The Ryman is beautiful. I don’t recommend the Halloween tour overpriced for a guided tour with forced ghost stories thrown in to spice it up for Halloween. If our tour guide had been a better story teller it may have been better. Over all it was fine I just wouldn’t do it again nor recommend it. But the Ryman is cool and full of rich country music and TN history. The cool thing about the tour (maybe they do this on all the tours) is we got to go under and on the stage.
I was surprised at the experience at the Ryman. They have an excellent intro video thats fully immersive and walks you through the history, then you get to explore it at your own pace. The museum admission includes photos on the main stage that they print off and have waiting in the gift shop for you.I really enjoyed walking through and learning about all the different artists. The only area I wish they wouldve had was a view at what backstage looks like at the Ryman. Worth a tour if youre in Nashville.
The Ryman Theater is an outstanding experience of music history as well as the best acoustics of any concert venue in North America. Wrapped and angled to give every seat an intimate experience and view if the stage with the humbling experience of knowing the greats that have graced this stage.Dashboard Confessional unplugged was born to perform here! Best concert I have had the pleasure to attend for all the reasons.
It was incredible seeing a show at the historic Ryman Theater! If youre on the ground floor, you definitely want to be in rows A through k so youre not under the balcony and dont have to risk having a blocked view. There were plenty of restrooms and places to get a beer and all the staff were very welcoming.Great sound, even in a historic space. It was really awesome looking at the modern amenities like the awesome amplifiers, but then looking at the ceiling and seeing the 130 year-old boards still up there!
Wonderful! All of the employees were so nice & informative. A nice man named John struck up a conversation with me with some history of the Ryman, telling me about cattle auctions, circuses & ice shows in the theaters history. He was so pleasant with a great sense of humor.Lots of well presented historical pieces - clothing, sheet music & instruments from all the biggest stars to perform there - Dolly Parton, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Amy Grant, and many more. I loved the hall with prints of all of the programs from over 100 years of performances at the Ryman. The little film shown at a beginning was very well done & interesting. The theater is so lively, a show was being set up for that night. We bought our tickets in advance and entry was easy - all done by scanning our phones and included a free printed photo of us standing on the stage.Would definitely recommend this as a must see for anyone visiting Nashville.
Amazing!! Definitely a must. Very interesting. Our tour guide Ms. Deborah was really really good... professional, funny, friendly, patient... she answered all the questions we had. (And.. I think this is the first place of all the guided tours places weve been in the nation that did not expect or have a place for tips! ... the video is a must cool info and effects. We recommend the guided tour.. only $10 more than self guided and you can get AAA discounts
Worth the price of admission! We didn’t do any research before going in to see this attraction. We were very pleased with our decision to take the tour of the Ryan Auditorium. Lists of music history and learned a lot about how it played a roll in the development of country music. My 17 year old daughter enjoyed this tour as well!
DIDNT GO IN so dont feel I can leave more or less than an average rating. All we could see was the lobby and gift shop without a tour, but with airline schedules not whitening with Ryman your schedules, it wasnt worth the $132.03 for 2 adults, 1 senior, & 2 kids (😲❓😳) for just an hour to look around. Neat to be on the site but that was it... 🤷🏻♀️ Wish there was an option to pay $15 or something to see the auditorium for those that dont have hours to spend watching all the movies that make up the tour and dont live on east coast.
Simply amazing getting to experience and watch a live performance at the Mother Church! The Ryman is so awesome, just getting to sit in the original church style pews and think about Its History and all the Music Legends that have performed there it gave me goosebumps. Wasnt a bad seat anywhere in that place with awesome clear sound that just made it even more amazing knowing. If you havent been..... Then you should go right now and feel that Ryman historical vibe!
We stopped in Nashville just for this. Weve always wanted to go to the home of the Grand Ole Opry and Bluegrass! We did the backstage pass and it was worth it! Lots of great information. The self guided tour comes with a picture of you on the stage of the Ryman, which makes it even more worth it. Their is so much history here. The acoustics are great and I cant wait to see a concert here.
Wow! What a great experience it was to tour the Ryman. Such amazing musical history here. We chose the self-guided tour due to time, but Im wishing we had been able to go behind the stage for a more intimate view. Well worth the time to peruse and see the well put together 3-D history show at the start of the tour.
The self-guided tour is better than expected, with a really well done immersive intro video. They let you walk all over the facility and even give you a free photo of yourself on the middle stairs of the stage. You can feel the history in this place. A little pricey for such a short experience, but worth it.
Make it be Real. Bring your own instruments and dress appropriately. Boots are a big deal here. Hats too (especially when bought from hat stores serving celebrities). Get your photo with your gear and love one(s) on stage during the early part of the day (tour hours). Hang em on your walls @ home ( Photos and getup that is). Ta da, youre stylin. Youll be irresistible after a Real visit to the Ryman. God Bless.
My family and I had a great time at the Ryman. The trip was an extra special experience because Randy Travis stopped by for a photo shoot on stage (see photo) while we were there. I definitely recommend going if you are at all interested in Nashville history or enjoy any of the various rock, pop, or country music artists that have performed here over its more than 100 year history. In my opinion, it is a shame they no longer hold the Grand Olde Opry here anymore.
The Ryman was obviously beautiful. It was very cool to share the space where legends have been! Vaccine protocol and security was incredibly easy to move through.
A tour of the Mother Church of Country Music is a must if you visit Nashville, whether youre a country music fan or not! Phenomenally interesting and fascinating tour of this national treasure...do not miss the opening video, and if youre only opting to do the self-guided tour (which is excellent), DO pay the extra nominal fee for the additional backstage tour! Probably my favorite part of our stay in Nashville...and Im only an occasional country fan.
Fell in love with the Ryman!! So much history with Nashville and country music that we didnt know. Highly Recommend!!
Awesome old venue that invited Jelly Roll to play. I am an 80s kid who still remembers this as the original Grand Ole Opry!
We love going to shows at the Ryman. The history and nostalgic feel of the building is unmatched. However ordering any drinks or snack is going to cost ya.. a tall can beer is $14! Its such a beautiful place and the sound quality of the room is perfect!
Once a place of worship beginning in 1892, the Ryman has a rich history. You can find more information of the history and timeline on their website. Now, you can come and enjoy live music & shows! You can also take a tour, explore many shops and food right across the street at Fifth + Broad, and parking is available in the garage nextdoor.
Such a neat, historical place. A must stop in Nashville!
We saw Kevin Costner in concert. Theres not a bad seat in this place. The sound was great! What a historic venue. Glad we got to experience it!
The Mother Church. My favorite place to see live music in the universe.
Honestly one of the best things we did in Nashville. There’s so much stories to be told about this auditorium and it is absolutely wonderful! The introductory video at the start made everyone excited including me! I love the picture that I had on the stage with me holding the microphone. For a moment, I felt like I was a world-class singer! You should try that too!
Such a success story from what could have been a demolition. Enjoyable guided tour of the dressing rooms and backstage. Historical display cases and statuary around the building.
The Mother Church, just a great place to visit. If you love music, no matter what genre you must visit. So much history.
First time at Ryman Auditorium and it was a wonderful experience! Had seats on MF-5 Row 5 and it couldn’t have been better. The sound and lighting was amazing as was the Dailey-Vincent Bluegrass Band! I highly recommend attending a show here, you will not be disappointed!
Great place for music not a bad seat in the house. Cant wait to come back to the Ryman
Great (self)tour! The beginning movie was awesome. Includes a photo on stage.
Nothing special. This is an aging auditorium with church style bench seating. Some of the seats have extremely obstructed views of the stage. This being said, acoustics of the auditorium is pretty good. Bathrooms need remodeling, including instalation of waterless urinals and water saver faucets.
Great museum, where all the famous country singers performed.
While not a huge country music fan, I LOVE music. The Ryman and its history to country music is well worth the visit. Great architecture, history, and an acoustic that is outstanding! The self guided tour was nice. Would love to see a concert there in the future.
Interesting historical place, hard to imagine that it was the original Grand Ole Opry! Some great displays, and the volunteers were very friendly. Im not a big country western fan, so it wasnt a Mecca for me.
We took the tour, and it was more enjoyable than we expected. The movie at the beginning is very impressive, projected onto three sides with a holographic narrator. We took about 45 minutes, but could have easily spent another half hour looking around and just soaking up the vibe. The tour made us eager to come back for a concert!
Was really laid back. We enjoyed reading about the history and the ease of just walking thru
The best place to see live shows in Nashville. Not to mention Joe Bonamassa is absolutely AMAZING live
Got some great t-shirts and magnets in the gift shop. Phenomenal vibes up in here 💯😎
Really, really cool. Worth the tour! Its pretty amazing.
A must see for Nashville. Fine collection and the spirit of Country Music echoes!! Very clean and efficiently ran. Highly recommend!
Awesome team of greeters! Acoustics... just WOW! But the real show stopper was Kevin Costner and Modern West... enjoyed every minute. Thx for the memories
The venue is amazing and the acoustics are perfect! The gentleman that barked “ID and Vax card” at me like he was about to arrest me was upsetting. I felt like while I was getting into the venue that I was bothering the rent a cop that matched my ID with my vaccination card to let me in. I at no point argued or denied his request but his angry and confrontational way of speaking to the paying customers coming in was less than desirable. Best place in Nashville town hear music, some people need some retraining in customer service.
We spontaneously did the self guided tour! So glad we did! The Ryman is beautiful and such a deep history in music! I only wish I had been able to see a live performance! If you can see a show.. Do it!
Beautiful historic Nashville venue. Not a bad seat in the house. Staff the epitome of Southern professionals.
A walk through history .... i learned a lot today ... im so glad everyone came together and saved her ... it would have been such a shame to lose her.....
After visiting the Grand Ole Opry, my husband and I decided we needed to also check out Ryman Auditorium and were so glad we did! The self-guided tour started with a short video about the history of the building and the people who helped make it what it is today. Honestly after walking around Nashville all morning, it was a very welcome break for our tired feet and the video itself was entertaining. The tour was really neat - it was pretty unbelievable to see the stage where so many legendary people performed. There are several historical displays around the auditorium as well - we enjoyed that as well. Overall, we thought the tour was worth the money and was time very well spent.
The best live music venue I have ever been to, that room sounds incredible. Gorgeous building, great history, the behind the scenes tour is worth it.
I have long said live music was my church, and this place embodies that feeling. The Ryman was a perfect venue for seeing a show, even from the balcony, as the size makes every seat in the house feel like a good one!! The sound and lighting were fantastic as well!
Historic building in the heart of Nashville downtown. A must see place while visiting regardless if your a country music fan or not. The auditorium has been restored and is in awesome shape. Take the time to visit, you wont be disappointed!
Courtesy service by office, usher and security personnel. Quaint venue having close audience inter-personability feel. Big Boomy high clear sound by less stage equipment.
Full of history, fun to explore, a definite must see when you go to Nashville!
For me, the perfect venue. Love the intimacy, the size, the ease and convenience.. the history. The nostalgia. No bad seats. Nice acoustics. Perfection.
Dont miss this when visiting Nashville. It has an amazing history. My next goal is to see a show at the Ryman. If you can it is worth the extra to get the guided tour and see the backstage dressing rooms.
Very incredible history ! Need to plan enough time to really enjoy the fantastic history and stars that have been there.
Stunning. A definite bucket list item.
One night a year the Ryman does a haunted tour. Well done and a lot of fun. Not to mention a great way to see the Ryman at night without concert tickets!
This Hallowed ground and historical place is a must see even if your not a country music fan. The tour tells how this is the 4th home of the grand ole opry. Then step on stage of some of the greatest performers of country music from Porter Wagner Dolly Loretta to little Jimmy. Great stop in Nashville
Wonderful to see a concert at the iconic Ryman. Full of history and everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful.
Super high prices on drinks. But a cool venue. We love Jelly Roll, bring him back soon!
Always an amazing time. The history of this building is just incredible. The best venue in town.
Thank You 🙏🏽 Mahalos 🌺 Gracias 💋 Ryman Auditorium management and staff. We had an absolutely amazing evening full of Love ❤️ Laughter & JOKOY🤙🏽🤙🏽💥👍🏽👏🏽🌸🌺🙏🏽Thank you for making Our “parents night out” a Blessed Evening🙏🏽We are praying for you all.Amen.
Highly recommend the self guided tour. Look forward to seeing a live performance on our next trip to Nashville
Loved the history. You watch a short movie before the self guided tour that is really good information on the history of the Ryman
Did the self-guided tour. It was fabulous. A must see destination when in Nashville.
The backstage tour was great! I stood in the same room as Johnny Cash and June Carter! Our tour guide was very informative and friendly.
Awesome experience of a lifetime, to see and hear and feel the history.
The self-guided tour was very organized and the staff was very helpful and getting photos.
Absolutely wonderful time! We were lucky enough to hear the Prestonwood Choir sing How Great Thou Art while we were on our self-guided tour and it was such a beautiful experience! The staff were all very nice and welcoming and we really enjoyed learning the history of the Mother Church of Nashville and look forward to going back!
Wayyy fun get the tour, stay for a show !We say John Hiatt...excellent as always.Enjoy whoever you see
Great Venue! A must! 2nd row balcony seats in the middle were perfect.
A dream come true. As a small child I remember my grandmother going to see the stars and country legends and I always waited to hear the stories of their chats during autograph signings.. beautiful building beautiful city
Great place. Going back next time in town. Jason Isbell is amazing and top notch, but, honestly, opening act: Shamekia Copeland was INCREDIBLE!
Seeing Lucero at the Ryman was a bucket list concert for me. It was a great guney
By far, the best experience in Nashville, DO THE BACKSTAGE AND GUIDED TOUR!!
The Ryman definitely lives up to the hype. First show post-pandemic and Brandi Carlile and the band do not disappoint. The history, the acoustics, the seating. This is why I need live music in my life.
The Mother Church of Music is much more than that! Theres a rich history that can only be found at the Ryman.Over the years, Ive seen concerts in many, many venues but NONE can compete with the Ryman for acoustics, ambiance, and intimacy.
My favorite concert venue of all time. Jake Owen was amazing.
