Went looking for 4 different books and they only had one of the four.. Two of which are pretty much carried by every other store.. will shop elsewhere from now on

Nice big book store! Its clean, the staffs are friendly. They have a huge selection of merchandise. There is also a Joe mug coffee shop. They have great frappuccinos! I miss ours here in Jacksonville.

I was extremely shocked when I entered this store for the first time, it has an extensive collection of books for such a small town! There is even a whole DnD section that blew me away, and I ended up buying a book I needed from that section without having planned to do it. The whole staff is extremely sweet and willing to help you find what you need or order it if they dont have it. Their membership is a great deal too- with deals going on all the time making the savings immense! I cant wait for Covid to not be a concern so I can lounge in their coffee shop and read the books Ive bought- they do have it open right now and Ive visited, but I want to see all the people coming in and out too! There are also tons of toys and gift options, so I know where Ill be going for unique gifts and toys for my family.

Im giving four stars based on customer service ONLY. The young lady was very helpful and ordered my book for me since it wasnt in the store.

Clean and spacious. Shelves were well stocked and a large variety of books and various gifts including toys and mugs. Probably would have spent more money except we got there close to closing time. Definitely will go back.

Gracie and Tiana, the two baristas at Joe mugs, definitely gave my 8y old son and i a laugh tonight while getting hot chocolate. He said “mom they were funny” upon leaving and “they should be your new besties” haha I guess my son is telling me to get more friends.Books A Million is definitely our favorite place to relax and get a good book and good drink. I’ve been coming here since there was a wooden train for kids in the kid book section. An overall store update might be overdue, but the staff and quality of merchandise is always perfect

I love book stores the smell of new books I could honestly spend all day looking around.

With its relaxed atmosphere and friendly customer service books a million is always one of my favorite spots to stop and enjoy coffee plus Wi-Fi which equals a positive experience.

Would like more hard back books available, but the cashier was super awesome. Very friendly and helpful.

The staff said hello when I walked in. The manager (Im presuming) was training someone. While I was browsing, shes taking a personal call rather loudly for another job opportunity. I dont know whether thats a staff problem or a company problem, perhaps both? Totally turned me off making a bigger purchase. It was clean and organized. I will give it that!

Ive only ever been to one BAM before this one and overall this location seemed almost twice as large with pretty much any book you can imagine. They also have specialty novelty figurines for movie figure fans and manga and such.

Im so happy with the store and Joe muggs. The staff are awesome on both the coffee ☕ side and the books 📚 side. This location is 100% 1# in my book! I love this place. And I live in Clinton nc and I drove for this place along with visiting downtown New bern water part. 2 and half hour drive. But they are worth it 100%.

Nice store. Large selection

So granted, I had lost my glasses the day before we visited Books-A-Million in the ocean, so I couldnt give a visual review of the store. But, with that being said I can easily tell you about my experience while I was in the store. I went in with a few friends who tried their best to help me around the store and show me things I may like. From what I could tell there was a ton of memorabilia as well as the books in the store. Everything was sectioned out so you can find your favorite subjects and interests. The young lady that was working there was as sweet as she could be, and helped me find the books I was looking for. Theres such a great diversity of products inside the store, that Im sure if I was able to see, I would have spent much more money than I did. Once I get new glasses, I will definitely be returning and I encourage you to do the same thing as soon as you can!

Love this store ! Their selection is wide and you can also enjoy some coffee from the Cafe located in the bookstore.

I had forgotten how much inspiration can be found in books, and this store has lots of extras like puzzles, gift items and lots of great things for kids. Next year Ill do more Christmas shopping there

No matter how many times I go to the super center close to here, I have to stop by and take a look! Never crowded and very clean! Not to mention they have a coffee place in-house for you to check out as well. Always a good experience and a good investment for kids who are still taking online classes.

Great collection for you pop hunters, I was mostly interested in their manga selection and was not disappointed! Overall a very large, clean and welcoming shop! Staff was also very kind as well when I came in 15 minutes till closing which I felt bad about, their hours may not always be correct online :(

I love Books-A-Million for the fact that you can meet up with your friends or employer with no harassment. I also love their coffees and snacks. The only thing I dont like is you have to pay a member fee to use their wi-fi. If you didnt have to pay a fee for their wi-fi I would give them 5 stars.

They helped a lot!I was looking for a book, not part of a series, and they were great about making sure the book I picked wasnt in a series.

It was literally 1/4 bibles. Im not making that up; one half of one side of the store was dedicated to bibles. Bible aint gonna teach you how to sand a homemade bookshelf.

The store is a cozy, good size store with a variety of genres. There is even a section for childern with books and toys. The staff was very friendly!

The management and employees in the store have really gone south. I used to love shopping here, for half my life. Last couple afternoon trips the employees have been for lack of better words, prudes. Nothing is ever priced, so you have to have things scanned at the counter for price checks. Today was it for me, management straight made-up a price on an item he didnt know the price on because it rang up at .02 cents. Who does that?!? You sell the clearance item for the 2 cents it rings up at and call it a day. But the man randomly MADE UP A PRICE! crooked right? Then 2 more items rang up as clearance and the employee CHANGED IT HIGHER thinking I didnt seeee!!!! So I asked for homeboi to come back up and this man had the audacity to tell me the clearance price was not allowed, too low!!!! It was an accident in the system, and they needed to send the items back to the warehouse. Clearance ooold Christmas items yall! Yes, it was as screwy as it sounds. This place is doomed. Absolutely heartbreaking.

I was looking for a calendar for 2021 with pictures of our National Parks. I bought the last one @ 1/2 price. Win/ Win.

I stopped for a coffee yesterday at Joe Muggs. They told me my membership card had expired and for a fee they could restart it. Decided not to do that. If you want my business I shouldnt have to pay a fee to shop there.

Employee told me to pull my mask up over my nose, and was quite rude in doing so. My mask had slid down. Not more than a couple of minutes later the employee was standing by the coffee shop talking to two female customers and all three had their masks off! Needless to say I was about to purchase quite a bit of merchandise for Christmas gifts, after seeing that I laid down the items and left. Dont like double standards and rudeness anyway

I love this books-a-million location. They always have what Im looking for. They have a HUGE selection of items. There is also a very large kids section with space for them to get comfy and read. They have plenty of non book items for the collectors and fans of various series. The JoeMuggs coffee shop is also very good. This place is fantastic overall.

Im always gonna have love for this store. Sad they took some sweets off the menu and the chairs. I used to get wrapped up in the smells, the music, the books. Like an awesome library. I know its a business... But, it was a wonderful place for me when it appeared.

Every thing in the store can be easily found. The folks the run the place put at least one book face put so you can read the title as your walking by. I hope there for the coffee and the lady behind bnb the counter was used friendly. The cashier as well.

Anytime Im trying to kill some time in New Bern I swing by here. The coffee shops pretty good with good service. As far as the bookstore theres a huge selection and plenty to look at for everyone in the family.

I love this store. Its got the greatest selection of journals, whatever kind + more. I love their selection of items you just dont find anywhere else BUT they are so dag dum expensive and thats why I didnt give them five stars. Not to mention that being in their discount membership is outrageous and only useful if you shop there often.

Went in to exchange a book all they did was refund the book I wanted to exchange on a gift card. They did look up the book I wanted and said their should be a copy located in the Bible section but never offered to help me find it or even asked if I found it as I walked out. Not impressed with the customer service.

This place is so great. They have a large collection of books and novelty items. This is a great place to go for studying. They have a Cafe where you can order coffee and pastries and both indoor and outdoor seating.

Quite, big spacious . Lots of choices. Wonderful kid area and selection. Even have Joe Muggs for coffee or little snack.

The benches that used to encourage skimming through a pile of periodicals to pick the ones with articles, instructions, and recipes you wanted to study in detail? Theyre gone. The handy carts for lugging armloads of books and magazines to the checkout? Also gone, except for the one the store employees keep to haul their stuff around the store. Lots of great selections here. If you dont see it on the bookshelf they can always order it for you. The only complaint I have is theres not much cozy seating in there. Just only were the magazines are and the coffee shop.

The store is clean. The bathrooms are clean. All of the workers are friendly. The atmosphere is nice and cozy. There is a very large variety of books, toys and many other items. There are many items that I do not find anywhere else that I can find here. My family enjoys coming here.

I went into Books a Million with my son on December 23rd to buy him a couple of Spice and Wolf light novels...there were none in stock so we had to order them. You have to specify the light novels ( which we did ) but apparently the clerk didnt type in light novel while looking up the books. The sales clerk, while nice, didnt strike me as, well, the brightest bulb in the chandelier. Received my order today, and theyre the Manga books instead of the light novels, so I now have to take them back in order to get a refund or exchange.I like the atmosphere of the store, and that its closer to my home than Barnes and Noble in Jacksonville.

Books a Million is “OTHER” large book chain’s ugly little sister. Half of their things don’t have prices and everything is overpriced. The New Bern BAM bathrooms are atrocious (like, not out of toilet paper, but no dispenser at all). Their outdoor lighting is almost all burnt out, rendering their store to look closed when it’s dark out. Additionally, their stock changes minimally and infrequently. I go in every few weeks to see what’s new and the answer is always nothing. And what’s with the front windows only displaying the back of the register shelves with trash in them?!?I will, however, say that their staff is very kind and courteous and does very well. Beyond that, I never have a reason to shop here and I’m a huge book fan.

I miss having a Book a Million in Greensboro, N.C. But will sometimes drive to asheboro to shop, and frequent the New Bern store when visiting my son who is stationed at Cherry Point. Love the Christian selections and the atmosphere of the store. And so does my Granddaughter.

Its a book store, so theres a lot of books obviously. Friendly and helpful staff make finding the book you are looking for much easier. They are also very accommodating, with a new pup in my girlfriends arms they had no problem allowing us to pick out a good read. I love the smell of a good book and as easy as eReaders are along with audio books and podcasts you cant replace the joy of cracking open a fresh book. There is plenty of other sections among the many books too including board games and puzzles. Also a kids section. Love a good book store.

Huge genre selection of books, magazines, educational resources, toys, trending novelties of assortment, cards, etc. The cafe is awesome ! The baristas make the atmosphere very open, friendly as well as carry on a conversation while they make your beverage . You feel very welcome and relaxed to the point where strangers will open up and speak to one another and then someone else will join in so its really magnetic and energetic . Aside from the cafe, the remaining associates greet you upon entrance and offer help with anything you are looking for . If youre looking for a gift they make great suggestions depending on the age and interest of whom you are buying for. This has been the experience my family and I have had every visit and it keeps us going back !

I love this bookstore! They ALWAYS have the magazines that I want to purchase - {and even those I didnt know I wanted} - plus their paper and hard backed literary offerings are impeccable. The staff, especially Reese and Leigh, are warm, friendly, gracious and very knowledgeable about their stores inventory of reading materials and their gift offerings as well. Theyre well stocked with educational materials of ALL types and for ALL ages and the movie, TV and collectors gift merchandise is plentiful and vast. Theres a large Harry Potter section, Marvel section, Pusheen and friends section, Hello Kitty section ... ... ... The list of officially licensed merchandise offerings is bountiful and endless. Theres even a LARGE vinyl album section. Posters, framed prints, small furnishings, collectibles, jewelry, coffee mugs/cups, dinnerware {think Hogwarts & Harry Potter}, bookmarks, adult - teen - childrens coloring books, crayons, gel pens, markers, ballpoints, fountain pens ... ... ... even officially licensed make-up. Plus, Joe Muggs coffee is right inside the store. So you can peruse the literary choice of your interest while sipping on your favorite hot, or cold coffee or tea beverage; or perhaps even a smoothie. Books-A-Million, or BAM as we call it, of New Bern is one of my most favorite stores in town. I could spend - {and on occasion HAVE spent- [especially during rain or thunder storms]} - literal HOURS in this store. Just curling up in one of their comfy arm chairs & reading a book that I am not yet able to purchase for myself. Its a veritable wonderland of literature and a readers dream.

The workers here are awesome! If you are a frequent shopper or even just window shopping, they always will remember your face and know what stuff you like. They are also very funny and know how to put a smile on your face. This is personally my favorite hang out spot.
