Another fun Friday with Paul and Roy at Hodsons Coins! Great conversation and friendly service!! Paul is knowledgeable not only of the coins but the collectibles too. While I was there he took time to educate and encourage a teenager in coin collecting. I got fair and honest pricing on the Goodies I bought!!! So much so, I went over budget-- again :)

My Wife went into the shop and saw some vases she wanted.. Paul took her number and said he would get her a price. I came in a few days later and bought them for her. I then took her back so she would think they sold.. I called ahead and told Paul of this plan and he Played it off perfectly..Top notch acting! Paul even gave her a fantastic deal on BU Franklins. She was so excited to see them on the table on her birthday. Although She still plans to yell at Paul later. :) Plan on buying here instead of online dealers..

I placed a review on this coin shop that was not accurate. John had accurately assessed my coin and gave me great advise for the coin. I had another coin person accuse John of having done something or having tried to deceive me and had me twisted. I took Johns advise had the coin graded and it turned out to be 100% the right thing to do. I am publicly apologizing for my negative comments and have personally apologized to John. To all collectors out there you can trust John and so can I.

I’ve experienced very fair pricing when both buying and selling. If your looking for something and don’t see it on display ask chances are they have it in back.

Couldn’t get prices on anything old grump ask me if I was a dealer because everything I ask him about had high premiums other guy said they mostly buy here. Everytime I ask him about an item he would say I have to look it up on ebay we sell there and to blah blah blah. Had a few nice things I was interested in but couldn’t get straight answer or any prices. He also said if your looking for underpriced items won’t find them here and askes me if I was doing a circuit of all the coin stores around him.Won’t be back.

I purchased a few gold coins and Silver bars I was with my family and John and Paul was very friendly they took the time to explain to us the Details.. And broke everything down for us in writing highly Recommend Them to friends and family

They dont buy any coins unless they are extremely rare and they dont pay anything close to what they are worth. Dont waste your time go to .999 fine in Lansing its ten minutes from this rip off joint......

These guys are complete scammers. Their coins are overpriced and there is no arguing with them. If you want the coin you pay their price (unless you arent too afraid to find out that Ebay is by far cheaper). I bought many coins from thes guys including an eagle cent fo $32 and a half cent for $40. I went in to see what they would me for 4 coins. 2 of the 4 coins I wanted to sell were the 2 coins i mentioned above. I mentioned I was looking for $80 for the coins they both both laughed at me. First of all, as many coins as I have bought from these 2 guys, neither one of them even recognized me. Second of all they claimed that the eagle cent which they sold me for $32 wasnt even worth $10, and that the half cent they solf me for $40 was also only worth $10 and offered me only $40 for all 4 coins. I went on Ebay and sold all 4 coins in a 7 day auction for $180. These guys are rude and disrepectful, their store is filthy and unorganized, and they treat everyone like a thief. Avoid this store at all costs. Buy cheaper and sell higher on ebay.
