Delicious made-to-order beignets! There are three to an order and they are layered pastry goodness! Great buttery flavor.The meat pies are also scrumptious. The crawfish pie has just the right amount of spice. The meat and the crawfish have a good amount of filling. A Great place to stop for food while gassing up.

Unassuming gas station but youre not ready for whats on the inside. A full on delicious bakery. They have a little bit of everything baked. Didnt try the hot food but it looked good. Frozen cajun favorites in the freezer too. The wine selection was extensive for a gas station. Great place.

French Market isn’t your average gas station.Gas is reasonably inexpensive. Facilities are well maintained and cleaned. Staffing is appropriate for traffic volume. It can get busy, but the wait isn’t long at all. The food is great and a shining exception to the rule to avoid gas station food. Also, they have a bakery onsite and the bakery items are absolutely delicious. The variety of snacks and beverages for the road are immense as well.I have extensive experience with this establishment. I have visited here normally twice a week, whenever my route takes me through Natchitoches, for approximately 8 years. Never had any issues.

Convenient place to get fuel. The store was clean and employees were friendly. The food (we tried the poboy) is pretty good for a convenience store. The meat pie was really good.

Loved the atmosphere. The beignets are so good. I would travel back here just for more. I tried the yam cake also. It has too much coconut flakes in it. I know yam is very bland but this cake is not what I expected.

On July 31st, 2021 at 4:30 pm, four of us young ladies who had car trouble on the way to a wedding… stopped here to wait for assistance. We chose The French Market to wait inside in the 108 degree temperatures outside… because we really enjoy stopping here for shopping and such…Two of us bought a cold drink and sat with our other two friends in the cafe sitting area. We are all dressed nicely… chatting and waiting for car service to arrive. When BAILEY a worker here… very loudly accused us of getting the drinks and not paying for them. When we assured her we had paid for the drinks… she loudly yells across the store and asks the cashiers if we had paid. Everyone is now staring at us… because BAILEY is so loud and rude. The cashiers affirmed that we had indeed paid for our drinks.Maybe BAILEY should have inquired with them to begin with before confronting us so aggressively about two $1.00 drinks.We are already in distress from the issue with our car and not making such an important day for our dear friend.We all come through here often… we will never return to this establishment as long as BAILEY is employed here.

Anytime Im passing through Natchitoches I take the quick detour off the interstate to get some meat pies. The regular beef, spicy beef, and crawfish pies are all really good, its hard to pick a favorite.

We saw the signs for gulf shrimp I am here to say stay clear of the shrimp they are not fresh they have been rinsed in clorox to make them look fresh. We had to throw the 2 pounds we bought in the trash they we so bad.

We like taking a short road trip from Shreveport to enjoy some of the best meat pies around! The dessert is pretty good too. We call friends and family too because they like to put in their requests too once they sampled what we shared with them! And Lashonda ( hope I got her name) is so helpful.

Last time I ordered a shrimp po boy on french bread. The bread was obviously a hot dog bun. The shrimp was good, but a po boy just loses something if its not french bread. Today, I ordered 2 hamburgers. I got Texas toast, but I clicked on hamburger bun. Not sure why it had texas toast on the receipt, because I did not click on Texas toast!! Really weird. The burger was pretty good but I would have preferred a bun.

Every time I pass through natchitoches I have to stop here for the best meat pies in town, and they always have amazing customer service I didn’t get the girl behind the counters name but the beer boy in the back I think his name was Ethan was amazing asked him where the natural light was and he showed me with much respect, definitely recommend this convenient store if you stop by natchitoches.👍

Always stop here on my way to and from Louisiana. Gotta get a sausage egg and cheese biscuit. Plus the kolaches are amazing too, the nice guy at the counter said they get their bread from New Orleans so you know it’s legit. Great place to stop at on a road trip

Would not stop here after midnight, for sure. Felt very unsafe when we stopped to get gas and use the restroom. The clerk had actually locked the building because he feared for his safety over what was going on outside. Witnessed a fight and drug use in the parking lot of this 24 hour tourist stop. Got gas quickly and got out of there, just as the police and ambulance were pulling in.

After Dominos and IHOP in Natchidoches both screwed me royally (and neither will let me post Google reviews), French Market came to my aid with Boudain balls, Crawfish Eggrolls, and Spicy Crawfish Meat Pies!! All hail French Market Express!!!!!!!!

Always busy, but always fresh food and great service. They almost need someone in front directing large trucks and trailers to the back for gas as some ignore the large signs and this hinders the parking issue. However, the boudin balls, meat pies, and wine selection is worth it!

Great staff! They cut a bell pepper for my daughter as a snack and had our food all packed up and ready for us! The food was delicious! The poboys have the best bread. This will be our regular stop on our way to Louisiana from Dallas.

Third time Ive placed an order for food and get there to pick it up and its not ready for 4 people to be working standing around doing nothing and they say their not taking orders - first off why advertise and say Your a 24hr deli when you wont service customers 24hrs. Secondly if your never going to fix orders thru online ordering you darn shouldnt accept payment for online orders you never fill! If you not filling orders you should turn online ordering services off!

We were visiting from Texas and let me tell you. The shrimp poboys and crawfish meat pies are delicious. A must stop when we are in Nachitoches, La.

I stop here on every trip I take down I-49 back to Baton Rouge from OK. Once you’ve reached this place, you know you’re back in Louisiana. Best food you can get at a gas station, bathrooms are always clean, and gas is usually cheap.

My husband and I stopped here for meat pies on the way to New Orleans. The food was so good that we stopped back by for beef pies, fish, boudin balls and beignets on the way back to Texas.

Coffee was what I went for....no correct lids for the ice coffee cups, most of the creamer options were empty. Plenty of workers behind the counter but nothing being filled.

I love this place. I always stop here when I pass through the dish!! You have to get one of their meat pies.

Yesterday, I got a so called piece of buttermilk pie...DISGUSTING...! ..I was skeptical anyways because it didnt have a expiration tag of when the pie was made or NOTHING...DO BETTER!

This place is dirty and unsafe and they are purposely spreading Covid 19. The manager was rude and the staff was scooping food into plates and serving people while wearing mask under thier chin. I told the guy he should pull up his mask which he did and 2 minutes late him and the other guy were again serving food with their mask down. I reported it to the health department and will be publicly calling out the mayor and governor about it next so enjoy going out of business.

Amazing spot to stop at if your passing through! I live in the DFW area and on my way to Baton Rouge I always stop no questions asked.....

My Aunt and I passed through on the way to McKinney, TX on Friday. We happened upon this place and were pleasantly surprised at the gift shop aspect, the super friendly staff and the FOOD! Oh my gosh, we were so enchanted we made plans to stop again on our way back on Sunday. Shout out to cashier Jolie and Casey at the food counter.

Honestly, tonight I got the wrong kinda fries. Not what I ordered. But the other kinda fries were amazing too.. Seriously, not even mad. Thats impressive! Service is always impeccable at the overnight times, when I frequent the store. Noah and Reggie are a great overnight team!! I recommend.

I always stop here for great creole cooking! Best meat pies in LA. They also have gasoline and most items youd expect from a convenience store. But dont miss out on their great Cajun food!!! Yes, you might have to wait in line a few minutes, but it is so worth the wait...trust me!

I live in Natchitoches and almost always stop at this gas station if I have to stop by the interstate for some reason. I find it to be pretty clean and the service to be decent. But today I found a reason to give them a review. My kids woke up talking about beignets today, and this momma wanted some!! So I called around Natchitoches and this was the only place I could find that sold them. So I ordered up!! Turns out, they make them fresh to order so when I got there they were hot and fresh. They were soft and flaky and perfect! They are New Orleans style beignets (the squares instead of little dough clumps) and they were exactly what I was hoping for!!! Now that I know they are there I will DEFINITELY be going back!!!

Used to visit here on from and to Texas. Family visited this location on their trips for well over 6+ years.The bathrooms are unclean, the food is bad or never in stock (no po-boy materials available, gingerbread is hard as rocks, other food options are sub par), and they no longer stock the items we used to grab from there.The only decent menu item is the meat pies.They were good for awhile after their renovation. But after my Christmas trip through here, will not be visiting anymore. As I mainly visited for the food.

They used to be the best stop on i49, but they remodeled their bathrooms. To be fair they did need to remodel the bathrooms and ladies room looks really nice, but the doors on the stalls are not functional. Such a waste of money if they expect customers to use the toilets, unless they’re trying to encourage us ladies to use the toilets with the stall doors open. Or maybe they made three child sized stalls and only one adult size stall, I’m averaged sized and I could not stand without being touched by both the door and toilet at the same time.

Wow, Wow, Wow.Best. Po-Boy. Ever.If you are anywhere near French Market you should check it out. It is a very unique place, and definitely special. It will not disappoint. The bread on their Oyster Po-boy was out of this world- all the dressings were perfect. It was a religious experience. If this isn’t the best Po-Boy you’ve ever had, consider yourself blessed to have had some exceptional meals.Everyone was very friendly, and you can find some unique items in the store too.Don’t skip this place when visiting the area!

I have always heard about how great French Markets cafe is so I stopped there this morning to pick up breakfast. I ordered my food and the whole order was items that were already cooked, it only had to be put in a container. Seems simple. No. Not simple. I had to wait for the ham and sausage to be cooked that customers were waiting for before my food was served. This makes no sense to me. The food I ordered was sitting under the lights, just waiting to be put in the container. I had to wait until sausage and ham was cooked for this to happen. I can not understand why a customer ordering food that is already prepared has to wait for something they did not order to be cooked before they can get their food. And...the manager was on the phone telling someone about their fast service and already prepared food...ready to go. I hope that person has better luck than I did.

I’ve worked here for a while and believe me when I say it, the customer is our number one priority and any issues any customer may have is addressed with our full concern! We appreciate feedback greatly! On another note as a customer I recommend the pastries any day! My favorites include the cinnamon roll and yam cake items! And if you haven’t came for a lunch plate you’re missing out! Lasagna and hamburger steak is my favorite!

Dont stop here if you expect to reach your destination in time. Bathrooms have so much Clorox you can barely open you eyes. It took them 20 minutes to get us 2 pizza sticks in a bag that was already cooked. Come to find out they were sitting at the counter and the brunette cashier just said oops. Never stopping here again.

This place is a must stop on long trips. The great food and beer selection provide the perfect pit stop. Theyve expanded since the last time we were here, now offering more gas pumps and nicer bathrooms.

We were amazed at all the wonderful baked goods, hot food dishes and salads. The fresh salad was made with romaine lettuce (fresh and crisp) the way I like it. The pies were delicious. We tried the chocolate and the coconut pie. We meat pie my daughter tried and love it. They made a really good spaghetti also. We ate there the entire time we were visiting. Definately will go back!

Whether you are heading north to Shreveport or south to Lafayette you should make this stop. Great fried meat pies, along with delicious sweet potatoe cakes! (Clean restrooms too)

Great place to stop, they live up to there name. Fresh pies and pastries, sandwiches. Oh yea the sell gas to. My mind wanders thinking about the banana pudding and buttermilk pie.

Love stopping here on my way back and forth from Alabama and Texas. I really like the spicy (not very spicy) meat pies and the crawfish pies. Also once had an oyster poboy on French bread that was good, as well. This place is so convenient to the interstate that I’ve quit stopping at other Cajun places on my route for the most part.The thing that would make this place even better would be if some friendly faces could explain how things work at the counter. It’s not intuitive. You have to place an order at the counter, then go over to the convenience store register and pay for it, then wait. Maybe some signs would help. It’s a little intimidating the first time, and the staff seem to expect you to know how it all works.You can usually find a place to sit at one of several tables out in front of the counter. Also, drinks have to be purchased from the convenience store, not ordered with your food, but can be paid for when paying for your food.

We had read some reviews that this was a good place to stop and I had always heard that some of the best places to eat in Louisiana were the places in gas stations, so we went to the French Market Express for lunch as we passed through the area.We decided to get three different items to try and share them as our lunch. The shrimp po-boy was classic Louisiana with a great french bread roll, fried shrimp, lettuce, onion and tomato. The sandwich was flavorful and delicious.We also tried the crawfish pie which was served really hot. The heat of the filling was extreme and I had to work hard to get it to the point that I could eat it without burning my mouth. Once I got it there the pie was really good and filled with great crawfish. I am not an expert on Boudin balls, but I enjoyed them and need to try more so see how they rank.The other amazing thing here are the shelves of cookies. We got a variety of cookies to take with us. We have not tried them all yet but they look really delicious.

We adore this Market! We first fell in love with their Yam cakes. Theyre not too sweet, just perfect, with a nice touch of coconut. Then theres the muffin top cookies, the cinnamon rolls, the fritters, and the list goes on! Lovely mid-morning stop for us when were traveling from Texas to Florida.My only warning... if you have sensitivities to MSG, ask the manager before trying the yummy cajun meat pies, etc. Some items have MSG, and if youve got a sensitivity to us, as I do, youd do well to stick with the baked goods.

I had to stay a week in Natchitoches for work and was recommended by several employees that I should give it a try. First I ordered a boudin pot boy on French bread and thought I I would try a regular meat pie, well that was not for me but the portions boy tasted amazing. Second trip I decided to give a crawfish meat a chance and oh boy I’m so glad I did! It tasted amazing, so does the hamburger. The cookies are tasty as well. Every time I come to visit I will definitely stop by here to grab something to eat. I even bought the frozen meat pies and they tasted almost as good!

What a surprise this place was!A gas station / convenience store with outstanding food. The muffuletta was worthy of the New Orleans classic. This will now be a regular stop when were en route between home and the New Orleans.
