11-6-21 Am I the only one that hates the new self checkout? Whos the executive that came up with the idea to make self checkout difficult to use? Keeps telling me to move the item to the table? I have to bag each item as I scan it? Keeps coming up with an error and a girl standing by has to come over and swipe her card? What a pain in the azz!! If this is such a great idea, make every lane like this. The decision maker on this one should be fired.

Awesome just lower the prices some more it would be great.

Prices are a little high and some of the associates could have been a little more polite but other than that and enjoyable shopping experience

Store was mostly empty of customers. The usually long wait at the deli only took 5 minutes. Made me happy!!

Stop and shop is always a great place to go when you need anything food related. They will take care of you in a respectful manner and conduct their store in such a way that everyone feels welcome. Come on in, have lunch, spend some money and eat in their cafe section. Free miney in the coinstar sometimes.

Make sure you check the dates on your products. Bought something last week and it was expired 2 months ago.

They have good selection of produce but they seem to over price things because theyre the only game in town for many of these residents, They;d have to drive a bit to get to the next grocery store. Their prices are about 20% more than where I shop in NY, Shoprite and Walmart.

This store is very well stocked and the employees are helpful.

This store is incredibly overpriced!! If you can help it, highly recommended shopping elsewhere. The staff isnt even all that helpful to make up for the fact that the pricing is so outrageous. Try Wal-Mart... Or heck even Big Y has better prices than here.

Isles were clear, produce were crisp, litttle tomatoes were fresh and sweet. I did not shop for meats and other items today. Cashier was polite and curtious. The store was orderly and clean. Best wishes for them.

Stop and shop was very nice today to do shopping not a lot of people shopping today so it was pretty much in and out of the store today !!!!

Very busy, hectic store, they’re short staffed and one hand doesn’t know what the other one is doing. Not only did I fall and injured my knee and back in their exit hallway, next time I went there I was chased down by one of the managers accusing me of not paying for my purchase! Good thing I had the receipt.. and that’s after waiting for that same manager for 9 minutes at self checkout for someone to void out an item that scanned twice. There were 3 managers just standing there talking by the bank area, and when I approached the 3 of them for assistance I was told : “Cathy is covering self check out, she should be there soon” and they went back to chatting even though 3 self check out aisles were requesting customer service assistance. I waited another 5 minutes (now 14 minuets waiting) still no Cathy, so I left that self check out aisle and went to the next one. “Cathy” came up to me asking if I saw who did the transaction at the self checkout I just left. I explained that after 10 minutes the manager came but didn’t override it correctly, so I still couldn’t use that self check out (hence my migration to the one she approached me at and voided out the item that kept scanning twice). She then proceeded to tell that same “manager “ that I didn’t pay for my purchase, and he came chasing me down in the parking lot accusing me of stealing! Had I thrown out my receipt, I would’ve been there another hour waiting for them to review surveillance footage. And the guy who was stealing (different day) ran out of the store throwing bunch of stuff on the floor and almost knocking down the woman exiting and myself, and not 1 person tried to pursue him. They didn’t even call the police! Their “managers “ do not know how to manage anything... At 54,000 per year they should be a lot more competent.

Its a stop and shop - they all mostly have the same stuff BUT this locations ladies bathroom was pretty gross today when I visited so.. they lose points for that :/

I’ve been shopping here for decades and, as another reviewer noted, grocery stores are basically the same. Part of what makes this store my choice is that as much as possible during the pandemic, efforts are made to stock shelves and provide product to the customer. It’s clean and well set out to make shopping easier. Another huge part of the reason I stay so loyal to this particular Stop & Shop is the staff. Pete, Mary, Lori, Tracey, all those too numerous to name, have, over time, each gone out of their way to assist me and be courteous and friendly. I truly enjoy my shopping experience. Now, having said all that is important, I would like to ask if there’s a reason that the left side door was chosen to remain unlocked. I have some mobility issues and it creates more effort for me to move my car to go from one store to the next. If the right side was open, I could park in a general location. Thanks!

I try to come here as often as possible when grocery shopping. They have a wider selection than other grocery stores in the area.

Most of the workers are terrific, especially Peter and Mary and many others. My only complaint is that they are not enforcing the wearing of masks, especially enforcing that masks are worn properly over the nose & mouth. Even some of the employees are not wearing them properly. I wish they would do something about that.

Last week during a heat wave I popped in to get some orange sherbert icecream (yummy!). All they had was 1 ripped up, smashed quart of raspberry. Nothing else sherbert-wise.It appears this Stoppy Shoppy might be an unreliable provider of sherbert based, orange flavored, iced-cream products (-1 star).Otherwise this place is clean, very well serviced and stocked, but Ill have to keep you appraised of any further sherbert related developments.

Madhouse of last minute shoppers but Christmas spirit and kindness were strong

Very expressive to shop there, only do it if I really need to !!!!!! Ive compared prices w/Walmart and some are the same but Walmart does have things that are cheaper and just as good for quality !!!

Crowded with rude customers not following social distancing. Everyone is so close to one another. Stop n shop should enforce social distancing. It sure would make it a better experience for all in the store.

It is a grocery store like others. The prices are less on some things and more on others which is typical of grocery stores. What I really love about it is the checkout since the lines are basically nonexistent. Parking is also much easier than most (Walmart or Big Y) since they have a big parking lot, the size of the spaces are normal, designed so it is easy to pull into a spot or out of one, and not that many cars in the lot. It is clean and staff are friendly. Worth looking for sales because sometimes it really pays off to go there for sale items.

Store is very clean and laid out in typical grocery fashion. Selection is good but unless you shop for Dale or specific items you know the cost...most items are at least 20 cents or more higher than big y. Pricing is why I left them!

Ive never had a bad experience at this Stop&Shop. Staff are friendly and any time I need help finding an item Ive always found staff around to ask. Shelves are always stocked which is nice especially when going in for a particular sale item. I love this location because it does have a seafood department. My only complaint would be the meats. The meat department sells out their sale items very quickly and quantities are limited. I prefer buying my meats from Stop&Shop as opposed to Big Y because the prices are more reasonable at Stop&Shop so this is a downer for me unless I go into the store early enough to grab a sale meat item. The store is always clean which is a nice thing to see especially in a grocery store. Regardless, I prefer Stop&Shop over Big Y due to better prices.

I go there probably 1 to 2 times a week. They have pretty much everything I want, but some items have disappeared which Im sad about as its pretty hard to find pure chili oil in stores. They did, however, get my favorite Doritos back in stock which was pretty cool. Prices are usually good and there are a good amount of discounts when I go in.

Employees unfriendly. Not as pleasant of a shopping experience as some other stores. Very good take out fried chicken.

The customer is thought of here in many ways in many departments the small budget . can buy off a mark down rack for vegetables and produce . speed for quick grab and go deli, well stocked and many choices on all brands .A favorite is the meat department a wide variety and lower prices

Hadnt been to the store in ages but was surprised how many deals they had I spent more than I intended but my fridge and pantry are full. Nice clean store, they had a robot roaming around that I forgot to ask about so I dont know what it does.

Today, April 17, 2020 I went to the Naugatuck, CT Stop & Shop in Mountain View Plaza. I’m on SSDI, longterm disability. People on SSDI are not getting their directly deposited stimulus checks until May. What I am paying in food now costs about double because I am having trouble finding store and generic brands I usually get. Consequently I’m seriously short of money and came into Stop & Shop today intending to use the cash I put aside for gas. My disability includes a pain (drug) pump. My doctor is in Boston and I keep enough cash on hand to drive there (or be driven) if my pump stops working. This is literally all the money I have left this month. This $40.00 I put in a plastic bag with my S&S card. When I was in line one of the managers was bagging (I won’t say who, since I don’t know if review might backfire). As usual I was making conversation with the cashier and this manager. The people in line before me had a $300.00 order and said to manager and cashier “money isn’t everything” and I said “it is if you don’t have any”. When I went to pay I told manager what I had in this bag was all I had left for the month. The manager then went and got his/her wallet and proceeded to pay for my order. At Naugatuck/Mountain View S&S I have never met a disagreeable employee. I thank all of you for working during this perilous time.

I typically order flowers from here. The corsages are always done rght and on time. On 9/30 I ordered a birthday cake. When I went to pick it up on 10/1, no cake. That’s disappointing. Especially wen you have a Birthday girl at home.

It is very clean. The produce is very fresh and there are lots of choices. There are self check out lines, but I like the cashier lines, much quicker and no worries. Had to take 1 star because there was way too much Redsox stuff around.

One of the worst stop and shops in Connecticut! Whoever stocks the shelves always puts stuff in the wrong places. Did they hire the same stockers as the Naugatuck Walmart? It sure seems like it. Also I have always felt that their freezers are never cold enough. Saw a thermometer in there and it was 39 degrees! This place also doesnt order enough stock and frequently runs out of product. Go to Big Y instead

I went grocery shopping today and accidentally left my wallet in the shopping cart. Thank goodness for the HONEST young man that was working the lot!!! He found my wallet and returned it to the service desk!!! Clearly he is on top of his job and collects the carts quickly!!! I wish I caught his name, all I could do was cry and thank him!!!

I love Stop and shop! Prices are always fair and if brand name is not on sale - since I have no time for coupon clipping- there’s always a store brand available that always compares in quality. And the gas savings! I don’t understand why people who anywhere else.Just recently moved to naugatuck, so I’m new to this store, the store manger is grossly unprofessional 3 times I’ve had to deal with her a 3 times she almost made me a big Y customer.She bagged my ground beef with my apples. just crazy! And bannanas with chicken. Store manager should no better than that.Great prices and gas savings keep me coming back. Thank you Stop and shop!!

Lady with short hair and glasses on register was extremely rude. it was early morning, she said any coupons or reusable bags I am hard of hearing and asked her to repeat herself, which she did VERY slowly and condescending like. No wonder they are replacing all of their cashiers with DIY checkout, this is what you come to expect from S & S especially this location. Low quality people, low quality merchandise with high markup and have to bag your own groceries. I have written them off before because of other issues i.e finding an outdated item on the meat shelf and bringing it to an employee that seemed more annoyed than concerned, a rotting meat smell coming from the same department that they also shrugged off, and generally having no cashier lines open at their busiest times and treating their customers like garbage.

Staff very friendly and professional. Never seem to have product even their own brand.

Well all I can say is that this store is pretty sufficient. There are not any issues I can think of. Its a grocery store, advertising well, with decent prices.

I like Stop and Shop and the wide variety of options, easy deli ordering, etc... but they updated the registers to have these carousel bagging things. Those are nightmarish when you have a large order. I have to feed a family of 5...they are always large orders.

Usually pretty good. A bit expensive. Stopped by 15 minutes before closing for 2 things. Real quick 3 minute trip. Doors were already locked. :/

Excellent !!!! I asked the head cashier a location of a specific item and she immediately told me the number of the isle it was in. Second, I was in line with a full cart when a cashier came up to me and said Im opening up and Ill take you now GREAT SERVICE !!!! Ive been going there for as long as I can remember and will continue.

It is 4:50pm on 12 Sept. I just got off the phone after being on hold for someone in grocery to pick up a page from the Customer Service Desk. The woman at the service desk could not get anyone to answer my call. This is unacceptable. I was looking for a product in Grocery. Why no one picked up is very bad service. Will stay with Wal-Mart.

Naugatuck Stop & Shop has been on decline for a while. The meat is often disgusting and old. On a few occasions I bought bad boneless chicken breasts. The red meat often has the blood drained from it with the blood pooled to one end of the package. How long does meat have to sit to get like this? Chicken feels slimy which I read means it’s old. Produce doesn’t last long. Often bad potatoes, peppers and onions. Asparagus is never in water so its like wood. My girl has pointed this out to management on more than one occasion. It’s probably out of their hands. My girl says Seymour store is not like this. I don’t know. If I have time or need produce I go to Big Y or La Bonnes in Middlebury. On the plus side most of the staff is awesome and helpful. It’s nice to have a functioning bottle department. I spent 20 years going to New Haven Stop & Shop and the store is much better though the help is nowhere as good Naugatuck. Someone told me the store no longer packages its own meat. I believe because you can no longer see the meat cutting and packaging area. Lastly I will NEVER use the self checkout. I want a human cashier. If I want self checkout Ill order online and get it delivered too.

Customer service is very poor. Often no one tends the customer service desk. Rude and discurtious staff (lots of eye rolls and huffs/puffs when asked to help)

Worst customer service ever ! The cashier wouldn’t let me purchase fireworks because I only had a temporary I.D THAT THE DMV ISSUED FOR ME ! Have no issues with my temporary ID anywhere else BUT HERE ! very upset & so was my three year old daughter, thanks for ruining our Fourth of July !
