🥯Best place to get a salmon bagel for the price. Parking is tough at peak hours and it can get cramped inside but if you are driving by and they aren’t busy, it’s a great stop!
I tried their lox sandwich and put it on their challah bagel, and omg, the pure delight! Ive never had a lox bagel before coming here, but now its my go to bagel sandwich!I believe they are one of the only, if not the only, place to buy a challah bagel. Its so versatile in that it can be made sweet or savory and still taste delicious. The staff are nice and customer oriented. They appear knowledgeable of the menu, and have no issue customizing customer orders.
I grew up in NY so I’m going to say that their Bagels are just good. Maybe not fair because I don’t eat and rate southern food when I’m up in NY.Anyway fast and efficient, food selection is four stars but the food is not. Also a little pricey for what you are getting.
Bagels and cream cheese are great! Very nostalgic feeling. . . Like what youd picture an early 90s bagel shop to be but plus juices and smoothies.
It was so-so. We drove about 25 mins for one of our favorite meals that we cannot find in GA or FL. The bagels were really small, the Lox portion was meager, and to add insult to injury, the toaster was broken; so they only have one? All of this for $9.95? I would not come back.
Just visited Star Bagel for the first time. I was thrilled with the quality of not only my bagel, but also the selection of cream cheeses and coffee offerings. They even had a sugar-free vanilla syrup for their coffee for those watching their sugar intake like myself. Our family will definitely be back and we felt VERY safe there. Not sure what other reviewers were talking about saying the employees were not wearing masks and PPE, they definitely are. (And I have the pics to prove it! Check them out!)It will be a regular weekend breakfast spot for us in the future! I was talking to the guy making the coffees and he said theyve been around 40 years, so if youre looking for a REAL DEAL LOCAL breakfast, this is it! #eatlocal
Quick service. Tasty Bagels & bagel sandwiches. Expect a crowd.
Amazing bagels and bagel selection however after hearing that the owner is a crazy Qanon guy I had to unfortunately stop coming here.
Busy place but worth the wait.
Ive been there 17 times and those were the 17 best bagels Ive had in 17 years. The owner is a very stable genius!
INCREDIBLE bagels and sandwiches! We went here on a Sunday last minute looking for some breakfast food and we were blown away by the quality of ingredients and how good everything tasted. We also got ourselves a mocha and it was one of the BEST drinks I’ve ever had - highly recommend! Finally service is amazing, they’re super considerate, friendly, and quick! Highly recommend anytime you’re in the mood for bagels/sandwiches/salads
Possibly the worst bagel I have ever had - even after toasting it was soft and mushy. I got the Sante Fe breakfast bagel and noticed they just nuked my egg mixture in a flimsy plastic throw away type container, so not only did they essentially poach the vegetables and sausage with the eggs, I also got the added benefit of plastic micro particles from microwaving food in plastic. Even the coffee was lack-luster. Never again. Servers were nice though.
Stopped in today for the first time looking for a quick breakfast.I got a croissant sandwich and it was very good, the coffee was great.
Delicious bagel breakfast sandwiches!! Smoothies are fresh and made with real fruit but still reasonably priced
Very friendly staff with decent bagels n stuff
We got the two salmon bagel options. Chose a garlic bagel with salmon cream cheese. Also had an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. They make it a sandwich with lettuce, tomato and capers. Grabbed 2 fruit cups and a bottle of water. $24.There was a line the entire time I was there. From entrance to exit was there about 15 minutes.Looked like drinks were pretty popular there, especially smoothies.
Love the place, its always seem to be pack, good food, not much parking though
Took my youngest son to use a gift card he had, and the Ladies that worked that morning were so nice. They walked him threw the process and he placed the order and paid alone. He really enjoyed the experience!
The food is great, warm welcome, happy staff, quick food preparation
The cheddar and jalapeno biscuits are outrageous!!The are sandwich size and absolutely devine!!
Best local bagels by far! Fresh, handmade bagels and other assorted baked goods daily. Plus, they have fresh cold pressed juice!! With all of their options, whether it be breakfast or lunch, Im sure youll find a tasty and healthy way to subsidize your day.
It does not get better than Star Bagel in Nashville.Im a native Nashvillian, born on West End and raised all around the city. This spot has been around for most of my life, and unlike a lot of Nashville, it remains unchanged in the best way possible. The bagels are fantastic, but be sure to get there in the morning if you want your pick of the litter. Im not the only one who loves this place, so the neighborhood favorites go fast. Im a huge fan of Everything, Cinnamon Raison, and the Challah bagels, but all of them are fresh. They also make cream cheese in house, and their salads and dressings are incredibly fresh as well.My favorite sandwich here is the Chicken Salad Bagelwhich on an Everything bagel. Pro-tip though: If youre in for lunch, skip the coffee or the smoothie and hit the Fruit Tea. You will not regret it.From the people to the prices, Ive always loved coming into Star Bagel, breakfast, lunch or for a cold brew coffee — its always a pleasant experience. I hope theyre around for a long time to come!
Good food at a good price! Great coffee!
FINALLY I found a real bagel place in Nashville! Its absolutely crazy to me that Star Bagel doesnt have more locations. This is the first place Ive found that has real bagels. I cannot recommend the challah bagel enough. If youre a fan of a good egg bagel, this is a tremendous substitute. Soft, a little sweet and delicious. I had one of their breakfast sandwiches. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The staff were crazy nice and super knowledgeable. The sandwich (challah bagel, egg whites, cheese and turkey sausage) was perfect! The bagel was crispy and chewy, the perfect bagel combination. The turkey sausage was spicy and not greasy. The egg whites were cooked perfectly. What a great spot. I highly recommend starting your day here. I cant wait to go back for lunch sometime. Please open a location in Hendersonville!
Love their bagels and smoothies.
I am from out of state, but visit often for the delicious chicken salad and bagels!
Had a great toasted everything bagel, and looking forward to making this a regular breakfast spot! This place is a Nashville classic (sorry other “famous” bagel shop) and has friendly staff to match the homey vibes
Good, cheap bagel. All you can ask for
Used to go there all the time. Owned by an outspoken Q anon anti-mask CoVID 19 conspiracy theory psycho so never again.
Had a asiago turkey sandwich and a chai tea with almond milk. It was delicious and great service.
Update: Ive been back in August and September (2021). Both times, someone DID answer the phone, took my order that way, and brought it to my car.----------------------No way to order without going inside which, unfortunately, my mobility problems make very difficult. Their app doesnt allow for what I wanted (double topping on each bagel, which would have been more expensive and for which I would have gladly paid extra), and the comments field was too short to add that, and when I tried to place my order by phone, they never answered. I called 4 times in 30 minutes in mid-morning and only got a recording every time telling me to use their app. My order would have been well over $50; I went to Brueggers instead
Always a great great service. Even the customers are thoughtful.
The best homemade bagels and homemade cream cheese!
Best Muffuletta in Nashville! Always busy...use their app to order ahead - no waiting :)
Wont answer the phone for orders and when asked about it the old guy laughed in my face and said we just dont answer the phone. I live in the neighborhood around the shop and I will never go back.
I really enjoyed my visit. I thought the bagel was very good and fresh, good quantity of tasty cream cheese. Very friendly service. Well go back again. Husband got the cinnamon raisin bagel and said it didnt have much flavor very light on the cinnamon. My everything bagel was delicious. Well go back to try more for sure. The staff was really great. I recommend it.
The only BAGELS worth eating in Nashville!
Great bagel. RUSSEELL IS AWESOME
Jimmy is a fine managerGreat rolls!!!!
Went here for the first time today and LOVED it. They had a lot of options and fast service. The smoothies were very fresh tasting and their sandwiches were awesome. Definitely will be back!
I love Star Bagel, been going for years. But they don’t offer gluten free bread anymore so I’m not able to order much of anything. They changed their vendors I was told and won’t be getting it back. Makes me sad!
Unbelievably horrible bagels and coffee. Latte was worse than sink water and bagel and cream cheese worse than a public school lunch. Do NOT come.
A bit on the pricey side but delicious and a great place for a quick bite or short hang
Amazing choices
Bringing back old memories. Great CS, and Great Food !!!
I bought lunch for my business and the food was amazing. All the employees raved about how fresh and delicious everything was. We had several sandwiches, salads, coffee drinks, brownies, cookies, banana bread, parfait, pastries, etc. Highly recommend this place!!!
The best bagels Ive found in Nashville. We grew up with a New York style bagel and walking in here was a reminder of those days. The staff is great and they do a good job of moving you through the line and getting your food. The atomic pom smoothie was amazing. If you want great bagels, this is your place. Will be sad when were gone.
Always good service, fresh bakes, strong smoothies....4 stars not 5 because theyre dining room is barely seating
This place is popular for a reason they are the best! We waited in line for a good 15 minutes but the reward was well worth it! The everything bagel was coated with spice on every surface, paired with lox and cream cheese. This is where my love affair with Star began, a must stop anytime Im in Nashville from now on.
The bagels are good. Nothing like a real NY bagel, but, tasty. I LOVED the olive and Pimento cream cheese. That could be downright addictive. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. I hear to grab and go, but, would come back to sir and have coffee. They have fresh juices, too. Definitely worth a try.
I didnt believe the hype at first, but everything is delicious!! We loved the croissant, onion bagel, and the everything bagel.
Not the best service. And a little bit a weird bohemian vibe, however the food itself is fantastic and I will definitely be back anytime I’m in the area
Great bagel and coffee!
Star Bagel is the best bagel place in Nashville. Hands down. My roommate and I bought a dozen bagels there per week and had no problem eating them all. Staff is super friendly. If youre going on a weekend, be prepared for a little bit of a line because everyone else knows its good too!
Stopped in for a late lunch and got a chipotle chicken with a healthy tropics smoothie. I dont mean to be dramatic, but that was the best chipotle chicken sandwich Ive ever had. The smoothie was awesome as well.
It is excellent!!! Best bagels in Nashville.
Great bagels, good bagel sandwiches and the smoothies.are great! Good place to grab something quick or relax on the patio!
Tuna Melt on sourdough and a salted caramel coffee 👌
I love this place! Great coffee and breakfast fare. Their lunch is wicked too. Pretty sure they bake their own bread for their sandwiches. And their meats are really tasty.
Great service great prices. First time going there i will make a it a point to stop when im in that area
Literally one of my favorite places to eat on the go! Great service and AWESOME people. Perfect portion size and food and drinks taste great!
I went right after 12 pm and tried to get a quick bite - I ordered a honey cinnamon bagel sandwich...after waiting about 5 minutes I was given my order. When I opened it up, it was a bagel that was DRENCHED in honey...covered on the inside and outside. There was no way to touch or hold the bagel without getting honey all over my hands. The honey also dripped through the individual bagel wrapping and through the outside of the brown paper bag so the whole process was a big mess. There was also no cinnamon to be seen. The bagel was fine but not really what I expected to receive based on my order and the price. I am hoping it was just a badly made order and that the secret to a successful visit lies in ordering something else.
Not bad, but not great. Santa Fe bagel sandwich was bland. I realized they forgot to put on the olive pimento cream cheese I asked for. It was just what was needed. That element was delicious. Unfortunately they dont put much cream cheese on the bagels.
This place is a must stop for breakfast. They were very busy when we arrived but after eating the food I knew why the crowd was so large. The Santa Fe breakfast bagel is absolutely delicious and the coffee was great too. They also did a great job of serving up orders quickly even with the long line of customers.
I happened to catch them early in the morning before the initial rush. The staff was courteous, pleasant, and patient. The menu was wonderfully diverse and creative. I highly recommend Star Bagel Cafe.
Great place. My 1st time and I recommended. I ordered an avocado sandwich. Was something different but really good and they have always fresh water with cucumber or lemon or oranges. Always something different! I love it!
Delightful New York style bagels, a.k.a. the real deal. Their everything bagel is topped on the top and on the bottom...just as they should be. Excellent selection of bagels and other items including salads and sandwiches. Coffee choices excellent and always freshly brewed.
The food is always very good. Ive never had a great experience there. The bagel sandwiches, especially those with egg, are rather bland. Their bagels are pretty good, which is what you go there for. Coffee has improved..
This is hands-down my favorite sandwich shop / cafe in Nashville. Their veggie melt is delicious, as is their chicken salad sandwich on cranberry walnut bread. Their ingredients always taste fresh, particularly their bread. I always recommend this spot to locals and out-of-town visitors alike.
Oh great
READ(FROM NYC)- if you are from NYC area and are looking for a good bacon egg and cheese dont come here.2 stars is because the bagel is actually decent. However I dont like microwaved eggs on my bagel. In fact I dont like any part of my food microwaved. What is this a college dorm room with no grill? The iced coffee taste like dirt. Stay away. Organic milk & organic sugar. Wouldnt be so bad except my whole meal was $16 For 2 bagels and a cup of dirt. Dont know how this place has such good reviews because my experience was otherwise.
As a former New Yorker, this place reminds me a lot of the bagel deli style restaurants that I used to frequent in and around the city. While the bagels may not be NY style the food and coffee drinks are excellent. The parking lot is small and the seating is limited, but they do a great job of moving people along during the morning rush. Their bagel egg sandwiches are excellent and their espresso bar has some great options. They also offer delicious fresh juices.
Weve been getting most, if not all, things delivered during the stay at home time. This morning, decided to step out and try curbside delivery from Star Bagel and was taken aback by what I experienced. Id driven by a few times over the last couple of weeks and seen a tent outside for pick ups I assume but this morning, nothing was there. Id placed an online order and had already paid so I went in to grab my bagels and go.The employees do not have on face coverings. The fellas making sandwiches, the barista, the person running the register. Not one. There are no social distancing requirements inside the store other than your own. Several kids running around. There are no limits as to how many people can enter the store. No hand sanitizer, etc.I want to support local. Ive lived SPN for many years but this is unacceptable.Sadly, my order was wrong and I didnt notice until I got home and I wont go back b/c of the issues listed above. Please stay aware and stay safe.
Star Bagel is a solid find: fresh ingredients, good coffee, and a delicious honey cinnamon butter bagel and honey bee latte. Its tucked away in a cozy neighborhood with a nice walking path and park across the street. Perfect for a brunch or lunch.
Great as a breakfast/brunch area. Fresh, healthy ingredients. Prices are reasonable too.
Great bagels! These are the real deal. Im originally from up both north and this is the first place Ive found that makes bagels that smell and taste like the real ones from up north. They are a little pricier than Panera, but much better bagels. Their menus need updating, especially since the prices are of by about 30%.
Has the mom and pop welcoming feel, great food, good coffee. Sometimes on the busy times the garbage gets a little full or the tables aren’t wiped as fast, but overall awesome. The perfect little local bagel and breakfast shop. Feels like home.
Great variety of food and drinks, but parking can be a problem. The best time to go is around 2-3; no or little wait time. The staff here are extremely friendly and wide awake for 6 a.m. if you are one for breakfast. Bagels are freshly made and not hard as a hockey puck as I have had at other competitors. Never had a problem with the service, though I am sure many have complaints about wait time during lunch but if you are familiar with the area you can understand why. Well worth the wait though.
Delicious & fast! Being from the NY area it’s difficult to find a good bagel to satisfy. The bagels are very good and (though the line is always long) it moves very quickly. Went in on a busy Sunday morning for a dozen and was in & out in 10 minutes!
Still great bagels and sandwiches after all these years in the neighborhood. The menu and offerings have expanded along the way as have the prices.
Definitely enjoyed the fact the bagel was freshly baked. I also got an omelette on the bagel and it was a fresh cooked egg and was no microwaved like most bagel places. I definitely will be back. When I went in Sunday morning the line was super long but went fast.
Found this place after we tried to go to Bruegers Bagles for a lox sandwich but it was closed. We loved it, super cute atmosphere and the coffee was outstanding! We will be back.
I love this place. Its my breakfast Cheers. They all know my name and have my order ready before I even order sometimes. I guess I am a bit predictable. Always fresh. The organic pressed juices are fantastic, too :)
Love this place! The fruit tea is the best around. My usual is a turkey fresco with fruit tea. This is a great place to meet friends or spend a few hours reading during their down time in the morning (typically 9-11 is a bit slower).
New app is trash. Curbside pick up non existent. Getting someone to answer the phone is impossible. Voicemail is full. Need to be refunded as we never received food
I waited in line for 30 minutes to order with my 5 pound emotional support dog. When I was next up they told me I couldnt order because I had a dog. Why not tell me that when I walk in?Also- when Ive tried to order here multiple times in the past they NEVER pick the phone up. It doesnt matter how early I call.Ive given this place way too many chances. Ill be sticking with Proper Bagel from now on.
Such a cute little store conveniently located in the cute neighborhood of Sylvan park. The staff is always cheery and the bagels are always on point. Go early as this place gets very busy and can be crowded with messy kids during peak weekend hours. They make a great lox sandwich and highly recommend the fresh juice in the coolers.
They have very good bagels. Variety of bagels and cream cheese. A few pastries. Some heartier breakfast/lunch bagel sandwiches. Pretty good local coffee. Smoothies. It can get very busy and crowded. But we almost always find a seat, or you can always go across the street to the park. They also have a nice uncovered patio. Parking can be a little tricky when its busy. Street parking is usually easiest.
Prices are fair. Great quality of food!
Excellent Asiago Turkey sandwich. 1/2 will fill you up. Great service. Will definitely go again.
Bagel selection is good. Everything, cinnamon raisin and much much more. Coffee selection is also good. But,,,The bagels are doughy, not crisp on the outside and lighter on the inside. If you have ever eaten an Einstein’s Bagel or Brueggers bagel than you know what this one taste like. Not bad. Not great.
0 star....be careful when trying to get a job! U may work 2 or 3 days then get a text informing you that your availability isnt gonna work? Food and other employees are awesome, but that so called owner # NUTCASE.
Even if you aren’t from NYC these bagels aren’t very good. The texture of the bagels was a little grainy. Bagels also had a uniform texture throughout, no crispy exterior and chewy interior. They also make some cold pressed juice. I had the orange juice, which included ginger and turmeric. I could barely taste of Orange.
Super cute and quick service. Good prices
Gross bagels. No.
