BIG SURPRISE - I am having some problems with a new varnish finish; which is actually quite tricky to do here in FL. To my total SURPRISE, when talking to ANDY at the West Marine store, he had some very helpful suggestions and recommendation for me...... I was very pleased to find this depth of expertise and will be back.

West Marine has just about everything you could ever need of youre a boat owner. From apparel to batteries, hardware to software, If they dont have it, they can order it for you or find someone who does. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff!

Dan helped us, and I couldnt believe what a thoroughly knowledgeable sailor he is! He was able to answer most of our questions as we were shopping for navigation electronics, and anything he didnt know, he called the manufacturer and got all of the information for us. Hes a sailor himself, and sometimes we run into people who really only understand power boating which is not the same in many ways. However, I heard him answer others questions, and on those he was just as much a true expert.

Great place to run in and grab quick items. They have a little bit of everything, which is nice. Prices are fair, some items are high but they would be high anywhere else as well.

My latest expeience with west marine is an example unnecessary corporate greed. I am a right wing capitalist who believes that we all must do the right thing.I have bought seveal small dehumidifiers from west marine, i have had many people buy more based on my recommendation. I went to pirchase 2 more one for me and one to give away. There was only 1 left on the shelf and this was due to a friend that I sent there bought 2 just the day before.They said they could order an additional one except they woukd charge me shipping to basically restock their shelves. I questioned the new policy and was told it was due to covit-19. I added that most co including the three that I own are being even more charitable in times like this. I was told I was lucky they were even open.So i didnt place the order for the second I will return the one i bought as I ordered 2 on line had them shipped to my home and saved about 30%I think you know where I will refer my friends now.We all should be doing the right thing every day not just in a crisis

The West Marine to go to if the one on Marco Island doesnt have what you need. The usual West Marine great service, good selection, and above average prices.

I bought a Columbia buff fromThem about a month ago I put it on once and it has a rip in the nose area . So I go to return it with the credit card I used and the pretty much told me to bad and then gave me a number to call and they said the same thing so i went to ace hardware down the street and purchase two new ones and u lost a customer for life thanks west marine . Jerks
