-up and return! These ladies take care of everything including thoughtfully gave me a golf cart ride so I wouldnt have to walk so far!

We had reserved a unit at this location and had to change the move-in date a couple of times. I cannot say enough about the service we received from Mary. She was always pleasant, efficient and accommodating. She even commented when we went to put the lock on our unit that it had not been swept out and she would take care of it. I would highly recommend this location.

Very disorganized place. The staff had no idea where our unit was and couldn’t answer any of our questions No one seemed to know what was going on so we moved to ExtraStorage.

When you call their number the first thing you hear is how great of customer service they provide. Do NOT believe it - at least at this location. The Manager Zena couldnt try harder to be unhelpful - she was miserable and would do absolutely nothing to help. When pressed with how to handle the situation, which was a simple request to allow me to unload a couple of items from my moving truck to gain access to my identification, she refused and told me to find another storage location. Which I gladly did. Poorest customer service I have ever encountered.

I had such a wonderful experience working with Cliff to find a good storage unit for me. He was patient and so kind. I will recommend CubSmart and specifically Cliff to anyone that has any storage needs.

Zena was extremely helpful and continues to be in finding me best spot for my travel trailer. Since I am in the process of purchasing a larger trailer I need a larger space. They offer the best customer service I have found at a storage facility.

A lot of the comments here have praised manager, Cliff Powell. And while Cliff can be a very nice guy in dealing with customers, its too bad they dont see the other side of him. Ive seen him on his days off when he was still on the property and came by to talk to me and he was totally inebriated and argumentative from drinking too much. Also, Cliffs 70 year old brother, John lives on the property
