Wow! This is without a doubt, thee BEST guitar shop experience I have ever had! Ive been playing for 50+ years and have done a lot of shopping for guitars over the years, and this was by far - hands down, top-notch!I made my appointment in advance (per their suggestion), and was greeted and welcomed like an old friend they hadnt seen in years - very comfortable the second I walked through the door. I apologized in advance for my drooling......UNbelievable cache of gorgeous guitars (and other stringed instruments). The setting and ambiance were not only inviting, the entire experience was truly genuine, relaxing (NO pressure) and I could have stayed all day trying out every guitar available - and thats a LOT! I worked with Kim (and Todd) - both extremely knowledgeable, friendly and informative. No one hovered, no pressure - very relaxing atmosphere. They really know how to display their instruments in a fabulous setting of brick walls and wood floors, ensuring your time spent there will not be forgotten.I cant wait to go back!
Excellent customer service and selection!
Very generous, let you play even the 20K ones
Great vibe, being very careful during covid. Great guitar selection.
This place had a very nice selection of mandolins and guitars when I went. I played several mandolins of which all were very unique and high-end at a fair price. I havent seen too many music stores that had great customer service and such quality instruments to choose from like this one! Definitely drop by if you get a chance.
The atmosphere of this store is magical. Guitars galore to choose from at multiple levels. Filled with light in renovated historic factory. Kim is generous with her time and knows so much you can learn a lot without buying anything.
If you love guitars, you’ll LOVE this place! Period.
My experience here was bad. The woman that works here is disrespectful. Others may have had a different experience but she was condescending and disrespectful towards me. I am a gigging musician in my 40s here in Nashville and was treated like a child. Ill never go back and recommend you shop elsewhere. My 22 yr old son told me he had a similar experience here. Judgmental rude lady at the desk, retail rule #1: treat everyone the same and as if they are your best customer. Even if you have to fake it.I ended up buying a new acoustic and amp that day at a different store. There are just too many great options here in Nashville to waste your time and money with a place like this. I buy lots of equipment and make weekly runs to various stores in the area. Message me what you need and Ill let you know where else you should spend your hard earned $$$$.
Kim, Rick, and Andrew are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The store has a very unique lineup of mostly acoustic guitars and other acoustic or acoustic/electric/instruments but a handful of carefully selected electric guitars as well. Lessons and repair available as well.
Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. A good selection of instruments suitable for intermediate to experienced musicians that they will gladly help you with.Very satisfied!
Over the past several years Ive purchased several mandolins from Cotten Music. Theyve been kind enough to ship them to me if I was out of town, etc, and theyve always taken care of my needs. They communicate well. As soon as my son gets out of his pricey daycare in two years I plan on buying a new guitar, hopefully from Cotten! :)
Ive been a customer for over 40 years and through many changes, still the best guitar store on the planet and they have pretty fine mandolins and banjos too
I have been a customer of Cotten Music since 1996. In that near quarter century I have been overwhelmed by the genuine warmth, graciousness, honesty, and painstaking attention to the needs of customers. This customer has become much more than a customer. The homespun charm and outgoing magnetism Kim Sherman and her crew are the genuine core of what makes Cotten Music the iconic shop that it is. My fervent wish and greatest hope is that this new merger will not diminish this shops greatest asset, its humanity. So often, financially powerful entities merge with little jewels and infect them with a dollar driven philosophy. I am confident that Kim we will keep Cotten Musics focus on the working musician who cannot afford an expensive guitar, but deserves the same friendly, open, kind attention as an investing collector. Richard established that philosophy. And, Kim has furthered it and perpetuated it. I am confident that even with this new affiliation, Kim will maintain the goodness and charm of Richards little Hillsboro Village dream shop where a visit was not just an exercise in commerce, but a chance to drop in and chat with friends.
Really welcoming, honest and knowledgable folks with a fine selection of higher-end instruments, particularly acoustics. I place them in the top three vintage guitar shops in Nashville and you probably already know the other two out there on 8th Ave.
Staff are extraordinary friendly and go out of their way to help you. Excellent service and beautiful inventory.
This wonderful little shop is in Nashville, and I live in New York. I found Cotten Music Center through a guitar shop friend in my hometown, in 1996, and have been a customer and friend of the shop ever since. I have purchased a vintage ukulele and three guitars from them over those years—one just last week!—as well as accessories, picks, etc., and each transaction was smooth, friendly, cordial, and fair.I have been to Nashville twice over the last nine years, and was able to meet the folks in the shop, as well as see the old Hillsboro Village location and the newer, boutique-like location. Very nice, with a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. And reserved parking right outside for Cotten customers. If you have never been to the shop, I would recommend you pop in when youre in Nashville, or if you live there. The inventory is not vast, but its choice, and you never know who might be sitting there pickin... I was able to sample guitars from some builders who just have not made it this far east, like JC Baxendale and Leo Posch, whose guitars were very impressive.Cotten has built its reputation on its mission to match players up with the right guitar for them, and two out of the three I purchased have been right! And oddly, both have maple backs and sides. Hmm. Thanks to Kim Sherman for expert advice, guidance, and patience through the years, and for making me feel welcome when I did have the chance to be there in person.
I like their new location. Good selection of guitars
Nice selection of acoustics and fair pricing.
Very friendly !!
Amazing, nice, cool. All things good!!!
